I signed up for a trial period to find a roommate. I did not find one. Imagine my surprise when I found a $45 charge pending on my bank account a few weeks later. I tried to contact customer support and was told that I approved the charge by agreeing to an email where the charge was written in small print. When I tried to ask how they could to this, I realized I was speaking to a computer. They don't have any way of contacting the company without talking to a computer or leaving a message. Yes, I did get a "pro-rated" refund. Of $43. I was lucky that I noticed the charge right away. I'm sure if I hadn't they'd be even more impossible to reach.

As we stated in a previous message, she used a “request a pro-rated refund” link AND disputed the charge with [redacted]. Since she filed a dispute with a [redacted], there was no option for us to issue a refund and after this action she is no longer eligible for any refund. She was not telling the truth neither to [redacted] neither to Revdex.com. All charges were authorized by customer. We had responded to the dispute and provided [redacted] with all the evidence that charges were authorized and [redacted] resolved it in our favor. Which clearly show that it wasn’t an unauthorized payment. p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545; min-height: 14.0px} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; font: 12.0px Helvetica; color: #454545} from [redacted]

[redacted] At this point, she is not eligible for any refunds any longer. We consider this matter is closed and waist of Revdex.com’s time.

all transactions were done by Apple, not by us. We do not even have his card information. (please, see the “Billing page” screenshot)He had to cancel his Roomster subscription within his Apple account. Had he done it, all billing would have ended and Apple wouldn’t charge his card anymore. He sent a message to the Helpdesk on 4/*/2017 and deleted his account right away. Then he created 4 more accounts and deleted them (please, see the “Accounts” screenshot)We consider this matter is closed.

process the cancellation of her subscription. We have explained that to her and we immediately issued a full refund of the last transaction. (see screenshot “Helpdesk”). This is shocking that person wrote a complaint after we have fixed the issue! We consider this matter is closed and waist of Revdex.com time.

This is an overpriced and shady version of [redacted] apartment search. It's $14.95 for a 15-Day Trial. What is not immediately obvious is that when the 15-Day Trial is over, you are automatically signed up for a $29.95/month service for the next three months. You will not receive any emails for messages letting you know this has happened. So if you missed it in the Terms of Use agreement and receipt, and haven't checked your bank account, you may not be aware it's happening.
They also include strongly worded information on their receipt email that indicates they are well aware of their deceitful tactics, and are defending them:
"Warning: You are responsible for paying for this service charge. If you dispute these authorized charges Roomster reserves the right to provide your bank with proof of authorization, turn your account over to a collection agency and notify the credit bureaus."
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved. However, Roomsert Corp. should be the subject of an intense investigation for unethical business practices. Everybody, stay away from this company.
Sincerely, [redacted]
Roomster is an internet scam in the truest sense. I was using Craigslist to search for rooms to rent and contacted a handful. The majority of them directed me via text to sign up for a Roomster account (they provided a link that was not clearly a link to Roomster but directed me there when I clicked on it) - then, and only then, would they contact me to set up a time to see the properties. So I signed up for a free account and searched Roomster for the listings, which were nowhere to be found. I waited several days and texted to follow up. Still no response. Then Roomster informed me that I needed to subscribe to their service (for a fee) in order to be able to receive messages. So I did that, and still no response from any of the rentals that promised to contact me for a showing. Once I paid the trial subscription fee and completed my profile, I started getting messages about available rooms. I emailed these offers back, and when I asked to see the rooms, they gave some excuse like being on a short business trip, and asked me to make a hefty security deposit before seeing the property. When I responded that I would prefer to see the room first and could wait until they returned from their trip, radio silence. So I started looking into Roomster and found loads of negative reviews and scam reports online. I am sad that I wasted my hard-earned money and valuable time on a useless service. But I am even sadder that such a fraudulent company is allowed to continue to exist and to continue to steal people's money.
[redacted] makes some untrue statements in her report to the Revdex.com, she claims that she was renewed before her 3 days were up, untrue. She purchased on 12/*/2015 6:43:20 PM and was renewed automatically on 12/*/2015 8:05:58 AM, that's more then 72 hours, or 3 days. She contacted us on SUNDAY...
12/*/2015 4:25:21 PM and we replied to her on SUNDAY 12/*/2015 10:51:41 PM We have also issued her a refund for her last charge, which we would have done anyway. Its a shame that people feel the need to jump and get so reactive and file a complaint with the Revdex.com, when the company has not done anything wrong, and had not been given the adequate chance to respond. We have issued the refund and consider this matter closed.
His statement that information about subscription renewal is placed microscopically is not true. You can see it by clicking on the links below. [redacted] uses our service, as you can see from the proof (see screenshot “User Log”) he used our service on 7/*/2016, 7/*/2016 and last time he logged in to his account on July **, 2016. He is not eligible for any refunds. We consider this matter is closed.Tell us why here...
Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:
The business refuses to fix this problem in a way that allows [redacted] to be used again reasonably and is only providing vague responses about 'doing [their] best' or irrelevant excuses like '[redacted] has [redacted] scammers, prostitutes, con artists and dishonest people'.'Scammers' on [redacted] come from all over the world. They still don't cause nearly as much trouble for me as roomster affiliate postings do.
In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.
Sincerely,
[redacted]
