However, all other services require a payment as stated above and according to our Terms of Use. No additional charges will be levied against their credit card as long as the account remains canceled. This Resume Genius company is blatantly a scam. Their perverse business ethics and practices demonstrate this clearly.
I explicitly agreed to pay $1.95 for access to digital templates to create a resume. However they posit that, due to their terms of service, I implicitly agreed to be registered for a $39.95 per month subscription to a service I had no idea I was even subscribed to. I would like to emphasize that during the months of my so called subscription I received no notice or contact from the company in question. No receipt of charges incurred or notification was e-mailed to me that my subscription status had been upgraded. While it may be "easy" to unsubscribe to the service, a casual search on this institution reveals a history of unethically, if not illegally, scamming customers out of their money.
 
If they adamantly refuse to grant a refund, and they have the legal recourse to do so, I find that there are very few  options open to me. However, I think that this category of business practice and the magnitude of their customer dissatisfaction merits a change in their business policy. A timely and accurate billing statement must be issued to subscribed customers, so that others like me will not be unknowingly paying for a service, and they must be more explicit about automatically signing up customers for their subscription service, or even better, not automatically subscribing individuals for a ludicrous monthly payment and an even more ludicrous service.

The resume I built on Resume Genius was expansive with ton of attention to detail, along with better descriptions and wording from using their pre written phrases feature, formatting than I could of ever come up with myself. Now I have more confidence while job hunting.

I worked in the same company for many years, when the company had to lay off people unfortunately I was one of them, since I had been there for so many years I had no idea how to do a resume, I searched for a few sites but couldn't find one that was easy to use, until I came across Resume Genius, it was user friendly and also it had some really good articles and examples for people in my situation. I finally made an incredible resume thanks to the guidance of the website and the agents who helped a lot.

Resume Genius starts out by promoting a free trial that you end up having to pay $2 for which turns into a monthly subscription that you review no email warning you about an end to the trail. Normally a subscription website will provide good customer service and refund a subscription fee if you did not use the services during that time. I'm not the only one to complain on this matter. [redacted]
provides about 40 similar complains with Yelp and other review sites all backing up my complaint. I find it poor business that they are unwilling to resolve my issue and instead refer to their fine print as a legal justification for their billing process. Others need to be warned about the sketchy billing process from this company. The concept of paying $40 for a single resume template download is ludicrous and I'm less than impressed with their copy and paste response to the matter.

The subscription was canceled according to their guidelines. I do not know what mistake occurred, but  it did not get canceled on their end. Why would anyone knowingly continue to pay a fee for something they are not using? We thought the subscription had been canceled. Resume Genius refuses to acknowledge that they are billing a monthly subscription fee without notifying the customer with a courtesy email. There is no question of why a company would choose to do that when so many complaints have been filed in regard to this standard operating procedure of theirs.  No legitimate business that wants to have a reputable image would refuse to refund monies that they know were paid unknowingly....basically stolen since somehow the account didn't get canceled even though it was done according to their instructions.

 This response is a joke. Clearly the "subscription terms" are not as obvious as they've stated or they wouldn't have the internet littered with complaints against them, All for the same thing. Many other companies have a paid subscription service and have very few complaints. Wonder why that is? Because they actually care about customer service. I do not expect to get anywhere with this company, as they just give everyone the run around. I will take it up through other avenues. Thanks

The job search resource they provide is very useful, it found jobs in my area that I thought would fit my skills. I went ahead and created a resume right away and emailed my resume to potential employers. Couple days later I received phone calls from the employers to set up interviews. Happy job hunting everyone.

The only way my complaint will be resolved is to have $39.95 credited to my credit card which this response still refuses to do.  I have received nothing for the $39.95, do not want anything, not interested in the service, and want as many people as possible to know not to get suckered in to unwittingly signing up for this complete rip off.  There is no telling how many people have been scammed out of money for this service.  Note on the 4 documents they supplied, only one mentions $39.95..... and it is in the small print.  That's what they do.  They trick people into not realizing that they are signing up for a monthly service and then hide behind their website small print disclaimer to deny refunds when people recognize what's happening.  Just because something is legal does not make it right.  It's called plain old GREED.  For reference, I am not alone in getting ripped off by this company.  Here are other posts related to the same thing.... [redacted]/Wilmington-Delaware-19801/RGO-Resumes-RGO-Technologies-I-used-RGO-res... final word to RGO is this....  We never intended to sign up for any monthly service and thought we were paying $1.95 for a resume on your website.  We never used the service beyond the one time, nor do we intend to.  We never saw anything about a $39.95 monthly fee until we saw the charge on my credit card.  We contacted RGO immediately and were informed that we had unwittingly signed up for a monthly service.  We politely explained to RGO that we never saw anything about a $39.95 monthly service and did not want it.   We respectfully requested that $39.95 simply be refunded to my credit card.  That's when I realized what was really going on.  It costs RGO nothing to refund my money for a service I do not want nor will I use, but they refused and cited policy, website disclaimer, etc. etc.  This is a legal money grabbing scam.  Any decent company would have gladly issued a refund under these circumstances.  Should RGO do the right thing and return my $39.95, I will gladly post the result.

The business does not clearly state that the auto renew will take effect at hourly increments during the 14th day. The advertisement is for 14 days of service implying that on the 15th day you will be charged. I was charged on the 14th day. This is false advertising. I called to cancel on the 14th day. I should not have been charged.

My experience with computers is very limited and I was very nervous because I wanted to make sure I had prepared the resume correctly. Long story short I went on live chat and was helped by John, he was very helpful and instructed me how to download my resume and offered to send my resume in all the templates offered. Greatly appreciate the wonderful assistance.
