Problem:
We have been trying to reach [redacted] or someone else at Navient and cannot get a real person on the phone. We have been trying to pay this debt since April of 2015 but have not been able to get through to them to make the payment in full. Any interest would have been fairly paid in the Bankruptcy, but they refuse to submit the proper paperwork to the court for correct payment, knowing that they can EXTORT more money from honest citizens by fraudulently misfiling paperwork with the court systems. They have stalled running up the interest unfairly, and are worse than the mafia. Instead of the $1,549.46 that we have been trying to pay them since April, they are saying that we now owe over $1,600.00. They have refused to deal with us honestly and have used the legal system to EXTORT money at an unfair interest rate, and refuse to take payment in full in order to EXTORT more money from us! They refuse to talk to us about any hardship program that they might have, or to even let us pay them.

Desired Resolution / Outcome
Desired Outcome:
WE want to pay a fair amount or to have the interest that they are EXTORTING from us dropped since we have paid the full amount of the loan. Any interest would have been fairly paid in the Bankruptcy, but they refuse to submit the proper paperwork to the court for correct payment, knowing that they can EXTORT more money from honest citizens by fraudulently misfiling paperwork with the court systems. We are willing to pay the amount of $1,549.46.00 that they fraudulently claim that we owed them in April of 2015 and close out the account in full and drop this from our credit reports.
This company is terrible. I have never in my life had to deal with such incompetency. The interest rates are astronomical and payments are nearly impossible to make. I have tried multiple times to lower my monthly payment but the customer service here is awful. I will never recommend Navient to anyone.

I have received a letter from Navient representative [redacted] with explanations of the rules of the student loan. I understand the rules and I don't need to be reminded about it. Ms [redacted] stated in the letter that the student loan
is now in a student deferment and repayment is postponed until December 20, 2016. I was able to check the loan status and it does say that payment starts on December 20, 2016. I am afraid that next month I will be going through
the same issue, dates will change and phone calls and emails will start again. We've provided information needed, my daughter paid a fee to school to have a letter stating that she is full time student. That letter was mailed to Navient
and the phone call was made to Navient to make sure that they have information. This is an ongoing event between Navient and me. I placed a call to Ms. [redacted] and waiting for a call back, just to make sure that the situation doesn't
repeat itself again. For that reason, I still need more time.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that I would like to wait till I receive the response from Navient. As of today at the time I'm sending this message (July 25th, 2016 @ 07:20 AM), I haven't received anything in the mail from them. When I receive and review the letter from them that was sent on July 20th, 2016, I would then determine whether or not I am satisfied with their response.
Please note that this is NOT my official rejection to the business response. I will accept or reject the business response on receipt of their letter and approval of their resolution stated in their letter.

The response states that I will receive a letter by mail from their Customer Advocacy group. I have not received the letter yet therefore I cannot validate that they have satisfied my complaint. The letter would need to accurately state the amounts due each month after considering my request for an income based repayment plan. The other issue with this company is getting conflicting information. I spoke with someone from their advocacy group this week and the amount she gave me is different from the amount shown on their website today. I know they are trying to help and work things out which is good and I appreciate their efforts, but I will not rush to judgement until I get the letter. I will be willing to review this gain given more time to await the mailing. Hopefully I will get the letter by next week to determine the resolution.
Regards,
My experience with Navient has quite possibly been the worst of any company I have ever worked with. Had I known this would be the case I can assure you I would never have chosen Sallie Mae when I consolidated my loans in August of 2014. Since then I have been battling to have around 15,000 USD applied to my account. I have been put off for 30 days, 60 days, promised return calls that were never received, spoken with supervisors that told me I could reach them with only a badge number then to be told that is impossible. I've been told by other supervisors that the previous supervisor sent my information to the wrong department and I would have to start all over. I have spent close to 15 hours on hold or explaining to yet another person what is happening and still nothing. Wait times are beyond ridiculous and no one seems able to do a job correctly. I will be reviewing Navient on any and every website possible so others do not have to experience this level of incompetence.

They said I could pay what I have been paying in the agreement but the would send a negative report to the credit bureau, and I would still have to pay the amount they say is past due, as I said this was prepared from someone in their financing dept. They say I owe a lot of past due money when they have been deducting the money agreed upon from my checking account. This cannot be legal.
