We shipped the complainant their engine and it did not work properly. We then shipped out the complainant a 2nd engine. The complainant never registered their warranty on the 2nd engine. Per line 10 of their Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty: "10.Engine or transmission must be installed AND...

warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL BE VOID. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty." http://www.swengines.com/warranty.php. Due to the complainant not registering the warranty, we will not be able to honor any request prior or future when it comes to warranty claims.  We hope this closes this matter and any issues going forward.

The complainant is requesting a refund due to time frame of product being shipped out. The complainant ordered their engine on 7.14.16 and called to raise issues on 7.25.16 as it hadn't shipped yet. The complainant disuputed the charges with their credit card company. Per our Free Warranty Terms...

& Conditions, Line 3: 3.All returned parts or cancelled orders are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fees plus customer assumes all shipping costs. https://www.swtransmissions.com/warranty.html Becuase the order was canceled and not shipped we did charge the complainant a restocking fee. The complainant originally paid $1015 and got a refund of $761.25 due to the restocking fee as the disput the complainant filed with their credit card in the end, was deemed to be in our favor. In the end the complainant got his refund minus restocking fees due to canceled order. Please let us know if there is anything further we can do to assist in resolving this claim.

We already came to an agreement with Mr. [redacted], and the agreement was for him to make both transmissions available for pick up and then we will pick them up and refund him. So far we only have received one transmission back.

The complainant ordered an engine on 2/16/2017 and was sent out on 2/22/2017. the complainant states that we sold them an alleged bad engine but no information was given to us that the engine had issues. Also, the complainant failed to register/activate the warranty and per the Terms and Conditions...

of our Free Warranty: Line 10: "Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL BE VOID. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty." http://qualityusedengines.com/warranty.html. It is stated when the complainant makes the purchase that they much activate the warranty. Due to the fact that the free warranty was not activated within the 10-day time period, we denied the claim made by the complainant and will have to deny any future claims. Please let us know if you need any further assistance in resolving this matter, but we will assume this matter closed for the aforementioned reasons.

The Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty clearly states in the LIMITED LIABILITY FOR TRANSMISSIONS section: “Warranty must be activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty.” The Terms and Conditions must be agreed to upon before making the purchase and is indicated by the standard checkbox seen on most sites. https://www.qualityusedtransmissions.com/warranty.php Our system records all attempts to activate the warranty automatically as a log file. The complainant wanted a refund  for his purchase, but due to the warranty being voided and installation of the transmission over 30 days from purchase, the complainant's claim was denied.

Mr. [redacted] was sent a replacement on accident, we have now picked up the transmission and Mr. [redacted] will get a refund immediatly it will show up in his account in 3 to 5 business days.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]this is a complete and total  lie they quoted and sold me an engine not a motor.  They then told me it would cost 600$more to get an engine and that I had ordered the wrong part they never shipped anything  repetedly  sent me email telling me they were shipping an engine 1.3L .. then after I said bs on you guy they lowered the price $200.  Then told me they were giving me a refund but say they have and I had to pay 195$in restocking.. they say they sent the refund less atound $200 but it never showed up .. they have called me names and yes I used profanity  after they called me names and lied to me repeatedly  all I want is a full refund but clearly dale anthony and John make a.living writing and telling lies.  This is a horrible business  why does wisconsin  put up with this.. it's clear from all you folks have had to deal with them wisconsin  knows they are enabling a band of thieves.  Makes me think twice about buying anything  out of Wisconsin including that great cheese. I'm very ashamed I did not go to bb before I payed these thieves any money.

The defective engine has been available for pick-up.  The second engine will be paid for once you reimburse me for the installation of defective engine and the cost to remove it from my car.

Yes we finally got Mr [redacted] fax on Friday, it was turned over to management for review we had told Mr. [redacted] that it would take a few business days for the process.

my order and invoice # was [redacted] there is no warranty info to submit. my order was never completed by seller and I canceled the order 4 days after placing it but never got a full refund

The complainant never activated the Free Warranty per the Terms and Conditions of the purchase which all customers must agree to before purchasing.  The Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty are prominently displayed on the web site under the header Warranty. In addition, the Terms and...

Conditions are also displayed during the checkout process.  You must select a check box which indicates “I have read and agree to the Terms, Conditions and Warranty above”. Contained within the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty it clearly states in the LIMITED LIABILITY FOR ENGINES/TRANSMISSIONS: “Parts and labor warranty begins on the 14th day & 501st mile after the part is installed. Warranty must be activated within 10 days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED.” There is also a prominent link on the invoice once the purchase has been completed letting the customer know Warranty Activation is necessary.  This is standard procedure with our industry and not exclusive to our individual business practices. The complainant had ordered both a transmission and engine from us and approximately two months after the order had not activated the Free Warranty for either. Regardless of this fact we attempted to work with the complainant on the claim.  We informed the complainant to send over the diagnostic report and invoice from the shop he had the transmission installed and if all checked out we would send him a replacement.  After receiving the diagnostic report and invoice from the complainant’s mechanic, we discovered he had made an additional violation of the Terms and Conditions in which the Transmission Filter was not changed.  These are used transmissions and not new require care before installing which stipulated in the Terms and Conditions under the Exclusion section, Line 23: “We do not warranty oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non-replaced seals, gaskets or filters.” Therefore, the Free Warranty is now void for the reason of not following the Terms and Conditions of the Warranty. Please let us know if you need any further assistance in resolving this matter.

1 yr  12k mile parts and labor warranty. Invoice [redacted].

The complainant ordered an engine from us on 5/17/2117 and received the engine on 6/5/2017. The complainant is requesting a full refund for the engine purchased for the sum of $1170 ($1620 for engine, $300 for returned engine, and $150 for parts purchased). The complainant activated their warranty...

on 6/20/2017. The complainant alleges the engine was not working properly. The complainant alleges the problems with the engine were: Low compression - every cylinder, Low end knock, No compression stroke, Timing chain has 3/4-inch slack on one side, 1/2inch slack on the other side, No oil or oil residue in the motor, Freeze plug rusted through with the plug in it on driver’s side of engine,All heat shields rusted through, Upper intake plenum gasket is bad, Upper plenum was put on backwards, Valve cover gasket is bad, Engine smokes due to high mileage or broken oil rings, All sensors were broken or missing on motor, Engine has been visibly partially dismantled, pressure washed and painted silver in an attempt to hide any imperfections/indications of wear. We do not see any warranty claims from the complainants in our system at the time of this letter. Per the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty: Line 10 “Engine or transmission must be installed AND warranty activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED. Falsifying information will automatically void your warranty.” Also, per Line 1 of the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty “We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.” https://www.qualityusedengines.com/warranty.html.   Since the complainant received the engine on 6/5/2017 and activated the warranty on 6/20/2017, they voided the warranty by not activating it within the 10 day window. This is stated very clearly on our website and on the receipt the complainant was given and submitted for review due to this issue. Due to the fact that the complainant did not activate the warranty in the correct timeframe, all current and future warranty claims will be void. We hope this closes this matter and any issues going forward.

The customer called in and insisted on cancelling the order although it had only been 14 business days since the order was placed including holidays.  If we include the holidays as they are not business days, we have 10-12 business days considering frieght companies only deliver half of those...

weeks due to the holidays.  The engine was ready to ship when the customer called in.  We refunded the customer on 1-6-15 minus the 25% restocking as agreed upon when purchasing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 11831503, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The response by Engines LLC is false and is unresponsive to the issue complained of.The vendor advertised and sold a transmission as "tested and functional". It was not functional, and not tested. I paid the installer double the labor costs due to the vendor selling bad merchandise, and using false pretenses to effect a sale.I have attached the report here from my installer detailing the problem with the first transmission shipped and sold as tested and functional. The seller tries to rely on the fact that their stated warranty does not apply because I did not drive the non-functional transmission for 500 miles.Seller should be banned from doing business entirely and should also be investigated for false advertising and deceptive practices.Attached are the three documents outlining the issues with the double installation costs, defective transmission issue, and request for reimbursement.

I shouldn't have to pay my mechanic to tell me their engine cannot be used. If they approved my mechanic to tear the engine apart they should cover that cost.. Again terrible company, not standing by their product. Cheating me out of $1200 that they approved my mechanic to do. This is their product that I'm having to pay for to tell them it's crap

According to Honda 2001-2005 transmissions should be the same. Never the less a replacement transmission is shipped and the customer should see it by 8/18.

The complainant purchased a used transmission from us on 12/22/17 and it was shipped out on 12/28/17. The complainant did agree to the Terms and Conditions of our free warranty with their initial purchase of the transmission. The complainant is requesting a refund in the amount of $545.00 as the result of calling and canceling the purchase of the transmission. The complainant did call us on 12/29/17 to cancel their transmission thought the transmission was shipped out on 12/28/17. We are more than happy to refund the complainant for the purchase transmission but the complainant will have to cover shipping and a 25% restocking fee. We do see the transmission was delivered on 1/11/18 and was accepted. The specific sections of the Terms and Conditions state as follows:3: All returned parts or cancelled orders are subject to a 25% handling and restocking fee plus customer assumes all shipping costs. All the terms and conditions of the free warranty are prominently listed here:http://www.swtransmissions.com/warranty.htmlDue to the complainant canceling or wanting to cancel the product, any amount refunded would be given back to the complainant minus the 25% restocking fee and shipping charges. Since we have not heard from the complainant about the delivered transmission we would assume this issue resolved and the complainant is happy with the delivered transmission. If they would like to return the transmission we would ask that they call and speak to a representative to schedule a return pickup on the purchased transmission. Please let us know if you need any further information from us.SW Transmission Customer Service Team
