I am rejecting this response because: I did receive the same response directly from Priceline and forwarded that to the Revdex.com. As you can see by the response from them, they continue to say that the hotel refused to allow a refund. That is a flat out lie. I went to the hotel and used the second room on our reservation. I gave them copies of the response from Priceline and contacted their corporate offices also. The owner, *** nor anyone at that hotel, never received a call from Priceline. They continue to say they have a recording of the call but will not allow me to hear it. I have asked that they three way call the hotel and they refuse. I again, spoke with the hotel owner today and she is very upset about the way Priceline is dealing with this and is going to contact her corporate offices tooCan a business just flat out lie like this?

I am rejecting this response because: From the beginning of this ordeal, Priceline has made it clear they choose to stand behind their strict policies rather than even entertain the possibility that their ratings could be flawed Using competing service star ratings as support is meaningless to meI have no idea how those are derived, and for all I know they all come from the same source The customer is forced to trust their rating and accept their reservation choice no questions asked, PERIOD If you don't like it, according to their policies, you've just thrown your money away It's an arrangement constructed only to benefit Priceline, not the customer While I'm sure many have had satisfactory results using Priceline, this seems almost akin to gambling as much as it does a service for booking travel reservations
As a first time customer, this was not what I was expecting and I don't believe Priceline portrays the service accurately A more accurate advertisement of the service might describe the customer as possibly getting a reservation at a known chain hotel, but in most likelihood, getting a room at a bargain priced independent hotel you've never heard ofbut trust them, their star rating is rigorously determined, so please just ignore all those scathing online reviews from dis-satisfied hotel guests as recently as a few days ago Priceline's response says it's very likely the hotel has addressed the negative feedback I saw onlineI have a hard time believing this hotel could address the MANY reviews describing it as filthy posted in the last week I also take issue with them ASSUMING these issues have been addressed It's not ok for me to assume there is validity to these claims, but it is ok for Priceline to assume that these issues have been taken care of They are comfortable assuming, because it's me and my wife and children who will be staying in the possibly filthy hotel if they are wrong, not them
Priceline has made no sincere effort to work with me They make it seem like they REALLY want to help me, but just can't because of their policies I've worked in companies far larger and I'm sure more bureaucratic than Priceline, so I find this inability to help a customer laughable It's a conscious decision to not help me if they would just be up front and truthful about it I understand they cannot simply open the flood gates to every customer who doesn't like the hotel choice they've been given using their service, but any objective person who looks at the hotel I was booked, would feel at least somewhat disappointed in the product choice and possibly ripped off The choice does not instill a good feeling that you got a bargain at a nice hotel Even if the rate is good, it doesn't mean the hotel meets my expectations of a hotel I'd like to stay at and the expectations of the kind of hotel I thought I'd be booked at
I understand that Priceline is simply going off their procedures, but I don't feel the service was as advertised for me or that Priceline made a sincere effort to try and help me and recognize my argument Unfortunately in my case, just means I'm out of luck I find it hard to believe that Priceline, having booked the room with the participating hotel, could not somehow transfer my reservation to the next person who decides to try booking at that same hotel using their service and offer me a credit (not even give me my money back in full) that I can apply towards a hotel of my choiceI'm over months out from my reservationseems to me there's time to figure out another option It's virtually impossible to believe they do not have the capability of processing such a transaction Again, talk of caring about customer service is just that, talktheir actions or lack thereof speak louder than anything

I am rejecting this response because: no corporate giant should be allowed to hide behind legal language that covers the letter of the law (their own policy) but surely not the spirit of the law (fair consumer treatment). I doubt that Revdex.com.org would allow membership to anyone who operates in a manner that jeopardizes the public who goes to a company to SAVE money (as advertised), but winds up LOSING it instead. As clearly stated in my original complaint, PRICELINE.com was easy to use and quick to take our money...and there was no clear statement that terms were irrevocable should the (unsuspecting) party clicked the acceptance of their one-sided boilerplate language. Respectfully, would any consumer spend time reading Terms & Conditions boilerplate that is pages of single-space verbiage? I think not; cfhttp://www.priceline.com/privacypolicy/terms_en.html
STATEMENT
If I must lose my money to a multi-million company that would knowingly take money from a consumer who then never gets the opportunity to get "the benefit of their paid-for bargain," so be it. In Mid December 2013, when Priceline.com's customer representative informed me in ERROR that the ticket was NONCHANGEABLE, I decided to ask for refund of taxes. Otherwise I would have changed my travel date and paid the penalty. Due to Error by your customer service reperentative and misinformation on your website, I request a full refund for all the three tickets I purchased from Priceline.com
