Online City Tickets Reviews (2190)

I wanted to surprise my girlfriend for Christmas with Elton John tickets I was in a hurry to [redacted] some good seats within minutes of them going on sale I was planning on spending about $total When I got to the Arena's website, I didn't realize I had been directed to the Online City Tickets website I looked at the arena map where I planned on being, and no tickets were available I looked at being closer, and clicked, and got it The tickets "looked" like they were going to be within rows for $2, I was nervous and on a minute work break I clicked to purchase I thought well, it's a price you can't put on an experience like that Disappointingly, after reading what I had just done, I saw I would be guaranteed seats somewhere between rows 1- I thought that was strange The tickets were to be fed-exed to me enough time before the concert, but the company changed that to getting them emailed to me the night before the show After several communications through emails & phone calls, I could not get a refund so close to the concert date To make this long story short, we were in row 18, I got ripped off! Someone I work with got better seats in row for less than $on Stub Hub I emailed them saying I would never use Online City Tickets again, that they ripped me off, and I don't agree with their business practices!

This company writes all of their disclaimers discretely so that a person will not "catch" onto what they are really doing to you, which is totally ripping you off

Using paid ads with [redacted] , this vendor positioned themselves at the top of the page when recently doing a search for a specific show at a specific venue that I was going to purchase from [redacted] I missed the trick and ordered tickets through themI was only after my order posted that I realized I had been dupedAfter finding the tickets I wanted on [redacted] for the same show in the same venue in the same section of seats I was further horrified to find that I had spent nearly twice what [redacted] wanted for the same ticketsTo put the final nail in the coffin, I am not able to get my tickets in advance (they are a gift)I need to wait until just before the show so Online City tickets can make a market for the tickets I purchased (which should be no problem for them given the price I paid)

Complaint: I am rejecting this response because: Nothing they say in response to my complaint addresses the point that they used a deceitful practice (misleading URL) to lead me into their site? There are over similar complaints at the Consumer Affairs website. The web page gives no clear indication that you are on a Resellers page -- The big header reads OAKLAND TICKETS, the next biggest header says? BROWSE EVENTS AT FOX THEATER OAKLAND and only when you read the small print does it say anything about their being a reseller? Online City Tickets used an intentionally misleading URL to trick me into thinking I was purchasing my ticket from the box office of the venue I was buying tickets for.? In my case, I wanted to buy tickets for Van Morrison at the Fox Theater in Oakland.? Online City Tickets uses the URL fox.theatreoakland.com.? This is intentionally deceitful.? Online City Tickets may be a legitimate business (I hope so for my sake) but they operate in a sleazy fashion Sincerely, Duane [redacted]

Thank you for reaching out to usOnline City Tickets always appreciates the opportunity to address a customer’s concernsWe have reached an amicable resolution with Ms [redacted] , but wanted to address her specific issues In regards to Ms [redacted] statement from the venue website, it should be noted that Online City Tickets is not directly affiliated with any artist or venue and does not generate tickets as a primary box office; rather, we act as an intermediary between fans and ticket holdersAs such, any last-minute changes are made entirely at the discretion of the venue or artist and are beyond our controlThis is clearly stated in the Sales Terms and Conditions that Ms [redacted] agreed to when submitting her order In some cases, customers may want a refund for issues related to the event experience; on our end, we always consider a variety of factors in order to be helpful to our customersAs noted above, we have resolved this matter with Ms [redacted] and hope she will consider Online City Tickets for her future event ticket needsIf Ms [redacted] has any further questions or concerns regarding this or any other order, we welcome her to contact a member of our customer service teamRegards,Online City Tickets

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: unfortunately, the response from online city tickets is inaccurate and misleadingI spoke with [redacted] today and they said the package was not shipping until late on the 14thAlso, the "one time courtesy to resolution" is a discount code only worth 10% or $off my next purchase with them, which I will NEVER use because I am NEVER using this site againI did not at the time and do not currently accept that in any way as an "amicable resolution" to their scam Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Thank you for reaching out to us. At Online City Tickets, we value our customers and would like to take the time to address Mr. [redacted] concerns. It should be noted that Online City Tickets is an online resale marketplace, which means we do not own or generate tickets—instead, we merely... facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellers.Mr. [redacted] has stated that he was directed to our site by an official venue. However, it should be noted that we have no affiliation with any venue and our branding is intentionally different to distinguish our self from those of any other site. Directly on our website it states, “We are a resale marketplace, not a box office or venue. Ticket prices may exceed face value. This site is not owned by Scottrade Center.” After selecting tickets Mr. [redacted] was directed to review his itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed all fees per ticket, the price per ticket, and the total price of $1,181.95 in bold text. Mr. [redacted] stated he saw the fees displayed but was unaware it was per ticket though it clearly stated "x 5" next to the service fee. Mr. [redacted] was required to agree to our terms and conditions—visible in a text box—and presented with the message in bold “All sales are final.” At this point, Mr. [redacted] was also presented with the message “I agree to the sales terms and conditions listed above,” and a check box that needed to be selected in order to continue with checkout. Our sales policies, including our “all sales are final” policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process and displayed at checkout with the message “All sales are final. All prices are listed in US Dollars (USD).” Since customers are purchasing tickets owned and listed by individual resellers, we must ensure that our policies are fair to both parties. This means that we are unable to offer refunds and must adhere to an “all sales are final” policy—a standard throughout the industry. We recently reached out to Mr. [redacted] to offer a resolution that would be amicable to both parties, stepping outside of the sales terms agreed to at checkout. However, Mr. [redacted] declined this offer. As Mr. [redacted] valid and authentic tickets were delivered on 10/27 prior to his event on 5/30/17, we consider this matter closed. We encourage Mr. [redacted] to contact our customer service team with any additional concerns he may have. Regards, Online City Tickets

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/09/01) */ Thank you for bringing this matter to our attentionWe take the customer experience seriously and would like to take the time to address Ms [redacted] concernsWe should explain that OnlineCityTickets.com is an online exchange, which means we do not own or generate tickets--instead, we facilitate transactions between ticket buyers and ticket sellersThis fact is noted on every ticket and checkout page and at the top of our homepage with the statement: ""We are a resale marketplacePrices may exceed face valueThis site is not owned by any venue." When Ms [redacted] selected tickets and was taken to our checkout page, she was directed to review her itemized order breakdown, which clearly displayed all fees, the price per ticket, and the total price in bolded textThen, Ms [redacted] was directed to review our terms and conditions--visible in a text box below this order total--and presented with the bolded message "All sales are final." At this point, she was also presented with the message "I agree to the sales terms and conditionsI have reviewed the Order Summary above,"" and a check box that she needed to click to continue with checkoutBelow this check-box, another message was displayed that, in Ms [redacted] case, read: "By clicking 'Place Order', your credit card will be charged $1138.15, which includes ticket, service, and delivery fees." This notice was followed by a button labeled "Place Order." When Ms [redacted] clicked this button, she signified her acknowledgement of the total price and these terms, and completed her order Our sales policies, including our "all sales are final" policy, are disclosed throughout the purchase process--from a notice on every ticket page to a sales terms statement displayed at checkout with the message "All sales are finalAll prices are listed in US Dollars (USD)." Additionally, all sellers on our site are notified as soon as an order for their tickets is placed, which means we are unable to cancel orders or offer refundsWhile we regret Ms [redacted] frustration, she was made aware of this fact, and made an educated, conscious decision to purchase tickets from our site OnlineCityTickets.com has contacted Ms [redacted] , and we feel we have reached a resolution that suits both partiesWe now consider this issue closedIf Ms [redacted] would like to attend another live event in the future, or if she has any questions about an order or our website, we welcome her to reach out to us
