I called Defenders Inc at the beginning of to have a security system installed Over the phone, they quoted me a price for security installation and said that there may be add-ons to the price My understanding was that I would be able to safely secure my home for the base price which was a few hundred dollars In addition, I would be paying a monthly fee of $ I also understood that I had a period of time to rescind my order with all of my money back if there was any reason I was not satisfied with the system I was ok with this deal
On the day of installation our installer, CS***, said he needed to install the wall unit first thing After he did this, he went through my home and discussed how to properly secure it When all was said and done, he quoted me a price of well over $just for the monitoring system This did not include the monthly $with a year contract

When initially signing up with defenders/ADT I was informed if I moved to a new address where an alarm system is not allowed or cannot be installed then my contract would be cancelled and I further fees or penalties incurred

ADT Defenders is one of the worst companies when it comes to customer care, billing, and product quality I was having billing issues in September after multiple requests in months prior for the company to send me a bill in the mail to which I understood the charge of a small service fee to my address on file so that I could call at my convenience and make my payments over the phoneI had to call ADT directly in order to get someone to pay attention to me and my billing issuesI even asked ADT to buy out my contract with Defenders because, the amount of atrosis problems I was having with DefendersRepswould hang up phone on purposewhen you asked a question that was too difficult reps would hang up, reps would argue over the phoneetcAfter, speaking with a supervisor with ADT and Defenders customer Care I was told that September billing month would be taken care of after all the, "hassle" I had been throughAfter this, I never received a collection call until Dece

After I contacted ADT from the flyer I have I was told that the amtwould be $99., I explained I would not have the money until 3/28/18, I spoke with Tariah S*** #I immediately got a call back offering me installation for $45.00, I agreed and set the date of installation 3/15/ After the equipment was installed I was asked what date could they take payment from my bank acctI agreed to 4/1/because I live off fixed income and the first of each month I get my moneywell, the next day they stole $out of my acctwhich overdrew my acct I explained this to the installer that I did not want payment on the 19th When I saw my account with no money I called ADT and was given the Defender 800-689-9554, I called and spoke to Maggie #who transferred me to and Manager Thelma 866-746-I asked why they stole my money she was rude and told me to send in the cancellation form and my money would be returnedI went and faxed the form on 3/17/and waited until t

I signed up for home security system with monthly monitoring service of $a month how ever when the tech came and installed the system he stated he had no paperwork to give me that it would be emailed to meI asked several times that it cost $a month to confirm, which the tech Donald S*** confirmed, he then proceeded to put a inch in diameter hole in my freshly painted wall for the keypad even though I confirmed that it should have gone through my phone lineWhen the tech left I checked my email and saw the contract stated $a month and a signature that was not mineI called Adt- protect your home and they stated they would come back tomorrow and down grade meThe following day a different tech came with a smaller key pad which didn't even cover the hole and stated the previous tech should not have made that hole in my wallAt this point I canceled my serviceI found this to be a bait and switch from what I thought was a reputable company and I was very disapp

I had an alarm system installed on the 20th of May Since then I have had two different service men at my home to repair the system besides the original installer that's within a week and a half The system has finally been repaired so it seems so far But the inconvience and undo stress of the faulty system because I went out of town and couldn't use the system because of multiple alarms after being told for a second time it was working properly It took a third tech to repair the system The purpose of this system was to keep my house safe from a particular person while I was out of town and the company was told that before installation and at the second attempt to repair system

This letter is in response to the complaint #*** filed by *** ***By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT
We have researched into Ms***s complaint Our records show a refund of $was released on 8/20/for the double chargeWe also provided a refund of $to cover months monitoring charges, and that check was issued 8/16/2014. Finally, we did provide the customer with $in Visa gift cards to compensate for her troubles
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the consumer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns

I was so furiousI was lied to and scammed into signing a year contractThey KNEW they couldn't provide me with what I wantI spoke with April employee #the account service manager on July 9, said she was going to expedite my refund of $and $immediatelyAlmost weeks later, NOTHING!! I've called and called and I get the complete run aroundIf I could cancel, I wouldI will tell everyone to avoid this company

Last week I called for a simple quote which they gave meHowever in order keep the price/quote they required that a hold be placed on my banking account for $plus tax which they assured me would not be charged until we booked hebservice and would drop off if decided not to go with themThe day following the call for the quote, I received an email from my credit monitoring service they Defenders checked my credit! When after visits when they could not fix it, they cancelled my service and I stopped getting billsThey also gave me a $gift card to somewhat compensate the money I had already paid to themEverything was okie so far
But after about months, I started getting calls from Protect your home saying that I need to make my paymentsI called them back and explained how ADT had cancelled my service themselves so I should not be asked to pay for the contract cancellationThe agent said he will verify this with ADT, but I kept on getting system calls like everydaySoemtimes I would pick
