On Juny 24, 2019 Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC received my certified letter requesting validation of an account(s)***. I have not received a response. Under Texas Finance Code Section 392.202 a debt collection agency has thirty (30) calendar days to respond to a debt validation request. If they fail to respond to validation request then they have essentially admitted, per Texas Finance Code 392.202(b)(2), that the debt in question is inaccurate. As of September 30, 2019 they are still reporting account on my credit. Which puts them in violation of various state collection laws. I am making every effort to resolve this matter without presenting this matter in court. I am confident that by channeling this dispute through the Revdex.com, a more simple resolution can be made. If they delete the account, cease reporting it to the credit bureaus, and provide written confirmation of the same, I will consider this matter resolved.

In September of 2013, our Verizon Wireless phone numbers were ported over to Sprint, when we changed carriers. Our bills were on auto-pay, & were paid on time, 100% of the time. Since phone numbers could not be retained, & ported over to another carrier, without the account being paid in full & current, there could not be an unpaid balance. The account was paid in full. Sometime thereafter, Verizon allegedly made a false claim, that there was an amount due, even though our phone numbers were properly ported to our new Sprint account. This amount was denied, but was still sold for collection. Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC, was the last know entity that continued to allege this claim. This is false. We do not owe them any money, & the time limit for them to file suit is long past, as we are now six years beyond having an account with Verizon Wireless. This is the only such item posted to my credit bureaus, which I just finally identified as the reason for being denied credit. I previously had a credit report, with an 840 FICO score, but this has lowered it to 709. This is causing a myriad of problems, since all of our accounts are joint, except for cell phones, since that was provided through my employer. Even though it is solely in my name, it has affected our joint credit applications significantly, as my husband also has a FICO score, of over 800. Every other bill, mortgage, auto loan, utility, insurance & other miscellaneous bills and charges, are ALL on auto-pay, as we are very responsible individuals, with respect to any and all financial matters. This includes bills from THREE properties we own, not just our residence. This is the only such thing that is incorrect, yet causing us both serious financial complexities, as a result of this incorrect allegation. If this is not removed from my three credit reports IMMEDIATELY, we will both have to move forward with legal action against Jefferson Capital Systems, LLC. Our joint research has discovered dozens, upon dozens of complaints, against this business. I therefore demand this false post to my three credit reports be removed, & written verification of such be mailed to my home address. If this is done immediately, no legal action will be taken, & we are both willing to NOT seek damages, for the harm this has caused us both. This allegation of non-paid debt, is defamatory.

My ex wife got a piece of letter in the mail for me. I have never used her address for anything so how they got her address I have no idea. But it is stating that I owe 592.86 and they want me to just pay 296.43 for a Bank of America account. I am currently deployed in Iraq and don’t have access to any of my paperwork but I have not had Bank of America for over 10 years so how does this bill just magically just pop up out of nowhere and Bank of America or anyone else has never contacted me about this bill that I didn’t even know I had. I am very confused, and also do not need my mail going to my ex wife. Thank you.

I don't have any knowledge of this debt or have a contract with this company. I disputed this debt with the credit bureaus and it came back verified I have since then contacted the company and haven't received a response. Where are the documents that your company used to verify that you are reporting this account accurately? What is the name of the person in your company who verified the accuracy of this account? What documents did they use to verify them? Please provide me with the name of that individual, their company title, and telephone number as well as copies of the documents that they used to verify that this disputed item are being reported accurately.

Dear Madam or Sir: In May 2019 I found out that this company has placed a negative item in my credit reports without sending any notice to me that is required by the laws in general and in particular FDCPA and FCRA. The account number indicated in my reports is *** as far as I am aware of. Consequently I sent a validation request via certified mail on August 27, 2019 and up to this date have received no response at all and they keep verifying whenever I dispute with the credit bureaus. This company has created financial injury to me and I am sure that other people are victim of this illegal activity. Please assist me in this matter.

On September 18, 2019 I received an alert through credit report monitoring that Jefferson Capital System was reporting a collection account of $4,351 under my name under account *** opened August 1, 2018 for a Verizon wireless. I disputed this account as not mine and to delete it through the credit bureau. JEFFERSON Capital has refused to do so. This is a fraudulent account. I have never had a Verizon account. I asked them to send me the 'original contract' with Verizon to verify my signature along with the photo ID used to open this account or delete this account from my credit report permanently because it is fraud and and is not my account. No response from them.

I am a 63 year old disabled veteran living on a fixed monthly income with no access to any money or credit cards. I recently filed for bankruptcy and This business has been incorrectly reporting a debt to credit agencies. I was never contacted by either of these businesses. I have never had a credit card through any company named fingerhut and I have no idea why this company claims that I owe them over $3000. I’ve never made any purchases with credit cards nor has my POA authorized any credit cards to be opened in my name. I only have one bank account and a fixed monthly income and I do not have access to either one. I have no idea where this debt originated from nor do I know why this collection agency is after me.

This company showed up on my credit report stating that I owe $15,337 from 7 years ago. I do not owe this company or the company that they "purchased" this debt from. They will not show me proof that I owe this debt and is not able to produce any documents. I keep being harassed with phone calls and letters stating that I owe this amount and that I need to settle with them to be able to get it removed from my report even though it does not belong to me.

In a recent credit review I noticed this business name on my credit file. I've written letters to the business on June 17, 2019 and July 30, 2019 asking them to remove the inaccurate data on my file. As of date, I've not received any communication, either written or verbal from the business. I am sending my third and final letter on today asking them to remove the inaccurate data and I'm sure I will likely not get a response. Jefferson Capital Systems LLC is lack of communication or response to my inquiries is not in compliance of federal laws under the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and the corresponding local state laws.

A collection account was added to my credit report from Jefferson Capital System. The account is listed as Verizon Wireless. I have no knowledge of this account and do not believe it belongs to me. I was not given notice that the collection was being added to my account, which is a FDCPA violation.Plus there is NO verification from the Florida Secretary of State that they are registered in the State of Florida which is also against the FDCPA.
I request that Jefferson Capitol verify the following information.
1. Full original Account Number
2. Date original Account was opened
3. Any written agreements between myself and the original creditor stating this debt is owed
4. Full account summary and itemized calculation of alleged debt
5. Date of the first delinquency
6. Dates and times of any phone calls made and to what number in attempt to contact me concerning the alleged debt before it was reported to an agency, and so proving that these calls were made in the times governed by FDCPA law.

Jefferson Capital Systems also failed to follow FDCPA by not sending a letter giving the consumer time to dispute or validate the alleged debt within the allowed 30-day time frame that is allowed by law.

If Jefferson Capital Systems is unable to provide the above identifying account information, this collection must be deleted from all 3 credit reporting agencies.

Jefferson Capital Systems had purchased a collection account from Verizon from 2007. I have disputed the amount with Verizon because the collection amount does not match up with the contract. I have never received a response from Verizon and then my account information was sold to Jefferson Capital system. I have sent in 2 letters in the last year to Jefferson Capital system to have this removed from my credit report and still no response. I do not owe the amount they have me in collections for from a Verizon account that dates back 12 years.

This company closed my account and won’t allow me to even attempt to pay any of my debt. So it’s stuck on my credit. I tried reaching out multiple times but I can never get anybody on the phone.

I have made several attempts, both by mail and phone call, to dispute the validity of Jefferson Capital System's claim that I "owe a debt" to them, without any success. On 03/14/2019, after becoming aware of this frivolous report on my credit file, I mailed Jefferson Capital Systems a DVL (Debt Validation Letter) via certified mail. They failed to respond to my request within 30 days of their receipt of the letter. After that, I attempted to dispute the collection reporting via Credit Karma (a third party credit monitoring service) to no avail. Most recently (on or around August 8, 2019) I attempted to contact Jefferson Capital Systems via telephone call, however an extremely rude representative/agent who supposedly attempted to "locate my file", was unable to find any record of me in their system nor was the agent able to locate any record of a debt owed by me in their system.

Lastly, and certainly not the least, I have verified with my state attorney general as well as have referenced section 415(a) of the Federal Communications Act (“FCA”), 47 U.S.C. § 415(a) 47 U.S. Code §?415.Limitations of actions and have confirmed that the statute of limitations on this type of debt has expired as it is a debt relating to cellular services/carrier charges (i.e. verizon wireless).

I ask that Jefferson Capital Systems update their records and delete this collection report from my credit file.

They added a Verizon Wireless collection to my credit reports without my knowledge! I can't verify their business registration in Nevada. These incidents are FDCPA violations!

Jefferson Capital put a collection account on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. The Nevada Secretary of State does not have this company registered, which is also against the FDCPA!

Parcel account on credit reports ***

Jefferson Capital put collection on my credit reports without my knowledge and in doing so, this violated the FDCPA Collection Practice by placing a collection account on my credit report without sending a letter to me. Plus there is NO verification from the AR Secretary of State that they are registered in Arkansas which is also against the FDCPA!
