Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by our customer. We have reviewed this matter and would like to present the following. Our customer acknowledged and agreed to the following agreements upon conducting business with...

GoDaddy:• Universal Terms of Service Agreement• Domain Name Registration Agreement• Domain Name Proxy AgreementThe latest version of these agreements can be found at: https://www.godaddy.com/legal-agreements.aspxGo Daddy offers private registration services for select domain names via an affiliate company, Domains by Proxy. This is an add-on service which customers may manage; including the cancellation of the service, from within their respective Domains by Proxy account. Account management is a customer responsibility. On September 22, 2015 our customer contacted our Customer Care team for assistance with transferring the specified domain name registration from GoDaddy to another registrar.  As our customer had added private registration services to their domain name, they were properly informed of the steps to transfer the domain name, which included the cancellation of the privacy service. After our customer had canceled the private registration services on their domain name, they modified the Registrant contact information associated with the domain name.  A 60-day lock (“Transfer Prohibition Period”) was expressly acknowledged by our customer on the domain when the Registrant’s contact information was updated.  GoDaddy takes the security of our customers’ accounts and domain names very seriously. As most domain hijackings occur shortly after a change of registrant is performed on a domain name, GoDaddy’s Change of Registrant Agreement was implemented to help protect our customer from such thefts.RESOLUTION:GoDaddy has upheld its agreements in good faith with the complainant and honored its terms of service. On September 22, 2015 our customer has since reached out to our Domain Services team and the lock on the domain name was removed.  Our customer was able to successfully complete their transfer to another registrar.  Education:Our customer may find the following support articles helpful:Transferring Domain Names to Another Registrar -https://www.godaddy.com/help/transferring-domain-names-to-another-registrar-356... and Website Builder bundle for a one year term via online transaction.  On December 27, 2016, and January 6, 2017, per our customer's account preferences, GoDaddy attempted to automatically renew the Website Builder and Office 365 email in good faith effort to honor its agreements with our customer however, our customer's financial institution declined payment(s).  GoDaddy proactively sent multiple notices pre- and post-expiration to our customer via email. On December 28, 2016, the domain in question automatically renewed for a one year term per our customer’s account preferences. The Website Builder and email plan were automatically renewed, each for another 10year term per our customer’s account preferences on January 16, 2017.RESOLUTION:GoDaddy upheld its agreements with our customer in good faith and honored its terms of service.Per GoDaddy’s refund policy, the products in question are still eligible for refund.  Our customer can contact our Billing team for assistance in cancelling and refunding these products. Our customer may find the following articles helpful:Cancel Products in my GoDaddy account –https://www.godaddy.com/help/cancel-products-in-my-godaddy-account-7468GoDadd... I was the one who bought it.... duh.... read my complaint. You had it listed in auction... I was outbid by SOMEONE that bought it for 20 bucks. Two days later we called you guys and bought THAT EXACT DOMAIN THAT SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE for $120.00!!!!!  Sold to someone else.... THAT WAS ME!  Tell me how someone won it via auctions for 2 dollars more than I bid and then I bought it two days later. Are you kidding me with the response.  FYI TO ANYONE READING THIS. GODADDY WILL ALSO BLOCK YOU FROM LEAVING NEGATIVE FEEDBACK ON THEIR SOCIAL PAGES BECAUSE THE COMPLAINTS MUST BE STAGGERING!

Thank you for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer. We would like to present the following:Our customer acknowledged and agreed to GoDaddy's agreements upon conducting business with GoDaddy. The latest version of these agreements can be found at:...

https://www.godaddy.com/legal-agreements.aspx Our customer had enabled Two-Factor Authentication to a GoDaddy account. Two-Factor Authentication is an extra layer of security GoDaddy customers may add to an account. Once enabled, a code sent via text must be entered in conjunction with login credentials to access the associated account.  The process to disable this service depends upon whether the customer can receive the security verification code. Instructions to disable this service are provided in our support article at https://www.godaddy.com/help/turn-off-two-factor-authentication-7628RESOLUTION:G... upheld its agreements with our customer in good faith and honored its terms of service. Our customer submitted the necessary information to our Domain Services team and the Two-Step Authentication has been disabled from the associated account.   Thank you again for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer.Kindest regards,Gary H[redacted]Office of the CEO - GoDaddy

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant
Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We have reviewed our customer's correspondence and the GoDaddy account in question to which we would like to present the following.
Prior to the purchase of products and services our customer acknowledged the...

following agreements:
• Universal Terms of Service Agreement• Website Builder Service Agreement• Online Store/Quick Shopping Cart Agreement• Domain Name Registration Agreement• Hosting Agreement
The latest version of these agreements and other legal agreements may be found at: [redacted]
We appreciate our customer’s candid feedback about our service levels and will ensure their concerns are fully reviewed by our customer care managers in an effort to identify any improvement opportunities that may exist. GoDaddy strives to offer the best service levels in the industry.
On December 30, 2014, our customer contacted GoDaddy support staff because certain elements of their website were not displaying as desired. Though our customer is using GoDaddy tools to build their website, the specific content in question was developed by our customer using custom code. While our programs allow for the inclusion of custom coding, it is our customer’s responsibility to ensure their code works within the framework of our programs. GoDaddy does not provide technical support for custom coding.
Resolution:
GoDaddy has upheld its agreements in good faith with our customer and honored its terms of service.
One of the refunds our customer is seeking is for a product associated with a promotional offer. Specifically, their purchase of our Website Builder product included a free domain name for the same term, provided that they maintained the Website Builder service through the initial term.
With our customer's decision to cancel Website Builder, coupled with their choice to keep the domain, we are unable to absorb the cost of the domain. As such, we will not be providing a refund in this instance. We have issued a $12 refund for their purchase of 1 year of Managed Wordpress Hosting.

Dear Dispute Resolution Consultant,Thank you for the opportunity to address and bring clarity to the
additional concerns presented by our customer. We have reviewed this matter and
would like to present the following. We stand by our previous
response. The domain should have never moved to an auction status allowing for
bidding by customers. When the issue was corrected we provided a full refund
and offered our customer a free two year domain registration. At this time, we
consider this matter resolved.Thank you again for the
opportunity to address and bring clarity to the concerns presented by the
customer.Kindest regards,[redacted] Office of the CEO – GoDaddy[redacted] Scottsdale, AZ 85260

Thank you for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer; who acknowledged and agreed to the following upon conducting business with GoDaddy:• Universal Terms of Service Agreement• Domain Name Registration Agreement• Domain Name Proxy AgreementThese agreements can be found at:...

https://www.godaddy.com/legal-agreements.aspxOn January 9, 2009, our customer purchased a domain name transfer for a five-year term via online transaction. On January 22, 2015; the customer renewed the domain for one year and opted to add GoDaddy’s Protected Registration service, the highest level of protection for a domain name that GoDaddy offers. This premium, add-on service provides private registration and protects against the cancellation, expiration, or transfer of a domain name. Domain names, which have this service, cannot be cancelled or transferred until the Protected Registration is canceled. On January 24, 2015; per our customer's account preferences, GoDaddy was instructed to automatically renew the domain name in question for a 5-year term (period equivalent to the length of the original domain name registration) and did so in a good faith effort to honor its agreements with our customer.RESOLUTION:GoDaddy has upheld its agreements in good faith with our customer and honored its terms of service. The service our customer purchased has functioned as advertised.  Our customer submitted the necessary documents and the Protected Registration service was canceled and subsequently refunded on January 26, 2016. As a one-time exception and gesture of goodwill to amicably resolve this matter, GoDaddy has refunded four years registration in the amount of $49.68 to the original payment method.Thank you again for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer.Kindest regards,Ken C[redacted]Office of the CEO – GoDaddy

Thank you for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by the complainant. The complainant is not a GoDaddy customer, nor has GoDaddy entered into any relationship or agreements with the complainant. On July 20, 2016, the complainant contacted GoDaddy regarding email notices they were...

receiving for a domain name they do not own. During this interaction, the complainant acknowledged the domain registrant as someone they know. The complainant’s email address was listed as the contact email for the domain when it was originally registered.  RESOLUTION:The complainant indicated that they would not be able to contact the domain registrant to have their email address removed as the contact address. Per GoDaddy's Domain Name Registration Agreement which all customers that register domain names with GoDaddy must acknowledge, domain name contact information must be kept in a current and accurate status.GoDaddy takes its commitment to consumer protection very seriously and the appropriate teams are working to resolve the complainant’s concerns. Specifically, GoDaddy’s Domain Services team has reached out to the registrant and requested they update the information present on the WHOIS directory. If the registrant fails to do so, GoDaddy will take further action. We thank the complainant for their patience while we work to resolve this matter for them. Until the registrant updates the contact email address or the domain is suspended, it is possible the complainant may receive some additional email notifications regarding the domain.Thank you again for the opportunity to address the concerns presented by our customer.Kindest regards,Stephen J[redacted]Office of the CEO - GoDaddy

Godaddy gave no time for verification. The 1st email received on May 12th 2017  is attached in 2 parts. They never tried to contact me to verify the information before canceling my purchases. The company took it upon themselves to deem the purchases fraud and closed the accounts without prior contact to me the customer/newly registered owner of the domains and products. If they can dispute the fact that they never tried to contact me prior to closing the account. Which could have easily been done by either emailing or calling me directly. Please provide the proof/attempts that contact me about the issue.

Thank you for the opportunity to address our customer’s additional concerns.   From time to time a company must make the difficult decision to cease (End-of-Life or EOL) providing a particular product or service.  This is the case with our Premium DNS product allowing customers to edit SOA records. Technology is ever changing and while we understand this process may be frustrating, we have provided options to help our customer decide their individual business' next steps.   We appreciate our customer's candid feedback about our service levels and will ensure their concerns are fully reviewed by our customer care managers in an effort to identify improvement opportunities. GoDaddy strives to offer the best service levels in the industry.   Thank you again for the opportunity to address the additional concerns presented by our customer. This business has done nothing in an attempt to satisfy my complaints, they are merely stating policy which I feel is absurd, "which at that time was out of our refund policy"  I attempted in "good faith" to address this with them before I ever initiated the chargeback they mentioned.  The left me no choice but to initiate a chargeback, and I told them that it was my next step.  I was flatly refused any recompense by two different people at their company, one of which was supposedly a supervisor.  The main crux of my concern is that they were contacted ONE DAY "outside their auto-renewal policy."  They have stolen my money and I will never use or recommend their services again.  It angers me that they attempt to obfuscate things by claiming convenience, when auto-renewal is merely a ploy to aid in retention of accounts.  Auto-renewals are illegal in my state.
