I called ADT Security Service and cancelled our service with them on 1/17/The reason of cancellation is that I have called multiple times to change our key pads and service grade but their technician never showed up at our homeWe switched our service to AT&T Security and have them installed their system on 1/29/
My issue is that ADT Never cancelled our service and keep billing us for itI called several times to ask if I could return devices but they kept informing me that I have no need to do soI went ADT site this morning too make sure our service is cancelled but still shows Active and they're charging me over $fee which is ridiculousI'm disabled and it's very difficult to sit in a chair and stay on hold with ADT for hours

On 6/25/2016, ADT employee told me ADT contract will be one year long, then I signed the contractYesterday, I called ADT to terminate my ADT account, they changed words and told me it was three years, and If I want to terminate it, they request me to pay over $early termination fee (ETF), which I was never aware of before signing the contractI searched online, and found ADT was sued in *** because they did similar things to customersthey did not inform customers the contract lasts three years and "demand outrageous cancellation fees" -https://topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/4183-adt-customers...⇄ is related to what ADT did to customers is "a recent ETF class action lawsuit claims that the way ADT handles things also violates ***'s Consumer Protection Act."
My husband and I are very disappointed with ADT's serviceWe thought we were getting the best there is out there, but their customer service is extremely lackingWe had our system installed after an attempted break in and spent over $2,on equipmentWe opted for the Pulse which is $a month because we liked the idea of being able to secure our home from our phonesIt worked fine while the tech was here, we were able to turn the alarm off and on several timesA few days after we tried to secure our home from our phones again and it will not workWe have tried countless times and it never worksI called ADT and asked if we could have our account changed to just the basic so that we are not paying for a service that does not workThe answer was no but that we could contact the company that services the app and systems to see if it can be fixedI contacted that company and my problem is still not resolvedSo now we are stuck paying $a month for two years for a service that does not workWe are also very disappointed with the tech that installed our systemThe wiring is just completely messed upWhen we try to arm our home under the "Stay" option, it is armed as "Away", and vice versaAlso we asked specifically for our garage window to have a sensor on it, but there is no sensorWe asked him to come back and fix it and he said he would contact us but never didADT is simply not worth the amount of money that they charge
ADT does not have installers, they use a company called Defender They were able to get me to buy extra equipment by stating they would give me a an extra $to the $promotional I sent in $to cover the shipping and handling for cards and they only sent after I called weeks later When I called ADT they said oh you made the deal with Defender I never even heard of Defender We called ADT and they sent a man out who identified himself as being with ADT I called ADT they would not discuss it with me Transferred me to Defender and they said do you have it in writing I thought I did but when he supposedly was finishing the paperwork, he only put $not even the $that was being advertised DO NOT TRUST THEM I was robbed and now the company I hired to protect me, robbed me to

When I terminated my service, I requested a copy of the fully executed contract from ADT to validate their claim I made multiple contacts to ADT requesting a copy of the fully executed contract and received zero response from ADT No call backs, no mail, no email I have bank statements to validate payments for at least years ADT made no attempt to resolve this matter Instead they have forwarded it to a collection agency I was referred to ADT by USAA as a veteran an do not appreciate how they handled this matter I have excellent credit and pride myself on being financially responsible

After many years of being an ADT customer I called on 6/20/ to cancel my service at my address located at *** *** *** *** ** XXXXX After ten to fifteen minutes of relentless sales pitches trying to get me to remain a customer, I was finally told that a day notice was required and that I would be billed for another month even though my service was disconnected I was charged for that month On 7/I was charged $again for another month and when I called I was told that the cancellation order never went through They have refused to refund the erroneous charge and their customer service reps are very rude

ADT needs to remove service fees for April, May, June, July, August, & Srptember 2016, no service through this period
I received a bill March which I phoned ADT to inform them to cancel my previous serviceMy balance was zeroADT was billing me for the future months of April, May, & June, on that statement for $ADT proceeded to send another bill which I phoned again to cancel my serviceThen ADT sent another bill which I sent a letter to again confirm cancelationI just received another bill dated June 13, for the next three future months of July, August, & September for another $totaling $ I again contacted ADT which they transfer me numerous times expressing they understand but the bills keep coming for service that I do not have
We have been with Adt since February we have had nothing but horrible issues with them as well as our alarm system

ADT is the popular, widely known name of home security and monitoringWhat they DO NOT tell you is that a company called DEFENDER is actually the company supplying your products, your warranties and completing your installationThe number on ADT's website directs you to Defender, however, they do not tell the customer this, so you think you are talking to ADT the entire timeThe most unfortunate part of this duo company is that neither take responsibility or attempt to help customers in the leastThey constantly point fingers at the other companyIn total, I've spent hours, ELEVEN HOURS, over the last days, on the phone being transferred from one company to another, "disconnected", thrown into queue lines that end in voice mails - you name it, I've experienced it
The sales agents who sell you the initial package will tell you anything you want to hear, as long as they get their money(Come to find out, they work on commission and get paid when you complete the sale.) I had an agent tell me that "all equipment necessary to protect your home and your family is FREE OF CHARGE" with the promotion they were running the day I calledThen, when the installer got to my house, he was directed by Defender to only install windows and I had to pay for the rest of them (This totaled over $worth of product)It took me DAYS to iron this situation out and in the end, it still isn't fully correctedI don't want to bother calling because I just don't have any more time to waste on this company
In short, if I could rip this alarm system out of my walls and go with another company, ANY OTHER COMPANY would be betterLiterally any other companyI am kicking myself for choosing their year plan because all that means is that I am stuck dealing with these bs for another months

Misleading sales pitch Sales representative assured me I would be refunded $519, once I had transferred to my residence It has been more than and month and no refund and no response to my emails I discussed issue with someone in corporate office but no action resulted from our conversation It seems like the proverbial run around
Installation incomplete as of due to tech did not have proper tools for installation But still auto withdraw from my bank every month!
After years of complaining that my installation is still not complete due to installation tech did not have proper tools to install, I finally reach someone in Customer Service today who confirmed this I am moving on the 29th to St Croix and was informed I will be charged almost $to cancel!!!! This is totally unacceptable!! I should be refunded every penny I have GIVEN ADT for years!!
