Don’t consider or contact Defender Security dealer for ADTAll the literature and phone conversations are totally miss leadingAs an example, the $gift card they promise is only sent to you after you pay them for shipping and handlingAvoid at all cost

My wife had signed up over the phone for an in home security consultation and when the representative arrived we learned that the information we were provided over the phone regarding the cost of and setup of the system were not as advertisedMy wife and I then felt like we were pressured into agreeing to an install that ultimately progressed very badly and unprofessionally The tech lost connection with his home office multiple times while trying to activate the system causing him to loose patience resulting in an incomplete installation of sensors he had promised us The process lasted a very long hoursEven worse, he never provided the required education and instructions on how to operate the system so we were left to our own devices which was ultimately unsafe considering we are dealing with a security system connected to fire and police servicesUltimately we decided that the service and install were not what we were promised over the phone and definitely not tomour satis

I called Defender Security for my father since he's had several seizuresThey said the only way they could confirm appointment was to have a credit card for $99.99, with taxes came to $I explained we only needed the basic package of $a monthWhen the technician came out, he explained to my father, that recently had seizures, that he needed several other features they offered, to a total of $I never noticed the charge till 11-9-when I looked at my credit card statementI called and asked who authorized this transaction and they said my fatherI asked my father and he said the sales technician never allowed him to view documents and proceeded to initial sign my father's name in all marked spotsI called *** *** and explained the situation and they filed a dispute for the unauthorized chargesI called defender and asked why they used my credit card again and they said when I made the initial $appointment, they enter my card into their system to be used for any future purchases, without the cardholders knowledgeI said that I only have a $limit on my credit card and would have never made that careless of a decisionThey kept saying my father signed the agreement, which made him fully responsibleCome to find out, the salesmen took whatever means he had to take advantage of an elderly couple

ADT put my husband's name on a contract that I was the one in the room and signed for my husband was not homeAlso we are moving and because of their poor service we would like out of the contract and they will not let us continue the existing contract will not move the contract they want us to resign another contract again in order to continue to be customers on equipment that I cannot take with me without being charged to reinstall

I requested a quote from ADT after looking them up online on May 24th 2018, shortly thereafter; we got a phone call from someone claiming to be an ADT representativeI was quoted on the phone for months at $per month, a $key chain, a free key chain and $installation fee with a pro-rated monthly rate for the first monthThe total was to be $ I was also promised a $gift card, which I never received
I was asked and had also confirmed at that time that we did in fact have a land line telephone with our cable and internet providerI was asked for my credit card number for verification purposes only At no point were we told any money would be charged to our card at the time of this call, but, later found out that money had been charge to my account
The appointment was made for May 26th at 9amThe technician that came to my home was wearing an ADT uniform and represented himself only as an ADT technician; never did he mention he was with a subcont

The technician(s) were extremely efficient, friendly & knowledgeable They still need to return & install rear camera We have used ADT exclusively for years without a problem

I wanted to install alarm system given that I occasionally go on vacationSo I did some research and found that ADT is a large providerI also found out that they offer day free cancellation periodThen my search directed me to this company where by no means that I noticed it was not ADT but just one of their authorized vendors
Many representation or misleading handling of their business:
1)I was told by the sales rep that the $landline package works perfect for me given that ADT will know that my line is cut and they will send the police if line is cutThen the technicial came to my house and said to me that it will NEVER work for me given he tried so many systems and rip them off without triggering the alarmHowever, since he was there and had spent hours before he sat down to explain, the installation had to begin with the $monthly charge oneI was promised that I can cancel or downgrade in days by the technician
2)At no given point in time

I received an ADT advertisement to my home address in mail and I called the Defender (ADT Authorized dealer) to discuss the offerThe advertisement told that they will provide $worth of home security system and $Visa gift cardIt also mentioned monthly rate is $So I called the company number (1-866-431-9944) and started discussing the optionsI was talking to an lady and I gave my requirements as I need more security system equipmentSo the lady transferred my call to her supervisorI told him I have doorways and windows that I need to protect and also I need to control all this via phone appSo he told he will give the equipment for free which includes contact sensors, keychains, motion sensor, smoke detector, keypads, yard sign, $Visa gift card and phone appHe told inorder to get this I need to pay $monthly for year contractI told YES and I agreed on phoneI scheduled my installation on Jan The technician has come and he st

I cannot get the company to respond to an email request I made on their websiteI have been a satisfied customer for several years and hope I can continue as a customerThey do a very good job monitoring my home alarm and making repairs as neededI currently pay $50/mo for monitoring servicesThey sent me a flyer (not realizing I was already a customer) offering a new system and monitoring services for $27.99/moI asked them to tell me how I can switch to that rate...either by them changing the pricing for my existing configuration, or if I should cancel my service and reapply as a new customerSo far they have refused to respond

Excellent technition! The technician was very knowledgeable, respectful and patient with my advanced age He explained everything in detail and I feel comfortable using the system

In May 2018, my ADT system was installed by a Defenders technician who informed me and my spouse that an updated camera for the doorbell would be available in two monthsWe were told that we would be able to upgrade to these cameras from the indoor cameras we added to the basic account In total, we added over dollars worth of equipment in anticipation of our move to a larger dwelling
In July 2018, approximately two months after installation, when I contacted Defenders to request the upgrade as specified above, I was informed by an agent (employee number 19274) in a recorded call on July 23rd that Defenders was trying to "cut down" on practices like the one mentionedThe promised equipment moreover would not be available until September and January 2019, respectively That agent arranged a call with the technician and the supervisor, capturing the details of the call on a recorded lineEmployee returned to my line to confirm that the technician had indeed repeat

I contacted ADT to purchase a home security system and little did I know that it was actually a 3rd party vendor, Defenders (Protect Your Home)My system was installed on Dec 1, and after a few billing issues, everything was fineI contacted Defenders on April 23rd to inform them that I wanted to transfer my service from my old apartment to my new apartment in the same complexThey took all the information, told me they would install new upgraded equipment, instead of removing the old equipment, and would throw in some extra equipment, along with a $gift card to cover the $installation feeThey then played a recording to which I had to agree, which is when I realized I had to enter into a NEW 3-year agreement, instead of just transferring the service and maintaining my current contract which has about months leftI wasn't happy about that and decided to cancel the transferI was then informed that I would have to pay 75% of the remaining contract,, roughly $

We moved from our home at *** *** *** *** *** ** *** on August of this year Prior to moving I contacted ADT Protect Your Home and told them to cancel the service They asked that I send a letter to them regarding the cancellation, which I did That was the last I heard from them Then, shortly after, I began to receive letters From *** *** indicating that they were a collection agency and that we owed $because of an automatic renewal fee that had not been paid Apparently they said that I was supposed to send a certified letter to ADTdays prior to the cancellation, which I had no idea about, as that is not what they said during my telephone conversation with them at the time of my first call
I called ADT to find out what was happening and why the mand subsequent collection agency, and they blew me off and transferred me to the collection agency They refused to give me any details I called *** *** and they just said

My year old father was sold security system with a year contractShortly after he signed up, he went into a nursing homeMy father never knew how to use the security system and I am appalled that the sales person from ADT Defenders would have him sign a year contract with an early termination chargeI contacted Defenders with a letter asking for the contract to be terminated waving the early termination chargeI sent a letter, Power of Attorney document, and letter from nursing home stating my father is a resident there nowI sent the documents certified mail and tracking states it was receivedAfter numerous phone calls and being on hold, I was told to re-send the documentsI asked to email them and was told there was no email addressI chose to stop payment with my father's bank no longer authorizing the monthly service fee to be withdrawn from my father's accountI feel my elderly father was scammed by this companyI could not believe how difficult they were making

The installer, Mike, was professional and addressed my questions and concernsHe was knowledgeable and made some valid and important suggestions regarding my safety concernsMike was personablevery easy to work with and patient I felt comfortable using rhe system after his "tutorial"..l was apprehensive at first as I replaced an outdated system which was cumbersome and complex Mike is a great installer and representative of ADT

I ordered ADT not knowing that Defenders was at second company to them anyway I called to cancel today and and they telling me I can't cancel because of a three-year contract which they didn't say anything about and they didn't tell me anything about a three-year contract I got nothing with a three-year contract and they and they have no signature and they're saying I have to pay 75% of the total bill for the three years and and they are not willing to cancel this account and the system was only installed on March 22nd and it's April 19th today so not even a month and when I first got the service she said I had days to decide whether I wanted it or not and she they said nothing about a three-year contract on top of that I paid for the installation with a credit card and yet the same day that they took out for the installation they took out more dollars for something else I don't know what because they hadn't never installed the system yet so how could they charge me for something

Hello,
I ordered my security system on 04/I had the technician install window sensors, door sensors, smoke detector and sensor motionMy system was having technical issues and the technician came in on 07/03/
The technician said you have a defective window sensor and will replace itHe took the defective one and installed a new onePer customer service and my contract, my equipment was still under warrantyI received a phone a call early December from your collection department requesting me to pay a bill total of $I explained Lisa Wagner and another supervisors, the technician never said about me paying for the replacement equipment and I never signed an invoice to agree with this billI advised them why was I being informed about this bill only now? This team insisted an additional equipment was installed and disagreed I offered them to send a technician to review all my equipment and declined
My entire equipment was still under warranty!!!

I currently receive services through them for my homeI paid for the fees and anything else that was dueI also am enrolled in auto pay so I don't have any issues with my billI got a letter from my local police department that I had to pay for my alarm to be registered so I didThen I get a call from defenders saying that I owe them money for a permitI told them I paid my bill as well as my permit and registration feeThe lady proceeded to tell me that was to ADT and my local police and not to themShe said I owed them and that it was past dueShe said that the fees were in my contract and should've been explained to me during installation as well as an automated phone call at the end of my installation call stating about the feesThis was not explained to me when I inquired about their services nor was it explained during installation or afterThese were hidden fees that were not mentionedI guess these are subcontractors feesThis was not explained to me at allIt was

I had a new alarm service installed on 7/15/by Protect Your Home, an authorized dealer of ADT At the time of installation, I was promised a $Visa Reward Card as part of a promotion On 10/26/16, I contacted customer support because I had not received my reward The agent stated that an email was sent back in August informing me to register my reward to receive it I searched for this email but did not find it I was told by the agent that my email could have gone into my junk folder Emails in my junk folder expire after days, so I couldn't find it there either So I couldn't find the email, and the date had expired for me to register my reward, it expired on 10/18/
I had no record of the email, or that there would be an expiration date to register for My Visa Reward
Felt like a Bait and Switch operation to make a purchase

I contacted ADT who stated they needed to run a soft inquiry on my creditInstead they ran an unauthorized hard inquiry which violates the FCRA
On or about April 4th, I contacted ADT Defenders to inquire about a security system installationDuring the call they stated they needed to run a soft inquiryThree times I asked whether it would show as a hard inquiry (please review recordings) I reiterated that I would not authorize a hard inquiry as my credit score was and hard inquiries stay on the credit for yearsThey assured me repeatedly it was merely a soft inquiry like utility companies requestI agreed with the stipulation that it would not impact my creditOn 4/14/I received notice through my credit monitoring software that they had, in fact, processed a hard inquiryI was not applying for a line of credit or financial assistance, thus the need for a hard inquiry is unjustified, but more importantly, unauthorized and as a result, a violation of the Fair Credit
