PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. Reviews (1843)

Review: According to the Homeowners protection act of 1998, Private Mortgage Insurance(PMI) should be removed once owners achieve 80% loan-to-value ratio. Through PNC Mortgage, I have requested and paid for a home appraisal. The appraisal company was chosen by PNC. When the appraiser arrived she asked specifically what price value did I need to achieve in order to remove PMI. After I shared the number based on my assessment of recent comparable sales she indicated she would try but will need to work hard to achieve it. I told her I already paid for the service and was hopeful she would provide a fair and accurate assessment without any further funding. The home appraisal was well below fair market value and comparisons were made with homes well outside of the neighborhood. It is in my opinion [redacted] was looking for additional payments in order to help with PMI removal.Desired Settlement: A fair home appraisal by a third party firm not selected by PNC Mortgage.

Review: My Account went into the negative around the first of August due to checking account being hit with multiple transactions from Target. The charges were valid however, the ACH, kept coming back to PNC resulting in the same transaction being accessed the same overdraft multiple times including daily overdraft fees. The fees are unreasonably high for 2 transactions to result in an additional $200 or more in accumulated fees. I am expecting to receive my Social Security benefits and wanted my money direct deposited into my PNC account but now it is subject to being closed and I would like to resolve this account and reopen another Virtual Wallet account and allow my direct deposit to go through.Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund

Adjustment of fees to resolve the account and to avoid collections.

Review: I am in the process of filing bankruptcy. I purchased a car from PNC in April of 2011, as an installment loan. On Monday 10/14/13 a reposession company came to my home, and we worked out with the tow company that they can pick the car up this Thursday, October 17, 2013. This morning our PNC account was overdrawn by an unauthorized withdraw from PNC. The ammount is for $461.00. Had I been with another bank, PNC would not have done this. However, my account is with PNC. I Never authorized this to be done to my account. ALSO!! I filed for an extension of my loan in late August/early September, which was APPROVED. Had PNC followed by their guidelines, they would not have sent out the repossession company. I would only be 35-40 days behind on my account, versus the 65-70 days since they aren't permitting my grace period.Desired Settlement: I want the money returned to our account, as well as any applicable fees.

Review: On Jan 27th, my card was stolen and had a few fraudulent transactions on it. At the same time, I received a voice mail from the fraud department to verify my transactions. I was in [redacted] at that time, but I called them back. The first guy told me to dispute it without cancelling the card. And also told me the money would be back to my account in a few days. Since he represents pnc bank, so I trusted him. I waited and waited, nothing happened. So I called them again, and they told me the previous guy didn't do anything. So he would be cancelling my card, issue a new one, get my money back and send it to my new address. Once again, I trusted him. So I waited again, but no card came and no balance in my account at all. I don't even know what they did to my money. So now I don't have access to my money, or do I receive a new bank card. I called them over and over again, they just kept saying the same thing. I need them to give my money bank for fraudulent transactions, send me a new card as they promised in the first place. I have waited about 2 weeks. I can't even see any balance in my account now. I need it to be fixed right away.Desired Settlement: I need them to give my money bank for fraudulent transactions, send me a new card as they promised in the first place. I have waited about 2 weeks. I can't even see any balance in my account now. I need it to be fixed right away.

Review: On Saturday, June 14 2014 I was at a bar called "[redacted]", where the bartender accidentally swiped my card to pay someone else's tab for the amount of $30. She immediately voided the transaction, explained to me what happened, and provided me with the receipt records of the transaction. To this day, June 18 2014, PNC Bank has held this $30 in their own pockets - it is not in my account and the bar was not paid this money. It has been sitting in "Pending" an unaccessible to me for 4 days now. This should have been cleared days ago. Any attempt to contact their customer service is met with being ignored. They do not reply to anything sent to their preferred customer service channels. They have simply taken my $30 and ignored me. They are thieves purposely taking an excessive amount of time to process transactions that are supposed to be processed within a business day in order to keep the money for themselves.Desired Settlement: I just want my money back. I didn't spend it, the charge was voided, there is no reason for PNC to keep this money on lockdown. I am on a fixed and small income and every dollar counts very much for me. I have already been incredibly put into a bad spot by PNC because I had not been able to pay a bill when it was due, due to them holding my money hostage needlessly. I want my money back, and I want an investigation initiated against PNC for criminal activities. This is ridiculous.

Review: PNC Bank transferred my [redacted] obligation from [redacted] to PNC Bank on 12/30/2015. I now have BOTH banks sending bills for that same account. The transfer from [redacted] to PNC Bank did not occur. I have been to BOTH banks for a total of 6 visits (today will be 7th). Now my new interest free PNC balance is in place as well as the OLD [redacted] account (with late fees and interest). The contact at PNC Bank in Pittsburgh has not responded to multiple emails concerning the impact to my credit rating and the double billing.

I did receive a credit for the late fee and interest from the last statement in my checking account - but as of this morning the balance (overdue) at [redacted] is not moved. PNC contact is [redacted]. She has not responded to the last 3 emails sent to her.

Review: The nature of complaint is PNC Bank erroneously/intentionally posted checks present after a deposit as proven by their branch mgr yet deducted check amounts before posting deposit checks were posted @23.59.59 10/13/2014, deposit was made in branch 10/13/2013 @14:42. An actual conversation was conducted in person at time of deposit confirmed by teller that the deposit was well in advance before any debit transaction could be presented. I have all the printed paper work with time stamps.Desired Settlement: PNC banks has conspired to deliberately fraud consumers of money by corresponding transaction codes of debits to post before credits. Review: I have had an account with PNC since I was 15. I joined the military and [redacted] became my primary bank. I have been getting charged $7 a month for over almost a year now to have my account of $70 open as just an extra just-in-case account. I was never informed of this and got an email explaining that my account was overdrawn. The lady on the phone was nice and was able to reimburse me $14 to get my account in the green, but this doesn't prevent me from feeling stolen from.Desired Settlement: A check for the full amount that was taken out of my account. This is the least I am owed.

Review: PNC Mortgage was notified back in June 2013 in regards to my request for hardship assistance. Their Loss Mitigation Department kept sending letters to say they are willing to assist but was always denied assistance. The reason given was that I withdrew my request, which is a lie. Finally we get a letter saying that our designated person of contact,[redacted] at ###-###-#### would assist. Everytime I have called I get a voice message and hardly every get a response. When she does call back, I get no concrete information.PNC mortgage took 4 months to review my file and still has not come up with a decision. Every week that I call, I get the "reviews generally take 30 to 45 days". I know for a fact that [redacted], the reviewer, started reviewing my completed file on September 9, 2013. It is now October 15, 2013 and I have not gotten a response to my request for a short sale approval. Then I get a letter saying they need more documentation, because 30 days has passed and so the time gets reset for review. Their ill practices have caused me to be behind in my payments and now am possibly forced towards foreclosure instead of the short sale that we were hoping to get. It is also my believe that PNC Mortgage company is forcing me to go into foreclosure or to take my house deed instead of actually trying to help us through this economic crisis. Please look into their ill practice and I request that my file be resolved ASAP since I have been waiting patiently for 4 months. Every document that was requested of me was send immediately.Desired Settlement: Make a decision on my file and approve the short sale due to the economic hardship that I am currently in before I fall into foreclosure. That is what the law requires! An explanation as to the slow reaction of their review process and why have a designated person of contact who doesn't know anything and can never be found.

Review: PNC Bank debits consumers accounts without authorization. In early June I filed a transaction dispute with PNC over the phone because my debit card was charged for two utilities bills instead of the one payment. After sending in the mailed documents and receiving the provisional credit I felt the issue was taken care of. After a month PNC debits my account for the credit. I call the utilities company and they inform me I am current and both payments were made and no debit was issued. I call PNC who then tells me they were unable to process the dispute because they never received more paperwork, even though I sent them two separate forms front and back. Now I am out $236 for the month of July but my bills are paid early, so I tell the customer service rep at PNC to just leave the issue alone because they would have to file a NEW dispute to return my money and by this time the second bill would be due. Although the company didn't help at this point I felt the issue was solved. Now it is OCTOBER and my utilities company calls me to tell me I still owe for JULY because PNC just issued a debit for the payment. I DID NOT AUTHORIZE any dispute. After waiting on hold for 20 minutes each time I have called in the last two days I was finally hung up on by the associate who told me I was issued a credit back in mid August (the same day I got direct deposits from work) and that there's not much they can do about my power bills that are late and have fees from this drawn out mess they made. After hearing this I asked how they were authorized to make this second debit if they said they never had enough paperwork for the first debit? I was promptly hung up on. I would love to spend all day calling them back and waiting on hold this is my last resort. They are truly a terrible corporation who needs to be investigated for how they practice business and treat their clients.Desired Settlement: At the very least I would like them treat their customers with respect and provide communication when debiting and crediting accounts. If they were a good company they would provide compensation to pay the $236 owed to the[redacted] and all the additional fees that have accumulated to the account.

Review: I used an ATM from a bank in the [redacted] on 11/13/2015. I attempted to withdraw 226.32 cents from the machine . The machine was staying in the screen to please withdraw the funds and the ATM was counting the money, but the cash dispenser never opened and my funds were never dispensed. I went inside the bank and informed them that I never received the funds, in which I was informed that I had to contact my bank and my bank would contact them to verify the ATM error and refund my money. I filed a claim with PNCand they are denying my claim stating that there was no error commited that day from the ATM.Desired Settlement: I would like my money refunded back because the ATM never opened to dispense my funds.

Review: I had an issue with my bank acct a check I had wrote was to be held. The company owners secretary never held the check she was unaware of the arrangement. This caused my acct to be over drawn, along with the other check I had written became over drawn. The only way I knew how to resolve the issue is to Keep having my pay check deposited and in 2 pays. I'll bring the acct back to good standing. I also have an emergency joint acct I keep with my father. I was told that these accts were totally separate. My battery in my vehicle died and my father placed extra money into the emergency acct. The next morning the money is gone. When my father called to see where his money went he was told we signed up to keep that acct as a transfer acct incase my main checking acct was to over draft. Now I've never disputed when I over drawn my acct. I'm acknowledging there was an error on my part. My problem is how do they have the right to move money without permission from the holder of the acct? Now the emergency acct is to be kept with $20 in it at all times and if it isn't I will be charged $15 a day until the acct. is brought back to $20. They completely drained this acct. to $0.00. I do not remember being told if I had over draft protection and certainly know I wasn't told these accts are linked together. The purpose of our joint acct was for this reason if there is a problem with my checking acct or an emergency my father would have a way to get me the funds needed. The bank told me that they can take any money from any acct as long as my name is on it. This is wrong and deceitful. They admitted they don't tell customers what they are doing because they will remove the funds. If I would have been made aware they can do what they want with my money or my fathers money I would never opened an acct with PNC. Also the joint acct had some money in it before today, why didn't they take that money last week?? If they can do as they please with my funds.Desired Settlement: I want the money my father deposited placed back into the joint acct. I do not want any overdraft issues with the joint acct since PNC is responsible for that acct being brought to $0.00. I will make sure my main checking acct is brought back into the positive when my pay check is direct deposited. My check has been direct deposit every 2 weeks for the last 4 years.

Review: I went to the PNC Branch on December 3rd, 2015, to close my Checking Account. The lady (name?) told me that I would be charged a $25 fee because the account hadn't been open for 6 months. I asked her how much longer I needed to wait to avoid the fee, she said until December 12th, 2015. I said I would wait until December 12th and then return to close the account. She then said that she'd accidentally already closed the account and the fee had already been charged. I asked her to re-open the account. or to reverse the fee, because this was her error and I hadn't instructed her to close the account. She said she couldn't re-open it or reverse the fee. We then went to the branch manager (Isaac [redacted] to explain the problem; he also said that he wasn't able to do anything but he asked the lady to contact a more senior person to try and return my $25. Isaac took my details and said they would let me know. I haven't heard from anyone at the bank.

Review: I was given poor customer for a mistake that they made and they knew they dropped the ball. When they admitted to making the mistake they didn't try to do anything to satisfy or assure that I continue my business. They don't value there customers at all and the crazy part is when I first started banking with them they never acted like this. At this moment I'm looking into other banks because they don't truly care enough to keep me as a customer. It took 2 months to resolve my issue and the funny part is the issue is still not resolved. Review: I have had a spare checking account with PNC for about 2 years now. I don't keep much money in it because it is only used for small charges. I have only had 1 problem in the past where I had a fraudulent charge on my account which put the account in overdraft about a year ago. I called and they removed the fraud charge and refunded me the overdraft charges. I had them turn off overdraft protection so this would never happen again.Recently my wife mistakenly used my [redacted] account instead of hers to buy 2 items on [redacted]. When she paid with the debit card on file it used my PNC account which did not have enough money in it. A week later I deposited a check for $140 that I was going to use to buy some items online only to realize that the 2 [redacted] items caused 2 overdraft charges and a daily overdraft charge totaling about $120. I was so upset and called PNC on 4-1-2015 and was told "we will take care of those charges for you." After not seeing the money returned I called later that day and was told "I don't see any notes on the account that said we would do that and since we refunded these charges when your account had fraud we will not extend that courtesy to you." They escalated the case and a woman called me the next day and said they cant do anything. I will not be doing business with the company any longer, and I will be sure to tell everyone that I know not to do business with this bank.Desired Settlement: I would like the fees that were over $100 returned.

Review: Dear Sir/MadamI am an account holder of PNC Bank ([redacted]) and I wanted to report the debit card dispute that I filled with the bank and the way bank handled the case. I am not satisfied the method followed and I haven't received resolution so far.I had a purchase on 05/28 at Iselin, NJ and I tried to use PNC Debit card () as PIN based transaction and it didn't go through and I tried 3 times and it failed all 3 times. Merchant printed a slip at POS and that also showed the same. I didn't sign the Merchant slip. Then I used my Chase Credit Card to complete the purchase for $10205/28 102.00 POS Purchase [redacted] when I looked at my PNC account statement, the $102 charged on my account and I called PNC to report this dispute and they said they will investigate and provided provisional credit immediately. But on Aug 1st, 2013, the same has been reversed stating the transaction was valid ATM transaction (though it was POS transaction).I called again PNC to discuss this and asked for the proof for the txn received from the Merchant and asked to talk to retail escalation group. I have been tried to reach retail escalation grop in PNC and it is very hard to get someone to discuss and at the same time they are not showing any interest in resolving the issue. Spoke to [redacted] in that dept, they said PNC will send me the proof received from Merchant but it has been month since they told but I haven't received anything. This is so frustrating experience and I have been PNC customer since 2006. I am maintaining very good relationship so far with Checking, Saving and Credit card accts.Desired Settlement: I want the bank to return the money back or provide proof (send it overnight courier) to get the money from Merchant. Also fix their broken dispute system which against customer benefit/interest.
