you online account manager, email or phone. The site states "If canceled within 3 days, pay only $2.95 for trial. After the trial, you will be billed $24.95/month." We did not receive your cancellation until 2/11/2015, four days after the three day Trial Membership was initiated. Therefore you were billed the Membership fee ($24.95) on the fourth day. The charge is non-refundable per the Terms you agreed to. Your Membership will automatically expire on 3/13/2015, and you can enjoy all the great benefits of this service until then.

Our Customer Service was available to take your cancellation at any time via your online Account Manager, email or over the phone. response because: I was never aware that I had an active account. I indicated that I did not want an account at the one time that I tried their service. I have never used the account, and never believed that I had ever agreed to an account. It was not until now that we noticed the monthly charge on our credit card. It is quite clear, from the number of consumer complaints against this company, that they engage in questionable business practices designed to take advantage of people like myself. It is totally illogical that I, or anyone else, would maintain an account, at a cost of $25/month, that they NEVER used. Their assertion that I Did not request termination of the account until today is totally fallacious. I indicated, on the phone, that I did not want the account established in May of 2015.
The PDF provided refers to another product available on the website. The customer was require to check the box acknowledging the Terms of Use on the checkout page.
We take these matters very seriously and have reviewed the two calls on file from you to our Customer Care Department on 12/29/2014. We will take appropriate action. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by your experience over the phone. During the first call we found that the...
representative advised, per your request, that the first two attempts to charge $0.98 to your card failed due to a zip code mismatch and that your third attempt, a $1.95 charge, did successfully go through. During your second call to our Customer Care Department, the representative advised per your request that there was "no manager available right now" and that they would "be in at 9:30am." She also offered you a voicemail so that the supervisor could call you directly at a later time. We have confirmed that your call was in fact transferred to the supervisor voicemail at the end of this call and not disconnected by this representative. You also requested to have your Public Record information removed from our search results. The representative confirmed we do offer the option to remove your information through a self-service online tool. She continued that we do not accept opt out requests over the phone. We found no instance during these two calls of a representatives "yelling and screaming" or using "horrible names." In contrast, we find that in your frustration with having to go online to manage your own Public Profile on PeopleFinders.com you had used several insults and vulgar language when dealing with the second representative. All of the information on our website is from public record databases. Every person aged 18 and older can have a public record. This information is collected on a County, City, State and federal level and can also come from reporting information during normal every day activities such as grocery store club cards, magazine subscriptions, voter registration, warranty cards, even fishing licenses, and forms you fill out when browsing the internet. There are thousands of ways this information gets reported. We are not required to remove any information from our website; however, we offer the option to as a courtesy. We are not refusing to remove your information. We will remove this information from being searched on our site once we receive your request. For your convenience, below is a direct link to the opt out page.http://www.peoplefinders.com/manage/default.aspx In conclusion your account was closed per your online request on 12/27/2014, the charge of $1.95 is non-refundable per the Terms you agreed to and you are welcome to request a removal of your Public Profile on PeopleFinders.com by using the online form provided.

I am rejecting this response because: If you are not giving out correct information you should not be giving out any information. The information that you gave out on me was completely wrong. No excuse not to have correct information. You did not full fill your part of the agreement.
I accept the response from People finders. They are refunding my money and we have settled our issue.
At the time of purchase on 8/8/2014, this customer had a choice to accept a special discounted price available with a monthly membership ($19.95) or the full price for the search without membership ($39.95). The membership option provides a three day trial to try our services. Our membership...
service provides unlimited searches and other features for a monthly fee. This is clearly and conspicuously disclosed on the initial order selection page. On the next payment information page, the consumer is provided with an entire section directly below the total outlining the terms of the membership. This again clearly and conspicuously states that after the initial trial, unless the consumer cancels the service, it will continue monthly and the card they provided will be charged. This will continue until they tell us to cancel their membership to avoid future charges. The membership is mentioned no less than two times on two pages before the order is complete. Our records show this customer affirmatively selected to enroll on 8/8/2014. Given that members can conduct unlimited searches for a monthly membership fee our terms do not allow for any refunds and simply allow members to cancel anytime to avoid future charges. For the period of the membership this customer was charged each month. During that time, our customer service is available to take the cancellation at any time. Per his online request on 11/6/2014, three months after the membership was initiated, we closed the account and issued a refund for the most current month of service at $29.95 as a one-time courtesy. There are no further refunds available.
To fulfill your opt out request you will need to follow the automated process online. For your convenience, below is a direct link to the opt out page.[redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:it was under a free trail and it was cancelled the same day so there should not be a charge for cancellation fee.
