contacted our office and spoke with a different representative. You were advised in the beginning of the conversation the phone number you provided was removed and you would not receive any further calls to that number. Uncertain of why you were being contacted, we provided all information pertaining to the debt. You were in fact asked personal information that we had on file for you and all of it was verified, by you. At no time did you tell a representative that you believed this office is a scam as you state in the complaint prior to the call being terminated. The allegation that this company is a scam is unfounded and untrue.  As a result we have made the decision to discontinue any collection efforts. You will not be contacted from this office again. I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. Attached is the document that I received from FMR.  In the phone conversation, the lady I spoke with did say that if I didn't pay the amount it would be assumed that I took a payday loan out in effort to commit fraud.  I explained to her that I didn't take a payday loan out and she made a mistake. Will my information be sold/given to another "debt collector" for a non-existent debt?  This has been going on for many years and I'm tired of it.  I had to have the credit bureaus freeze my credit because of this.  Someone got a hold of my information and now many so called "debt collectors" are trying to scam me out of money for non-existent debts.

Movement Recovery (“FMR”) has received the above complaint and appreciates the
opportunity to respond in kind. 
FMR
is a collection agency and the current creditor and owner of an unpaid personal
loan in Ms. [redacted]’s name.  The
personal loan Ms. [redacted] took out,...

originated with [redacted] LTD. The last four
account number digits are [redacted].  We are
attaching the verification of debt letter with our response for Ms. [redacted]’s
convenience.
 
As Ms. [redacted]
indicates, FMR did speak with her on August 13, 2015 when she called into
FMR.  As she called into FMR, we were not
aware that she was at work.  After
verifying all of her necessary information, we informed Ms. [redacted] of the
above information regarding her person loan. 
She explained that she would like to satisfy the loan in full and set up
a payment date to do so. FMR spoke with the
representative that spoke with Ms. [redacted] and they vehemently deny telling
her that there was a case or judgment against her, or threaten her in any
way.  These types of actions against
consumers are strictly prohibited and against FMR’s policies and
procedures.  If there is evidence that
these actions took place, please send them to us and we will handle the
situation accordingly.  However, we have reviewed
this complaint with the representative and a note has been placed in their
file.  We are not sure why Ms.
[redacted]’s email service provider flagged our correspondence to her as spam,
this is the first we have heard of this happening.  We can assure Mr. [redacted] and your office
that FMR is a legitimate company and not a scam.  We are registered with the Secretary of State
and take those types of allegations seriously. 
We are working with our internet provider to determine if there is an
issue to prevent any future correspondence obtaining the same results. 
We are not sure how else
we can assist Ms. [redacted], but we assure that FMR will not contact her
regarding this account again unless she calls back into FMR to resolve the
issue herself.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  From my understanding as to the response it seems perhaps someone could be attempting some sort of scam with the business name. Thank you for looking into it.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I am finding this resolution satisfactory because they have stated that they are changing the status to paid and have agreed to no longer contact me.  This is acceptable for them and for any of their affiliates. If they continue to contact me I will assume they are violating the the terms of this acceptance and reserve the right to continue the complaint.
