In December of I called and had a home alarm installed in our vacation homeIt's location is *** *** *** *** *** ** *** I also had another system installed for a family member as a gift in that same month There are no issues with that system My system has alarmed at least timesThe police have never once arrived at my houseI even traveled 1/hours to shut the alarm off and the police never arrivedI understand that they don't have control over when and if the police arrive but there was something wrong and the alarm kept triggeringSo I called them to ask if I could relocate the system for the rest of my contract They told me I had to sign a new yr contractI told them that with all the issues I had I was hoping that they would just continue the same contract and I would pay to have the system relocated to my home in *** where I could monitor it myselfThey told me no I then asked them how much it would be to terminate my contract only

After doing an internet search for a Ring Security System, I was contacted by this company stating that they provided the systemWe discussed the items that I was interested in with the security system including a video doorbell and camerasHe offered a system that included home automation and keyless entry (which I did not ask for)I was told that I did not have to pay for the equipment because I am a first responderI was given the reference #*** and was given an install date of 12/5/When the technician arrived he had all of the equipment discussed but no door bell or cameras (it was not the Ring System but a comparable video monitoring system)At that time I told him not to install anything but I wanted to speak with the person that I had previously spoken with on the phoneHe contacted someone that he identified as his supervisor whose name was BradI was told by Brad to call the ADT rep and tell them I was not satisfied and they'd correct itI was then told by

I signed up for a free quote with ADT for a security systemI was talked into buying a system that charged an installation fee and monthly feeI was asked for credit or debit card infoI told the rep that I was unable to make a payment for installation this week because there is no money in the accountThe rep assured me I could instead use an electronic check and the payment wouldn't come out for a weekI agreedMy husband and I decided we can't afford the service right now so I immediately called back to set up my scheduled installationA manager briefly and impolitely told me ok I cancelled your account and told me the installation fee wouldn't be chargedThen today I found out the $in fact WAS charged so now I am negative $and the bank charges a $fee for bouncing the account that cannot be reversedI have small children and I am a student working part time I cannot afford thisThe rep I spoke with was maverick R***

ADT technician installed their security system in my house on august 18,On august 28, 2017, the system malfunctioned that nightI called them they attempted to troubleshootwhich was not successfulThe customer service representative stated that someone would be contacting me within hour, which never occurredI called them back to inform them that the system had malfunctioned again this time the sensor fell off the basement doorI had to speak with them times before I could get an appointment for some to fix the problemSo I have been unable to secure my home for over 48hourI have not gotten a refund for the issues, nor have they credited my account for the services not brig accessibleI can be contacted via email/cell, *** or ***Thanks in advance, Ms***

This is concerning *** *** *** ** *** ** We installed ADT at this home, which cost about dollars When the home sold we were told by ADT that, as we already have ADT at our new home (and have had for two years), that we could just transfer ADT service at *** *** to the new owners with no cancellation fee However, we kept receiving service bills until August (they were ALSO receiving payment from the new owners as this account was in their name for nearly four months by that time) We called ADT, and they stated that they would back date the termination to May when we contacted them to transfer the service to the new owners We then began receiving calls from a collections agent about the debt We told them we had already contacted ADT, and that they assured us that nothing was owed We did not realize that they had sublet the installation to Defender Defender was requesting a "cancellation fee", though we were already informed that it would be "ok" to t

After Protect Your Home installed system on same day, I left on plane back to NY for monthI was not aware of days to cancel services or a contract for mths with themI tried numerous of times to low money payment because I wasn't using any of features being charge for monthly One day I received calls from this company, received no cooperation from telephone agents but meantime receiving emails with lower monthly promotionsHowever, I did not sign anything to discontinue services and received letter from attorney for $Disputing charges for service I did not receive totaling this amountSo far no respond from company

We called for our "free" system nd paid $ Technician came and free" system turned $3828.46! and $monitoring turned into $BAIT AND SWTCH!? We faxed the cancellation notice on 9/11/18,(the date on the sheet) to the number provided
I got a call 10/from a Michael and asked about payment, I told him we had cancelled and he said he would arrange to have system taken out Got a call from ADT 10/asking about status, I explained we had cancelled and was awaiting them to remove the systemShe said the note said the cancellation had been received unsigned and to call defenders which we did After being bounced to people we spoke to a Collin I explained the situation and told him that we were getting different stories

Defenders is an ADT contracted companyBoth ADT and Defenders runs a bait and switch operationThey mislead and withhold information on their ads and then do completely different thingsFor example, my contract says + tax which would be around $52, but my account was charged We were also told that there was no installation fee and all of the equipment would be covered since we are new customers, but once the tech arrived at our home he drilled a hole in our wall AND then told us that it would e $for all of the equipmentIn NY and as part of the contract, you have business to cancel servicesWe have faxed the required cancellation letter every single day multiple times and every time we call them to double confirm that they got our letter they mysteriously hang up on usThey also claim that we have to talk to ADT while ADT claims we have to talk to DefendersAll in all, they are doing everything in their power to stop people from cancelling within days for

We moved and were going to transfer our ADT service to our new home after we finished construction Our project has taken longer than projected and without billing us or calling, Protect Your Home sent our account to collections We called and they blamed ADT but they clearly didn't try collecting from us the consumer as we would have happily paid The fact that they sent it to collections after months and without a bill seems over the top

This ADT account should have been canceled with no penalties due to it not being authorized for payment and not is under collections
The letter below was sent to ADT corporate office and we received a call from corporate office that the account was cancelled and no further actions were necessary but now we received a collections notice

This letter is in response to the complaint #*** filed by *** ***By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT
We have researched into Ms***’s complaint and located her account. Our records show we installed her system on August 5, 2014. At that time, an email was sent to advise of the Visa redemption process. However, we are happy to help with that process and have the Visa expedited to her home. Please allow up to business days for the gift card to arrive. In regards to the $charge, it should be listed as a charge from ADT. That is who collects her monthly bill and her first months bill would be prorated, as explained in the blue install folder left at the time of install.
Ms*** also mentioned wanting to receive monthly invoices instead of automatic billing. This can also be done through ADT’s billing office, they can be reached at 1-800-369-0996, option 1. We did call Ms*** to provide this information to her, but was sent to voicemail, so a detailed phone message was left.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the consumer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns

I received a bill for service that was cancelled by ADT/Defenders, that was not made aware to meNow, they are charging me a cancelled contract fee due to no fault of my ownI recently made a payment in December and was late paying January'sThe bill received in the mail is for $318.76, of which I do not oweWhen speaking with the first rep, she indicated that my account had been cancelledI did not cancel the account and recently mailed the payment for JanuaryI'm planning to sue if this is not resolved and will get the media involved if necessary

Defenders is not trustworthyWhen you speak to a representative on the phone they always say you should talk to technician and his managerTechnician is always nice but lies and gives incorrect informationIf I had known that I was not dealing with ADT but some random installation company I would have never gone ahead with themThey usually offer you a big credit towards equipment which they say will cover most of the equipment but it hardly covers some basic stuffCustomer service doesn't take responsibility for anything that happens to your account and blame it on technicianBe careful of this company

Unauthorized credit inquiry on my credit report

I have been billed for a price I did not agree to pay and the debt has been forward to another collection agencyCompany never completed the work requestedI have contacted company at a minimum of times to get something done and my issues have still not been resolved

I would not recommend this company to anyone There practices are very shady They did not have a physical contract for me to review upon installation They would not let me cancel my contract based on Saturday being a business dayEven after they did not reveal all the terms of the contract and signed me up for a higher price than I was quoted over the phone The company runs a credit check without clearly revealing this to the customer My equipment was faulty when installed It has been a nightmare dealing with this company's customer service department They have not been willing to make amends on anything ADT needs to diassociate themselves with this company DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED

This company refused to allow me to cancel an installation appointmentThey have already charged me for this appointment, and they claimed they needed my husband to authorize the cancellation

I had moved to a new home and called to see what the cost was - I was quoted $+ tax If there was additional hardware to purchase, that would be extra The customer service person confirmed all of that
Technician comes to install the same equipment we had already bought and we wanted additional window sensors Technician stated that would be an additional $ I agreed
I find on my credit card bill an additional charge of $- which was never disclosed to me I call customer service and they said it was a reactivation fee They said they could help me by giving me $VISA gift cards, which have never arrived
When we purchased the equipment the first time at the old place, same story - technician says there is a $fee per camera So this is in fact, the second time I have had money taken from me without any forewarning

This company is part of ADT Security Systems I contracted with them back in when I lived in New York, the contract was for years When I moved from New York in I was told I could transfer my service which I didI was also told that the contract would start all over again from the beginning I am now moving to another location in Georgia and was told the same story that the year contract will start all over again This is outrageous! I am only moving minutes from where I am now Also if I wish to cancel this service I must then pay the balance for the next years What type of customer service is this I would never recommend ADT to anyone There is no other alarm companies who make you sign a year contract I would finish out my contract term but ADT will not allow me to do so even if I am only moving minutes away from where I live now, and stated I must sign a new contract for yearsDefinitely not!
