Navient does not offer a real way forward, I have been on the phone trying to resolve my Navient account, only to have Navient call me twice while I was in the midst of the call.
Navient representative seem to have a mission to repeat the mortgage companies irrational and brutal behavior.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below and I have included an attachment of their letter (whiting out specific loan information).First I would like to address each paragraph of their letter since it includes several falsehoods.  I never received any notification in the Spring 2014 regarding the company split.  Moreover, I spoke to Sallie Mae representative in July 2014 and asked if ANYTHING would be changing regarding the servicing of my loan once I found out it was in the Forbearance status and was told NOTHING would change.  I cannot stress this enough since I asked repeatedly and wanted something in writing to address any changes regarding my loan to be sent to me, but was refused.Second paragraph; when they state that "their records indicate that Navient responded to my inquires..." for basic account information, I felt my blood boil.  Since July 2014, I continue to request basic account information and to this date have received NOTHING.  Through phone calls, letters from attorney, my letters including payments I have repeatedly requested basic account information; total balance, interest, how interest is being calculated on my account, how payments were applied...and have received NO information via the phone or in writing as I have requested.  You can see in the letter, that once again they have provided NOTHING.  The part that is whited out simply states my loan number, type, disbursement date, original principal, interest rate.  I have no idea what "outstanding principal" amount is because it has an additional $272.09 added to my original principal.  What is the amount of interest on the loan?  How were my payments in October and December 2014 applied?  I have repeatedly asked for basic account information so I understand how  payments are being applied and how interest was accruing on the account.  In the case of interest being capitalized on my account, I was trying to pay that amount so my loan did not balloon when it came out of Forbearance.    Third paragraph; "I have confirmed that your payments were applied correctly."  What does that even mean?  I have asked over and over to show me in writing, how are you applying my payments.  If you are doing it correctly, then you should have no issues showing me specific accounting details on my account.  According to Navient representatives via our phone conversations; while in Forbearance I should not have received any "late fees" because you are not requesting payment.  And the reason I am requesting specific loan and interest amounts is so that I can pay "unpaid accrued interest".  I find it unethical the way Navient skates around the issue of capitalized interest and never states this or really explains it to the consumer so that they are not shocked when they receive a huge amount tacked onto their loan.  Their representatives make it sound like you are just in some "frozen" state in Forbearance and nothing changes, no worries, no payments...but don't explain the repercussions of not making a payment because they are trying to protect themselves.  I even spoke to their Portfolio Management department at 866-291-4403 on January 14th,  and receive ZERO information about my account and nothing about any of the information discussed in their response letter.  I was specifically told to call that number for any questions regarding my account, in a letter provided by Navient after my January 2015 phone call (attached)…which obviously was not on the 6th as indicated in their Revdex.com response letter since their letter to my phone call is dated the 5th.  In that letter, it states they "CANNOT discuss my account due to its current status".  But wait, their Revdex.com response letter states that "our records indicate...Navient responded to your inquiries"  and "Customer Service Representatives [can]not ...request payment...are able to provide you with general information."  Again, I have asked repeatedly for this information and to date have not received ANY information.  Just rhetoric.   Furthermore, at the date of this response letter and the January 14th phone call, my loan was out of the Forbearance status.  According to their representatives and a letter from Sallie Mae (attached), it should have been on January 8, 2015...so why are they still avoiding giving me the information I am requesting?  It would not be in violation of any laws.  So now I am worried what financial amounts they are hiding from me.Final paragraph; if my loan was charged off on September 15, 2014 why was I not notified?  Since that date, I have sent 2 letters with 2 payments and spoke to phone representatives twice in January 2015 requesting basic account information, status, when payments will resume.  I was told in the phone conversations in July 2014 and January 6th 2015 and that payment would resume on January 8, 2015 because that was when it was coming out of Forbearance status.  NO ONE EVER told me my loan was charged off in September 2014.  So now I have new questions...what does this mean for my loan?  what new changes will be occurring?   How does it affect that status of my loan?  What will my payment amounts be?  How will you determine my payment schedule?  does this continue to affect my rebuilding of my credit negatively because now it is with a collection agency?  how does it affect how interest is continued to by applied and am I now being charged late fees because it has been out of Forbearance since January 8th?  Why are you including the filing dates and when my bankruptcy was dismissed...how are those dates important?  It appears something is pertaining to those dates and my loan, but instead of Navient stating it in plain English, they are just throwing this out there to protect themselves in some legal fashion.  As you can see, with this loan, I get very little answers even though I have been trying to be responsible in its repayment.  Instead I get a lot more questions being raised about what financial surprises are going to be awaiting me once they decide to start demanding payments again on their schedule.  In the meantime, I am left in the dark about my account since July 2014...I have no idea what the full loan amount of principal and interest is at this time, if they have capitalized interest, specific accounting information of how payments were applied, if there were any other hidden fees that were being added to it.   I was making timely and early payments and even extra payments until July 2014, and even tried to make payments while in Forbearance, yet now I am being treated like some irresponsible deadbeat.   As a consumer, I appear to have no recourse in this loan and simply at the mercy of whatever Sallie Mae, Navient and now some third-party collection agency decide to throw at me.If you can assist me in anyway, it would be greatly appreciated.Regards,[redacted]

I received a bill for $80 and a letter saying I owe $0 on the same day.  A few days later I received a bill saying I owe $0 and another bill saying I owe $80.  Then today I received a letter changing my payment terms saying I owe $0 for 12 months, a letter saying you could not grant my request because both joint borrowers must sign the student loan debt burden forbearance form and submit proof of income, another letter saying I must submit a form to change my name, a fourth letter explaining what a forbearance request is and an application to apply for one and a fifth letter explaining what my repayments options are and showing that my current plan is income-driven.

Basically I still have no idea if I owe $80 a month or $0 a month because every time I receive a letter or bill that says $0 I also receive a bill that says $80.  I did not fill out a request for forbearance and don't appreciate receiving a letter saying that we both did not sign our paperwork.  The income driven paperwork was signed by both of us each time that it was submitted this year.  No idea why I received a letter about changing our name, no one's name was ever requested to be changed.  I still have not received anything explaining why my paperwork was not processed in April, May, June, July or August until I called twice.  No idea why I still owed money even after I was told by a supervisor that I owed $0 in August.  No idea why I received 10 separate letters or bills in the last week all telling me something different; I owe $80, I owe $0, you need my signature, you want to change my name.  I need a personal letter from someone at Navient explaining why my paperwork was not processed, how this problem is being fixed and what is happening now with my account.  I still have no confidence in Navient and think that maybe someone should look at my account, listen to the recorded phone calls, read through all the mail you keep sending me and figure out what the heck is going on.  Once again I request that you stop calling me at your convenience because I do work from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm and have no desire to take time away from my job or my lunch hour to speak to one of your representatives.  I have spent a total of 3 hours this year talking and no one is listening.  I want something in writing that I can refer to when I get billed again two months from now because someone at Navient has screwed my account up again.

As of dec 15th we have yet recieved a letter and since we are currently out of state for the holidays I give full permission to disclose any information to the Revdex.com in order to resolve this. Due to the lack of cooperation in the past year we have found this matter will not be resolved dealing directly with the company. We ask that they reply with what the letter stated so that it can be read and responded to in a timely manner.

They unilaterally lowered my monthly payment by more than 60%, effectively increasing the life of my loan and, thereby, the amount of interest they would collect from me over the life of the loan. I didn't notice this for several months because my payments are set up on Auto Pay. I had to call them to have my payment amount increased to the original payment agreement.
This reduced payment amount started in May. They told me they sent me a letter about this in April. I received no letter. Nor did I receive any message via email or on my online account with them. I still don't have a copy of that letter.
If you have loans that are being managed by these people, check your Auto Pay amount regularly.
Sallie Mae never pulled anything sneaky like this. Shame on you, Navient!

Sallie Mae sent me a bill via email (my preference), stating I owed $0 (I'm making poverty wages and it's on hold until someone actually PAYS me for that education). I saw the email about Navient taking over, fine.. no big whoop. Just something I saw via email. Then I got a bill stating I own $1700.00 - yep, with Navient, I'm now $1800 in arrears (so they say).. however, I still am making $13/hour paying over $1000 for rent (sans utilities) - there is NO money. Before actually creating an account with Navient I decided to check them out online.. can't see a DAMNED thing nice about them….
I know I will NOT call them - for it appears they have no ears. I know I cannot write them, for it appears they have no eyes…
I'm stuck between scylla and charybdis - but at least I'm not in the state I used to be in…
If they were a real company, they'd have morals, ethics, and not turn a $0 payment into $600 within THREE DAYS! … seriously - that's what they did… and now it's been 3 months - $1800… all via email… all without my consent.
I realize I'm supposed to be a "grown up" about it - contact them, work things out.. but how the blank am I supposed to work things out with neanderthals?? They SUCK!!! and they're run by Republicans who pretend they're "helping" us???
Get serious. This isn't helping. It's making folks go postal.
nope, not me.. I'll be good, I'll write them a letter and mail it from a different planet - telling them they have the information wrong… and it I can't pay rent, I sure as blank can't pay the student loans at this time..
I hate this part of life.

Problem:
Navient violated confidentiality and my privacy and the fair credit reporting act. I requested a co-signer release from Navient on a 10 year old student loan and they claim I still don't qualify. My cosigner is in poor health and needs to be released. If you look at their pre-qualifying requirements. I am an executive and have had a stable job making over $90,000, I have a doctorate and an MBA and completed all of my programs. I am not in default, I am not a payment plan with them, more than half of my credit cards had 0 balances at the time they pull my report and my federal loan are in the process of being consolidating which do not impact this loan in anyway. I have not missed any payments of this loan either.I meet all of the qualifications. They claim that after 10 years and paying the loan for the last 3 on time that I do not qualify. They first stated in a letter I received in June 2015 that my income was insufficient,. I told to submit more documentation regarding my income and when I did that they came up within even excuses. They claimed to have a dispute committee but it never made it to this supposed committee which does not exist. hen after I demonstrated that the my income ($103,000 year annually) was more than sufficient then they stated 5 other things in my credit report that were not accurately. I called to speak to a representative who was not polite and who claimed my large federal loan which has nothing to do with this loan was too big and I needed to pay that one down significantly first before they would consider releasing my cosigner. They continue to make it every excuse to keep my cosigner tied to this loan. They have now issued a letter detailing what they claim was in my credit report to my cosigner with out my permission and violated my rights and confidentiality as again they are trying to make the case that I don't qualify even though they state that credit is not entirely of their decision and again I meet all of their other criteria. Some of their reps have any made statements that they would go after my co-signer's estate. The claim about going after her estate was made in a phone in October 2010 and was stated in several calls over the last 2 years while getting trying to get her released. They even claim in a letter that I did not make 12 consecutive payments and have made the payments. They refused to take me out of their deferment when I asked them not to defer my account and refused to give me a regular payment amount. They kept making the claim that my account was paid up. Their practices are illegal and unethical and they need to release my 77 year old cosigner from this debt that she will never have the ability to pay. They violated confidentiality as they had no right to disclose to my cosigner anything that the claim was in my credit report as I requested the co-signer release and I filed the better business report. This continues to mislead the cosigner, her family and creates more conflict on trying to get her released.

Desired Outcome:
They retract what they have sent in the form of false information to my cosigner regarding my credit report and they need to release her form the loan. I have already filed formal complaints with the FTC and State's attorney General.

Shortly after filing this complaint, I received a call from a representative at Navient.  She assured me that she would look into the issue.  Today I received a written response from Navient, stating that my request is being denied.  In this same letter, the many phone calls that were made between myself and the company were acknowledged.  The fact that I repeatedly asked for paper documentation of the payments was also acknowledged.  These acknowledgements were followed with the following statement "We would like to apologize that your request to receive your billing statements by mail was not completed in February or March as you requested."

Navient has acknowledged that they did not comply with my request for mailed paper statements.  For this reason, I do not agree with the denial to remove the negative credit reporting.

I spoke to a [redacted] at Navient on September 17, 2015. I explained that I felt that Navient's business practices are fraudulent because their statements show payments that I never made and the fact that they changed the amount they claim I owe them (3) times. I also requested from Sallie Mae, the original lender, a statement that showed I owed $0.00, which I provided to Naveint. No one has ever called me back to respond to my inquiries. [redacted] told me that he would be sending me something in the mail and as of today's date, October 1, 2015, I have received nothing in the mail. I reject this because there has been no resolution, I have been ignored again. This continues to affect my credit score as it appears on my credit report. This company needs to be investigated for fraud.
