I was contacted by a lady by the name of [redacted] from Navient. She told me there is nothing she can do to change the interest rate of the loan. I think that is a complete lie because you can negotiate interest rates with banks, credit card companies, etc. I have also been told by others that they have negotiated the interest rate on their student loans. They sent me the original copies from the loan when Sallie Mae owned it and it does state 13% interest but I believe this company should work with their customers to help them achieve a better life instead of being in debt for forever. [redacted] also told me that I should just go get a different loan to pay it off to be done with them. The only way I would consider is if they dropped the interest and just allowed me to pay off the principal.

Problem:
This company is very deceitful and unreasonable. I just want to make an affordable payment every month. They asked me to fill out an Income Sensitive Repayment form and submit a pay stub. I did that and then they said I filled out the wrong form and then after I submitted the correct form they said I needed to consecutive pay stubs. They said this was not true when they called me and told me I earned to much for the sensitive repayment program but I don't believe them because my income status has not changed. This is some sort of scam to delay my payments and I just want to make a payment that is affordable and not above $100 per month.

I just received a phone call on my work phone about a delinquent student loan from Navient. The best part about it? When they switched from [redacted], I re-enrolled in automatic debit. And they call me and tell me I'm delinquent? Then once I'm off the phone I log in to check my account and it says "You are enrolled in automatic debit." Sounds like a fault on their part, not mine. There is not much more I can do. I miss [redacted].

Problem:
Total amount of loans that I got is $28799 for entire 6 years of school, during the entire 6 years, the loan amount got increased to $30kish including interest before grace period end after my graduation on 12/14/2013 and that's what I'm suppose to pay. Navient messed up my payment the moment of consolidated my loans. I paid all my unsubsidized loans and part of some direct loan before I consolidated, it suppose to consolidate all my remaining loans (except one that they messed up). The only direct loan showed on https://www.nslds.ed.gov/ that got consolidated is number 7, which is $5500, however the total amount of consolidation (including the loan they messed up "Direct Loan - Sub 1-03" <-showed on the Navient site) is $19,142, which is indeed the total amount of remaining loans that I still need to pay. Except direct loan #7 on nslds.ed.gov site, all the rest direct loan doesn't show it being consolidated on www.nslds.ed.gov. from January 2014-Oct 2014, I paid around $16k in total amount of loans, which left me around $13-14k student loans remaining. And on November of 2013 they add the loans that doesn't show being consolidated on [redacted] to Navient, the result of that doubled my total loan amount, which showed on the navient site that it became $30k again after I already paid off $16k of student loans for over 10 months of period. After I complaint and called Navient at least 20 times, they finally start to research, however they made the incorrect loan amount worst. On February of 2015, they consolidated unsubsidized loans (which it had been all paid off before) showed up at their website the amount of $7,613.78 at 5.25% interest rate. However on the https://www.nslds.ed.gov/, since all the unsubsidized loan already been paid off before, after Navient consollidated unsubsidized loan on Febuary 2015, it still show $0. Now on Navient website the interest is accumulating everyday and the amount that I had to pay remaining became $38,437.59 (as of March 12, 2015), plus the $16k that I already paid off, the total amount of loans that Navient charged me is around $54-55k. I only got $28799 from student loans in total to start with, how the hack they messed up so badly and do not fix it?! I had been suffer and frustrate mentally everyday, can't sleep day and night, effecting my physical body, life, credit report, and work related performance. Just today March 11, 2015, I start to see new thing came up on Navient, it's the word "Refund" on many payments, I have no idea what that is, I think they are trying me screw me off even more probably by saying "those that you paid before got refunded back to you as indicated on the website", which I receive none, they keep making new things to screw my bank account. I can't even make any money for myself because debt keep accumulating in a wrongful way!

I have been in touch with a representative from Navient who has been extremely pleasant to work with; however, the matter has not be resolved. I am still unable to make on-time payments through the company's website. Additionally, when I made a payment over the phone last month, the payment was mis-allocated so that all of the payment went to my private loan even though some of it should have been allocated to my stafford loans, and so even though I made the full payment due for both the private and stafford loans, it still shows that I have a past due balance. I have been informed by this representative that the charge has been correctly re-allocated; however, when I log into the Navient website it still shows a past due amount, and I continue to get at least two harassing collection calls per day. Since I am unable to be assured that my phone payments will be properly allocated among my private loans and my stafford loans in the future, I need to be able to make payments through their website, and I want them to stop the harassing collection calls. I tried to make a payment on their website as of this morning (3/24/2016) and it is giving me the same error message I have been receiving for the last couple of months, even though I've gone as far as to provide my bank statement (which is completely intrusive, but in an effort to reasonably cooperate I provided it anyway) to show that the account is open and in good standing.

Navient was unwilling to work with me to get to a reasonable payment agreement, despite documentation of finances and given situations. They refused to after the wonderful representative, Justin, strong case and determination to help to even offer any other type of solution. The only resolution is to pay the full amount which I can't afford or default the loan. I do not think it is fair that they are so unwilling to even come to an agreement and are very one sided in this matter.

Again big business has exploited the young people trying to get ahead. With high interest rates, for those less fortunate among us. They change account numbers and payment addressees for primary and cosigner to further agitate the process. I sense another Bernie Madoff American greed scam approaching.
