Review: I want to make sure every customer and every potential customer knows about the SHADY "business practices" of PNC Bank. My account was overdrawn $5 and PNC Bank let a charge of $194 go through causing it to be overdrawn even more. It was my [redacted] phone bill. I called today to talk to a customer service representative and they told me I had my account set up so that ANY debit charge could still come out of my account and overdraw my account further even if it was already overdrawn. NOBODY has ever mentioned that in any call I've made to PNC or any branch I've visited. This cannot be true, however, because when there are insufficient funds in my account my DEBIT CARD will not let me purchase anything online or in person. LET ME SAY THIS AGAIN, NEVER IN THE HISTORY OF MY ACCOUNT AT PNC, HAVE I EVER BEEN ABLE TO USE MY DEBIT CARD ONLINE OR IN STORE TO MAKE PURCHASES WHEN MY ACCOUNT IS OVERDRAWN. There is no excuse for PNC Bank to let a charge go through when my account was already overdrawn. I talked to a supposed "MANAGER" named [redacted] who proceeded to talk over top of me and yell at me while on the phone and tell me he was not going to escalate my call any further to a real manager who could explain to me this discrepancy in your so called "POLICY'. It is very obvious to me that PNC BANK would like to continue overdrawing their customer's already overdrawn accounts to collect their $36 overdraft fee. Which, by the way, is completely ridiculous. I should have followed my fiancé months when he left PNC Bank because of their ridiculous "business practices". I am looking forward to my account being back to good standing so that I can cancel my account with this horrible company. I have been a loyal customer of PNC Bank for over 5 years and it's more than been a horrible experience.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the overdraft charges I incurred when then intial charge was posted to my account and for the other fees I have incurred trying to bring my account up to date.

March 16, 2015I spoke with the customer on March 13, 2015 and reviewed the account’s transaction and overdraft history with her. I explained to the customer the features of Overdraft Coverage as well as how items post to her Account. Provided a courtesy refund in the amount of $180.00. The customer was satisfied with our resolution and needed no further assistance.Thank you,[redacted]

Response:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Mr. [redacted] from PNC BANK contacted me and resolved the situation.
I have banked with PNC for almost 10 years now. I decided it was time to buy a house and upon recommendations from some friends in my home town, decided to go through PNC for a mortgage. Now 4 weeks later, I still have no preapproval letter and the mortgage lender, [redacted], won't even return my phone calls. I gave up on them and went to another lender and walked out with an approval letter in just over an hour. This is my first home and PNC/[redacted] has turned what should be a fun experience into a very stressful time. My lease is up in 6 weeks so now I'm having to find a house, get an offer approved, and close within a short time period. Once everything is done, I will be closing my accounts and moving them to my new financial institution that actually cares about their customers.
Review: I made my monthly loan payment to pnc bank and they put 98% of the payment to interest.
its usually very close to 50/50 . I called because in the last month they have charged me wrongfull on more than one occasion wih bank fees an wont reimburse. now I found out they put my payment almost all to interest trying to say that coveredlast month but I went and checked the bank recoreds and the interest gets paid every month. it was never skipped. someone theremessed up and now they are trying for a cover up. they play god with the consumers money. they take whatever they want and do not treat me the consumer fair. I have been crying for amonth straight because of the wrongful dealings.Desired Settlement: I want part of my payment to be applied to principal like every other month. I also want the bank fee I was charged on 1/19 paid back o me because it was n error by a pnc employee not me.

Review: Non-working messaging system, inability to correct payment mistake PNC system carried out and inability to talk with Loan Mod officers.Online PNC account system continues to incorrectly show a late payment even after talking with a rep on March 11th, 2014 who claims she corrected PNC's mistake.PNC's secure message system does not work. I am unable to send a secure message to PNC, regardless of the font characters being utilized. When attempting to contact PNC Load modification group, I continue to be left on hold and told by automated system a rep will call back. A rep never calls back.Desired Settlement: Fix online "secure" messaging system.Correctly place my monthly payment in it's appropriate location, thereby stop sending me correspondence that my payment is late. And do have a Loan Modification officer call me back as your automated system states after leaving me on hold for 10+ minutes.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
Over the past couple of weeks, [redacted] and I have been playing phone tag. I have left her messages, as she has left me several.
Please also note that as a Sr. Project Manager for a software company, I work 65 to 70 hour weeks with limited time to make personal calls at work. In fact, and I believe we are all familiar with, it is frowned upon to make personal calls at work.
Here's a thought - I believe PNC Bank should provide a resource I can call who works in the same time zone as I (PST/MST/AZ). This would enable me to actually take a lunch at work (which I seldom do) and call the representative.
Or, and since [redacted] is familiar with my request to refinance and/or revisit my current loan, she could send me options to address.

Review: I have been trying to receive a loan modification from their equity line of credit department for several months. I have been declined due to income. Twice I have provided them both PERSONAL and BUSINESS BANK STATEMENTS. I have even WRITTEN to them with the package that they need to use BOTH sets of income by calculating the deposits. They have NOT done so. Twice they have done the same thing and ONLY calculated my business deposits. I am SCHEDULE C which I deposit into my personal account and I have a corporation which I deposit into the CORPORATE account. I have explained this in writing. AGAIN, they decline me on the same basis ONLY counting the business deposits. Its like working with a bunch of illeterate fools. They do NOT read anything that is submitted to them. Now they want me to file an appeal, FOR THEIR ERROR AGAIN. I am so sick of this bankDesired Settlement: I want a loan modification in order to have a lower interest rate. I want them to go back and FIX THEIR mistake, instead of putting the blame and burden on the customer. They always think they are right, when I SPECIFICALLY told them there are 2 sets of bank accounts.

Review: I opened a new business checking account with PNC when my business became an LLC. I also added merchant services to my business account with PNC. While in the branch I met with Debra [redacted] from merchant services (MS). Debra explained to me that if I would sign up for MS that I would get all these additional perks of a free checking, etc. Bottom line, I would owe $137 for the total package, but if I signed up for a (business) credit card, I would get a credit of $450 towards my account (which could take up to 60 days to be deposited when approved). So the $137 would be withdrawn 8 days after setting up the account on 8/19. However, on 9/2, merchant services deducted $295 (??) causing my account to be over withdrawn. I contacted Sue on 9/4 (which is the branch manager) she said she would contact Merchant Services to find out what was going on. However when I contacted Sue back on 9/8, she said that she was really sorry about what happened and that MS was working on it. Then on 9/11, there was still no resolution, and mind you that my account is still over withdrawn, so I called again and spoke w/ Sue. Who told me that they heard back from MS and that $195 was going to be refunded and should post to the account by the end of that business day on 9/11. But on 9/14 when I check my account I see that the service charge is still on there! Very irritated and upset I call Sue again. I asked her what a solution would be today and Debra responded that she was trying to work it out for the refund to be processed on 9/14. If this did not happen by the end of the day, Debra vowed to deposit her OWN money into my account to make sure my funds were available on 9/15 to pay for bills that were due. I in return would write her a check once PNC HQ came through with the money. I received a voicemail of Sue (not Deb) telling me that she took personally the money out of her PERSONAL account to replenish my wife's account. Second of all: under no circumstance should it ever have to be the case that an employee deposits money into a clients account because the bank HQ is holding stubborn onto policies and is milking processes. We wonder how a bank like PNC, who stresses relationships with small businesses, can expect their branch employees to keep those relationships going if they don't have the authority to credit that money in a situation like this.Desired Settlement: I feel that an apology is due for all of the inconveniences, banking fee's, and wasted time spent trying to fix all the errors made by PNC. They made no efforts to help resolve this in a timely manner. Having to wait 2 weeks to have my money refunded that was deducted in error by the bank is absolutely ridiculous! I will never go back to PNC and will make sure to let everyone I know the kind of poor service they provide to small businesses.

Review: There was a PNC bank employee that came to my place of employment and offered the PNC at work program with a $150 promotion. The promotion was for if you signed up for direct deposit and made 1 online bill payment. I spoke to [redacted] O)###-###-#### (C) ###-###-####. He said he'dlook into whether I was elligible for the $150 promotion. I had PNC bank since 2008, but had not used it since 2010. There was $8 in the account that had been untouched. Then I receieved an email from [redacted] who said I am elligible for the $150 bonus if I make a direct deposit monthly and do 1 online billpayment. This was my deciding factor in signing up for the PNC account. I signegd up on right around Feb 15. I then made ad irect deposit in March, and then before the end of March I made an online bill payment. I did not receive the $150 bonus yet so I contacted PNC on April 15. They said that they would investiage further why I did not get this bonus yet. Then I contacted PNC the end of May to see what was going on and they said they did not know and would file a claim. So the claim was filed and then I got an email last week saying that I was inelligible for the new account promotion of $150 since I was already an exisiting customer. I expaliend to them that I had not used the account in 4 years. I also told them that I had spoke to [redacted] from pnc bank who said that yes I am elligible for this claim. They said that even though the account was dormont I could not get this promotion. I feel that I was lied to and tricked into signing up for a new account when I would never get this promotion. Everything from my old account was changed, including the checking account number, card nubmer, etc. Even the moeny from the old account was transferred to the new account. I should have never been told I was elligible if this wasn't the case.Desired Settlement: I would like the $150 new account bonus that I should have got with a new PNC at work account. This was my whole reason for signing up and I have been getting the run around for almost 3 months on this $150.

Review: I am very disappointed in the level of customer service I received this morning. I called to explain that PAYPAL charged my account 75.44 & 87.46 YESTERDAY - but they were not supposed to charge until I received the items ordered. Paypal said that they CAN charge when the item ships and to discuss it with my bank. Before I could even ask the representative she had already started to apologize that she could not reverse the 2 $36 dollar fees. $72 dollars is very much money to me right now after going through [redacted] and in the middle of a divorce that was budgeted for my prescriptions and dr. copay today. For her to say there is NOTHING PNC can do - leads me to have no other recourse but to end my relationship with PNC as I did PayPal. I asked for a supervisor and she stated he would say the same thing that I am not "ELIGIBLE" for a courtesy credit even though i've banked with you for 5 years. If there truly is nothing that can be done I'll stop in a branch today and close my account and file a complaint with the Revdex.com - by the time I received notification that the account was overdrawn it was too late to deposit money and the fact is that within 3 hours of the email saying I was overdrawn my paycheck was deposited. I would appreciate if a supervisor would re-evaluate my account & history and please help my situation as I don't check my account daily - clearly this isn't PNC's fault but for the sake of customer service this should not be a big deal to PNC when you consider the years I've been with you and the very few times this has ever happened - this time being an issue with PayPal which ended a 21 year relationship with them. I Appreciate your re-evaluation of 2 $36 dollar courtesy credits so I can remain a PNC Customer. As you can see I didn't receive an EMAIL that I was overdrawn until 3:11am CST which by then my direct deposit was processed..Desired Settlement: Credit both overdraft fees. The email was 311am cst - direct deposit was 12am - there was no other notification I was overdrawn and there is no reason to lose me as a customer over 72$ -

Review: I received an offer from PNC bank that by depositing a total of $2000 to a new checking account, I'd get $200 bonus. Please refer to the leaflet copy attached. But PNC insisted that the $2000 must be deposited within 60 days. However, if you read the leaflet, you would agree that the 60 days limitation is for other conditions, i.e. direct deposit, making purchase (they were all met and verified by PNC). The limitation is not for the $2000. My initial understanding of the leaflet was that upon total deposit is accumulated to reach $2000, the $200 bonus should be given to customer. I read the leaflet again and my current understanding is same as before.Desired Settlement: to credit $200 to my checking account as promised by PNC bank.

I provided everything requested by PNC: PNC said it does not have the leaflet, I provided photo copy of the leaflet. PNC said it's fuzzy, I provided a clear one. At the request of a branch of PNC, I provided evidence that a customer of PNC who was in the exact same situation as myself got a payment of $200 from PNC. But PNC did not honor my request by now.

Review: In April, I went to the local PNC bank and spoke to [redacted] about a loan to pay off some high interest credit cards I had. He submitted an unsecured loan application, but also offered to me a credit card with either 0% interest for 1 year or 3.4% interest for 2 years on purchases. I have since made purchases using the card, and see from my last credit card statement that I am being charged 19.9% interest on purchases. I have made regular payments on my credit card since receiving it, have never missed a payment due date, have always paid at least the minimum requested but usually more, so there is no chance that this rate was defaulted to due to missed payment, late payment, or insufficient payment. I called and spoke to [redacted] of Retail Escalations ###-###-#### and she told me that this initial offer was never offered by the bank. She asked for the person I spoke to. I drove over to the bank, and grabbed a business card from outside his office ([redacted] - VP Branch Mgr). I than waited to speak to him, and he denied that he verbally offered me this rate. He said that it was for balance transfers instead. I am 100% positive that he said it was for purchases. So what we have here is a bait-and-switch. I have called [redacted] back and left her a msg of the person's name ([redacted]) that I first spoke to at the branch to set up this credit card application. She said that she will need to spend more time this coming week to try to resolve. But I have no expectations that I will receive any resolution; as both have denied that this offer existed. If this is the way the bank works, I have no plans to keep an account there.Desired Settlement: Give me the offer that was first extended to me by [redacted]; namely: 0% for 1 year or 3.4% for 2 years on purchases.

Review: Please know that PNC bank notified me that there were false charges on my account. They called me several times as soon as it happened leaving me voicemail's that there was suspicious activity on my account. There is an ongoing issue with Identity theft with my bank account. I went into the bank and filed disputes as they indicated to me and then I was trying to close the account once the disputes were all investigated. The bank refunded me all of my money that was stolen. Later on I closed the account, I signed the papers and received the remaining balance. Then I was contacted by the bank saying that the disputes were reversed and now I owe them money that was originally stolen from me and refunded to me without even notifying me. I have gone into the bank on several occasions trying to resolve this and they tell me it is resolved in person. Then weeks later I get letters from the bank saying I owe money again and the account is over drawn and charging me service fees and overdrawn fees. Now they have even opened a new account that I have never signed approval for and didn't even know existed!! I am sick and tired of dealing with this bank. They are taking advantage of my age (about to turn 20) and my inexperience with all of this. All I have been trying to do for MONTHS is close my account. Which keeps getting re-opened some how. I am concerned about identity theft happening through this. It is the banks responsibility to protect me, but in this case it is the bank I need to be protected from. Please help.Desired Settlement: My account closed for good with a zero balance. No further contact from this bank ever again or its affiliates.

Review: Hi
I have tried to resolve my issue with two different branches here in [redacted] and I also contacted pnc through secure messaging on their website but no one was willing to help me.I have been a pnc account holder for a while and I am not sure why are they not willing to do something.
For 4 months now pnc has been charging me $7 account maintenance fee (acc. ending in [redacted])even though I have more than one account with them and they are all linked and I am not sure why is that!No one is willing to tell me that!
Another issue is,a few months ago [redacted],my mortgage holder sent two electronic withdrawals for my monthly mortgage payment, even though I paid my mortgage for that month which overdrew my account. This really was not my fault and pnc refunded me one of the fees they charged for the account being overdrawn but not the other.Again [redacted] created this problem but I had to pay for it.This is not rightDesired Settlement: I request those monthly maintenance fees be refunded 4x$7=28 and the insufficient funds charge of $36 be refunded as well for a total of $64.

Review: I was forced to close my bank account today when PNC refused to refund the overdraft fees they charged me. I noticed on 6/24/14 that I had pending items coming into my account that would not be covered by the funds in the account so I made two deposits one around 8pm on my way home from work and one at 9pm after I got home at the ATM and I also want to state that I deposited cash $100 of which should have been avail immediately. The combined amount deposited was $183 more than enough to cover the $95 that was set to come out of my account the next morning. Well when I wake up on 6/25 my account is negative $20 and I have received 2 over draft fees in the amount of $72. I called customer service to explain they had no right to charge fees when my account as of 9:30 pm was according to my receipt from the machine and online had a balance of about $130.They then proceeded to tell me I should of read the fine print and that $100 is not avail on cash deposits immediately( which I know isn't true because its always been available) Long story short the customer service people were rude and unhelpful nor were willing to listen to me explain why they just kept talking over me. Then later I called back to ask for a freeze to be put on my account so I would not incur anymore fee's and was told they would not do that and I would just have to keep paying for the fees that came in. I had to leave work and to close my account loosing even more money over this.Desired Settlement: I want my money back or I will not remove the complaint.

Review: Review: Collection & Business Practices. My account was a corporate account, the account had a $0 balance, a charge of $13.66 came through, a charge that should not have come through at all. 1st, the originator should not have charged it to this account, it had a zero balance and it was not set up for this, 2nd PNC should not have allowed the charge to come through simply to justify the fees that were charged. The first OD fee was charged, I called explained the situation, asked it to be removed, spoke with several people at PNC, they would not remove it. Called PNC again, spoke with [redacted], CSR, he said they could not remove it. Next time I looked at the account, there were several $7 fees, which makes up the balance. Called PNC, at[redacted], where I opened this business account# ending in [redacted], spoke with [redacted], horrible. At the direction of [redacted], CSR, I explained the situation to [redacted] and asked her to close the account to avoid any other fees, she said no and proceeded into preaching mode about how I should handle my accounts. Wow, first off even though the $13.66 was charged by [redacted], a company I use for business it should have not come through this account. I explained that to [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted]. So, I covered the $13.66, PNC continued to charge $7 daily until it exceeded $100. This is unethical business practices. I do not owe you any money! I paid the charge and asked for the account to be closed long before it got to the balance it is now. PNC has now sold this account to a collection agency called [redacted], they are now calling regarding fees. Why, I do not owe you anything. I sent an email through my account to customer service, again, explained the situation, and asked for the fees to be removed. Next, the account is $0, PNC sends it for collections. Remove the fees and do not report my business/me simply because you want to gauge the little guy. The fees are bogus and needs to be removed. Sad to see this with PNC. I was a long-term customerDesired Settlement: Remove the unnecessary fees, stop the unnecessary collection activity, and any other reporting you may be doing on me or my business, which is a corporation. I do not believe this is any way to do business over these fees, not my charges. Your fees! I do not owe you any money. The money I legitimately owed was paid. Your fees are unjustified! I can't believe the time and effort that is being put into this. What happened to customer service.

Review: When my wife closed out her account at our [redacted] PNC branch bank, she was given a check which had only printed the number "2" on the date instead of 2016. It was not noticed by the cashier & my wife didn't discover it till she looked at it later on Saturday. I checked on the internet for this branches Sat. hours and it said they were open from 9-12. Bank Tracker site said the same thing. She started walking to the bank, but someone told her that this branch has never had Sat. hours. Someone should be notified of that fact and make the change. When she called, the answering machine says "We're not able to answer your call right now, leave a message and we'll get back to you as soon as possible". (Or words to that effect). Nothing about being closed on Saturday, so you could wait all day for a call to no avail. We then took the check to the PNC bank at [redacted] to see if we could get a new check issued. The clerk said she was not able to issue a new check. We couldn't understand why, so we asked to see the manager and she told us that no manager was there. Hard to believe that a busy bank would have NO manager available.
Today, we visited our [redacted] branch and they did issue a new check. We mentioned the incorrect hours on the internet and she said she couldn't do anything about that. We also mentioned the phone message and she said that she had nothing to do with that. No offer to report our suggestions to the manager or anything. Our check problem is resolved, but dwe would like to let the bank know that their service could be improved.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Other (requires explanation)
I would like Revdex.com to make PNC bank aware of this and see if they can correct the Sat. hours for this branch so that others won't be affected and also give attention to changing the phone message on Sat. that they are closed, not just "leave a message and we'll call you back". Also the clerk who made the first check should be reminded to look at the check to see if everything is correct before handing it over.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Review: I called in to PNC customer service 2 weeks ago and requested copies of all of my bank statements beginning in August of 2014 thru the present. I was told they would be sent out to me soon. I called in on Friday to check the status of my bank statements and they had not even heard of my request at all.Desired Settlement: Send me copies of all of my bank statements beginning in August of 2014 thru the present

Review: I am currently unemployed. I have been banking with PNC for close to 20 years. Just this month instead of stopping payment on very small charges ( two 3.00 ATM fees, one 2.00 purchase and one 3.00 purchase). For each one of these charges which overdrafted my account I was charged $36.00 per transaction, for a total of $144.00 so far.
Being unemployed means that I get paid bi-weekly and am barely able to get by. I do not get another check until next week so I will continue to accrue fees on an account in which I cannot pay off. Right now that $144.00 plus new charges will take up at least half of my check.
I am having trouble getting my medications and food because I will have to pay these fees.
I have spoken to two members of management and they were not able to help me at all.
I am very displeased with this bank and feel that unless I receive my desired resolution I will be closing the account and not paying the fees. I will reimburse the bank for the small charges that they paid even though I didn't have the funds.Desired Settlement: PNC should issue me a refund on the fees that I have accrued for the four very small transactions, and decline the card instead of paying when I do not have sufficient funds.

Review: I applied for a secured credit card on 3/24/15, and I had to put $200 deposit on the card. They send me a denial letter within 3 days. I have been asking them to return my money, and last week I was informed to go to the [redacted] and [redacted] Blvd location and they could cancel the check and issue me a cashiers check for the amount. Once I went there they said they said they could not do this for me. I just spoke to someone named [redacted] that was very rude and nasty. He then said I have to wait for them to issue my money in their timing. They are not paying me interest or anything why are they holding my money. I want my money back.Desired Settlement: I want my $200 back
