The technician that installed the system recommended a heat/fire sensor in our attic When the weather got warm it continued to set our alarm off We didn't know where the alarm was, only that it was zone 45, but Defender never recorded what zone was what When we had the first ADT technician out he told us we would have to buy and install an attic fan The second technician just spent 1/hours to identify each zone and he immediately removed the attic sensor and said it should have never been place in the attic as that is not accepted procedure When I contacted Defender to refund me for the sensor that should have never been placed there, the operator claimed they don't refund equipment over days oldWe have had this in days with at least fire alarms going off due to the fact it was installed in a place that it wasn't supposed to be The technician today said we should be "reimbursed for the sensor that was inappropriately installed and a lot more " To make
I was put on another 3yrwithout my permission Service tech told me that system could be turned back on without doing so as approved by his boss
I had system put in May at rental home and was told that it belonged to me and if I moved I could take it with me I purchased home and took it with me and installed it myself at new residence I called ADT to come turn it back on and when tech showed up I informed him that all I wanted was for it to be turned back onHe told me that I would have to sign a new contract I told him that I was not and that if he could not just turn it back on that we would just leave it alone He then called his boss and told me it was approved to turn system back on without signing a new contract So this was done, after turning it on he asked me to sign his tablet because this was all he had for this job I informed him again that I was not signing a new contract and he told me that everything was good, not to worry because he had approval
We purchased a home alarm system through ADT on April 16, Unbeknownst to us, ADT contracted Defender to install the systemTheir installer informed us we needed a smoke detector in the atticSince we did not know and had never had an alarm system, we agreed to have this doneOnce the temperature hit on May 25th, 2016, the smoke alarm went off and the fire department was notified The alarm was a alarm due to the attic smoke detectorThe ADT technician then informed us, there should have never been a smoke detector in the attic as the rising heat will set it off As they installed other smoke alarms, there is no where else we need this detectorWhen I contacted Defender for a refund on the detector, they said I was out of the days warranty and they would not refund the money and disconnectedWhen I contacted ADT, ADT said it was Defenders issue and their was nothing they could do
Protect Your Home has the worst customer service people and installersI happily called to setup an installation and they said an installer would visit my home two days laterI was impressed that they were able to set up new service so quickly On the day of the installation, I waited for most of the window but nobody showed upWhen I called Protect Your Home, they said that I didn't have an installation for the dayAfter a little back-and-forth they indicated that they still can get somebody out there the same dayLater that day an installer showed up and worked for several hours to install the panel and sensorsWhile the install left some extra holes in the wall that I now need to patch and paint, I was generally happy with the level of of effort to get the installation done, even though it took quite a while

Sales person lied and will not return calls Tommy said that I would have days to terminate contract He also failed to activate system immediately as promised Emergency contact were not called and home was broken into Contract was not honored and system did not work Local service providers will not return calls and I can not get confirmation to discontinue service with refund of payments Absolute worst service I have ever received
We called ADT to inquire about specific security equipment we wanted in our homeUpon arrival at our home the technician did not have all of the equipment and we did not move forward with installation until he got his supervisor on the phone to verify that they would provide the equipment agreed upon in our initial request The supervisor (Joshua) assured us that he would contact us Friday to let us know when the remaining equipment would arrive and be installed We received no call from him and had to reach out to the technician because we did not have a way to contact Joshua We were told the additional cameras would arrive today Again, we did not receive a call so we had to reach out to them only to find out that they were not going to honor what they promised Now, of course we are outside of the "day" cancellation window, although we told them Friday (the 3rd day) that we wanted to discontinue the service if they were not going to provide what they had promised They int

My equipment costs wer just under $including tax which I opted for their payment flex pay optionOn Monday the full cost was charged to my bank account when only was to be chargedI called on Tuesday to get the remaining payments refundedThey claimed the technician needed to initiate the refundAn email was sent to the technician and his supervisor to get the refund completeddays later, still no update or refundCalled them back to check on the statusWas told that someone will call me backNo phone call backI called again weeks later and still no update and no refundFinally after the 4th call they initiated the refund process and I was told that it was to be expedited and I should have my refund within 3-business daysOn the 5th business day I called back to be sure my refund
When I purchased the security system I informed the sales rep that I already had a fire permit for my previous system They said no problem Since I have had the system installed I have been sent a bill for a fire permit The fire marshall has not issued a new permit because I still one that is valid until 9/30/ I spoken to representatives on numerous occasions to explain this situation to them and I even scanned and faxed over a copy of my permit their representative However, I am still getting phone calls on this bill and I am told that it is in collections When I try to call the permit department I only get voicemail to leave a message and no one returns my phone call I am not going to have my credit ruined because they applied for a permit that was not necessary

I’ve been on the phone with defenders expressing my issue for almost a month and no progress is being madeI was told months ago when I had the system installed if there would be an ETF the tech numerous, numerous times told me noHis name is Shane R*** and I as well to be sure spoke to the manager Shane B*** both assured me at the time due to my possible future issues which have arose that there would be no ETF within months if I cancelledAgain I asked a lot of times to be sureI am now extremely past my wits end with the lies and runaround this company is invoking on meI was mislead and now I’m being told that I’ll have to pay over 1k for a lie that I didn’t createIt’s not rightIt’s also not right that when I refuse to pay it’s going to hurt me for years to comeI’m and do not want a bad credit score because two people lied to me on behalf of this company as well as no one willing to help customers like me in this situation

We had received a marketing postcard in the mail, called ADT and they assigned Defenders are our local dealerI don't recall the name of the salesperson who came to our home but he was very professional, polite and just doing what he was trained to do (which is why I gave stars and not just star like this company deserves)
First thing they do when they come in --- drill a hole into your wall, install the keypad and THEN sit down with you and talk about priceBEWARE! Do not let them drill or install anything, lesson learnedThat should of been a red flag for me but going off of ADT's reputation, I ignored those red flagsNext, the free equipment I was to receive, quickly became over $1,000k which they don't tell you about in advanceSo with a hole and a keypad on your wall it's either pay that or downgrade to below what they were offering for free and even then, I still had to pay out $for "Free Equipment"Now, our salesrep did offer some good advice which we also added - by going with a sim card vs landline as the landline can be cut from the outside causing the alarm to not respond to the monitoring station and we gladly paid for that upgrade but there are lots of hidden fees and fine print so do yourself a favor and read everything carefully
Fast forward, alarm system is in our home and then the keypad begins to act upThe door is wide open during the summer and suddenly the keypad wants to arm the doorWhen you try to cancel the arming process, the alarm soundsSo I called ADT - they couldn't tell me what is going on and had no record of any kind of alarmThey redirected me back to Defenders whom I tried for weeks to reach with no responseJust as a little test -- I submitted a new service request on the website and within an hour I got a call from someone wanting to make a new salePoint
They do not care about existing clients, only new onesIf you've already given them money, you are a priority but not as much of one as those first time customersThey only see dollar signsIt really scares me, ADT or Defenders had no idea what was happening with my alarm panelWhat if I was being held hostage or there was a real emergency? Just a very scary thoughtI do not recommend Defenders or ADT
This has to be the worst company you could ever do business withI called to set up service with ADT and had no clue that it was a third party companyI was informed that in order to set an appointment that I had to put a card on file for a $deposit, and that I wouldn’t be charged until my appointmentThey even gave me a technicians name and ID number that would be doing my installAs soon as the call ended my card was charged $106, and my credit was ranA few days later a tech pulled up in his personal car also not the technician I was toldand said he would be installing my systemHe immediately took my ADT system I already had down and stated it was out dated and had to be replacedHe tried up selling everything and when I declined he slapped a new panel, two smoke detectors, and a carbon monoxide detector on the wall He said he was done and asked for me to sign for the completion of the installOnce he was gone I received an email with a work order and contract that I did not sign, and it was completely different from what we discussedWent to make sure my windows were locked and all my sensors were missingEven the two I watched him install were gone, and the extra keychain remote I purchased was missingI called him immediately and he said he was sorry and that he would come back to finish and never came backI called customer service the same day and was offered to have someone else come out to install the sensors the next weekI called back because I never received a confirmation for my new appointment and was treated so badly that I cancelledThe senior manager came today to install the sensors and stated he new nothing about the cancellationWhen I asked where my other equipment was he informed me that it was thrown awayHe took a look at my system and was confused on where everything listed in my work order was and then told me that my motion detectors were not hooked up at allHe asked a few times if I would allow him to correct the issue at hand and I declinedHe stated he didn’t know that to do about my missing equipment and informed me to call customer serviceI called and was hung up on timesThe 7th call I was informed that she would have to connect me to the senior manager in my area because he would have to handle this issueIt was the same tech/manager that came to my homeThe agent asked him what was going on and he brought her up to speed on everythingShe stated she would file a claim with the loyalty team and they should reach out to me within hoursSomething didn’t sit right so I called back and was informed that no such thing was done and that I had to email someone about this issueAlso it can take days to receive an email even addressing thisI have wasted hours of my life, was charged for two months of service, a deposit of $an extra equipment fee of $(which I never received) All I am asking for is to have my equipment that was removed from my home (that I paid for) replaced, refunded for all my charges and my account canceled
