We can confirm the refund was processed on January 8, 2015. We ask the customer allow an average of seven days to see the refund on his end and 10 business days to receive the Kohl's Merchandise Credit.
I rejected Kohls resolution because they said please wait 5-7 days for the issue to be resolved. However, on June 14 I received another spam from them.

Our customer has reached out our Executive Offices directly. It appears the customer's concern was resolved as of March 21, 2017. At this time, we consider this matter closed.
We have processed an additional credit in the amount of $8.95 on November 08, 2016. This was credited to the Visa ending in 9242, please advise our customer to allow 7-10 business days for the credit to appear.
In order for us to research our customer's concern accordingly, we need more information. • Was the customer provided a Kohl's Merchandise Credit for the number, if so, are they able to provide the number?

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]I paid for the order with several Kohl's merchandise credits. Upon Kohl's cancelling the item in my order I have not received a refund back to any of the merchandise credits I used to pay for the order. I was charged $13.73 on card ending in x[redacted], $52.85 on card ending in x[redacted] and $47.09 on card ending in x[redacted]. The returned value has not been credited back to any of these merchandise credits. Upon calling Kohl's customer they stated I would be issued a new merchandise credit for the refund, but I have not received this. Thank you Regards,

Upon review, we received her concern through a different avenue. She has been advised the pending charges have been removed. In addition, we encourage her to return the incorrect order to the store once it arrives to receive an immediate refund.
