Do not expect warranty repairs to be completed in a timely fashion Twice our unit has been out of service for several days Most recently during the record heat in June, we were down five days! It is understood that they cannot carry every part, but it is incomprehensible they are dependent on a warehouse that is closed on weekends during the summer in Arizona!
When I asked about a hotel and was told it could not be authorized Apparently no one remembered the Comfort Guarantee about providing a hotel if repair was not done within 24hours!
Our part was available on Tuesday afternoon and our repair was not done until 1am Thursday morning That is NOT a typo, the tech showed up at midnight because we would not accept being put off any longer What kind of a company allows a technician to work in the heat, and how safe and reliable are repairs at that point?
Why was a call fro a manager not offered? There had been numerous calls made and questions asked Finally I asked to speak to someone who might care, and advised I wanted to give Alaskan the opportunity to make this right, that we wanted to be happy, repeat customers Three weeks later we received a check for $200, identified as a refund While a token, this is actually more of an insult for the expenses and misery incurred because they seemed not to want to take time for a warranty repair
We sincerely hope another warranty repair is not needed We do fear that because of the noise we made, we will really be pushed to the bottom of the pile should we need repairs again
This company proudly advertises they treat you like family I hope they don't

Earl was very professionalExplained how our system was runningDid not pressure you into buying anythingHave used Alaskan Air for years nowGood experience
Less than a year ago I had Alaksan come out to fix a problem I was having with my a/c.The tech came out and replaced a capacitor and charged me Now less than a year later I was having the same problem with my a/cJuan came out and simply press something and got the ac working but then started removing part from the unit and said three parts needed replacing.I asked for the parts and noticed that one of the parts was the one that I replaced less than a year ago.He went on to tell me that it wasn't the right part for my ac.After getting caught in a lie he said he would place the part back, and give me a dollar credit toward the bill. This same part costed me 312$ last time all of a sudden it was a lot cheaper now than the first time around. He then went on to say that I still needed to replace two parts.I went on to tell him that the ac worked fine before he started to remove parts. He assured me that that was the problem, and I still needed to replace the other part since it was
We purchased a new heat pump from Alaskan in June, We ordered a two stage system because it was advertised as having higher efficiency We noticed immediately that our electrical usage was higher and it was running longer than it was with the old heat pump Our bills increased $30-40/month immediately with the new unit during the cooling seasonWe informed the technicians about this every time they came for a spring or fall tune up They said it was due to the cost of electricity going up but we noticed an increase in KWHAlaskan technicians could not explain why we had such poor performance and never properly checked out the problem
We also told them numerous times that we did not think it was ever running on high speed They said it would only run on high speed if there was a large temperature difference or if it was running for a long time
We recently obtained a second opinion from a competitor as to why our heat pump was not performing satisfactorily The tech

On 9/29/I ordered a service in Home Depot, Tucson AZ – replacement of the air conditioning system in my house located in Sierra Vista, AZThe Home depot provides this kind of services through their contractor – Alaskan Tucson HVACThe contractor was supposed to send an estimator/inspector to the site, to inspect the existing system and deliver the estimate/proposal for the jobOn 10/1/the Alaskan’s estimator Brandon J*** sent me his estimateThe estimate was a complete nonsenseIt turned out, that MrJ*** never visited the site and even did not know the square footage of the house (which is necessary for determining the size of the AC unit)In his proposal, MrJ*** used wrong size and wrong type of the AC unitHe did not provide any name of the units and any specification of the unitsHe did not provided any information about other components of the jobFor the price of the service MrJ*** set some astronomical amounts, completely not connected to the manufacturer’s prices of the equipment and to the amount of labor involvedWhen I called MrJ*** and tried to correct the data of the equipment, his manager took over the conversation and started lying to me and brainwashing me, twisting the actual data of the systemI recognize the Alaskan Tucson HVAC as an extremely dishonest and manipulative company, ignoring their customers
I purchased new air-cond Jan Had year warrantyCame twice a year for maintenanceBought extended warranty in for $No one called or came out for yrsI finally called and got 1st service in Nov Tech Patrick Higgins said he would extend warranty for yrsWilliam(Div mgr) came out again 3-2-with a trainee and said unit had shifted and needed a crane to lift unit to fix at a cost of $I got a 2nd opinionThe other company told me it shifted because it was never attached to the roof at the time of installation and should be fixed at no cost by AlaskanI had them fix it for $because of lack of trust in Alaskan after their svc callI called and talked to a Ron at Alaskan who told me they would pay the $and cancel my warranty at the prorated amtI got a ck for $for the warranty ( the extra years was never added) but no money for the repair as agreed uponI also had to pay a roofer $for roof repair caused by the shiftingI contacted
This service tech told me that my A/C system coolant was lb low and that I had a coolant leak I was told that it would cost $for a dye test and $to recharge my system before the leak test could madeThis was the 2nd to last day on my service contractI was told the the cost for the dye would be waved if I signed a year contract for approximately $ (My system is years old and it was running great)I bought this system through Home Depot
I decided to get a second opinion from another company and the service tech found that the the coolant level was full and there was no leak He also found that service port caps on the compressor were loose
I am writing this in hope that it will prevent someone from being over charge for unnecessary repairs by this company and not be pressured to sign a year contract
We purchased a service warranty 2-years ago Ten days ago a tech came out and mentioned that there must be a "pinhole" leak; that we should be thinking about upgrading our system The next morning, since it was getting very hot, and the AC wasn't working, we checked the outdoor unit and found that the coupler had been unscrewed The was no refrigerantPretty suspiciousThis was a relatively old unit and we now had no choice but to replace it We spent 2-days in degrees with no ACWe made calls with our complaint, with no responseWe will never spend another dime with Alaskan
*** was very knowledgeable, helpful, timely and courteousThank you very much
On time and personable Seem to be competent
I am currently in Canada, but have a home in Glendale, AZ and my daughter was present while Alaskan Home Services completed their annual inspection and did a repair on my air conditioner They appeared at their appointed time Did their inspection and completed the repair promptly and courteously without additional charge They installed my air conditioner after the big hail storm in and during follow up visits have always conducted themselves in a courteous and professional manner I would recommend this company without hesitation
Where do I start? I went under contract with Alaskan in Spring In July they replaced a failing fan motor and charged me over $to replace a $part (two separate AC pros confirmed this price after the fact)BTW- the first replacement motor they installed failed immediately and they had to put in a second oneFor springtime preventative maintenance the tech never showed upThe replacement tech was incredibly rude, condescending, and judgmentalNearly threw him out of my house and have since always requested he not be the tech on any future jobs of mineOn 10/12/18, a tech came out to do the winter preventative maintenanceWhen he was done, I asked him to take a look at the same unit that Alaskan had replaced the aforementioned fan motor in the previous summer since it recently had been making a “bang” or “thud” sound whenever it turned on or offHe said the compressor was failing and that was the sound I was hearingNo diagnostics whatsoeverHe made this comment by listening to it onlyHe was positiveLater that day he sent me EIGHT quotes ranging from nearly $10,to more than $15,to replace not only that unit, but BOTH units (these prices were PER UNIT)I found it odd he did not do a full diagnostic, so I called another AC company for a second opinionThey came out on Octand said that there is absolutely nothing wrong with the compressorThat tech said there was a problem with the fan motor (the one Alaskan replaced the year prior) causing this banging/thudding soundIt was also leaking oilI then asked him what it would cost to replaceHe said it was a $job parts and labor (compared to the over $Alaskan charged me not including labor since I was under contract, so really a $1,200+ job) and then called Alaskan back that day, told them of the second opinion and that I was (putting it mildly) upset that their tech diagnosed, by ear, an issue and then tried to sell me, unnecessarily, $10K - $15K worth if equipment (actually double that amount if I wanted to replace both units)Shockingly, I was then told this particular tech was NOT qualified to diagnose anything and that they were sending out another tech the following day to do a proper diagnosisThe following day (Oct16), a second tech from Alaskan arrivesHe does real diagnostics, and confirms the same exact thing as the tech from the day prior from the other AC company that it is the fan motor that is failingAnd then he asked me something that blew my mind, “Are you sure we replaced this fan motor last year and that we didn’t work on the equipment in the attic instead? This motor does not look like it is only one year old.” Of course...it was THEIR replacement motor! I then get a call from a manager from Alaskan’s offices a couple days laterI go over unqualified techs telling me the wrong part is failing BY EAR and then trying to sell me completely new units and how this is not ethical and proper business practicesHe asks, “What can we do to make this right?” and takes all this to the owner of the company and will get back to meSeven days later (Oct26) and still nothing from this manager so I call himHe does not answer, and so I leave him a voicemailSeven days later (Nov2) rolls around and STILL nothing from this managerI call back again and have the woman who answered the phone hand deliver a written note to himNovrolls around and STILL no contact from this managerSo, I call back A THIRD TIME and this time ask for the ownerMiraculously the manager intercepts that callHe acts as if he doesn’t remember me, said he doesn’t recall my two messages, and I have to then re-hash the entire conversation and complaint from our original conversation on Octall over againHe gets very defensive then lays it at the owner’s feet as to why I never heard back from himI tell him we are now past reconciliation and I simply want out of my contract as I never plan on working with Alaskan againAfter the owner finally gets involved, I get a partial contract refundTheir customer service is a joke and they try to sell you thousands of dollars in unnecessarily equipmentStay away

James - my tech was an awesome dudeEveryone else has terrible communication my appointment was pushed multiple times with no communication and I was left to call and find out what was happening - Management is never available and appears to leave before a standard hour day has completedAVOID DOING BUSINESS!
No one from Alaskan has contacted us The best number to reach myself is by cell which they should have this information
We purchased our home years ago and the previous owners had a service agreement with Alaskan Home Services for the heating and cooling system that was transferred to us Alaskan has routinely come out when we have scheduled them for checking our system with great service personnel The last routine checkup was done in early April
This all changed last week Our system ceased cooling the house so we called Alaskan and they very quickly sent out a service technician He was at the house for minutes and never took a tool out and told us our outside condenser coil was full of holes and needed to be replaced for $2, Our son is a HVAC technician in Seattle so we asked him to talk with the Alaskan technician to have him explain what was wrong After explaining to our son his diagnosis and we explained he never took a tool out during his visit our son was very skeptical and suggested we get a second opinion We obtained a second opinion and this HVAC technician did an extensive evaluation and pressure tested the system and found one very small hole in a pipe leading to the coil that can be repaired without replacing the condenser coil This second opinion is saving us over $2,
In addition our son checked the model and serial number with the manufacturer and found that it is still under warranty and if it truly was the condenser coil the manufacturer would provide a replacement and we would only have to pay for labor and refrigerant
Be careful with Alaskan Home services and spend the money to get a second opinion before proceeding with expensive repairs Also be observant of their service technician to make sure they are truly taking the time to diagnose the problem and not just looking to sell expensive repairs I suspect that they were going to replace the condenser coil and charge us full costs and then get reimbursement from the manufacturer for the unneeded coil under our warranty
Used this company for years, they have serviced and replaced an old unit and now service the one they installed Kyle was very professional and a pleasure to deal with
