I have been a loyal customer of ADT since All payments were automatic draft from my bank accountTherefore, I was never late and never missed a paymentEarlier this year I updated my contract to get a lower rateSince, my equipment was already updated the year before, there was no changes with my services or equipment, no technician was sent to my houseThe only thing that was changed was my rateMarch of this year "2016" I accepted a promotion outside of *** *** and needed to relocate to *** *** Because of this, I contacted ADT to inform them that I needed to cancel my servicesSince, I was relocating outside of *** ***, this services was no longer neededADT informed me they need days' notice to cancel their services and because I signed a contract I have to now pay $in cancellation fees I thought this was ridicules, since nothing was
Not happy with ADT We have had problems with our system from the beginning of our contract years in we had a tech come out and they said they had to put something on the wall and it was not a guarantee it would workThey won't let us out of the contractI want out because it's not functioning properlyIn order to fix it we have to pay more And the only thing the lady on the phone kept saying "it's legally biding" so I am legally obligated to pay for something that does not function properlyGot it
In February of 2014, an ADT Salesman came to my door and talked with me about installing their security systemHe stated it was very important and gave me the usual spiel about high crime and the need for ADTI had only purchased the home month before and wasn't even moved inI agreed and he set up the installationHe told me as we finished that the contract was for years, which I was not too thrilled about, but I agreedHe also stated he would mail my contracts to meSo in January of I called to cancel this service and was told that my contract was a THREE year contract and also doesn't run out until March I know the original contract was signed in early February because I was still having flooring installed and had no furniture in the room where we sat and talked about this serviceThey not only never sent me contracts but they changed the dates on the forms and extended it a year without my permisson or knowledgeI want this service cancelledI am on Social S
A very bad company and I'm sure they know it In this age where reviews are transparent, they have disabled Google and Facebook review for a good reason instead of fixing the service
I have been with them for over years and every time I called for any help the answer was to send a tech and charge for it I was able to Google some of my answers and program things my self with simple clicks that saved me
The service is so bad that I asked for a manager and they would hang up the phone Call again and they put me on hold and hang up again
I knew they were this bad but didn't think that bad
There are so many other companies out there that give the same service for much less with more respect to their clients
ADT required me to update equipment Although they do not advertise it they lost a law suit for having un-encrypted and un-verifiable cellular signals form wireless ADT security systemsIt led to a system upgrade requirement that they attribute to us having a 2G wireless unit and their system now operating on a 4G or LTE system When they sent me notification it was required that we update the hardware The upgrade was supposedly free of charge However, the contract that we ended up signing was contrary to what we were told on the phone The contract locked us into a year contract I feel that this was deceptive and not true to what we were told on the phone I paid an early termination fee to cancel this contract It took three separate phone calls just to cancel ADT security monitoring for my rental property A royal waste of time and it cost the remainder of the contract just to cancelThe upgrade was required by ADT, yet the cost was passed on to me and I had to pay t

WOW, What a nightmare this has been so far just trying to get an alarm system installed at my residenceInitial call...Scheduled installation of equipment and start of services, cancelled within a week after further discussion with the spouse in regards to the need for a systemCalled by ADT shortly after cancellation offering equipment credit in order to change our mindsWe decided that with the equipment credit incentives that it wasn't such a bad idea after all and scheduled again to have the system installedWaited well past the scheduled install date and received no word from ADT or the dealer in regards to the installationReceived a letter in the mail referencing status of our system "Your ADT security system is installed but monitoring is inactive"No system has ever been installed and no other contact was initiated by the dealer or ADT so I called the number listed on the letter to find out what was going on, why our system had never been installed, and why we were getting a notice saying it was installed but no monitoring was activeI spent over minutes going back and forth with the dealer I was put in touch with regarding the account and installation to then find out that the installation had been cancelled (on ADT's end via the dealer or ADT) and that they (the dealer I was currently talking to) could not install one because corporate tied the account to the previous dealer and even though they had cancelled it out I would have to wait days before the other dealer could do anything with itI then asked to be placed in touch with corporate so I could initiate a complaint, have them fix the issue and get the correct system and dealer to take care of getting a system installedI had the "pleasure" of talking to *** who was about as helpful as a bump on a log and who proceeded to ask me rhetorical questions about why the dealer had transferred me to herI got irritated enough to hang up with her and call corporate myself instead of continuing to be jockeyed aroundHour and a half of my day thus far spent dealing with trying to fix the issue to no avail, Finally got in touch with *** at Corporate who then proceeded to tell me that he would reach out to the dealer and have them contact me...Now wait a minute, I called corporate to have them (as the overall in charge of this entire fiasco) handle and fix the issueAbsolute worst run around I have ever received when dealing with ANY company in the last years to conduct business with themI would not at this time, recommend ADT or any of it's affiliates/dealers for any purpose, Barring some miracle or someone such as *** ***, ADT VP of Customer Care addressing, fixing this issue, and ensuring it is handled in a professional, timely manner, I will likely choose to stick with *** and Wesson or Springfield Armory for my security needs
Just like everyone said ..DONT USE THIS SERVICE IT A SCAMTHE CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE RUDE *** WHEN YOU ARE TRYING TO GET THINGS FIXBUT WATCH OUT!!! THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY
ADT security monitoring had issues with the service; and was not working at my residential address for months (November through September 2015), and yet ADT kept collecting bill payments every month, until I realized the problemWhen complained the issue with ADT help desk representative, after initial denials agreed to test the connection; and once she realized that it was not working, she agreed to send a technician to investigate
When the technician arrived a week later, he found that the service pinged with ADT servers successfully was way back in November of The technician recommended to upgrade the service to ?cell guard? in order to fix the issue as well as to avoid such problems in the futureFinally around October 15, 2015, my ADT service was restored

The company is not an easy company to work with on technical issues, billing or contracts They will NOT work with you if you are under contract and threaten legal issues

Terrible company! Horrible customer service! Back in April of I called to get a home security system installed in my home which I was moving into in June of I explained to the sales rep the layout of my house and how many windows and doors would require a sensor to get the best protection for my homeHe advised me that he would be happy to put in the order, and I picked an install dateOn June 11th the installation tech came to my house without all the equipment agreed on in AprilWhen I asked him about it he advised me that the sales rep had put in an order for a system upgrade and used the info from the existing system which was owned by the previous owners, and did not put in the order as a new customerI was rather surprised by this and said that I would follow up with the sales repThe sales rep, *** called me that same day and apologized for HIS error and proceed to tell me that if I wanted the equipment originally agreed upon with my year commitment then I would need to pay an additional $
On June 15th, four days after the install of the equipment I called to cancel and have the equipment removedAs I was within my day buyers remorse period this should not have been a problemI spoke to someone who confirmed that the order for the cancellation was put through and I would receive a call within hours from the installations department to schedule a date for the tech to come in and remove the equipment
On June 17th, days after the cancellation I called back and spoke to *** who advised me that the cancellation order had not been "approved" but that it would be cancelled as requestedI requested to speak to a supervisor who further confirmed that the cancellation request had been ordered, and then he put me through to installations to set a date to have the equipment removed
On June 23rd, I had a tech come in and remove the equipment, and on the same day I received a bill for months of invoicing!!! When I called the billing department they advised me that an order for a cancellation had NOT been put through! calls and an abundance of time wasted, and not one person had done their job but promised me on several occasions that they had!
On June 24th, I spoke to someone in cancellations who confirmed that an order for cancelling had not been put through, and that he would take care of itI called him at 9:am and as of 9:am all I've received is poor customer service, reps that will tell you anything to get you off the phone, and I am now waiting for yet another phone call from their Sales Department because apparently this is a process to cancel your service!
This has been by far the worst experience I've ever had with any company, and I highly suggest that nobody goes to them for their home security needsThere are 100% better companies out there!!!

I was looking to reset a Blu services at the home that I just moved into and a sales associate I spoke with asked for my birthday and last of my Social Security number before I gave her this information I specifically asked if it was going to be a hard or soft inquiryIf it was going to be a hard one I would not have given her my information and she told me that it was a soft inquiry so I gave her my informationThen I can alert from the credit bureau saying that there was a new credit inquiry put onto my credit report I called customer service they told me that ADT would take care of it and gave me another number to callI spoke with *** who says that he is a Lead Supervisor and the customer service department explain the situation to him and he said that he could only coach the employee and he couldn't remove the hard inquiry off of my reportI asked him why he couldn't remove it and he told me because I was still
