A collection was added to my credit report without my knowledge.
Jefferson Capital placed a collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me.
I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information.
1. Full original Account Number
2. Date original Account was opened
3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed
4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt
5. Date of the first delinquency
6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.
If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all credit reporting agencies.
Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by lalw.

I am rejecting this response because:
I have never had an account with them. Please follow the regulations of The Fair Credit Reporting Act Section 609 and 611, which state you have to provide the original contract between you and I and how you've validated anything. You can't because I've never did business with Them.

I have received daily phone calls from this debt collection agency. They have placed my account from Verizon Wireless into collections on all of my credit reports. I have disputed this account multiple times through credit karma/etc. and it has been removed. Jefferson Capital is the 3rd company to buy this debt of $600. Jefferson Capital offers no email address or ability to deal with them in writing which is most appropriate for these types of debt collection accounts. Verizon Wireless was very inaccurate and escalated the amount due in the billing. They refused to provide me with an itemized accounting of what I owed them. I was aware that I would owe them $200 for my final billing upon changing to a different cell phone carrier. I want to settle, and pay them the $200 I owe them to have it deleted from my credit, but they don't do anything in WRITING. Mass calling and harassment over a fraudulent billing has made me weary of dealing with this company. The fact that the collection was dismissed multiple time shows a lacking in the credible evidence they possess.

Jefferson Capital is reporting an old debt Verizon account as a new debt that has been removed off of my credit report and the information is falsely stating that I opened the account August 05, 2019 in the amount of $732. I was not given notice that the collection was being added to my credit reports, which is a FDCPA violation. I contacted them and was told the credit bureaus do not require them to contact an account holder before they begin reporting account information. This inaccurate information will allow them to collect beyond the 7 years and makes me look as a high risk to lenders with a false newly reported collections account.

I have a collection account listed on my credit report from Jefferson Capital from what appears to be a Fingerhut account. I have never received any correspondence from Jefferson capital before the collection account was posted which is a violation of FDCPA. The last Fingerhut account I have had was more than 7 years ago and it was paid in full.
I request from Jefferson Capital the full original Account Number the date original Account was opened,Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed, A full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt as well as the date of the first delinquency . It is my opinion that Jefferson Capital has violated the FDCPA on many levels with this account, Therefore the collection account should be permanently deleted from all of the credit reporting agencies

I am tired of Jefferson capital calling me all hours of the day, they are trying to collect a early termination fee for Verizon wireless that I was told by Verizon that I wouldn't be charged for due to poor phone service with their company. I do not feel I have to pay considering I was told I wouldn't owe, I want this taking off my credit reports and Verizon to admit their wrong doing, I made sure my current bill was paid before ending my contract. This has been going on for 3 years.

Over the past couple of months I have reviewed my credit report and I noticed that Jefferson Capital has put a collections account on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so they violated the FDCPA Collection practice by placing an account on my credit report without sending a letter to me directly. Additionally, MULTIPLE requests were sent to them asking them to validate this "debt" in which they have never responded to either. Since Jefferson Capital Systems has not been able to provide the information that has been requested since February, they are required to remove this account from the reporting agencies since they have placed this account on my credit file without my knowledge, and it has been well over 30 days since they have been asked to validate this debt with no response.

This agency purchased an old credit card debt I had. I started making payments to Jefferson Capital in September 2019. I made payments on time every month until I paid the balance in February 2020. Their website says they update your credit report, every 2 weeks, on the 2cd and 4th Friday. After the account was paid, they were to have updated my credit report removing the old account and providing a new credit card which was opened, within 30 says. It’s been 2 months since I paid the account and not once has my credit report been updated to show I started making payments in September or the account is even paid off. When I call them to ask them to update it, their response was I have to call the old credit card company. I call the old credit card company who says they haven’t had the account since 2018 and that Jefferson Capital, who is listed on my credit report as the current owner, has to update the account since it’s theirs now. I was misled and the website is very inaccurate as to how they report. If I was told this from the beginning then I would have found another way to pay it instead of lying Jefferson Capital and it is still reporting that I owe the old credit card company this debt.

Jefferson Capital bought a debt of mine from First Premier Bank the settlement agreement was for $300 and as I paid they were report to credit bureau. They've never reported to the credit bureau by continue to pay and pay the debt off. Jefferson Capital intern sold my debt to another collection agency fbcs , who in t turn try to collect on the same debt for $400. I contacted fbcs I notify them that this that has been paid and I don't understand why they're contacting me about this. They informed me that Jefferson Capital hired them to collect on a debt that's already been paid. Try reaching out to Jefferson Capital several times never get through never get a call back after leaving a message. When I finally got through I spoke to a person to foreign accent when turn told me they do not report to the credit bureaus they do not issue a letter stating into debt is settled it's up to First Premier Bank to do it. First Premier Bank notified me that Jefferson Capital bought the debt and it no longer has anything to do with it. Jefferson Capital steel post to my credit same as negative debt they will not remove it and I don't know what to do

Well good morning with speaking to Financial Business & Consumer Solutions , this account was sold to them for the amount that your company was also charging me. In fact it wasn't recalled they send it back . Also I was told every time a payment was made it will be reported . But then told something different by your company.. I connected First Premier Bank and they in turn let me know thy sold it to you and had nothing to do with it after that . They are still on my credit and I was told by your company once the debt is paid, I have to then have to reach out to First Premier Bank in order to have them removed all from my credit . I truly feel your company has lied and breached the agreement in more ways then one. Also after reading the r***ews I see this has been done more then once to other people.

I have filed multiple disputes about the debt that Jefferson Capital Systems is trying to recover. This debt was not only signed for by someone other than myself, but it has also passed the limitations of the guidelines set for debt recovery in Minnesota. Of the 5 disputes I have filed I have received one reply and that was that the debt was in fact legitimate. I later contacted the original creditor who verified they had not been approached by Jefferson Capital Systems on an inquiry into the file and that my questions were the first they'd heard since the debt was purchased. They are liars and agents skilled in the art of coning people out of their money under illegitimate claims.

I just received a copy of my credit reports and Jefferson Capital Systems added a collection to my credit reports without notifying me in writing. I have no knowledge of this account. I have never received any communication from Jefferson Capital Systems. This is a violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act. I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information: 1. Who was the original creditor on this account, and what is the account number? 2. What is the original amount owed? Please provide a complete payment history, starting with the original creditor. 3. Provide me documentation that indicates that I agreed to pay someone this sum of money. 4. What was the original date of delinquency for this account? 5. Agreement that grants you the authority to collect on this alleged debt, or proof of acquisition by assignment. 6. What did you pay for this account, and how did you calculate the current amount owed? 7. Provide original documents with my signature validating that I owe the debt. If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, DELETE this account from all Credit Reporting Agencies.

I have gone back and forth with JCS for several years over an old Verizon account they say I owe a balance on. I talked to Verizon and they have no record of me owing a debt. I have disputed with the credit agencies to no avail. I have requested validation numerous times (most recently a letter sent on Jan 18 2020) but have not received the validation that was requested.

Unifin was contracted by Jefferson Capital to collect on a debt originally owned by Pioneer Military Lending. Unifin & I came to a settlement amount of $2669.67. This was in February of 2020. On March 13 I obtained a Cashiers check in that amount. It was then mailed to Unifin and delivered on March 19th and deposited on March 20th. It officially cleared the account on March 30th. The first week of April, a call was made to Unifin to get an update as I had not received a receipt nor anything stating this was now settled. They claimed the check bounced and that they shredded the check. How did they shred the check? Even if a cashier check could bounce, how did they get the check back from the bank to allegedly shred it? Cashier checks are prepaid instruments, and unlike a personal check, they do not bounce. Unifin then claimed that they shredded the check. I was baffled by this because if this was sincerely true, they would have called or sent a letter. They had no hesitation in calling or sending a letter when attempting to previously collect a debt. They then told me that since the money never left my account, I should go ahead and just pay with my debit card. After arguing with them for some time and telling them that cashiers checks do NOT bounce, they said they'd investigate and give me a call back. When they called back, they told me they were still investigating. In the mean time I called my bank (Chase bank) who told me an attempt had been made on the cashiers check as an ACH debit which resulted in it being declined. My bank then told me the check cleared the account on March 30th and provided me with a written letter and proof. Yet Unifin denies this despite the check being clearly stamped "Unifin for deposit only" ( which Chase provided me with a company). To this date, I have not heard from Unifin or Jefferson.
Place collection on credit report without proof of debt... Unwilling to contact original creditor to verify collection error. Only ratification is payment of debt to agency. Contacted both Jefferson capitol and Verizon multiple times. Neither are willing to correct.

March 20th, I emailed a dispute to Jefferson Capital Systems and April 9th they responded with a supposed verification of debt. However, they did not respond with the following that I requested in my initial request
I have attempted to dispute several times because I have no knowledge of this debt. I was not given notice that the collection was being added to my account, which is a FDCPA violation. I am requesting the following information:
4.
1. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt
2. Date of the first delinquency
3. Dates and times of any phone calls made by Jefferson Capital System and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.
I was not given the 30 day period to respond before the collection was added, which is a right guaranteed to me by law.

On March 28,2020 a collection account, with a balance of $4,323, was reported to the credit bureaus by Jefferson Capital Systems. The agency notated that the account was opened 23 July 2019. Prior to March of this year the company was not listed on my credit report and the 2019 open date has greatly diminished my ability to dispute this debt. I have disputed through the credit bureaus . I have never received any documentation from the company and they are currently not register to operate in VA which is where I am stationed. Since 28 March I have received 135 phone calls from a company identifying themselves as Jefferson Capital Systems (757)279-2139. I have credit reports from all three bureaus dated 22 February that do not list this company. I have also reported this company CFPB due to their dishonest reporting practices.
