Alaskan Air's representative, Scot, was on time, friendly and courteous, went right to workHe seemed to do a very good job in checking out our heating system and spent adequate time answering our all questions before he left We have used Alaskan Air before and they are always on time and make sure all is well before they leave I would recommend them to family, friends, and anyone who might ask me
The rep was very knowledgeable and helpful in explaining all my A/C optionsI will definitely consider doing business with this company
On 2/16/I received a phone offer for an AC tufrom Alaskan Home Services for $ I accepted the offer and secured an appointment for 2/20/ The service was rendered as detailed, except the technician was late regarding the appointment window Overall, I had no issue with the service Then days later on 2/22/I received another phone call from Alaskan Home Services "reaching out to past service plan members" offering a system tune up for $ I certainly appears as though Alaskan Home Services charges different prices with no rhyme or reason, depending on who they call and when the call is made This dovetails with other reviews relating to pricing of their products and services And, they obviously do not know what they are doing in that they call offering identical service to that performed only days previously I question their integrity and ethics as a company "Buyer beware!"
I had excellent service and the gentleman that came here to check my Air Conditioner could not have been more polite He told me what he was going to do and did not waste time doing nothing.I would highly recommend this company to all my friends with out a doubt

Tom was polite, efficient doing his job, checked out vents and was on his way after papers were signed Although he may have been here before, there was no wasted time and we appreciate that greatly However, he did arrive just as I was printing out the memo from Alaskan Home Services showing his photo Probably would have helped to have at least minutes before technician arrive

I've been a customer of Alaskan for many years now, ever since I bought my first house, and I will stick with themPlumbing, heating, and A/C service has always been top notch, and I felt the prices were within range for the work performedAll the employees I've met have been professional through and throughThey even remember things done at my previous homeI'm very pleased with Alaskan and recommend them

We purchased a new heat pump from Alaskan in June, We ordered a two stage system because it was advertised as having higher efficiency We noticed immediately that our electrical usage was higher and it was running longer than it was with the old heat pump Our bills increased $30-40/month immediately with the new unit during the cooling seasonWe informed the technicians about this every time they came for a spring or fall tune up They said it was due to the cost of electricity going up but we noticed an increase in KWHAlaskan technicians could not explain why we had such poor performance and never properly checked out the problem We also told them numerous times that we did not think it was ever running on high speed They said it would only run on high speed if there was a large temperature difference or if it was running for a long time We recently obtained a second opinion from a competitor as to why our heat pump was not performing satisfactorily The tech
Alaskan has changed as far as sending great guys out to do maintenance according to my contract Alaskan has never resolved my hot room issue, which is why I went with them in the first place because they said new duct work and an up duct would fix the problem It hasn't and the room is still degrees warmer than the rest of the house I have low windows and the room is under patio cover, too They just let the ball drop saying not their problem Their past maintenance men, previous to were rude and very pushy They sold me things I did not needI continue with Alaskan because I am in contract for years for parts Patrick arrived per his phone call and did the required annual maintenance quickly He was very pleasant, friendly, and had a great smile I had nothing wrong with the air conditioner today As far as the office help goes they are curt, unfriendly and don't listen Finally when they get it right they never apologize for the problem Customer's don't want to hear excuses, especially if you have been in their files for years!

Made the mistake of purchasing the extended warranty with the new unit, it's not worry freeAbout $for 7yrs of tune ups about =what ever that suppose to meanThey tell me now it's twice a yearI tell you make sure you call them, Because they will not call you, to do the annual serviceunless they want to sell you some more over priced not cover anything service agreement, they won't use the word warranty, very carful about thatEven though they try to sell you something, everytime they come with some over priced labor, you find out later, becarful If something breaks down You have to still pay for the Diagnostic fee $and parts are free sounds good right! Well they jack up the labor, so you pay for everything and more because you have to pay the over priced labor of install, mine was $for my blower motorThey also have the nerve to attempt selling even more useless warranty at the time of breakdown which I think could drive the price up somewhere in the $rangeFor the blower motorThey have this laminated sheet starts out with what they call band aid just to intimate you, and it goes up from there, bronze, silver, gold, platinum and I think one moreVIP? My "Band-Aid" was about $Which is only laborTakes Less than an hour to install! BY an unexperienced person I purchased the blower motor myself from parts house through [redacted] , great place very helpful for $a savings of $dollars and installed it myself in less than a hourDo the math I don't do this everyday but for me that's about $an hour I would get for the install, as a contractor I know they can get the motor a lot cheaper than I canAnd install it twice as fast What a waste of money, never felt so bad about getting so ripped off! I have a real bad back and I am getting older, thinking just get the "service agreement " no worries, The only agreement I made was to get ripped off I never want to use them again in my lifetimeTelling you Don't buy their Reem unit either, sitting out side sounds like a broken bass drum every time it shuts off, the service guy tells me, that's normalNeed to tell that to my company when they fall out of the lawn chair every time it shuts off.(By the way did I mention it's only 4yrs old)I purchased a year $??? It's not a extended warranty like I thought they made it sound like I am so done with Alaskan they can do the tune ups, next or but I am watching them to see what I am getting for my money, if I need it serviced I am calling someone else, Their service technicians are very professional, friendly and nice, also clean, I did not have a problem with them, except they are programed to sell useless warranty, service agreements?? We are under a year contract for service of our heat pump and the company services the unit twice a yearThe technicians are always courteous and efficient In the most recent service call my attention was drawn to additional work that was beyond the service call criteria The work was performed efficiently and will improve the unit performanceI would recommend you consider the company in any hvac work that you might have
