We have reviewed this case and unfortunately he did not activate the Free Warranty per the Terms and Conditions agreed to when purchasing. On 3-18-15 the customer called in and spoke to our Warranty Claims Representative letting us know the engine was burning oil. The customer claimed...
he was going to replace the Valve Seals and get back to us which would of more than happily covered if the customer would of followed the requirements to activate the Free Warranty. We have no record of the customer contacting us again as he claims. Considering this is November and the deadline for activation is well past due, there we cannot honor any warranty claims. We encourage all customers to follow the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty to make sure these type of situations do not occur.
we are contacting the customer right now to rectify the issue.

I accept the refund minus the 25% handling and restocking fees plus I assume all shipping costs. I need to know where to send the engine back to.

From: [redacted] [redacted]Date: Mon, Jun 8, 2015 at 1:25 PMSubject: Re: You have a new message from the Revdex.com of WisconsinTo: [redacted]This needs to be closed.... Believe it or not, I got my money refunded to my credit card!
Mr. [redacted] had purchased a good used running 3.9 engine for a Dodge Van way back in February. He is calling us now all of a sudden out of blue to report that the engine looks worn out? His mechanic has completely disassembled the engine and removed the rod and bearing caps, which...
first of all voids all warranties per terms and conditions form that he had agreed to. If he would have wanyed to exchange the engine before he disassembled it we would have done so, all he would of had to do is call us and then we would have exchanged it right away.

The invoice number given to me is [redacted]. The warranty info is one year parts and labor. I have included an attachment. I am not good at this so I hope you get it alright....[redacted]
We would like to have verification about the statement that we lied about the mileage on the engine. We receive this information from our sources and if there has been some sort of discrepancy with mileage we would like the opportunity to make sure the customer gets what they ordered....
The timing gears are not covered per the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty and this is an item the mechanic should of checked when installing the engine. We find most failures come from mechanics not performing due diligence when installing. Also, the Sensors are not covered per the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty the customer agreed to before making the purchase. Line 1 of the the T&Cs state: "Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts..." Additionally, the T&Cs clearly state we do not accept handwritten invoices in an attempt to avoid fraud: "Any handwritten information on records, receipts or repair orders, pertaining to or documenting required maintenance are not acceptable." These are not NEW engines and therefore the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty are as such and a universal standard in the Used Parts industry. We have done no wrong doing and ask this complaint be removed on the grounds of false accusations and slander.

The complainant has been offered by us to replace the faulty lifter and rocker and did not accept our offer. All other items are only left on for convenience purposes which is stated in the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty which all customers must agree to when making a purchase and...
are not covered. As clearly stated on line #1 of the Terms and Conditions: “1. Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.” As far as we are ware from the mechanic’s statement the engine is not unusable as long as these items are replaced. We will still gladly replace these parts as previously agreed upon.
The complainant is requesting a full refund of $1865 due to claimed non functional transmission. The complainant purchased a CVT Transmission which under our warranty is not covered. Warranty Limitations: Line 10: CVT transmissions are not eligible for extended parts and labor warranty. Due to...
this type of transmission purchased it is not covered by the warranty so the claim submitted was denied. Complainant also registered the warranty on day 12 after delivery which puts any claim in void as "Warranty must be activated within 10 business days of delivery OR ALL WARRANTIES WILL VOIDED." https://www.swtransmissions.com/warranty.html. Due to these two points, the claim was denied based on these Terms and Conditions of the warranty.
We had sent Me [redacted] a used 6.2 diesel engine for a 25 year old 1991 Chevy truck, he had said that he had refused it because the fuel lines were rusty. However we do not sell the engines for fuel lines, fuel lines are just on the engine for convenience purposes and are bolt on items, there was...
nothing wrong with the engine, just because the fuel lines are a little rusty does not mean that the engine is no good. Therefore Mr. [redacted] will owe us for 2 freights and a 25% handling and restocking fee once we get the engine back here. He also said that he disputed his credit card, This is a just a typical common scam some people do nowadays because times are tough and it is easy free money for them, they order a part, then they refuse it for no reason, then they demand a refund, we refund them right away, then they dispute their charge card and get paid twice for ordering a part from us. It is just an easy way for people to take advantage of business' like us in the automotive industry.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. We had not previously dealt with this company and were not familiar with the warranty activation policy. We were unaware that after the second engine there would be no more warranty. We feel it is not fair to the consumer that they purchased an engine that no longer has a warranty and that this company does not stand behind their product. He researched this company and was told the warranty would be 3 years parts and labor. The first time the engine failed, there was NO labor covered. The quote stated they had the "strongest warranty with a dedicated warranty department". This was the selling point for our customer and we find it very misleading. It is my opinion that they set up this "WARRANTY ACTIVATION" so they get out of being liable. If they are going to continue to do that they need to be upfront with the requirements.

The complainant purchased a used engine from us on 2/1/2017 and it was shipped out on 2/7/2017. The complainant did agree to the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty with their initial purchase of the used engine. The complainant is requesting a refund in the amount of $1,500.00 due to the...
mileage allegedly not being accurate on the purchased engine. The complainant purchased a used engine from us that, to the best of our knowledge, had 42,000 miles on it. The complainant did look up the VIN from the engine and allegedly stated the engine had 205,000 miles on it. We did let the complainant know that the mileage is not guaranteed and is correct to the best of our knowledge when they brought this to our attention. The specific sections of the Terms and Conditions state as follows: 14: The stated mileage is not guaranteed and is correct to the best of our knowledge. All the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty are prominently listed here: https://www.qualityusedengines.com/warranty.html. We did let the complainant know that we would schedule a pickup of the engine and issue a full refund. We have the engine pickup scheduled for 2/16/2018 and once we have the engine back at our location we will offer a full refund to the complainant. We do hope this closes this matter going forward. Please let us know if you need any further information from us.
On May 7, 2015 Mrs. Anne [redacted] had ordered a 3.8 engine for a 2008 Hyundai Entourage and it was sent to her in a timely manner. On June 9, 2015 her mechanic had called to report that the engine had a cam and crank coalition code which does not necessarily mean that the engine is bad, it could...
have been easy fix with a little bit of oil system cleaner and by switching over a cam or crank sensor, but Mrs [redacted] mechanic did not want to go that route, he wanted us to send a replacement and that is what we did. We are not sure if Mrs. [redacted] knows but the 2008 Hyundai Entourage 3.8 engine is notorious for sludge build up especially if you use other oils other than Mobile One Synthetic Oil, so that may have been the case with the first engine we sent Mrs. [redacted], if it does not look sludgy though the oil filler, then we would not run the oil system flush through it if it is not needed. If Mrs [redacted] did so much research and recorded so many phone calls then I am sure she would have understood how the warranty works, because if the extended warranty is not activated then she would not be eligible for labor coverage, also if she would have read the terms and conditions form that she had agreed to then she would have seen in the contract that we do not cover rental cars either.

Listen You never shipped anything to me . You failed to ship it when lisa said it would ship. You can not say you have something in stock and now say instead of 3 to 5 days it ships in 7 to 14 nobody would do business with you ,. You are a fraudulent website and try to keep peoples hard earned money. Just give me my money back and stop all this back and forth stuff. You say its my fault cause I didn't read you FAQ page. I think maybe you should PUT it in big bold letters when People go to buy from you., Im not the only complaint or the only person you ripped off.

The alternator housing is an integral part of the front engine timing cover and is part of the engine and not a bolt on peripheral. I would like them to credit back the cost of replacement for the part and related part to resolve the issue. This includes the gaskets and bolts that need to be replaced when disassembling the from engine timing cover. This should also include the cost of the guide rail since the mileage on the engine is in question. If they agree I will send a parts list and the selected vendor and the costs of said parts.

I called on 6/2 for a status update. The engine was supposed to arrive no later than 5/28. Below is the statement from an email they sent to me:

I asked for a supervisor so I could get a tracking number and they swore at me and hung up SW Engines IS fraudulent because they never shipped the engine, and now they are spreading lies about the fact I swore at them to cover their mistake. I never called them before that time (which is now a new story). DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY!! They can't even keep their lies consistent. Regards, Chuck [redacted]

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I understand about the warranty on the engine, however, the issue is I have never been given proof that this was a low-mileage engine. I paid addition premium for a low-mileage engine. When the mechanic too the engine apart, the engine, he determined that the engine had well over the mileage that I paid for and, in his opinion, the engine sent to me was in worse condition than the engine it was replacing. Quality Used Engines has never provided me with proof that they sent me the low mileage engine that I paid for. They have no way of proving it to me. What I paid for and what I got were two different things. It cost me money to have the bad engine installed and more money to have it uninstalled so that I could be sent the correct one. I have made numerous phone calls to QUE management only to be treated very badly and hung up on. If they provided a quality part at a quality price as per their claims, this would never happen.
