international trip you have to pay for all the bags and as I stated I checked in 3 bags: the biggest one did not exceed 65 inches total and was under 22kg and the other two were the type you can feet on the bin above your head in the airplane cabin, each of those bags were under 18kg and I had to pay $285, $55 were in taxes. They did set that rule of charging for all the bags to be effective between December 8th and the 24th, and I traveled the 9th. I never received a warning about that rule, I did not have the choice to decide if I accepted those charges with anticipation and I feel that is a transgression as is using the need a traveler has to return home. Once you are in the process of checking in at the airport there is no much you can do. I found this policy totally arbitrary and abusive with the customer. I understand and accept that most airlines charge you fees for luggage but $150 for a third undersize and underweight bag is absolutely unfair. The responses customer service give are very kind but don't offer anything as an apology. I requested to be reimbursed at least what I paid for the third bag and the taxes which is $205, I would still be paying $80 for the first two bags. How come such a big company cannot meet this unsatisfied traveler half way??? And they think that with that attitude I would try them again? I am more than discouraged! This is the second time I traveled with AA and I have a very poor experience. The first time was in 2000 and it was a disaster too. It is so incredible that in 10 years they are still doing so poorly when it comes to customer service and courtesy with the travelers.

I am rejecting this response because: Since I didn't have the correct paperwork for China I at least wanted to go to Philadelphia (My connecting flight city) since this...
was supposed to be my vacation and I've never been there and they wouldn't give me that ticket either. They say it was because I was upset but I only got upset after they wouldn't at least let me go to Philadelphia. Yes, at that point I got upset that they were just taking my money and giving absolutely nothing in return for no good reason. There is no reason I shouldn't have been able to take the 1st part of my flight to Philadelphia.I'm hoping this process will resolve this but if not I guess I will have to dispute the transaction with the credit card issuer.

I am rejecting this response because: [redacted] is the agent who rejected my claim the first time; also his lack of help the first time around helping me when I requested a...
supervisor to speak to returning my calls and letting me know certain things about this claim was horrible this response is basically the same thing he has said in my resolution...I still havent recieved a personal response from a supervisor or american airlines since I emailed them on this issue before I put my statement in with Revdex.com.... I called and asked could I speak to a supervisor numerous times american airlines treat customers like crap and they put day or limitations thats unheard of so they can use that as an excuse to not do what theyre supposed to....when I sent my paperwork in no one stated that this paperwork needed to be in within a certain amount of time and thats what customer service is about....if im calling in with a claim I should let you know all the guidelines and the stipulations before we would move on with the process which you all did not do and used that as an excuse to say that was the reason why you all denied my claim...american airlines also have tons of complaints from customers who signed up for there advantage club who also gets poor customer service all the time....In the resolution letters you have sent states that the documentation I sent in dont meet your criteria and couldnt be verified, when you said certain things about the documentation needed to be resent I tried and told you thats the only documentation we had....I called both stores myself and could verify so I cant understand how you all couldnt and on these documentations what all are you all looking for it clearly showes the store it was purchased from the item the amount the date the store clerk transaction number I dont see what more is needed to be seen; this is just another way for american airlines to let there employees get away with my items that was stolen out of my luggage and there employees to have terrible customer service...

I am rejecting this response because:it does nothing for me nor my husband. We spent an extra three thousand dollars on tickets because their crew argued with us for over an hour causing us to miss our flight. If they are not willing to reimburse I will follow up with my attorney who is ready to file a discriminatory suit based on the recorded language and actions of the employees.

Thank you for contacting me. It took me lots of trouble to finally get in contact with the director of AA customer service,...
and he helped me resolve the issue. The customer service agent was not helpful at all, but the director was very helpful. Thanks again!
