Alaskan Home Services Reviews (271)

The customer service alone that William Foffered me was horribleHe came into my home very aggressively, and was rude to meHe inspected my a/c then came in and told me “this is your fault” in a very rude and condescending manner“You should be changing your air filters every days, but since you didn’t you blew your motor, this is your fault”The website offered a $tune up which I knew was different than what William had to doHe shoved a book in my face with different prices for the part that I needed the bottom being the “band-aid” ***He said in a condescending tone again “are you going to make a decision or not because I don’t want to drive to get the part if you’re not going to want this done”I hastily said yesHe offered me financing, I was approved he left to get the motorDuring this time I was in a conversation with my realtor who referred me to Alaskan air and he told me to cancel everything (paying of course for the diagnostic) and that I needed a second opinionIt wasn’t more than minutes from when William Fleft my residence that I called the customer service line and spoke with a young lady and advised her I tried to catch William before he left but it was too lateShe told me she left a message for him and that he would call meA few minutes later he did call meI apologized for the inconvenience and told him I needed a second opinionWell, William became aggravated and yelled at me and said “YOU’RE PAYING ME $PLUS ONE HOUR OF LABOR!” I asked him what the $was for to which he replied “the diagnostic”I thought to myself shouldn’t the labor be included in the diagnostic? Well he charged me $$for the “diagnostic”, and $for the “labor”I also discovered while trying to speak with his boss that he was the “boss” which adds additional salt to the woundI am completely perturbed as to how I was treated as a paying customer and as a human beingYou don’t speak to your customers in the manner he spoke to meMy realtor may have referred me, but I will never refer this company to anyone just based off of my interactions with William FSide note, received a quote today from a different company that is quote $less than William Fquoted me

I have used Alaskan Home Services for many yearsEarl, the technician who helped me today was knowledgeable, courtesy and professional I look forward to having his help again in the future

we are mailing out a check for the $to her We just needed to see the invoice from the company she paid it to

We purchased a service warranty 2-years ago Ten days ago a tech came out and mentioned that there must be a "pinhole" leak; that we should be thinking about upgrading our system The next morning, since it was getting very hot, and the AC wasn't working, we checked the outdoor unit and found that the coupler had been unscrewed The was no refrigerantPretty suspiciousThis was a relatively old unit and we now had no choice but to replace it We spent 2-days in degrees with no ACWe made calls with our complaint, with no responseWe will never spend another dime with Alaskan

The service tech. got here on time, I was late, but he had call me to tell me he was here and I told him I was a few minutes from home so he waited. He cleaned the my A/C unit and advised me of the age of the unit, but also told me it was still in good shape, He didn't try to force me into buying a new unit, which a lot of companies would have tried to do. I purchased a contract with Alaskan Air several years ago, when I had them come out to replace the drive motor that had burned up.They call me twice a year to advise me when service is do and come out and service my a/c unit, which is why the unit is still in good working order.I have had several tech. from Alaskan air come service my a/c over the years and have no complaints with any of them. They all are professional and very good at their job.

Do not expect warranty repairs to be completed in a timely fashion Twice our unit has been out of service for several days Most recently during the record heat in June, we were down five days! It is understood that they cannot carry every part, but it is incomprehensible they are dependent on a warehouse that is closed on weekends during the summer in Arizona! When I asked about a hotel and was told it could not be authorized Apparently no one remembered the Comfort Guarantee about providing a hotel if repair was not done within 24hours! Our part was available on Tuesday afternoon and our repair was not done until 1am Thursday morning That is NOT a typo, the tech showed up at midnight because we would not accept being put off any longer What kind of a company allows a technician to work in the heat, and how safe and reliable are repairs at that point? Why was a call fro a manager not offered? There had been numerous calls made and questions asked Finally I asked to speak to someone who might care, and advised I wanted to give Alaskan the opportunity to make this right, that we wanted to be happy, repeat customers Three weeks later we received a check for $200, identified as a refund While a token, this is actually more of an insult for the expenses and misery incurred because they seemed not to want to take time for a warranty repair We sincerely hope another warranty repair is not needed We do fear that because of the noise we made, we will really be pushed to the bottom of the pile should we need repairs again This company proudly advertises they treat you like family I hope they don't

I hired these people to install a new air conditioner on my house and have regretted the decision ever since. After the install I had to call three times to find out when the duct sealing I had paid for would be done. When the city inspector came out he told me that Alaskan had to correct something with the water heater. After four business days I called them to set it up because someone forgot. I asked them for their survey after the project was complete and they told me that they couldn't do that. I contacted [redacted] *** repeatedly about this and got stonewalled there as well. Then yesterday they sent out a technician for my semi-annual "free" inspection and tune up. When the technician got done he told me that I needed a surge protector installed ($268) or a power outage could void my warranty! I would have thought the unit would already have a surge protector but apparently not. This company is poorly managed and apparently ethically challenged. I suspect that every time they send one of their technicians they will tell me about something else I need to install or risk my warranty. I would NOT recommend these people to anyone!

mark, I personally spoke to you today at 9:31am after we spoke melissa at our office emailed you a breakdown of the refund on your pma please call my cell at [redacted] if you have any more questions

RevDex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait... until for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved. Regards, [redacted] ***

Alaskan has changed as far as sending great guys out to do maintenance according to my contract Alaskan has never resolved my hot room issue, which is why I went with them in the first place because they said new duct work and an up duct would fix the problem It hasn't and the room is still degrees warmer than the rest of the house I have low windows and the room is under patio cover, too They just let the ball drop saying not their problem Their past maintenance men, previous to were rude and very pushy They sold me things I did not needI continue with Alaskan because I am in contract for years for parts
Patrick arrived per his phone call and did the required annual maintenance quickly He was very pleasant, friendly, and had a great smile I had nothing wrong with the air conditioner today
As far as the office help goes they are curt, unfriendly and don't listen Finally when they get it right they never apologize for the problem Customer's don't want to hear excuses, especially if you have been in their files for years!

On November 1st Alaskan Home Services sent a tech to do a seasonal check on our HVAC system after spending hours here he told me that my "Voltage Absorption Device" was going bad and needed to be replacedHe said if I did't do it that it would cause my compressor to failHe stated that the repair would cost almost $dollarsA little research shows that there is no such thing as a "Voltage Absorption Device" and that it is used in the HVAC industry to get people to pay for something that is not brokenAlaskan Home Services charged me $for the two units and as far as I can tell did nothing as he spent more time in his van than in our houseThis is clear attempt at fraud!

Had a/c unit go out and got a couple different quotesAlaskan was the best value for the priceThey come out twice a year for maintenance and I love the service they giveThey always take the time to explain everything and answer my questions; because of this I have bought the extended service plan with them

My a/c went out a few weeks ago and when I called Alaskan they were able to come out quickly and did not keep me waiting for very longThe technician called about 15-minutes before arriving to my house to give me that heads up, I thought this was very nice and professionalWhen he arrived he was very polite and courteous and got right to workHe found the problem quickly, explained to me what had happened and what caused itOverall, he was very knowledgeable and explained everything clearly to meI was extremely happy with the overall service and will continue using Alaskan for my a/c and heating needs

Earl was prompt, courteous and informativeHe also has years experience in this business and knows the system, unlike my prior technician who could not check my Sensi thermostat because it was above his paygrade He also said he could send someone else out for $and they could check the wiringI called Sensi and self corrected the problem within minutes, no charge! Earl explained the condenser was not operating in the recommended range and could cause future problems with my systemI was not happy with the $price because I have replaced a condenser before and the price is about $online but he said the price he quote was still $less because I had a contractI was impressed with Earl but not so happy with the cost
