This company added a "collections" to my credit report for a credit card I've never had. I have contacted these people 3X and no one has gotten back to me. This is FRAUD, pure and simple. They are looking for a payday on debt I do not owe.

I received a disturbing letter that I was being sued by this company but had NO clue what it was for. Was nervous to call based of these reviews.
BUT I reached out and was pleasantly surprised, Jessica *** helped me, she was pleasant, only asked for my name, address, and the last 4 of my SSN and was able to tell me who the company, amount, and date occurred . Provided all my options and answered all my questions.

Jefferson Capital Systems reported negative credit information to the credit bureaus that was knowingly incorrect. This entry was made to my reportJuly 12, 2020. The said debt was paid off to the original creditor back in March of 2020. I have never had any business with Jefferson Capital Systems. The original creditor has never sent any documents to indicate their relationship with this agency. Reporting a negative account after it has already been remedied is false and violates my rights as a consumer protected under the Fair Credit Reporting act. This erroneous error on my report has cost me a decrease in my credit score.

Jefferson is reporting on all three of my credit reports. I do not owe any money to this company, and have never had any contract with them. This collection agency must make disclosures in writing clearly and is in violation of Section 5(a) of the Federal Trade Commission Act (FTC Act) "unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce." I want this deleted from all three of my credit reports immediately.

Jefferson Capital has provided me with the document communicating with me that they have the account and terminated action however as recently as April of 2020 the bureaus are indicating that they have been able to verify the account. How is this possible? Also the account was reported as updated as recently as April of 2020, again how is this possible. I reached out to Jefferson Cap and rep confirmed that the account is terminated and is listed as "no further action" in their system in December of 2019. So how does the reporting happen in 2020? The original creditor of the account claims not fault because they sold/transferred the account to Jefferson Cap and Jefferson Cap rep was unsure how this could happen and was unable to explain who is reporting the account updated and who is verifying with the bureaus?

I've never had an account with AT&T West and I received a letter from Jefferson Capital saying I owe $202. I contacted them and they refused to tell me what the account was for. I asked them at least 15 times when the account was.they wouldn't answer any of my questions they just kept repeating themselves over and over that you have a day that you have a. I tried to tell him I didn't have it yet because I never had an account with AT&T.they wouldn't tell me any information I asked to speak to the manager they put me on hold.and then he started his little speech again you haven't had count this is how much when are you going to pay but never provided me and refused to provide me with any detailed.

Out of nowhere they put a collection my credit report for a card that I NEVER HAD. This made a HUGE drop in my credit score, which is insane because I've paid all my debts. I paid off a claim for some old forgotten cable bill a month ago and now they smell blood in the water, and have found either some old card form decades ago or it's outright identity theft.
Disputed it though transunion and Jefferson came back REAL QUICK saying no.
This is literally racketeering. My credit is held hostage by this false claim.

Jefferson Capital has been calling me since January with one representative threatening me and stating that an average person had money sitting around & that I needed to pay them their money. I took it upon myself to record the interaction. My debt was never verified, yet I’ve been getting calls on my phone, at work and mail stating that I needed to pay them immediately. Last week, they went ahead and put a collections on my account, when the last piece of mail received stated that my “ account” could’ve been paid in full by the end of July. I have gotten a lawyer who reached out to a manager on Friday, but there was no one to answer her call. On top of all of this, the collection added to my credit report resulted in a 40 point decrease. Not only do I have to deal with the effects of covid, but I now have to deal with the damage to my livelihood. Jefferson Capital has absolutely no regard for how their abuse & negative remarks on people’s credit scores can mentally and financially impact them.

After graduating from college, I checked my check report found out that there were a few things listed that did not pertain to me. Jefferson Capital Systems was one of those items. I then disputed this item and it came back that I owed a bill through Verizon. I wrote Verizon and explain that I don't owe them anything I never had a phone with them. I checked my credit today and realized this collection is still listed. I called Jefferson Capital Systems and spoke to a manager by the name of ***, the call was conferenced with myself and my mother-in-law. We explained to Mr. that we tried to dispute this bill and it's not going away. He asked if we wanted to settle the account. I stated yes, because I just want this taken off my credit. I asked for the settlement be put in writing and will make the payment. Mr. stated that he needed my payment information today before I hung up the phone. My mother-in-law explain that she works for the Police Department and just wanted to look up the company before I submitted my information to a stranger without in writing. When she did that Mr. hung up the phone. I want Jefferson Capital Systems to remove this collection item from my credit immediately. I have tried everything I can to have this taken care of and nothing is working. I was not going to pay $372.93 which was the agreed amount to have this item completely removed from my credit report without having something in writing and obviously Mr. was not able to do this. So please removed this derogatory from my credit report.

Prior to June 2019, I had a collections on my credit account from Pioneer MCB from 2014. This is no longer visible on my credit meaning that it was removed; however, Jefferson placed me back into collections earlier this year with a start date of 2019. At no point did Jefferson attempt to contact me as required and did not notify me about their acquisition of my account as required. When the collection hit my account, I attempted to contact Jefferson and resolve the issue but was informed that they could do this to me and would not fix the date. Now my account is with their subsidiary legal representation ***. who will also not assist me in correcting this issue, but were kind enough to finally send me over all of my loan documentation. Jefferson has attempted to re-age my account without my authorization which is illegal.

Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. I checked & can't verify their registration in Massachusetts ; Both would be FDCPA violations. I have no information on this debit at all. I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information: 1. Full original Account Number 2. Date original Account was opened 3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed 4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt 5. Date of the first delinquency 6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law. If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this account must be deleted from all CRAs. Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.

My Complaint is about this issue with Jefferson Capital Systems LLC based in St. Cloud, MN as of November 2019 a call from this collection Agency has been in Violation since 2019. Back in 2017 the original owners which was *** Wireless settled in court due to a Class Action Lawsuit that was filed and was Settled! *** Wireless agreed to closed account as it was closed on my credit. As of November 2019 apparently my information was sold off to Jefferson Capital Systems LLC to try and collected $1931.00. I have tried contacting these individuals by phone and have been given the run arounds and I have told them they are in Violation of the 2016-2017 Class Action Lawsuit through *** Wireless. Only to be told that I have to pay this amount in ordered to have it removed off my credit. They have contacted me to many times to where I had to block every number they have. Recently during COVID 19 all businesses were closed but yet Jefferson Capital Systems LLC contacted me in order to collect money when they were not an Essential Business! I have told them numerous amount of times to have this issue removed but yet they are still trying collected! Dozens of people have complained about this company in the past 7 months as being a scam. One even noted that they drain his bank account just to collected! I have reach my end of my rope with this company.

This agency has called me several times after I asked them to remove my name off their list and to stop calling me. Dealing with kidney failure, my health is not the best. I do not need/welcome the uninvited calls from this business, especially when they have not allowed me to validate or dispute this alleged debt. Their calls are causing me unneeded stress. These actions are in violation of the FDCPA.
In addition, I'd like to know what authority does Jefferson Capital have to collect on this account, and why they believe I owe in the first place? Please be advised my only income is Social Security benefits, which is not subject to garnishment or attachment. My bank account only contains deposits from my income sources and therefore is also exempt from garnishment and attachment, and I have no assets I own. Upon receipt of this letter, please stop all communication, or civil actions will follow. Your immediate compliance is mandatory.

I just received a negative reporting on my credit report on 7/12/2000 from Jefferson Capital. I was not able to speak with anyone, but the automated system says that the last payment they received from me was in 2017. How crazy is this? Three years go by, I have no idea who this is from and you report after three years has past?!?!? I have not seen Jefferson Capital on my report, who is the business and why wait this long after a last payment in 2017!!

My current credit reports are showing a collection account from Jefferson Capital Systems. They are reporting the account without ever contacting me by phone or mail. This is a FDCPA violation. I have attempted to contact them several times as they continue to report to my credit with no answer from them.

Called into settle debt and customer service rep was extremely rude. She revealed the last four of my social without verifying who I was. Which upset because it was not full social but makes me question the integrity of the business. Never authorized this company to have my information.

I have a debt with Jefferson Capital Systems for a debt from ***. I haven't had a version account until 08/2018. This account was opened in 2014 and was already cleared from *** then 02/2018 this debt was added as an opened account. I've tried to resolve this with *** but they cant help me so when I call Jefferson capital I get a call center in India who is unable to help me. They have never made an attempt to collect this debt and still havent even tho I've talked to them several times.
