here is the proof of purchase [redacted]
but I can't believe any company would expect a customer to spend more money shiiping a product back to them at there own cost then the product is worth.
please escalate this problem to your supervisor if this can't be resolve then I will no longer be supporting sony products. I own a ps2 ps3 and ps4 and over 500 games. but if this is the kind of support sony will offer when a customer has a problem then I wont be spending no more of my money or time on them.

well if its going to cost me more the ship the product in then the product even cost whats the point of even having a warranty. clearly sony don't know what good customer service is. when a had a similar issue with a Nintendo product and called them. all they asked for was the seriral number and said its not worth our time or effort for u to ship the old one back to us we will send you a brand new one at no cost to you and the very next day the shipped out a brandnew part no questions asked and no arugment from them and there c/s agent didn't hang up on me like sonys did. guess I know what I will be doing... time to ditch my sony junk I will deal with Nintendo and mircosoft from now on thanks for nothing sony.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
It isn't the cash amount that I am concerned with, but the principle that Sony is shipping anyway expired codes in their products then offering no help or substitute.
SCEA has given so reason as to why the resolution can not be agreed upon. They've started no corporate policy or state law. On phone I asked why the customer should suffer even buying a brand new product with already expired content inside it. They only said that "it sucks" and that they apologize. If they are unable to provide a $10 voucher replacement, a middle ground would be $5 dollars.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Sony is responding by saying they appreciate the opportunity to address the matter, then flip flop and say there is no way to replace the expired coupon program.
However, I'm not asking for an exact replacement for the same coupon program, but $10 store credit for damages. The idea that Sony would be unable to provide this is absurd, especially considering the second man I spoke to on the phone said I would receive credit via email.
Very disappointed with the double talk and poor service by Sony.

The consumer's...

PlayStation was purchased new in January 2008 and is now long past its one year warranty. For a nominal fee, we will replace his PlayStation with a more recently released recertified model , but we will not waive the service fee.
Here are our complete warranty terms: https://www.playstation.com/en-us/support/warranties/ps3/
Sony has not acknowledged any defects or announced any recalls for PlayStation 3s.

Sony does not acknowledge any defects? Is it not aware of the term "YLOD"? You can find it on most PlayStation forums. This is a rather common defect on these consoles.
I will never buy another Sony product.

Re: Case No. XXXXXXXX
Consumer: [redacted]
Thank you for contacting Sony Computer Entertainment America, LLC (SCEA) regarding the above-reference Revdex.com case# XXXXXXXX.
A forum posting referring to the preferred method of troubleshooting a malfunction of the PlayStation does not indicate a 'known issue'. Just as error codes will help identify an issue to assist with troubleshooting, indicator lights identify symptoms that sometimes can be resolved. When troubleshooting doesn't work, service is required.
Although we appreciate Mr. [redacted]' feedback regarding our policy, we maintain our decision: we require a fee payment to service his PlayStation 3.
SCEA appreciates the opportunity to address this matter.

Revdex.com:This is what I was told to do, I was told to send the game controller to the following address and upon receipt they would ship out a brand new one for me.  If they honor their word, then I will accept that the case will be closed.  Given the nature of the situation, I am making sure to take a picture and get a receipt showing proof that I sent the package to them.  Thank you for your help Revdex.com.

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:

When my original one stopped working due to keys sticking, I shipped it to your company at my expense and was told that I would receive a brand new one instead I received the same one under false pretense and then it stopped working in less than 6 weeks, with the same issue of the keys getting stuck.  I do not believe it is fair that I paid for a brand new product which was defective and I shipped it back expecting that I would receive a brand new one in return only to receive something that was refurbished and the product stopped working again.
Sincerely,[redacted]
