I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.The independent contractor Express Flooring hired told me while he was here that the flooring had been installed improperly The laminate should have been able to set in the house for days and not installed the same day The people who installed it did not speak English They kept calling the company during installation and asking how they were supposed to install itThey first tried to install in going in the wrong directionI pointed out that this was not the direction it was to be installed There was much confusion during the installation The independent contractor told me there was no water underneath the laminateHe said the only place that showed high water reading was a small space near the kitchen (There is no damage in this small area!) The contractor told me that I was using the proper cleaning products as well!
In my conversations with Express Flooring they told me they were accredited by the Revdex.com I told them they were not per the Revdex.com website I also brought out the fact that there have been numerous complaints, some similar to mine!
Express Flooring does everything they can do to not honor their lifetime warranty!
I have contacted two different flooring contractors One was an installer for laminate and wood flooring and another who was an inspector for wood/laminate flooring I was asked by the installer had I put down a film or some type of covering prior to installing the laminate They said they this must be done I did not let them know name of Express Flooring They asked if I the installers let the laminate settle prior to installation at least 2-days prior to installationI told them no to both questions (Express Flooring did not do either.)I found a company that inspects these types of situations This inspector is one that courts use especially in regard to lawsuit cases I sent him the Express Flooring report Prior to reading the report, he asked me if Express Flooring did any type of moisture testing prior to installation I told him that I was not sure but did not observe that they did any type of moisture testing He said if they did, it should have been documented somewhere in their report and for their records prior to installation.The inspector also asked me the same information as the flooring installer The contractor should have laid down plastic sheeting or other material prior to installation (which they did not) He also said that any company that installs laminate and/or wood flooring will tell you that it must be allowed to sit in house for 2-days prior to installationIt did not sit for 2-days in house prior to installation.After reading the report, the inspector told me the report lacks clarity and could be very misleading If you read it, you will see what the inspector is talking about Inspector said it was highly unlikely that the damage was caused by any type of water under the house, nor any water spilled or cleaning products He said that if the damage was caused by water, the planks would have damage on both sides of the planks However, the planks only have damage on one side of the planks that are coming up!

I have to be inconvenienced because I have NO CHOICEI will not pick out just anything and be satisfied. Let me explain all the calls I made I was pleasant it was the customer service experience and they started pushing back the date for the tile to come in and be installed, again I have been dealing with them since DecI initiated all calls no one from the company seemed to take initiative, and when they did it turned out that I was the bad guy for complainingI want to be refunded for their mistake

In response to this complaint, let us begin by expressing our most sincere apologies to our customer Regretfully we are unable to read the attachments to this complaint that Mrs*** provided and therefore are not 100% in tune to exactly what she has communicated to the Revdex.com
regarding this matter We have tried to reach out to her a few times since the complaint was received, however she has failed to return our calls We are aware of Mrs*** order and we fully understand that she is unhappy That being said, if you read between the lines here, Mrs*** is not unhappy with anything we did She is simply unhappy with a choice she made The tile she bought from us was the product she specifically wanted She bought it and she hired another contractor to install it She then decided after half the tile was installed in her home that she did not like it anymore and she asked if she could return it If we sold products that could simply be put back into a box and sold to another customer, we would be happy to accept returns But the reality is that this tile is not that type of product and you will never find any company that would accept a return of tile that was already mortared in and installed in someone's home
We are not exactly sure what Mrs*** is expecting us to do, but we are a fair and reasonable company As we said, we have left her a few messages and if Mrs*** would like to call us and communicate exactly what we can do to help her, we are happy to work with her in good faith to reach a resolution to this matter

We reject the response on at least three of their claims The most glaring is that my wife was relieved that it was delayed as she was reconsidering the color! That is as far from the truth as you can get We cancelled as they could not meet our time line as promised We were told that they were out of stock but they found a piece in *** When it arrived we were told that it came in damaged They said they expected a new roll to be delivered but could not give us a time and could not do it within the time we required We were offered a discount in the future but when we requested something in writing, we heard nothing further from them They incurred no cost with our cancellation as the carpet was being restocked because they were out of stock This company has not been reputable, ethical or professional in their dealings with us

Express Home Services, LLC is a reputable and professional company whose utmost goal is always customer satisfaction Please know that both Mrs*** and us both want the same thing, and that is for her repairs to be completed Regretfully, the installation team did
accidentally damage some of the adjacent flooring to the flooring that we installed We showed this to our customer and without hesitation agreed to replace the flooring in that area We showed her a large number of samples that were of a comparable quality to the flooring she had, and Mrs*** picked out the pattern she liked best That particular pattern regretfully was not readily available as it was out of stock from the manufacturer and wouldn't be available until early April This was explained to Mrs*** right away and we offered to let her pick a different pattern that we could get sooner or even get right away if we had it in stock Mrs*** said she loved that pattern and that was what she wanted We agreed that if she loved it, than there was no sense in her settling for something she didn't like as much, but we made it clear that it would be a couple months before we could install it She said she understood and she agreed to wait Since this took place, Mrs*** has called our office on multiple occasions She has made demands for discounts and money back as well, all in relation to something we was made aware of the moment she picked out this specific product We have respectfully declined these requests in the past, as if this situation was so unpleasant and so frustrating, we don't understand why Mrs*** would have insisted on this specific product Additionally, we have offered to allow her to pick out a new product multiple times over the last number of weeks and she refuses to even look at a different product The reality is that this work could have been done over a month ago if Mrs*** would simply pick a different a pattern At this time, and in an effort to resolve this complaint, we again are willing to revisit Mrs*** and have her pick a different pattern of a product that is readily available If she picks something we have in stock, we can install it the next day If Mrs*** insists on waiting for the product she originally choose, we naturally cannot install something we do not have, and all we can do is contact her once it arrives and arrange the installation We feel we are being more than fair and reasonable with this customer and we look forward to completing the needed repairs once the product needed arrives
I was sold commerical carpet as opposed to residuntial carpetguaranteed not to stainif anything is spilled, just wipe off with damp clothA month after installation, I got these stains that were in the same spots as the carpet I replaced..Per Express recommendation, I had a professional cleaning service come out, and the spots came out,, weeks later, spots in the same placeThey sent out an inspector who cleaned the spots with 'water' and determined none of the discoloration is coming up from the base I am not happy with this carpet, it looks dirty, I guess the thing I do now is go out and buy a steam cleaner and use it once a week, which, the 'sales person' told me was not needed as it would only remove all the treatments which makes it 'commerical' grade rather than 'residuntial grade'..I live alone, remove my shoeskeep a clean house, and hate this carpet...Guarantee??
This was a $3k job - check was cashed the same day we wrote itweeks ago The first delay was that the carpet didn't pass inspection - I don't even know what that means and no one can tell me Isnt the carpet inspected at the warehouse? It was emergency ordered - at their cost - gee thanks The new scheduled date was Friday The installer shows up and tells me we have a problem - the carpet isn't large enough to do the room without a seam We look at it - it's not even the right carpet! We get on the phone and no one knows where the carpeting is Meanwhile, all the old carpet has already been removed I speak with Steve the installation manager who promises me that they found our carpet and that it can be installed the next day between 8-am We get a confirmation phone call On Saturday, am, I haven't heard from anyone so I call the office I'm told that the notes say that I changed my mind about the carpet color...what?? I didn't change my mind! It was the wrong carpet! Then I'm told that Steve said I called in the nite before and said that I wanted to wait for the "original role" What does that mean? Why would I do that - we're going on vacation and want carpet in our bedroom so we can sleep Now, by some miracle, some carpet was found and can be installed am on Monday, 12/as promised by Steve I wonder if the wrong carpet will show up again so that they can say they met their obligation? If the right carpet doesn't show up at my house on Monday, 12/at am, this review will turn into a complaint I will want my money back with INTEREST since they've had it for over two weeks Guess we'll be sleeping on the couch a few more nites
AVOID this outfit at all costs
We contracted to have a wood floor installedIt was to be glued downAfter ripping out the thick carpet and pad, it was obvious that the new wood install would be too low compared to the surrounding floorsWe asked the installers if an underlayment would be called for in order to raise the wood to a more acceptable levelThey never bothered to call the salesman or home office for any guidanceThey continued gluingHalfway through the job we again voiced our concerns that the installation was not going to look rightWe were told it would have tall transitions into the surrounding rooms and it was fineIt wasn't fine
When the floor was laid, we asked for a manager to come look at the job and he argued that some extra tall, custom transition strips would fix the problemHe also mentioned that the baseboards should have been removed prior to installation and weren't and that the installers had laid the wood floor with absolutely no expansion room! It was likely to buckleThree major issues on one job
We have gone back and forth with Express for over a month trying to be fair and hoping to get the floor problem solvedThe suggestions have ranged from tearing up the floor, nailing a new floor on top of the old floor, undercutting the base boards, cutting the edges of the existing floors, settling with the tall transitions and a cheap shoe molding to cover the expansion cuts, or a combination of many of the aboveThey also broke a custom shutter and left glue on many surfacesPoor work all around, especially since we asked for and they promised to send their best installers
We have not reached a resolution and have lost use of half of our home for the holidays
At no time did Express admit any error nor offer any apology for the dilemma
The worst part of this is that they now insist that they will not proceed to finish unless and until we pay additional amounts up front to help cover their expenses for their errors!! Unbelievable
They took half of the large payment up front and then and then charged our credit card with the remaining balance, claiming the job was completedWe had to open a credit card case to reverse that charge
We are thoroughly disgusted with this company and their quick and shoddy work

Express Flooring advertises that they offer a FREE in-home estimate with convenient appointment timesI scheduled an appointment for today and received the confirmation email that a representative would be contacting meHowever, no one ever contacted meI called this morning to confirm the appointment and was told that there was NO appointment scheduled for me...but that they could schedule an appointment for TOMORROW...Mother's Day! I refused the appointment for tomorrowThen I was asked if I was an OWNER or a TENANTI told them I was a Tenant with a Lease that stated I had permission to replace the flooringBecause my Landlord could not be present for the next appointment, Express Flooring would come out with a $FEENo where on their website does it state that a $fee is required if you are a TenantThis is DISCRIMINATION! I explained to the lady (***) on the phone that I would send a picture text to the Landlord of the samples that I was considering, and that they would make a decision right there and then of our color choiceI am paying for the installation, not the LandlordThis was not acceptable to Express FlooringHad they followed through with their appointment for today, the Landlord would have been present since we scheduled this togetherI will never recommend Express Flooring to anyone, nor will I ever utilize themI will take my money to their competitorsI am actually thankful that this happened, and I then looked at the Revdex.com rating for Express FlooringI had no idea that this company is not Revdex.com accredited! Their ads are a joke and they look for anyway to take money from hardworking individuals! I work for a construction group in the valley and would never contemplate charging a FEE for repairsAren't we, as consumers, able to obtain proposals from multiple companies in order to make the best decision that meets our needs?
We are very sorry that this customer is still unhappy As we have stated, we enter into every relationship with every customer with nothing but the best intentions and it is always unfortunate when these types of situations arise Please know that we again, and VERY sorry that this customer is anything less than 100% satisfied With this being said, we would like to respond to a few of the statements they have made in this most recent correspondence
Mr*** states we never showed up to check his floor The reality of the matter is we did If we hadn't, we wouldn't have said that we did We have attached a copy of the work order issued in regards to this visit As you can see it is date and time stamped and it never would have been printed if this appointment was not entered into our schedule Moving along, in relation to the product this customer purchased, we sincerely wish we could go back in time and change the product that this customer picked out As with any situation like this, had we known this customer was going to be so unhappy, we never would have sold them the product in the first place! But when a customer holds, touches, and feels a sample of a product in their hands and then tells us they want to buy it, are we really to be expected not to sell it to them? Is that a reasonable expectation of any company? This was not a "bait and switch" as this customer has claimed It is a simple case buyer's remorse, and nothing moreMr*** states that he wanted wood floors or ceramic Not to come off as unsympathetic, but if that is what he wanted, why didn't he just purchase a wood or ceramic floor? Why did he go ahead and purchase something completely different?
We understand that replacing flooring in your home is not a cheap endeavor This customer paid $5,which is a lot of money to anyone But the cost of a product doesn't change a buyer's responsibilities Everyone has been in the situation in which they purchased something that they are less than satisfied with It's easier to swallow when that item only costs a couple of dollars as opposed to $5, We completely understand this customer's frustrations But at the same time, it is not fair or reasonable for this customer to expect us to simply give him back $5,when we have supplied and installed $5,worth of flooring and customized it to his home We don't sell items such as TV's that we can put back into a box and sell to someone else Flooring just does not work that way
We are a good company with nothing but the best intentions As Mr*** states in his letter, he personally knows "dozens of people" with our flooring, all of whom are very happy As we stated in our last correspondence regarding this matter, if Mr*** would like, we will happily repair the damages he has caused to his new flooring and we will do this free of charge on a one time basis If Mr*** wishes to replace his new flooring with a different product, we can arrange for a partial credit on the materials he has purchased and put that towards a new order Mr*** would need to be responsible for the labor costs and any additional material costs involved, which will naturally depend on the product(s) he chooses
We feel we are being more than fair and reasonable with this customer We want nothing more than to resolve this complaint in a quick and timely manner and we sincerely hope this customer will cooperate with us to accomplish just that If Mr*** wishes to move forward with either offer we have made, we ask that he please contact *** *** in our office at ###-###-#### *** *** during business hours

day trying to supply our customers with a stress-free and enjoyable experience With this being said, we, just like any company out there, are not perfect From time to time mistakes get made and in those cases, we do what is necessary to correct the situation This matter however, has nothing to do with Express Home Services, LLC or any of its employees This complaint stems from a consumer who wants to take back a decision they made We read through their complaint and frankly, the facts here do not support anything this customer has stated in their letter to the Revdex.com on this matter Attached you will find the order placed by Mrs*** This document is a legal and binding contract for the purchase of almost $13,of custom flooring As you can see on this document there are clearly specific product selections for different areas of Mrs.***'s home There are clearly two separate & SPECIFIC installation dates The products Mrs*** purchased were on clearance and there is even a statement that reads, "ALL SALES ARE FINAL"Why would this customer place this order, sign the attached contract with all this detailed and specific information on it, if things were as she described in this complaint? The reality of the situation is consumers will, from time to time, place an order of this nature and then have second thoughts Frankly, its human nature and any business deals with this type of situation in some way, shape, or form And when this type of situationoccurs, that consumer feels they need to somehow "get out" of the decision they made They do not think about how this will affect the company they placed their order with, and even if they did think about that, most people simply don't care The fact is, when a customer places an order with us and supplies us with a deposit, we have the legal obligation to fill that order We in turn spend thousands of dollars in materials, man hours, and time in processing and preparing that order for installation Many customers think that if something is not installed that it doesn't cost us anythingNothing could be farther from the truth This particular order was placed on 6/5/ The installation was set to begin on 6/30/ We called Mrs*** on 6/28/and left her a message confirming the installation dateWe did not receive a return call from her On 6/30/we dispatched our installation team to begin work When they arrived to Mrs***'s home, no one was there We again attempted to call Mrs*** who did answer the phone at that point She stated to us that she was not ready for her installation and she explained that she was in the hospital with her husband Mrs*** indicated she would contact us when she was ready for her installation We accepted that under the circumstances and filed her order awaiting her call At no point during this call did she ever state that she did not place the order Three months went by and we received no contact from Mrs*** On 9/29/14, Mrs*** sent us an electronic message via our website that basically said she never signed a contract and she wanted her $deposit back Needless to say, we were puzzled and we immediately contacted our customer Mr*** answered this call and stated that he would have Mrs*** call us back, which she did the following day Mrs*** was very aggressive with our staff We did our best to handle the matter and we asked that Mrs*** send us a letter documenting her desire to cancel the order and we also explained to her that she should state in that letter that she was disputing the restocking fee.Once we received this, management would discuss it and we would get back to her on what we could do Mrs*** refused to do this saying that if she sent in a letter to cancel, that she felt she was acknowledging that she placed an order We tried to explain that we did have a signed order and we were just trying to follow our procedures, and this is when Mrs*** stated that she was going to file a complaint with the Revdex.com if we didn't give her back her the deposit she supplied us At this point it was obvious we were dealing with an out of the ordinary situation and the matter was passed on to management The following morning, we reviewed the situation and decided to simply cancel this order out and refund Mrs*** her deposit We called her to deliver this news and left a message with an individual we assume was her possibly her child We received no return call The following day we called her again and left her a voice mail asking her to call us back Again, we received no return call The day after that a check was mailed to Mrs*** for $which totaled the deposit she placed on this order Two days after that is when we received this complaint.It is regretful that many consumers use organizations such as the Revdex.com to gain something at a company such as ourselves expense While we understand the mindset, we find it hard to swallow that our company's name and the reputation of our staff gets dragged through the mud because a customer has a case of buyer's remorse Our heart goes out to Mrs*** and her family a
Express Flooring is a reputable and professional company whose utmost goals are always customer satisfaction We pride ourselves on our workmanship and our warranties and we are very sorry to have received this complaint As Mrs*** states in her complaint, she and her family did
have a warranty issues prior to this matter As she will attest to, we stood behind our work, recognized the issue at hand, and took the necessary steps to correct In that case, this involved replacing the carpeting we previously installed for them Mr& Mrs*** did decide to upgrade the carpeting during this process, and we were cooperative with them in accomplishing that If nothing else, this fact shows that we are here to stand behind our promises and warranties when the issue is legitimate and within the guidelines of the warranties a customer purchases A year later, Mr& Mrs*** contacted us regarding a new issue This issue was of a completely different nature The new carpeting we installed for them sustained some significant damage It was clear that this damage was locally caused and had nothing to do with the installation of the carpeting nor did it have to do with the manufacturing of the product either Mr& Mrs*** disagreed with this assessment and in order to get an unbiased opinion, we had a third party review the carpeting This company is a licensed and certified expert in this industry and their inspection showed that not only were the damages locally caused, but in their own words, the damages were caused by "excessive physical force"
As any reasonable person would understand, products like carpeting do carry warranties, but those warranties are not going to cover wear and tear, or damages of this nature Mr& Mrs*** seem to be under the impression that they can do anything to their carpeting and that we will simply just come in and replace it We are very sorry if were under that impression, but our warranties are clearly laid out on the contract Mr& Mrs*** signed when they made this purchase, and damages of this nature simply are not included
From a customer service standpoint, we are happy to repair the damage by using a remnant that they have left over from the installation to patch this area We are happy to perform this repair at no charge to our customer if it will help in resolving this complaint But we simply cannot just replace their carpeting for them or return any monies to them considering the facts at hand We sincerely hope that they will accept our offer so as to give this matter some closure
Please be advised that Mr***'s refund has been processed and a check is on its way to him via the postal service We understand that things did not happen as quickly as our customer would have liked, and we ask that you please understand that things did transpire here as quickly as we
would have liked either As with any business, at certain times of the year business picks up Other times things are a little slower than normal It's very rare that any business has it's workload evenly distributed throughout any day, week, month, or year When things get busy, its only natural that things take a little longer to do than normal When times are a little slower, than naturally processes such as this happen more quickly We are not making any excuses here and again we are very sorry this customer is frustrated We have no interest in any monies we are not due nor any monies we did not earn With this being said, we do outline a time frame on our contracts with our customers in relation to refunds of this nature and we we feel it is prudent to point out that this refund was processed well within that policy Thank you for your time and please feel free to contact us if we can be of any further assistance
Express Flooring is a reputable and professional company whose utmost goal is always customer satisfaction. Please understand that there was no error in our office filing a standard and common preliminary notice of lien. Ms*** placed an order with out company and one of her
payments was returned by her financial institution. The state of Arizona grants a contractor the right to protect themselves and by filling this notice and there is nothing unethical or wrong about doing so. Since, Ms*** has made good on that payment and her account is paid in full. The preliminary notice is just that, a preliminary notice. It will not effect her credit or any other aspect of her life in any way. We can understand that your average consumer is not familiar with these types of documents, so we can understand why she would be alarmed. But we can verify again that her account is currently paid in full and we will be taking no further actions regarding the notice she received

In order for me to have Express Flooring come out and give me an estimate, they need to know my marital status and if both parties will be home at the appointment Why does it matter my marital status? They also will not come out and provide me with an estimate without me making a decision right on the spot Otherwise they will charge me a $feeI'm sorry but this is a lot of money that is being spent and most people will need time to absorb and think about it I will be taking my business elsewhere and I will also tell all my friends the same thing This company sounds vary shaddy
set up appointment, per TV & newspaper ad, to get an estimate for install laminate in roomsAsked for measurement of rooms desired and display of samples with prices for complete installationSalesman & his trainee looked at the rooms but took no measurementsImmediately advised that laminate was not good in AZ due to excessive heat causing future problemsTried to get me to name an acceptable price range rather than him giving me an estimateFinally brought in some samples of a different productWhile he never gave any estimate, other than general price range, he asked me to commit to this product by offering a number of cash incentives (per their advertising), without ever giving me an estimateEven asked me to give him an amount that would be acceptableAlso stated that the product offered by his was "in stock" today, but if I did not buy today, it might not be available tomorrowHe spent about & 1/hours using what I consider high pressure sales tactics, & never giving anything that I asked for when setting up the meeting

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved

The communication on your part was not good, I called several times and the response that I got was that the check was mailed to meThen I would wait a week and would not received no check and I would call back and they would tell me the same answerIf they would of told me from the start that I had to wait for days or days for the check to be mailed to me I would of understand but its been more than a month and I still don't have a checkI am would of preferred for your company to have take action on another way but it got really frustrating for me so I had to take the step of the Revdex.com to get a good response and action on this matter
