The business claims the terms were listed on the sale receipt. That is NOT correct. I did not see anywhere during the process about their intent to charge me 39.95 a MONTH for a service that was advertised as "0.95!" Numerous complaints that litter the internet about this fraudulent company make it clear this was not a problem with a single person, but rather, hundreds if not thousands have the EXACT SAME complaint. Additionally, "[redacted]" at Resume Genius request for me to contact him via email to resolve the complaint. I did contact him on 11/26/14 and have received NO response. More poor customer service! I hope that my complaint when added to the many, many other complaints out there about Resume Genius will help people learn to avoid this company for the plague that it is. If they had refunded me the amount they fraudulently charged, I would have been a satisfied customer - because I only used their service the first day of two into the 14 day "free" trial *note, it wasn't really free, they charged 0.95 for that! If nothing else, their ridiculous claim that they can't refund me at least for the last month when I finally saw the fraud because their "billing cycle" had already been processed is proof that they are a scam, fraud, and malicious company. I hope to some day enjoy reading about their company being sued for every penny and more for the pain and suffering they have caused numerous "clients."

I was just hours late to "cancel" my subscription and they charged my credit card 39.99. I emailed support about this and was told It was too bad I am out that money and I have to take the month of services I paid for. The charge wasn't even fully cleared and I missed the 14 day mark on their subscription by mere hours. Less than 2. I did not use any further service, I do not feel they are at a loss refunding me but they refuse.
This resume builder saved my money and time, basically doing the work for me. Resume Genius helped me created my professional resume and presents my experiences at best for my employers. Thank you for the help and making my job search so smooth sailing.
Resume Genius allowed me to do my resume from scratch in less than an hour. It was so easy to use and looks professional. For $1.95 they offer multiple templates to your liking. I would give 5 star for this cool site.

This response is generic and doesn't address my complaint. I have discovered that this company operates under multiple names on the internet such as Resume Builder. This way they capture as many people as possible who just want a free template.
See my original complaint. I did not want to sign up for a service. I was forced to in order to print and save my resume and not waste hours of time. The template was clearly labelled as "free" when I started.
Re: their assertion that customers can download a free "text-only" copy, I have 2 things to say. 1)This was never offered as an option on the website I was on. 2) That is NOT a resume. Simple HTML wouldn't help at all. A customer would have to retype the entire thing.
Lastly, I did cancel the subscription immediately after saving and printing the resume. I did not receive a confirmation of this.
There are dozens of similar complaints that I easily found within 5 minutes of researching this company. Unfortunately, they are on reviews such as the one I mentioned in the original complaint. Not as many people went to the trouble to report them to the Revdex.com.
I am standing up for all of those people. This company needs to be stopped. It is easy for internet-based businesses to get away with unethical and/or fraudulent practices that can be changed overnight and are difficult to track.

The whole process is not time consuming, you just have to fill entires provided by each section and the system automatically puts together a beautiful resume and is ready to send in just few minutes.

Same canned response from these clowns - the same one they gave the other people who were ripped off. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE them to charge me $39.95. if they claim that their terms of service was in PLAIN SIGHT, then they are most likely LYING, because I, along with other people, are complaining about the EXACT SAME THING. didn't see anything referring to a $39.95 charge and if they say that its plain view, their web master better fix the problem on the website.....although judging by the number of complaints against them, I would say they are being shady from the start. Give me my $39.95 back u jerks
