As I understand it, ADT has Defenders under their umbrella in the Jacksonville area I responded to a mooffer after my family moved to Jacksonville for $ After a lengthy phone call with ADT, I was able to schedule a technician to come for an estimate and installation I knew that the price of the equipment would be steep, as I had been told by customers of ADT, so while I would have appreciated that aspect on the offer, I was not surprised The technician was not efficient He went on with stories about his dogs, his high school days, etcDespite all his talking, the technician would not answer any of my questions about billing He simply repeated that ADT handled that end He also never mentioned that the $offer only applied to homes with a landline but he did hand me a contract for $56/month after he was done installing the equipment This was on a weekend, but I called ADT asap the following Monday to get an explanation Only then did I learn that the plan I had signed up for did not fit the criteria for the $offer because of my not having a landline Again, the technician never brought this up at all I was eventually transferred to a supervisor at ADT who offered me two visa gift cards and to reduce my monthly bill to $ I found this a fair compromise, so I accepted that and another technician came to my home the following weekend with an updated contract for me to sign
But, I am still being charged $a month I have tried several times to correct the situation with ADT, but they only have record of the original contract Even after I sent screen shots times of the new contract, I have not received a response
But that is not all Last month, one of the batteries on a siren caused an alert Not a huge deal - the technician had given us his number and said to text if anything like this occurs So we texted and he said he would be by on noon the following Saturday to check it out He never came When I texted him at that day, he said he forgot and was out of town, so could not help We set up an appointment for the same time the following Saturday, same thing He was out of town No excuse No apology We had stayed home and cancelled plans two Saturdays in a row, no thanks to this service After three weeks and more phone calls, ADT set up an appointment to have the siren serviced Who came to the door? The original technician who installed our equipment and left us hanging two weekends in a row I was not happy to see him

I had contact with this company this evening and wanted to have someone come out just to go over equipment options and to give me a price The first guy I talked to wanted my social security number I would not give it to him He got someone who said he was the manager, he wanted my credit card number to pay $for them to come out and give me a price quote Just to get a price, they claim they need my social and credit cardOn their website it has the Revdex.com logo but when I put in the business on your website it says it is not Revdex.com accredited I just want to warn people about this company

I am in contract with ADT for alarm servicesDefenders has been harassing me daily for $payment which they say is for payment for alarm permit to the City of San DiegoI have spoken several times to the San Diego Police Department and they did not receive a payment and there is no permit for our residenceDefenders is calling me daily for payment for a permit I did not receive and which the SDPD does not have record ofI called Defenders with this information but they were no help

I would not recommend this companyThey lied about the package deal I would be getting for ADT home securityThe package I was signing up for included wireless sensors or wired sensors, Two remotes, key pad, siren and two door sensorsIt was also supposed to come with a $visa gift cardThe technician that came up was super helpful and friendly but I was in for a surprise when I found out that the $a month package I thought I was getting wouldn't work for me and that I would need more sensors and then have to pay $a month due to not having a phone lineThe package deal was not what they made it sound likeI ended up paying $more to get what was needed and then to top it off they didn't explain how the gift card worksI have to print out a forum send it in with a money order and also pay for shipping and handlingThat does not give you back the $that was promised when I signed upI called to complain about this and the ADT lady was very nice and said that she would have to transfer me over to Defenders who is promoting the gift cardThe lady on the phone basically laughed at me cause I was complaining about not getting all the money and how I have to spend more money and take time out of my day to get the cardIf I had known all this up front I would have chose another serviceThe costumer service is rude and they did not resolve anything for meThey hide information and then blamed it on the technician and said she should have told me about itWhen I brought it up to her she was unaware of how I would be receiving said gift cardShe was under the impression that ADT would be sending it not Defenders

they have only one contract available which is way too long and not rightthey also "can't" disarm the system right away to get another bill out of you which they did to be illegally since I cancelled auto pay and took all my credit cards off my accountBecause I have pets I was only able to get the window break system which would go off all the timesomeone came out to fix it and it stopped going off all the time but would still go off because of wind and I stopped being able to arm the system from my houseunreliable the window break box is unreliable and would go off because of wind

I installed ADT Security in our home on Feb 9th, Our contract with dealer number 2938065, monitoring account number *** (hand writing is a little ineligible), and dealer's license number on 2/9/states that we are to pay a monthly charge of $ To date we have been charged the following: 2/6/2017-$105.93, 2/13/2017-$85.62, 2/13/2017- $107.00, 3/10/2017-$56.70, 4/11/2017- $56.70, 5/10/2017- $ I have called a few times now stating that these charges were not corrected and told that they will be corrected within to business days and that I will get a refund This has never happened and I continue to get billed the incorrect amount I have also stated since signing with ADT or Defenders the authorized dealer that I need to receive a bill for this and to not automatically withdraw this out of my account due to the incorrect billing amounts They continue to bill me automatically I have no choice but to physically call my credit card company and

I was advised upon installation that the account could be placed on hold indefinitely without being billed until construction was completed on my homeI was only rentingThe representative advised despite the contract terms all I had to do was call and request the alarm to be "frozen" until further noticeI called to do so and was advised that days was the max amount and the alarm could only be placed in test modeEvery time I call for a cancelation fee amount I am given a different amountToday I was told the cancelation offer was only good at that moment and if I didn't give them payment information "right now" the fee price would expire and be increased from 50% of the remaining contract to 75% of the remaining contract

RUN FROM THIS COMPANY...they did classic bait and switch when they installed the "wireless" system that was supposed to be a land line to get the $rate The technician never said anything about the land line until the rate of $was on the contract When I didn't sign they lowered the bill to $and sent a technician out to remove mobile access (something I had with Brinks) My tenant signed something for the technician but he never changed the system so the contract is still at $54...by hook or by crook they get you NOT HAPPY!!!

On April 29th I had an alarm system installed at my homeIt cost around $4,After the installation I decided I was not comfortable with the cost, so I called to cancel it within the cancellation periodOn May 4th a technician came to uninstall the system, but because I was a new customer he offered to speak to his manager to lower it by half the price, roughly $2,000, and if I agreed to remove some devices he could lower the price to $1,I agreed to the price I was givenI asked for an overview of what had been done, but he said he would send it through email insteadThe following Monday I called customer service to confirm the price I had been provided with, they said the pricing was correct and I should receive my refund within business daysOn May 22nd I still didn't receive the refund, so I called customer service once more and they had no information on the refundOn May 23rd they changed the amount they said they would refund, and they said they would only refund

Defenders is a rip offWe contacted them to transfer my daughters service to a new addressThey opened a new account and are charging us double each monthAfter realizing what they had done they told us it was legal and we would have to pay both services instead of correcting their errorWe have been verbally abused, hung up on, put on hold many times and been on the line for hours at a time only to be told its too bad we are going to pay anywayI can't believe with only positive reviews and negative reviews Revdex.com gives them an A+ ratingThey are crooks and getting away with itWe had no idea we were doing business with Defenders as we called ADT for serviceIt seems they use defenders and buy the contract back after one yearStay away from Defenders and ADT!!! Defenders, Incis a highly unethical ADT resellerTheir sales reps blatantly lie as to the functionality of the equipment, service and contract termI see several negative reviews of this company on Revdex.com.org, ***, and various online consumer review sites, and quite frankly, should have done more research before allowing this company to service my security system
The first issue is serviceI spent months battling anxiety from a faulty system that repeatedly alerted me in the middle of the night due to "poor signal"I called several times to address this issue, only to be told it was due to a faulty cell tower in the areaFinally I was able to get a true technician from ADT direct to come out who said the main unit was never installed properlyAlarm systems are supposed to provide peace of mind, not the opposite
The fact that the unit was never installed properly was further proven when I received a call from ADT (after it was fixed) notifying me that my alarm was set off

I called ADT to get a home security system installed at a veteran home I operate under the nonprofit HOBS for combat veterans living with PTSD and TBI We are a 501ctax exempt, both federal and state I stated what I needed in a system, to include an outside camera and all doors and windows alarmed They took an immediate authorization on our credit card for $plus tax, while stating that would be changed, since we were tax exempt Then the service tech shows up and tells me to do what I want, will cost another $3,and instead of $39/month, it will now be $59/monthThey also promised that since I was a veteran I would get a $Visa Card from the technician Today they charged me another $20+ dollars and want another $plus tax on Monday, when they install the outside camera

I recently purchased a home, and I received a flyer for ADT home security services for $per month, $equipment charges, and a $installation charge This flyer also suggested I would obtain a $Visa gift card
I called (what I believed to be ADT, but is a actually a 3rd party distributer named "Protect Your Home") to initiate The installation was scheduled for Monday, January 9th
The installation rep came, and after already installing some of the equipment, I was told the cost would be $per month and there were going to be approximately $of equipment chargesI told him I was not interested, I did NOT want this service, and to please leave and take all of the equipment
The installation rep then made a call to his "manager", and he suggested he would come back on Tuesday with new equipment to downgrade my service to the $per month as suggested in the ad, and there would be no equipment charges, again as promised in the advertisement

I had the alarm system installedThen the amounts debited from my bank account increased from the amount given to me at installation
I had my alarm system installed back in June or JulyAt that time I was given a quote of a monthAll was going well they sent me a contract because they said I never signed one during the installationThe contract said a month so I called them because the amount on the contract and the debited amounts did not matchThey told me I had a feature called Pulse which I never ask forBy this time they had started debiting around a monthThey told me I could cancel system since I had not yet signed the contractI told them if they gave me the original amount we had agreed on at installation I would stay with the companyThey came out took off the Pulse feature and a new contract for $a monthNow
last month and this month they have overcharged me they credit my account $for last month but this month I am just over itI ca

these guys are terrible.....terrible installation ability.....terrible customer service......misleading....bait and switch artists

Very unhappy These people lie and tell you that you will get a system for free A technician came and quoted me $ and said with the credit they gave me, my total cost was going to be $and then $and then finally charged me $ Also, they promised I was going to get a $gift card when installation happens I was sent an email instructing me to download a certificate, fill that certificate, make a copy of the contract page and mail using regular mail along with $cashier's check for shipping They do this to discourage people from getting their promised $ The sales guy told me that the technician was going to give me the gift card when he came to do the installation
Very annoyed and unhappy I suggest you go to ADT and deal with them directly You will definitely pay less
I wonder how many people they scam into paying them $for the same thing I paid $for and I also wonder what the same setup would've costed me if I'd gone with ADT directly
