The representative completely lied about the service to be performedDamaged my house and installed completely wrongADT themselves came out and were astounded about how bad this was
Original call approximately 5/29/started with finding out if a landline was necessary for the service of home alarm, told them that there was no landline at the location and would not be a landline, there would be internet connection approximately days from original phone call Advised that a landline was not necessary but the price I called in on was for landline only but they had another price for internet connectionThis was acceptable An appointment was set for 6/2/18, the contract was listed in my name but my husband was at the premises for the initial visit and setting up of the equipment I was told that since we would not have internet at the time of signing we would need to have the services under the g network and the cost of that would be more but as soon as the internet connection was available we were advised to make sure that the digital line was activated so we would not continued to be charged for the g network and back to the agreed amount I was als

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.
While this experience has been very frustrating, I have found someone to help me and really appreciate Ms. *** for her involvement and willingness to investigate this matter and get the issues resolved
They sent someone out October to correct the problems with the installation and I am satisfied with the results.

This letter is in response to the complaint #*** filed by *** ***By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT
We have researched into Mr***’s complaint and located his accountOur records show we addressed these issues back on September 2014. We had received this same complaint from ADT’s corporate office and spoke (via email) with Mr*** back on September 17, 2014. At that time I apologized for all the troubles he experienced while trying to obtain a service appointment. I provided the correct customer service telephone numbers, tech support numbers, email info and my direct contact number. I provided a $Visa gift card and a refund of months service fees for his troubles.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the consumer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address his concerns

this is the worst company I've ever had to deal withI canceled after the first dayThis company is so unprofessionalIts been more then a month since they received back their equipment and they still won't refund me the money
the said their employee forgot to tell them that he took the equipment back, they said they would fix it I called again today ( a week later) and they still haven't had fixed the issue with their employeeThey owe me $and they want me to wait ANOTHER weeks to see a refund
this company wants to take your money and they want to con you

I purchased and paid for a complete home security package on 2/18/after getting confirmation from both sales rep and install tech that system would meet my requirement's for a full home protection inside and out
at time of install I was told by tech camera would be available weeks from that date since 2/I have been constantly told camera was on its way since than I am told at least once a month sometimes that camera's were on order waiting to come in I called main headquarters on 5/and was told camera's were discontinued and would not be available at all since April 1'st yet tech has continually told me it was on the way when I told headquarters I wanted a full refund of all money I spent saying they could not fulfill their end of contract for full service home security I was told just go to a different company for the camera and I would not be reimbursed my moneybottom line is company offered a service I paid for said service and when company could not
On December 1, this company charged my *** *** credit card a $installation feeAfter installing a non working alarm system on 12-and charging my *** *** credit card an additional $and$78.38, I cancelled the contract within days and asked for a refundAfter getting no response from them about when they would pick up the equipment and give my a refund, I contacted *** *** asking for them to intervene On 12/23/ one of the managers from Defender came and picked up the equipment and called the account office while he was here to request a refund be issued immediately
I checked my credit card statement and saw that *** *** had issued me a credit for all three Defender transactions and stated that they will notify the company for a refund I started receiving numerous calls daily from Defender starting around January 11th When I was finally able to answer the call, I was told that they credited me back $and that I now owe them $
Very poor experience I find their business practices unethical and not in the customer favor I have had nothing but problems with their security system since it was installed it doesn't work well enough to protect my home I find that their contract terms and conditions are unfair You only have days to cancel your contract and you also have to pay 75% of remaining balance After days they transfer you to a different company for servicing of your home security system After months they will transfer your account over to a different company completely I thought I was actually dealing with that different company and not Defenders from the start I feel like they are deceptive, I feel cheated, and I feel that they are unfairly marking up the value of their systems to provide customers with a sense of security I did sign their contract so I will deal with them an continue to resent it every time the subscription for the service comes out of my account or I have to call them to fix another issue with my home security system
We were blatantly lied to by the technician that came outOur mother passed away so we wanted a short term contract on her home until it was soldHe said no problem the contract is transferable to the new owners
Apparently not so After many many hours on the phone with Defenders I had to pay the remainder of the contract and the new owners had to start a new one
I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone
The company sold me a "free" home security system $28.99/monthWhens the installation technician came he tried to non-stop upsell my wife around $worth of equipmentAfter she kept telling him no and she was uncomfortable she had him call me at workhe kept lowering the price and would not take no for an answer after continuing to tell him I just wanted the basic systemit took over minutes of me telling him no and him continuing to say that he isn't a sales man to me I finally had to tell him to get out of my house before he proceeded to install the basic systemonce it was installed he left, my wife called me to tell me that its going to cost $53/monthI called to cancel service immediately, come get the equipment and refund our money They said they were going to email me a for to cancel servicethey never sent an email so I had my wife call in a day later to see what was going on They then told her we needed to write a letter and fax it in to cancel serviceI
In the summer of I received a flyer from ADT about turning my existing alarm back on I have had alarm at two different homes and I never had any problems with ADT The only reason that I turned my off was because I received a letter from my local sheriff office stated that they do not respond to home alarms any longer At the time we were going to be taking a trip in August so I thought this would be a good idea The first apt was made and gentlemen came out to my home to get my old system up and working, after hours they were still working on it and I had to leave so they stated that would schedule to come back because they needed to order something anyway I never heard from the company about setting up a new apt so I called back and they sent out a different rep He stated that my old system would not work and that he had to install a new wireless system He started the install process but again he never finished the installation He stated that he would have to
I had an ADT security system installed after a High Pressured Salesman came to my house and stated that I could call and cancel the service within days and my money would be refunded and the system would be removed and I would not be responsible for the year contract After determining that I did not want the security system anymore I called to cancel within the day time frame The company said that I had to write a letter and send it in to cancelI did so soon after hanging up After and weeks of mailing the letter I followed up with the cancellation department They stated that they have not received the letter and therefore it cannot be cancelled within the day time period and that I was responsible for the year contract (which I never received a copy of)

The first customer service representative got it totally wrong and emailed me a cancellation notice I just wanted my original documents The second representative got it right, and I was able to print out what I needed
I cancelled my agreement within the days, fax a copy to them a d called themThey charhed me and now are refussing to cancel because the mail was posted marked the next day

After repeated attempts to repair my system, it was determined that it was not able to be supported and that they would release me of my contractI spoke to the local service manager, Adam, who said it should all be taken care ofI called customer service to confirm and the lady I spoke to on August 16th said that Adam only noted it on the work order but not the account so she was sending him an email for confirmation and that once she received his response, she could back date my cancellation months since that was the most she could back date the account and that I would receive the creditI had been dealing with problems with my system since it was installedI only received a partial months creditAfter repeated calls, I was told I would have to speak with the manager that cancelled the account, Melissa, and was given her numberAfter repeated calls and messages directly to her, I am at a loss on how to get the credit I was told I would receive on August 16th
Contract clearly says $per month for security charges Witnessed discussion with sales/tech agent confirmed total price per month Then found them planning to charge $78/month Further, $"rebate" in form of gift card to be given Card will only be supplied with application for rebate sent in with a $handling fee payable only by money order or cashier's check, creating a significant hurdle and reducing value of rebate to $less the cost of getting those forms of payment This was AFTER agreeing to significant upselling of the product
We had the security system installed, it was hooked up to the internet, and I didn't want that, it was going to cost $plus tax but he said it wouldn't be a problem to change it to the phone line later which was $he came back and hooked it to the phone line we signed the contract for $but they kept billing us $a month plus tax comes $a month since AprilThey said they never received the paper work from the installer
We have called them every month since April to have this price adjusted, but still has not been fixedI called August 25th they said a email would be sent in days so we could sign to change the price, it's August 30th still no email, so I called again today, they claim they are back logged, so they don't know when I will receive the email or mail, but the continue to over bill me, and the owe us quit a bit of moneyHow hard is it to send a email, and correct this problemI have given them over ample time to correct this problemI want
The business is overcharging me when I am only to be paying $27.99/monthly as stated in the signed contract along with the information provided by the representative I was also paying for services that I was not even able to use because the technician did not install the sensors in my home correctly
