I had an ADT system installed in February The troubles started right away with the key pad light not working; called but never got an response
Then on Tuesday March 14th I had a alert on my back door, called and was to told to bypass and I would get a call from ADTThirty six (hours) late on Thursday got a call and was told no one would come out earlier than the following Wednesday late afternoon that someone would come see about the problem, almost a full week leaving my back door un-monitored and unprotested, DEFENDERS, Incdba Protect Your Home seem that protesting their customer in not a priority
Then I had an area wide outage from *** on my TV, internet and phoneI called ADT from a friends phone since I only have a land line which was out-of-service to the monitoring center for ADT to be sure I was being monitoredI was told my system is not monitored if my phone is out

Protect Your Home is worthless, unprofessional, and deceitful, to the point of fraudulentEvery time I call, it's a different storyTheir technician failed to tell me pertinent information about the service, I have been overcharged, I have had to sign THREE separate contracts, which they like to backdate to the date the contract was SUPPOSED to be signedThese people are unhelpful and demeaning when you contact customer serviceThey are trying to gauge you for your money and they don't care what they put you through in the processI thought getting an alarm system would make me feel safer but honestly, it has been NOTHING BUT A PAIN SINCE SEPTEMBER I cannot WAIT until my contract is over and I can contract with a REPUTABLE and PROFESSIONAL companyDO NOT GO TO PROTECT YOUR HOME!!! THEY WILL STRESS YOU OUT FOR MONTHS AND THEN BOUNCE YOU AROUND FROM PERSON TO PERSON TO GET ANSWERS

when they came down to give me a quote they pushed me to sign up by telling me camera were included at no additional cost and that monthly payment will stay at a month and the only reason he cant install cameras that day is because he doesn't have anywhen they came the next week to install the cameras (which is past the time I can cancel) he tells me there is an $charge to install and my monthly payment will go up to $a month when I spoke to his manager and told him the technician told me other wisehis repose was "you should have read the contract more carefully" I told him he is right but is that how they run their businesses by lying to people his repose was "cancel just pay 75% of the year contract" I told him that ridicules he says sorry you should have read the fine print

I originally contacted ADT after shopping for a home security system for my homeI was told that I would pay a one time fee of $99, all base equipment would be free and the monthly services would be $Well on April 14th an employee from defender came to my houseRight off the bat he told me that the base system wouldnt work in my house and the base sensors would not work on my windowsI know nothing about security so I trusted this guyHe was very pushy and in a rushWhen it came time to sign paperwork, he held the tablet and told me his version of what paperwork said and kept saying id get a copy of the paperwork sent to my email to just sign hereI never once had the opportunity to read thisFast forward to the next day, our keypad said it had a faultnot long after ADT called wanting to check in because they could see on thier end our system had issuesThey walked my fiance through the steps of resetting the system which he didNext day, same issueADT called again

Horrible experience with this company since system was installed weeks ago!
- Installer didn't properly connect carbon monoxide detectors as a signal wasn't being sent to monitoring station or ADT pulse
- Installer didn't provide ADT monitoring our phone number and phone password to call us if an alarm sounded
- Technician that was dispatched to trouble shoot carbon monoxide signal didn't put system in test modeADT couldn't call us as installer hadn't provided correct phone # to monitoring stationPolice showed up
- Spent hours on phone with ADT and Defender requesting to cancel monitoring contractCustomer service on both sides was useless and they kept point the finger of blame at each otherI was ultimately threatened with collection action if I didn't continue to pay monthly fee for this incompetence
Do yourself a favor and find a security firm that is competent, professional and customer serviced orientedADT and Defender are a joke

I am 100% dissatisfied with every aspect of Home Defenders customer service, installation, fees and product I would like to terminate any connection to the unscrupulous company
I spoke to the ADT representative/sales person and set up an appointment

I was emailed the documents but it was too late, they were gone and I couldn't reach anybody by phone or email

I received a flyer in the mail, offering ADT monitoring services through Protect Your Home in the mailIt offered service for $27.99/monthI called the number on the advertisement, and one of the first questions I was asked was if I had a landline phoneMy response was noI made clear to the gentleman I was speaking to (Roger, badge number 16010) that I was interested specifically in the offer that had been advertised and that that was the only reason I was callingAt no point was I informed that I did not qualify for this offer without a land lineAt the end of the phone call, the gentleman said in summarization "charges of $or $a month" and I said "I'm sorry, what was that?" And he continued "or $or $28"I paid a $fee upfront to have an installer out to my homeWhen he arrived, I was told I only qualify for plans beginning at $a month, almost double what I had asked for when making the appointmentI am now locked into a contract for years at almost double wh

This letter is in response to the complaint #*** filed by *** ***By way of background, Defender Security Company DBA Protect Your Home is an Indiana corporation that specializes in selling residential alarm systemsWe have been an ADT authorized dealer since that sells and installs ADT monitored security systemsOnce the security system is installed, the contract is then purchased, billed, serviced and maintained by ADT
We have researched into Mrs***’s complaint and located her account. Our records show we installed her system back on July 18, 2014. On July 21, we returned to downgrade her system from a cellular back up to a landline connection. The following day Mrs*** and her daughter *** *** called in to advise there was wiring left exposed after the job was completed on 7/21/A job was set for August 1, to inspect the damage. We did not receive a report from this inspection
In September 2014, we were contacted by ADT in regards to this damage claim. We advised ADT at that time that we were waiting on claim documents from the customer in order to process the claim. We had no record of any documents being received. Today I was finally able to speak directly with Mrs*** and her daughter ***. They both stated they have been faxing documents to a representative in my office but never received any response. I apologized for the troubles and promised to take care of their concerns. A job was set for October 15, to inspect and possibly repair the wiring damage. I’ve also expedited a $Visa and added a second $Visa for her troubles. Both Visa’s should arrive in about business days.
We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the consumer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address her concerns

A few months ago my house/garage was broken into twiceMy trade tools were stolen; welding machine, mechanic tools, and moreThis prompted me to seek out an alarm systemI chose ADT because it was top choice among reviews
I agreed to pay the installation visit, and the tech went right to work before even going over the detailsHe was explaining as he was installingThe whole thing felt like I was being rushed into itHe came at 6pm and did not leave until the job was done (About 9:30pm) I was impressed but worried tooHe was quick, and friendlyEverything was working fine for the first monthAll wireless systems, keypad, motion detector etc
Then one day a month later, a sensor in the garage fell off the wall (main garage door)It was pasted by sticky tape which did not hold and garage door bumped itI called for serviceTech came out, put it back, and that sensor was no longer workingThe man-door on the garage sensor was workingBut the tech said I need

DEFENDERS, Inchas over billed me for continuous months I have contacted them each and every month about the over billing but they refuse to change the billing I have a signed contract for $per month and they continue to bill for $per month
They also refuse to refund the amount I paid for equipment that was subsequently removed when I down graded the system two days after installation
I also have a signed contract for what the refund should be, but again they refuse to refund the money

Defenders dba Project Your Home are complete scam artists preying on the people who don't know any betterTheir representative Cody M*** ***, came to the house of my elderly parents and promised them the wireless plan with ADT pulse for the same price as a landline planHe installed the Pulse apps on their phones for them and everything worked, for exactly the three days it took for the contract to become binding He then turned off the Pulse service and pointed to the fact that he hadn't ever checked that box on the contractAs such, the company had refused to make it right by saying it's not in the contract, a contract that he had my elderly, trusting parents sign on his cellphone with incredibly small font by ensuring them that it was on the up and upDo not use this company unless you want to be ripped offThey do not care that their salespeople blatantly lie to customers about what they are getting and have very clearly demonstrated no interest in making things rightThey simply say that you can cancel, but that there is a 75% cancellation penaltyThe fact that these charlatans are still I business is absurdDo yourself a favor and don't throw you're money away, go with someone who actually cares about their customers

My experience with purchasing and getting my alarm system installed was punctuated with multiple promises, including a verbal promise from agents that I could cancel my contract within months, promise for additional services, and a hidden fee and process for getting the $gift cardConsidering ADT’s excellent reputation, I foolishly believed what I was told

I am being billed by this company and I am paying corporate ADT not them They are not providing my service yet they continue to bill me and have collectors call me I have written and called them to tell the I am a ADT corporate customer yet the bills keep coming I was not even aware of the bills as I no longer live at the address they claim to be servicing I received a letter from the current owner saying he is having problems with them too I have done everything to tell them this is a billing error yet nothing ever gets fixed even after I am told it is solved I have only been told via the phone it is solved and never in writing so now I have written to ADT corporate office to inform them of their independent contractors duplicitous billing practices

9/12/a Defender/ADT technician was given a Pulse Security Camera to be returned and a $credit card charge reversed within 5-business days On 9/21/I spoke to Roberta ID #who stated the camera has not been returned and she would need to contact the technician’s supervisorAfter which Roberta assured me she would call me to notify me the resultShe further stated that the refund would not be given in 5-business days rather it would be days I then asked that the 24.97% interest be added to the refund October 1,I called and spoke to Roberta once againShe asked me if I had another camera! I told her no that I wanted my $refunded with interestShe repeatedly talked over me and was not listening to meI asked for her supervisor and she stated there wasn’t anyone else to speak withShe told me she would request that my refund be expedited and on 10/2/when she spoke to someoneAfter speaking to someone it could take another 5-business days b

On Friday, April 13, I called the company to inquire on pricing The agent wanted to run my credit and I said NO! I am in the process of purchasing a home and my credit can not be pulled I told her I was a prior ADT customer and gave her my old address in which she looked up She then try to offer me some deal and I said not right now since I am just shopping around She tried very hard and even got a supervisor with super powers to try to convince me and I again told them NO I can not do anything with my credit and that I am only shopping around for pricing The next day I received an alert that ADT/Defenders, Inc pulled my credit I was livid and called them immediately I alsoput in a complaint to them in reference to the agents actions running my credit without my consent I requested that they remove this from my credit report and that I would have never jeopardize my home by having them pull my credit especially when I was in process with the underwriters I re

I paid this company in full with a certified check $they lost the check and call me times a day harassing me and threatening to put this matter on my creditI have contacted their management, sent emails proof of the check and my bank has as wellMy bank is willing to reissue the certified check once they receive signed documentation from Defenders, Defenders will not send the paperwork back for the certified check to be mailed to themThis matter is out of my hands being that I paid they're installer with the certified checkPlease assist in stopping the harassing phone calls from there untrained employees

We have researched into Mr***’s complaint and located his account. Our records show we did relocate an alarm system for him on November 3, 2012. Our records show he spoke with our Movers department back on November 2, to set up the relocation. At that time, he was advised of the year term during the sales call. He was also further advised in writing when he signed the new contract on November 3, when the system was installed
Unfortunately, we cannot provide the resolution he seeks. We apologize for any inconvenience or frustration that the customer may have experienced and we appreciate the opportunity to address his concerns
