Revdex.com Case#: *** Dear Revdex.com: Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns. American Medical Response (AMR) values our customers, and strives to provide quality service AMR contacted the consumer by phone and discussed her concerns. Unfortunately, due to AMR being a non-participating provider with the consumer’s insurance carrier, the claim was paid based on non-contractual benefits, and the consumer is responsible for any unpaid balance. We understand medical expenses are unexpected and can cause hardship, and will mail a Compassionate Care application to the consumer for assistance on the balance due. Once the application is received and processed, a letter will be mailed to the consumer with regards to the determination Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at (209- 236-8358. and partial payment was received. Unfortunately, if the insurance carrier is a non-participating provider, the consumer is responsible for any unpaid balance. We understand that emergency medical care is a costly and unexpected expense. At this time, the consumer has accepted a 30% discount off the balance due and the account has been satisfied. *** *** Credit has cancelled the consumer’s account from collections and confirmed no credit reporting has occurred Should the consumer have any further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at ###-###-#### Sincerely, *** *** Patient Advocate American Medical Response
Received a bill from American Medical Response 1, However, I was not transported by ambulance My son was the date of the claim is 3/21/ Trip # *** The problem is because the bill came in my name he cant submit it to his insurance company for payment We called AMR on June 21st and explained the situation and they then told us that they needed to discuss this and would follow up with us Yesterday 6-26-we received notice that they have turned me into collections for a bill that is not mine What upsets us most is that they said they were going to look into it and instead they turned me into collections today 6/27/we left messages but no one followed up with me finally this evening my wife was able to speak to someone who kept insisting that since they have my sons date of birth the bill isn't ours even though it is in my name My wife asked to speak to supervisor and got no one Was told that they would reach out to the collections agen
Balance billing, we are being charge for an out-of-network amount for an ambulance ride even though the hospital we went to is an in network providerOur insurance already paid their in-network shareAMR is charging us for the rest of the unpaid amountBut, according to assembly bill AMR must comply with the in-network amount paid to them because the hospital we were in is an in-network of our insurance companyOur bill is now being sent to collection agency
My son was transported by AMR in January They used old (2013) information in their system and sent the bill to the wrong address and processed the insurance claim through his previous insurance account The bill was sent to collections in June This was the first notice that we had of the bill Collections set up to take $ for months to settle the account, starting June 30,
I called the AMR billing office on July 10, to correct the billing address, insurance and to attempt to resolve the bill outside of collections I was able to correct the information but the account remained in collections Upon request, I received an invoice dated 7/11/showing charges of $and a $balance due I continued to pursue having the bill submitted to my son's current insurance provider, and finally received a denial from the insurance company dated 11/6/ Two weeks later, I received a new invoice from AMR showing a payment of $(collection
Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:The verbal agreement was never on a set amountI never received a copy of the payment installment arrangement or the broken arrangementThis is information and your company just has excuse after excuse of why you sent me to collectionsNot buying this
Sincerely,
*** ***

First, I commend the local service agents who came to treat me during a fall down some stairs They were great But, wow then the bill comes and before I even have a chance to send my insurance information to cover the $treat and release fee I start getting calls from their collection department The due date on the invoice was 8/and I received the invoice on 8/9, so the gracious day payment period is not even up and the collection calls start, that is bad customer service I recommend that AMR reviews their policies regarding when they have their collections/customer service department start calling about invoices that are not even due yet
This is the letter I sent to my city administrator focused on their contract with AMRHi,
In the past couple years, my family has needed ambulance services twice, both of which has been American Medical ResponseI am grateful for the availability and the work they did to take care of my family needsFrom a responsiveness and care perspective I have no complaintsBut after the service, when it came to their billing practices, I find them to be less than honest, helpful, or even truthfulThere are a few issues I have with AMRI am lucky enough to have insurance that provides coverage for ambulance care, and although AMR fought it both times to the extent of months of me spending hours on the phone with AMR and my insurance, my insurance is in network with AMRWhat I find hard to believe is the difference in cost for in network and out of networkI know insurance contracts discounts with medical providers, I see it every time I go to the doctor, but as the cityMy original bill with AMR was over $both times, but after insurance is was less than $I am aghast you would contact with a company that charges more than times the negotiated rate with an insurance providerI don't understand why the city would agree to let their citizens be robbed by a company like thisMy second challenge with AMR is their customer service and billing practicesEven though my insurance company (the largest insurance company in the US) has an in-network contract with AMR, AMR refuses to believe it and forces me to work with my insurance company to prove itThe first time this happened it took over months and hours of phone time to convince AMR of what AMR should have in their records alreadyI've just started the process with AMR and my insurance company a second time and it is already playing out like it did the first timeAll AMR is interested in is getting social security numbers so they can file negative credit reports to force you to pay money you don't oweAMR is nothing more than a money focused company that is willing to bend ethical boundaries to try and extract more from the consumer with no regard for the truthI hope in the future when the city reassess ambulance contracts, they focus more on making sure the company reflects the values of the city and its citizens instead and commit to providing ethical billing practices (over 4x for people without insurance?) and doesn't lead with the assumption that everyone is guilty and forces us to prove our innocence

RE: Ambulance Transport Revdex.com Case#: *** Dear RevDex.com: Thank you for taking the time to contact our office with the consumer’s concerns. American Medical Response values our customers, and strives to provide quality service American Medical Response initially filed a claim with the consumer’s primary insurance carrier. A payment was received and the balance of $was invoiced to the consumer. The consumer contacted our office and provided secondary insurance information; however, the insurance carrier was unable to identify the consumer with the information provided. On March 22, 2016, the secondary insurance carrier contacted our office requesting a claim and confirmed their claims mailing address. The claim was mailed to the carrier on March 30, 2016, but after no response was received the consumer was invoiced At this time, we have followed up with the secondary insurance carrier and advised of our previous claim submission. The insurance carrier requested a claim be faxed directly to their office. The insurance carrier confirmed the claim was successfully received on June 3, 2016, and the account has been placed on hold pending their response. Should the consumer have further questions or concerns, I may be contacted directly at ###-###-#### Sincerely, *** *** Patient Advocate American Medical Response
Was transported to hospital by ambulance miles away from where I was picked upThen I receive a bill for $I called every month asking for an itemized bill for what the charges were for, but never received anything in writingIn January I received a notice of collections so I called company againThis time they told me I needed to fill out a medical release formReceived the form, completed it and mailed it backI received the itemized bill and the ambulance personnel are claiming they performed vascular access to my vein for an IV and they also performed an EKG, but a witness to my pickup has PHOTOS of the Riverside Fire Department performing all medical procedures on meThe ONLY thing the ambulance staff did was drive me to the hospital and drop me off when a room was availableThis is FRAUD because they performed no such procedures they are trying to bill me forA copy of this has been sent to my local TV stations and my lawyer awaiting an outcome to this fr
The level of incompetence of the employees resulted in my account payment plan being canceled, and my account was being sent to collection I had a bad accident that resulted in thousands of dollars of medical bills despite my health insuranceI set up payment plans to manage these with my HSA accountI asked for clarification from the representatives I spoke with multiple times and asked for a supervisor in one of the first conversation to which I was told none were availableThis company also had my accident noted as automobile and it was not an auto accidentMy understanding was that my payment would be due by the 4th of each month and it took more than a month to get this set upI made payments 6/19, 7/5, 8/6, 9/10, and then called in on 10/to check on the account and considering paying off moreIt was my understanding that I was paying far in advance of the due date (first one being 7/4) and never once did a representative say anything about delinquent or late paymentsT

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and am willing to put this matter to restI remain disturbed that ambulance service providers can and do bill for services that the recipients of those services did not requestBut I have come to understand that such practices are quite legal -- and much though I would like to, I don't have the time or the patience to challenge these practices in court. Accordingly, I will contact AMR in the next few days to release my insurance information.
Sincerely,

Had a medical emergency( a broken hip) with an ambulance ride to the hospital by American Medical Response, 06/03/
Before calling 911, was told by my insurance Cothat the service was fully paid for by them with the co-pay waved when I was admitted, with no further expense that I was responsible for
Approximately two years after being paid by my insurance co., AMR comes out of the blue with a bill claiming that I owe them a $
I responded right away with a phone call to them and to my insurance co., they acknowledged at the time to my insurance cowith an excuse that they did not know I was not responsible for the co-pay(a lie), my insurance cogot back to me , said all was taken care of
Not so, AMR continued to bill me with the same bills, accusing me of not respondingThis continued,my insurance said to ignore them and is tired of the continued harassment,
No matter what was said and done by me and my insurance co , AMR continues to harass me with threatenin
I have been trying unsuccessfully to reach someone at AMR to set up a payment plan for my account
I have called the phone number on the bill (***) multiple timesOn April 2017, I got through to a representative who told me that I would get a call back in hours, but they called hours later while I was driving and could not answer the call; the message just told me to call the phone number on the bill that doesn't get through to anyoneI left another message on May 2017, was told I'd get a call back, and as of more than hours later no one has respondedThe remaining calls have all gone to a recording asking that I call back in to hours, and when I do wait to call, I get the same recording again
As a gesture of good faith, I made a partial payment of $prior to the due date since I couldn’t get through to anyone at AMRI still need to set up a payment plan so that this doesn't go to collections and disrupt my good credit
