I truly don't understand how this company has an A+ rating unless Revdex.com is no longer a reliable resourceWe ordered service from these guys after purchasing a new construction homeI will say that the technician was on time and extremely polite but that's the end of the good part He began to sell us a system that as far as I could tell was extremely overpriced and far beyond what we actually needed His statements were full of contradictions in how he would describe a type of forcible entry but back it up with saying well if they entered that way then this other feature would detect them all the while talking down about the other feature such as the motion sensors After everything was all said and done we decided to cancel within the day cooling off period, which I highly suggest you do as early as possible, but they refused to cancel the account The first excuses I heard was that they didn't receive the fax First of all who really uses faxes anymore? Wouldn't it would have been better to request a docusign signature for cancellation or do it in the form of a secure pdf emailed back to them To make matters worse they didn't have a problem taking money from my account before the ink dried but took well over weeks to refund my money which I actually haven't received yet
The new technician with a different local owned business was so *** off that they were creating a bad name for ADT as a whole was livid He couldn't believe the equipment we were sold and kept asking if we had been broken into as the tactics used on us are the same tactics you would use on burglary victims since they are in a vulnerable state When cancelling I told him they gave me a hour window to have the equipment removed and sent the tech who installed the system and he showed up minutes before the end of the appointment window He said it's a method called slowrolling They hope you will get frustrated and cancel the appointment thus missing the cancellation window/agreement
In the end I would suggest anyone steer clear of this company and look for other local dealers with a better track record They currently hide behind the name of Defenders or Protect Your Home Their customer service is extremely rude and they have a bait an switch method in their sales tactic The rep we had sold us motion sensors and smoke detectors, way too many for our size home and layout, but only installed the smoke detectors The new company that came out didn't charge for equipment, a savings of almost a $1,000, gave us better quality hardware, and provided no installation fees and a lower monthly rate If you use Defenders remember you were warned

The installation of the system went well I was surprised at the cost due to the fact that I was replacing another systemThe old system was not removed hence I have a large metal box in my closet that is hooked up to god knows what, in any event it looks like a box of spaghetti, I trust it is not a fire hazard Your customer service department has been very helpful

After phone calls to ADT today as of SEPT 25th, been hours so far I have noticed that their security advisor was from Defender Company From what I see and went Thur the whole process, their security advisor is the new ADT sales representativeI was offered for a certain price for monthly fee, but the bill comes out higher than offered from the actual security advisor who's really trying to sell the service promisedI never sign any contract with them but according to them I did sign the contractThey said they will send me a copy of my contract to me without my email since they never had it and never asked me for my email addressThe only paper I see was the installation paper without the actual name and with a massive amount of equipment fee that I was told it won't be charge to me but apparently that is also a lieAs of now I feel like this whole process is a fraud, The company put my credit card down as automatic payment without telling me or asking me for it, at the same time they send out bills saying I have to pay for the same time and same amount with a check too, thats call Double chargeI am considering paying an attorney to get ride of the service with ADT for all the fraud and horrible customer serviceI will never do anymore business with ADT

0n November 9,2018, I spoke to the sales department re an advertisement sales mailing that offered a special pricing to former ADT clients ($19.95/ month for months).On Saturday, November 10th, the installer entered my to begin installation of the advertised systemHe removed my current AT&T and installed an ADT wireless padHe then did a risk survey of the house and showed me how the system worksThe problem was that the salesman never informed me that the special price was for use with a landline only and it appears that the installer did not know either because the key pad that was installed was for a wireless system that cost $per month.After discussion with the installer and his managers, I informed them that I was not happy with the bait and switch sales tactic that was being used I then requested the installer to remove ADT and replace my AT&T padI was then informed by the installer that he had clipped my AT&T wires to fit the ADT pad and he would not

I have another alarm system with another company I understand and explained that I understood about cellular monitoring and that this other company waited to explain that it would be more per month for this wireless system Kevin/Tony assured me that this would not occur and that it would be 27.99/month
They came to install and I was told it would be per month for cellular monitoring I explained what was agreed upon and was told that this was not the case I went ahead with install because this was not the installer's fault

they advertised a home security package of adt that includes key pads, key fabs, door and window sensors, a smoke detector and a motion sensor as well as outdoor cameras, to be installed for the price of $and monitored for $per month, the tech came to my house and only installed one key pad the key fabs and door and window sensors and told my wife that it would cost over a thousand dollars to install the rest of the equipment when I called the company to inquire as to why the cameras where not installed they told me that they haven't done outdoor cameras in over years which is contrary to what they advertise

I was interested in a security system so I called ADT They had a deal with a bunch of free equipment and a decent monthly bill The technician showed up said the free stuff would only cover a very small portion of the house After he did a site survey he told my wife we'd need about $worth of equipment She told him we absolutely would not be spending $ She called me and I spoke to the technician and said he could come back and I would talk to him to see if we wanted the service and equipment After the call my wife asked him to leave He insisted on leaving the equipment at the house and was very aggressive and predatory about it He came back the following weekend and did another site survey were I told him we didn't need certain items that he had on the original quote Still, the quote came to $ I told him that we didn't want to pay that much and that we wouldn't be getting the equipment or the service He got very angry with me and couldn't believe I ask

I needed an alarm system installed and choose ADT the advertisement says per month in large numbersWhen I received my bill it was for because I needed a land lineI realized I should have read the small print on the advertising and I did not read the contract for the amount some how I still thought I would be paying the installer also signed me up for auto billing which I did not wantDefender an second party for ATD I did not know that either said there was nothing they can do to get me out of a three year account or change my billing amount ADT says in days the account with Defender will be over and than they take over the account I did not know that

A defender representative call me and wanted to sell me their alarm and monitoring serviceI informed her that I already had monitoring service in which I pay for and that I did not want to pay for their serviceshe stated to me that even though I didn't have a land line she would still let me have their service for I said if thats so I'll take it When the tech installed there system he presented me with a contract that stated monthly service fee would be a month for three years(note) there was no fine print for me to read over and agree or not to agree at this timeI called Defenders to correct this problemThey stated that there would be no changes in the price for the next three yearsSince the alarm system was on in for an hour and I had three days to cancelI told them that I didn't want it and that they could come and get it and reconnect my pre existing alarm systemThey told me that they were not responsible for any damages or reconnection ma

I contacted ADT online to find out about a security motion camera I was told that they would have someone contact me A install tech., called and I asked him if there was a contract with the camera I was told no and if I didn't like the camera that I could cancel the service He came to my home and said that he could install the camera and also install whole house security system at no extra charge Again I asked him if there be a contract and he told me no I let him install the motion camera and the whole house security system The house alarm went off the next day and I had a panic attack because I couldn't remember what to do so ADT contacted me and told me how to turn it off I haven't used it since the first day because I have PTSD and the alarm triggers me The motion camera hasn't worked right since the first day I called a man who said he could come to my home and he never showed up ADT wants me to pay $for a early cancellation fee I was scammed becaus

An installer came to my house on 10/20/and stayed for hours and did not complete the job Robert indicated to me that he was going to install cameras on the exterior of our house We were then told hours later, he was advised not to He could not place my security system that was still active back into service because he did not know how to He damaged wires, transformer and outlets due to his lack of experience I had to contact my current security company who came out and replaced all of the damaged components and told me that the ADT technician really messed up so many things Side Note - The employee told us he had only been doing this type of work for weeks and was never properly trained This is a huge liability for a company and also a huge liability to me the consumerI have reached out to Defenders and unfortunately they have not contacted me to discuss further
