I have disputed a debt, both electronically and in writing to Jefferson Capital Systems and they responded with a supposed verification of debt. I have no knowledge of the debt and I was not given notice that the collection was being added to my account, which is a Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) violation. At the time of my dispute, I requested the following: 1. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt 2. Date of the first delinquency 3. Dates and times of any phone calls made by Jefferson Capital System and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.
I have attempted to contact JCS multiple times via phone and email with no response.
I am requesting this be immediately removed from all credit reporting agencies.

Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me.
I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information.
1. Full original Account Number
2. Date original Account was opened
3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed
4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt
5. Date of the first delinquency
6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.
If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs.
Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.

I have takes with this company and they say I owe money because of Verizon, I have takes to Verizon and they say that’s not true at all and I do not have any balance past or present. I talked with this company a few months ago and they do nothing but trying to get money that I owe no one.

I recently noticed a collection account on my credit report from Jefferson capital systems. FDCPA was violated when 1. The creditor has not validated the debt 2. Been able to provide written agreement that shows that I agreed to pay what is claim owed 3. Notify in writing prior to reporting to credit bureau 4. When spoke to representative made it clear that the account is being disputed and has yet to be updated as a disputed account with all 3 CRA's.

I recently checked my credit report and it indicated I have a collection from Jefferson Capital systems. I have not received any notice of this alleged debt. I called Jefferson Capital Systems on June 2, 2020 and entered my social security number through the automated system. The automated response was that "my account is being handle by an outside service provider" and to call 8884077636. I spoke to a woman that said I owned $297 from an apparent 5 year old verizon wireless bill. She said her company was "Univar". She said that they have sent collections notices and tried calling, but apparently they did not have my correct address on hand. She said she could not give me more details over the phone.
I called the "Univar" company back today and asked for them to clarify the name of their company but they said that they cannot tell me the name of their company. Univar is not listed as a registered agent in the state of Oregon. They added collection to my credit report without first contacting me and they are not a registered agent in Oregon. Both of these are FDCPA violations.
I request that Jefferson Capitol/Univar verify the following information.
If Jefferson Capital Systems/Univar is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs.

Capital Jefferson purchased my VERIZON DEBT FROM COLLECTION AGENCY AND THE REAGED MY DEBT STATING I OPEN THE ACCOUNT IN 06/19. My Verizon account was open in 05/17. They will not provide account verification information to me.
On April 13, 2020 Jefferson Capital Systems received my certified letter requesting validation of an account(s)***. I have not received a response. Under Texas Finance Code Section 392.202 a debt collection agency has thirty (30) calendar days to respond to a debt validation request. If they fail to respond to validation request then they have essentially admitted, per Texas Finance Code 392.202(b)(2), that the debt in question is inaccurate. As of June 1,2020 they are still reporting account on my credit. Which puts them in violation of various state collection laws. I am making every effort to resolve this matter without presenting this matter in court. I am confident that by channeling this dispute through the Revdex.com, a more simple resolution can be made. If they delete the account, cease reporting it to the credit bureaus, and provide written confirmation of the same, I will consider this matter resolved.

Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. Plus there is NO verification from the LA Secretary of State that they are registered in Louisiana which is also against the FDCPA!
They added a collection to my credit reports without my knowledge! I have not kept up with my Credit Reports due to health issues. They have been there since 2018! I have checked & can't verify their registration in Louisiana! BOTH are FDCPA violations! I also searched on Revdex.com.org and can't find an address on them in my area at all! They have to legally have a building in Louisiana and be registered to collect in this state!
I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information.
1. Full original Account Number
2. Date original Account was opened
3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor

Jefferson Capital Systems has been reporting unverified debt, that has been disputed. I never received any documentation of the collection being added to my account, which violates the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I have requested that Jefferson Capital System provide the following information:
1. A full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt.
2. Date of first delinquency
3. Dates and times of any phone calls made by Jefferson Capital System and to what number in an attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.
This information was requested well over 30 days ago, as such I request the alleged debt be removed from any and all reporting agencies.

Complaint: 14384631
I am rejecting this response because: This is not a valid response to the complaint of the actions taken in violation of the Iowa Consumer Credit Code and 47 USC 415. This entity has not validated the debt, they have failed to outline how the amount was calculated, when the account became delinquent or produce a contract or other document determining responsibility for the account and the attached documentation does not validate the debt. Additionally, even if this were a valid debt, which I do not believe it is, it exceeds both the state of Iowa and federal statute of limitations.
Sincerely,
L*** L
Although we disagree with the merits of the
dispute, in order to resolve this matter we have terminated collection efforts on this account and requested
the credit bureaus to delete our tradeline. Thank you for the opportunity to respond.
I have sent 2 letters to Jefferson Capital requesting that they Validate the debt being reported on my Credit report. I have received two form letters from this company asking me to further provide them with information. There is no need for me to provide them with any information. By law they are required to validate this debt, which they have failed to do so, causing me further damages. I have given them the account number that they are furnishing to the credit reporting agencies, so they have sufficient information to either validate or delete this account.
The FDCPA states you must cease collection activity until you have produced validation of the alleged debt if so requested. As per the FTC, this includes reporting to the credit bureaus, which you obviously have done illegally. It is quite evident that no such proof of this alleged debt exists or you would have provided it in the previous months since it was requested. Also, when an alleged debt is disputed, a notation must be entered on the debtors credit report showing the item as in dispute. Again, this was not done.
I’m sure they are aware of the consequences in violating the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as well as the multiple violations your company is now responsible for.
I became aware of the Debit in 2019 via my experian credit report. I have sent letters, email and spoke to them on the phone. Last contact was made today and they have not sent me any validation of debt as requested by me. This is messing with my credit and I would like it resolved ASAP. I am tired of waiting with zero response. They keep mailing me bills so I know they have my address. I have no knowledge of this debt.

On Monday, May 18, 2020 I had contacted Jefferson Capital to make my payment in full. When I had contact the number listed they advised me my account was being handled by another agency and to contact them to make a payment. I contacted the number they provided me and made my payment in full and requested to have an email receipt sent to me. I was never told no we can't but stated they would be able to help me with that once the payment was made.
Prior to contact Jefferson Capital on Monday when they had my previous number they would contact me over 8 times a day and prior to 8am in the morning. Which is by law illegal and harassment so I blocked their number. Because of the specific harassment they had caused I did not update my address or information with them. This is why they currently do not have my current mailing/home address. The person whom took my payment stated they would email me a receipt.
As of today I have yet to receive the confirmation of payment. When I called Jefferson Capital today to follow up on my email confirmation of payment request they bluntly stated they cannot email. I had asked to speak with a supervisor who rudely decided to tell me that when you file your complaint tell them that you refused to have something mailed to you AND THEN HUNG UP ON ME. That supervisor who communicated this information to me and then hung up on me should be fired. Just because you are a debt collector give you no right to do business the way Jefferson Capital does which the way they do business is illegal.

To Whom It May Concern:
To receive a letter encrypted stating the my account was paid in full is accurate, but doesn't state what the details were including the amount. It also states the agreement is not binding to Jefferson Capital Systems if payment is returned. I'm quite sure that you don't sent notifications to all consumers saying paid in full but its not binding. I wanted a emailed receipt not an explanation. Nor did I get an explanation of why the supervisor hung up on me. My account was closed with *** for some time and you had acquired it PRIOR to October 2019, so now your statements are a lie. Before I submitted my complaint I did see that everyone else has the same problem. Call and harass people, don't call during legal times that your allowed to. Again a receipt request showing the amount that was owed and paid. What does paid in full me ... its very vague and doesn't meet the receipt requirements.
