WH Finance Company Reviews (480)

The complainant is requesting reimbursement/refund of $6034.70 for an alleged faulty engine purchased on 8/10/2016. We did ship out the engine to the complainant on 8/26/2016 and alleged the engine “blew up” two months after installation. The complainant never did install the free warranty within...

the 10-day grace period per our records. Per the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty: Line 10: “Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty.”  http://engineshopper.com/warranty.php The Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty also state additional limitations for the warranty to remain in effect: “Engine oil and filter MUST be changed at the first 1,000 miles after installation and remaining oil and filter changes to follow manufacturers suggested schedule. (Official Service Center Records must be kept - No personal maintenance records are accepted. (Hand written etc.)” http://engineshopper.com/warranty.php From when the engine was purchased to when the complainant called in on 12/5/2016, there was roughly over 6000 miles put on the engine. There is no record of an oil change being made from the time the engine was installed to when the complainant called us on 12/5/2016 stating alleged engine issues. Due to the fact that the free warranty was not activated within the 10-day time period and no oil change was ever made on the engine, we denied the claim made by the complainant on 12/7/2016 and no replacement engine was shipped out to the complainant. Please let us know if you need any further assistance in resolving this matter, but we will assume this matter closed for the aforementioned reasons.

Regards,
[redacted]quote #[redacted] was the original quote they gave on a request for a Jaguar xj8 with a 4.0 liter engine.  They did not have the engine, so later sent another quote on their own in hopes of earning her business. [redacted] and suggested an alternative engine at a lesser cost.  refer to attached quotes. This was my sisters car and she did not recognize the fact that it was the wrong engine.  The company should have known that a v-6 was not an alternative to the original v-8, and it should have not been offered as an alternative.  As far as a picture was concerned, there was no number on the engine to take.  They indicated there were two engine types that it could be.  I did let them know it was the variable valve timing engine she had.  If they had not offered the wrong engine as an alternative, we would not be in this situation.  As experts, they should have realized this.

We do apologize but our distributor sent the wrong transmission by mistake. We are scheduling a pick and will issue a full refund once we get it back.

It is SW Engine's intent to ignore that "we freed the engine during inspection... with residual resistance in the rotation". It is SW Engine's intent to ignore the picture evidence of their engines internal standing water corrosion and rust as compared to the same intake valve port of my old engine. Buyer Beware!

I am writing you in regards to the dispute (Revdex.com complaint#[redacted]) I have with SW Engines. I recieved a e-mail from you folks in regards to the complaint I filed against SW Engines on 12/3/2015. I agreed thru the e-mail to let SW Engines contact me to make arrangements to refund my money if I dropped the dispute. Which I agreed to except them calling me to get my money reimbursed to me. When this [redacted] called me we talked about the issue of me not receiving my motor and me being reimbursed. I asked [redacted] to send me a e-mail acknowledging our conversation which he did (see attached e-mail). I called my credit card company to drop the dispute so I could be refunded to only find out that they were again coning me. If I was to drop this dispute thru my credit card company before being credited I would have no recourse. Which they are aware of this. SW Engines is using correspondence thru the Revdex.com to trick me into dropping not only my complaint with you guys, but to wreck any chance to get my money refunded thru Sears. These guys are terrible people.Thank you for your time.If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me[redacted]

Stop lying no one told you that you that you will not be charged. What makes you so special that we would change our policy for you? We did everything according to the terms and conditions that you agreed to before you paid. Take responsibility for your actions.

The customer never provided suffice int proof to his claim.  Our records indicate the engine had approximately 68,000 miles as advertised and sold under.  We do not pull records for the car and simply go by what is stated on the odometer when the engine is pulled from the car.  Any of...

our sales people will explain this one calling in and inquiring as we do not try to hide this fact.  Often we do not have records for the car due to the actual car being scrapped after all the parts are pulled from the car so it can be very difficult and at times impossible to locate these records.  If the customer had found an actual defect or was able to prove the claim, we would of gladly sent out a replacement at no charge even though it is not covered under the Free Warranty.  Therefore, we cannot refund when the customer has no proof of their claim. The customer was denied the charge back from his Credit Card for the same reason as you must provide proof when making such claims.

If Mr. [redacted] does not like the engine because of the timing cover and spark plugs which are just items that bolt on to the engine, then it is his responsibilty to just make it available for pick up an we will pick it up and refund him.

We could ask that the complainant please provide us with an invoice number as we are having trouble locating their order. This will allow us to be able to better assist in handling this customers issues and complaint.

Fortunately, GotEngines.com customer Service calls are said to be recorded. A review of those calls will show that I, in no way, threatened or implied that I would not return the faulty engine unless they paid for my labor. I did state that I felt that they should be responsible and, on another call, after they had failed to ship the replacement engine as they stated in an e-mail that they had, I did say that I was uncomfortable committing myself to the cost of removing the bad engine without having a replacement on hand. To this they responded that they would not send a replacement engine without the faulty engine first being in transit back to them, unless I signed an agreement promising to pay for a second engine should the faulty engine not be returned to them in a specified amount of time. That, to me, is unacceptable, in part, because I do not have control over the time frame and schedule of the repair shop, but also because I believe that GotEngines.com knowingly sent a faulty engine to begin with (there are just too many other complaints out there for this to be just an aberration). I have been nothing but pleasant with the people I have spoken with there as one can hear on the "recording" I have at no time been and, in fact, am incapable of being confrontational due to several brain injuries and brain surgery I have suffered. I have been unemployed for more than 20 months and am borrowing the money to repair my car. While I do feel GotEngines should be liable for the labor costs of installing the faulty engine they provided (note that the auto repair shop manager stated that there was nothing that could happen to an engine in shipping that would cause the engine to be so obviously faulty and it is his opinion that the engine was either never tested or known to be bad by the technicians at GotEngines.com) However, at this point I would just like them to provide what I paid for. A functional engine with less than 40,000 miles. It should be noted that there are numerous reviews that I have discovered online that make very similar complaints to my own. I would hope that GotEngines.com would be eager to avoid having, yet another, dissatisfied customer. Moreover, I would hope that the company's management would just want to take the right and appropriate action.

I fail to believe that SW Engines really incurred $848 in expenses related to pulling the item from a warehouse shelf, if in fact that was completed prior to end of business day on December 30.  Based on the email received from SW Engines, that action did not happen until a full 24 hours after my order was cancelled. The fact is, based on the numerous reviews I have seen online, including through the Revdex.com, and the fact that this business operates under multiple names and various addresses, I believe SW Engines is a scam, even if it is well protected by an purchase agreement.  I will not be satisfied until my money is refunded and my complaint protects others who may be thinking about purchasing from them.  This business has taken advantage of people who are looking for an economical solution to repairing a sizeable asset in a timely manner.  Even if the scam can not be proven, the ethics of charging someone over $800 for "processing an order" is despicable.

The complainant is requesting a refund as they feel they did not get the engine they saw online and had issues with length of shipping. The image that the complainant is shown during the buying process is only a representation of what the engine would look like for visual purposes. The image they see may or may not be the actual engine that the complainant received in the end. If the complainant is not satisfied with the engine we shipped to them, they are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fees plus customer assumes all shipping costs for returned products. Usual shipping times are about 7-14 business days but due to some unusual circumstances please allow additional time. It does at times take longer to prep and get the engine ready for shipment. We in the end did ship the complainant the engine they purchased and would be looking at the restocking fee and shipping costs if they wanted to get an additional engine as the image online is only a representation and may not the actual engine purchased.

The complainant purchased an engine from us and received it on 10/5/2016. The complainant stated the engine we shipped them was not working correctly so we requested paperwork stating that. We received the paperwork from the complainant and agreed to send the complainant a second engine to replace...

the original engine we sent. We stated that the complainant would have to set up a time for us to pick up the original engine before we could send out the 2nd engine. We have yet to have the pick up scheduled so we are unable to send out the 2nd engine. Once the complainant calls to set up the pick up and we receive the original engine, we will gladly ship out the 2nd engine. Per the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty: Line 6: "Warranty does not cover initial installation."  [redacted] We do not cover any initial install of the engines that are sold so the complainants claim for installation is not valid. We hope this closes this matter and any issues going forward once the complainant schedules the pickup of the original engine.

The invoice number of my order to SWengines is invoice # [redacted]I have also sent some pictures of the engine its self... the first picture that I have uploaded is the actual listing of the engine and what I was led to believe that I would be receiving. The other pictures that I sent to you is the...

actual image that I received. thanks [redacted]

The Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty do not cover initial install and only covers labor after the following criteria has been met: “LIMITED LIABILITY FOR ENGINES: Parts and labor warranty begins on the 14th day & 501st mile after the part is installed.” Therefore, regardless of whether...

or not the complainants Free Warranty had been activated the initial install labor would not be covered nor would our representatives elude it was.  We sent out the replacement engine free of charge on 3/2/2016 and the Warranty was activated on 3/10/2016 for the replacement. We now consider this claim closed for the time being.

Mrs. [redacted] had ordered an engine from us on December 18, 2014 and it was sent to her in a timely manner. She had called us 3 months later to complain about some of the bolt on items and covers were broken but the actual engine itself was not broken. We had asked here where the engine had been for 3 months and what had happened to it because it did not leave our facility like that and we have photos of it to prove it. It must have either got damaged while it was in transit or while it was in Mrs. [redacted] possesion for the 3 months. We had told her if she noticed it was damaged she should have reported it right away, or she could have done a damage claim with the trucking company and they would have reimbursed her, but you can ot open up a damage claim 3 months later after you receive a part you have to do that right away. However the parts she said were broken were just a front pulley and a timing cover, both items are just bolt on items and are not covered under warranty anyhow, she knew that because she had agreed to the terms and conditions form that stated it.http://www.engineandtransmissionworld.com/warranty.php customer agreed to this before paying

We are not a fraudulent company. We did not ship the engine because Mr. [redacted] was constantly calling and threating to do a chargeback on his credit card, and that is what he has done, and now has all of his money back.

The Terms and conditions of the Free Warranty clearly state on line 1: Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics,...

belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.  Additionally, on line 15: We do not warranty oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets or filters. The Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty must be read and agreed upon before placing the order and is indicated by selecting the text box as confirmation before moving forward and purchasing the part.  Therefore, the claim from the complainant was denied based on these Terms and Conditions. We often see many automotive shops not doing their due diligence before installing a used engine.  The warranty can be viewed here: http://engineshopper.com/warranty.php?vid=[redacted]. The yellow tag which we have attached to the engine and have attached here clearly states all gaskets should be inspected and replaced, if needed, and specifically states the Rear Main Seal has to be replaced.  We do suggest the complainant pursue this matter with the shop and would be more than happy to assist with this matter if the information provided above does not suffice.

The complainant is requesting a refund due to an alleged issues with the transmission that was shipped on 9/7/2016. The complainant called on 10/5/16 alleging issues with the first transmission sent on 9/7/2016. The complainant did not register the warranty so per line 10 of the terms and...

conditions:  Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty. https://www.swtransmissions.com/warranty.html Even though the warrranty was vioded due to it not being activated within the 10 business day window, we did send the complaintant another transmission as a form of goodwill and good customer service. We also covered the shipping cost which normally is charged as well. We feel we went above and beyond as we did not have to send out a replacement transmission due to the terms and conditions of the warranty but in this instance, we did. This should satisfy this matter and deem it closed.
