In late February I called Defenders (a.k.aProtect Your Home) to have my security system removed from my home since is was going to be moving into a new home in the same zip code It was going to be several months that I was not going to have the system installed so they set me up with a movers account (#***) and charged me $for reinstallation I made it known that I would not be in the new house until July or August and I was told that I would continue paying my payments every month until I had the system reinstalled at which time I would enter a new contract but I would not ever be charged a cancellation fee While trying to complete this process I was on the phone for over hours, transferred several times, hung up on and had to speak to different customer service agents Several of them gave me incorrect information or were extreamly rude on the phone This was by far the worst customer experience that I have ever had to deal with in my life! Protect Your Home/ADT advertised a $VISA gift card for security system installationUpon completion they sent me the gift card certificate along with instruction for redemption with their processor "*** ***" I had submitted all the necessary paperwork including the handling feeHowever *** *** denied the request giving the reason as "not approved"I wrote ADT, *** ***, and Protect Your Home, but with no results*** *** called and told me that they had consulted with Protect Your Home/ADT and my request is not "approved", and the gift certificate they sent was a mistake My own research of this issue had shown multiple complaints from other customers with regard to this advertisement
It was not MADE clear to me while showing me an electronic contract that my monthly fee had gone up from the verbal agreement of a month
I did not physically sign a paper contractThere is a fabricated signature on the document
The document says a different amount than I repeatedly confirmed verbally and now I cannot get the contract changed because it is past the days
There is no trust with people anymore when it comes to these kinds of transactions
I paid an additional and I got a hike in my monthly rate that was NOT CLEARLY VERBALLY or SHOWN to me- I was simply handed an iPad type device to say "Is this close to your signature?" And everything was completeI thought I was seeing a completion document and NOT A COMMITMENT TO A MONTHLY FEE
It should have been CLEARLY STATED "Your monthly fee goes up because ________."
I am now calling ADT to find out why I can't have the advertised fee that had me call in the first place and I even paid mor

Read the fine printtheir polices and terms of agreement are to DEFEND themselvesthey lie and one hand doesn't know what the other is doing I never received collection notices because they were sending the information to the service address which was sold months ago The email address was supposed to be updated months ago when I discovered their year contract information If you are moving your services, they will not continue the current serviceyou must sign up a new year term and pay the current higher from ADT fees In our case the security service was on a rental property that we sold prior to the year term The new owner would be required to sign up with ADT but it would be under a new year term We have another property that we are in process of putting in a Daycareand have agreed to have a landline for the service to be moved to, as soon as they get all the inspections completed Meanwhile, the move in service or install cant happen until the phone line is set up In this time you are required to pay the monthly monitoring fees with ADT at the higher rateon a property or service address that is non-existent DO NOT USE this companyI have had the run around for hours on the phone and their response is: well it is in your contract, your husband signed it They will get their moneyon a payment plan for the next years, when my original plan was due to expire Very frustrated and discussed Alarm systems are to keep predators out but these guys have full reign to steal SO SADI will think twice about ever having a monitored system I will buy my own cameras and use my cell to monitor, at least I can know who the real thieves are*** *** has wireless systems too!!!

On 8th / 10th of September I have talked with ADT service regarding new / first time security installationSecond time I have discussed with sales rep in detail and clearly told regarding $monthly security serviceHe said ok and told our installation is free and so many other option freeI told him can you send me email regarding what we have discussed and he did not sendWe schedule appointment for 20th Saturday evening
Technician came at PM on 20th and asked few question and one of them do you have land line phone, I said yes thru internet and we have smart phoneThan he started installation of key pad and he asked me what equipment you need, I said we agreed on phone, security equipment like sensor in all windows and door sensor for breakage He said you have dollar equipment free and what you told is about dollarThan he called his supervisor and he gave this discount and that discount and collected ext
ADT sent Defenders to our home to install security equipment January The sensor they put on our front door never worked, even after being replaced multiple times and having several technicians come out to try and fix it We finally cancelled our service in 3/28/ Sierra, an account manager with Defenders, told us that we would receive a full refund on all equipment, all installation fees and all service fees Defenders came out and took the equipment out of our home We were then refunded only for the equipment and installation fees We never received a refund for the service fees and in fact, were still be charged for service by ADT as recently as 4/20/ We called Defenders 4/23/18, spoke with Sam (ID # 19524) and were told that Defenders never submitted the cancellation or refund request to ADT but that they would go ahead and do it We called ADT today, 5/9/18, spoke with Michael (ID # 265772) and were told that Defenders notified ADT 4/24/that the account had
I got a call offering a free alarm system from Protect Your Home, informed the sales agent several times that I did not have a landline, was not going to get a landline, and he told me that if I accepted the appointment he would offer me the same discounted monthly fee for me, as if I had a landline, for under $monthly and with the year contract would lock in the price, get the free equipment, and get a promotional $gift cardLong story short, Protect Your Home had a contractor at my house sign the contract, which I was unaware of, and I received mail the following week stating my monthly wasa over $I called them, request full cancellation, and was told I was getting scheduled for a cancellationThe appointment came about weeks after, and I was told that it was a service call to explain why I was getting the over $chargeTo this day, they refuse to cancel my service, won't pick up their equipment, call me every day, and say I am binded to the contract, even though I wasn't aware someone had signed one until after a month and a half of calls to ADT, and I never authorized anyone to sign on my behalf and never signed anything myself
Defenders installed a security system as an authorized dealer for ADT at my residence The installer advised that he did not have the security cameras on hand An additional appointment would be needed to install them as advertised The installer provided extra equipment that I could trade as collateral to the next installer to receive the cameras free of charge with no further out of pocket expense (including activation fees) I have a written contract from the installer stating just so By this assurance I entered the year commitment with ADT It is now months later, Numerous phone calls, numerous call transfers to different departments, numerous emails to customer service, and numerous explanations on my part for having to demand a breach of contract and advertisement None of my emails were answered, and only just today did I finally get in contact with an escalated department personnel that reiterated she could not let me out of my contract for reasons unspecified
After another recent break-ins and learning IMPD’s theory is “no need for us to come out if robbery not in progress”, On Monday 7/18/I started contacting security companies for a home alarm system As ‘the leader in security systems’ as I was told, ADT had an advertisement in the paper so I called them first Speaking with Wendy, I learned security companies do not work like gutter companies and will NOT send a sales person out, instead they have sales people in their office that will create the “perfect package for your home” without ever investigating With all the “free” equipment they give you and as I passed their ‘credit check’, (yes I have a credit card) the monthly monitoring fee will be $for months, I told them no thanks at this time and continued to seek other companies

On July 7, I called ADT to have a security system installed in my home I did not know it was a third party that was installing the system Jeff from product your home came out to install the equipment I did not know he was not from ADT The first thing he started to install was smoke detectors and I told he we have hard wired smoke detectors, but he installed them anyway Next he installed windows senores, and door sensors He never asked me about the different packages they had When he was done I had over $in my home I called the next July 8,and once again Jeff came out I thought he was going to install the outside camera's but I was wrong again Why he was in my home I told him I did not want any of the equipment, but he just took out the smoke detectors and window sensors Once again I called the number and the told me that the outside camera's would be in Monday or Tuesday the next week and he would be out Friday to install the camera's
I only hope you find this before you are a victim and not afterHow ironic is it that you contract a security company to protect yourself from thieves just to be dealing with them

He did not leave until 9pm!
It is one long up-sellA had none of it including the monitoring again going up to $I was told by the installer and his manager that they would honor the $I was also told that "it might go up after months but at that time I could cancel
I even had the tech write this on my paper receipt
It meant nothingThey plan to charge $for years
Within hours the system failed and my wife and children were kept awake all night by the chirping
It was this that made me call through and I guess fortunately discover I had been lied to by several representatives about the rates and terms
You'd hope that cancelling would be the end but it only gets worseYou are given another number to cancel but this one you are left hanging onI went minutes before a human picked upI was told a cancellation form would be emailed to meREMEMBER YOU HAVE JUST DAYS TO ESCAPE THESE ROBBERS
The email did not comeI called the same evening and was told it had been sent.againNothingThird time I tell the person supposedly sending it to stay on line until it comes throughStill nothingThey are not sending anything because they want you trapped in their contract
At time of writing I have hours to escapeI have yet to speak to a single person who I trustI am completely convinced it is a giant racket

Collection harrassment
I got ADT in June I was on auto pay until my card was changed by the bank due to fraudulent activityAt some point the account was referred to a collection agencyNot realizing that, I made an electronic payment of the entire alleged paat due amount $to ADT in Dec When I called ADT, I was told that my account was actually with ADT Defender which is separateADT had forwarded the payment to ADT DefenderI prompty contacted ADT Defendor in Januaury and was ensured that the collection departmemt would confirm receipt I did nothear back so contacted ADT Defendor again on Fenruary 11, At this point, I was told that my payment was received and ADT Defendor would send me written confirmation that account was paid in full and take the account out of collectionI asked ADT defendor to send me my money back if they were the invorrect creditor so I could directly pay the correct creditor, but was assured it would be taken care ofToday,
This company does third party work for ADT SecurityThey have the worst customer service I have ever experiencedThey have made services calls so far and cancelled the third scheduled call because the technician said that they didn't have enough time to complete the workThey called and cancelled at the exact time they were supposed to be at the house ! We have wasted days waiting around for them to come fix the system The way the company is run is disgraceful and the customer service supervisor was not helpful and disrespectful to my husband
Received a mail in advertising for ADT home security serviceson ce I called they asked for Credit a check their flyer does not mention credit check even in fine printOnce trying to set up services they attempted to run three different forms of payment all which they said that was not going through, however all payments forms are current and had available fundsI felt very uncomfortable and hang up due to the length on time it took to set things up over (hours and mins) and multiple questions and push backs to set up services I called ADT with a generic number from the internet, they were unable to confirm that the mailer I received and the phone number associated with them or is part of their company and then they informed me that they DO NOT take credit checks to apply/ start services
Jeremy C*** arrived at the house November 11, at about 9:15am He looked around the house to see where to install the unit and we decided the front wall would be better then in the laundry room He installed the unit and then starting talking about the various package they had We told him we never paid for equipment and had ADT in New Mexico and Georgia
He started at 4,(four thousand dollars) which would include breakage glass thru out the house we told him no Then we went to 3,(three thousand dollars) we said no and told him to take his equipment He said he was going outside to call his manager He came back and said it would cost $and my spouse said okay The payment would be under(one hundred fifty dollars) So, he finished installing the equipment and informed us a door camera would be installed
He asked me if this was my signature on his tablet and I said yes Before he left we asked him about the paperwork and he replied it would be arriving Yes, it arrived He had sign my signature in my DocuSign and in my bank account on Nov 13, 2017, $was withdrawal as well as for service
We spoke to April and explained to her what happened I did not sign any documents and we did not agree to $per month for service as well as him taking $from my account She wrote a report and informed the manager They send Jeremy out again to see if he could correct the issue He spoke with my spouse and the $was refunded to the account
We called the police and had a report filed case number *** by Officer ** *** as well as DocuSign case number *** from *** *** to see how he could sign my name
They offer a gift card for $which we have not received
Defender ADT corrected the problem but who wants to be put in this situation What would have occurred if I did not have extra money to cover my bill This was wrong Watch out for this company
I was trying to get ADT like thousands of other people but you are paying a completely different company when you get ADT and they won't clarify it until you're on the contractAnyone who is happy with their service has not dealt with any billing/transaction problems with them
