Thank you for your email of 2/12/regarding the above referenced agency complaint that you received 2/12/After review, we would like to respond to your letter with the following detailed explanation
Please note that our primary method by which we secure orders is by telephone solicitationIn such cases, our representatives take orders with a 60-day right of cancellation to a 1-year subscription to one of our newsletters, books or online programsWe have very stringent quality control procedures regarding our representatives making this offerThese include verifying the mailing address, asking for the month and day of the person’s birth and asking for the person’s email address or fax so we can send written confirmation of the order within hoursThis serves to encourage contact with us if there are any mistakes or changes that need to be made
Regarding the specifics of this situation, please note that *** ***, Office Manager, placed an order on
6/9/for our Safety Compliance Alert publicationWe were provided with birth date information as 5/as well as an email addressWithin hours of the discussion, we sent a confirmation letter that clearly restated the offer discussed, including the liberal 60-day, no questions asked, cancellation policyOur computers show that the confirmation went through without any problemsThe birth date information is obtained, in part, to verify the conversation took placeOnce the order was placed, the same computer system sent the newsletters and invoices over a 5-month period of timeThus goods that were ordered by ** *** were sent to the same address that shows on this complaintOur computer system records and tracks all confirmations, invoices, online programs, books, periodicals sent and cancellation requestsIt does not show that we ever received a cancellation on this account or mail returned as “undeliverable”If we had we would have cancelled the account immediately
With all telephone orders placed, if the ordering person does not find the information helpful, all that needs to be done is to write CANCEL on the invoice and return it to us or advise us any other way and the subscription will be stopped with no payment required, as is the publishing industry’s general customHowever, if neither paid nor cancelled after months, warning notices, plus an additional 30-day “wait period” the account may be turned over for collectionThat is what happened in this instanceAs a courtesy we contacted the collection agency on 2/16/and advised the agency to cease collections and cancel the accountThey have assured us that will be doneThere will be no ramifications due to the account being turned over for collectionThere is no money due or owing on this accountWhile researching this complaint we did find that this company has
done business with us in the past and is aware of our cancellation
policyWe found numerous “risk free” subscriptions had been accepted before; paid in full accounts, for the Executive Director were ongoing for & years, while others were cancelled as we instructed
We initiated a request on the same day that the company name and telephone number be removed from our
computer filesThis action takes approximately 30-days to processIn business we hesitate to
say the company will never receive another mailing from usIf the company’s name is misspelled or the zip
code incorrect, our computers may not recognize it and something may go outIf that should happen,
please call and we will remove that version also
Please know that we do business regularly with thousands of companies who regularly place repeat orders due to their continued satisfaction and excellent customer serviceAll of our contact information is in our newsletter and contains our toll free telephone numberWe, also have a hour/days a week voice mail system due to the large amount of calls we receive daily from our coast-to-coast subscribersFeel free to contact the Customer Service Department if you have any questions at ###-###-####Thank you

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
*** *** was not told of the "day right of cancellation" policy by the sales representative *** *** did not provide payment information to this business He did not sign for anything He would have responded if he had received an invoice or bill Instead, we got a call from a "collections" agency at the beginning of this month The collections agency said we could "settle" for only $rather than the $charge.

Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
However, I hope the Revdex.com will take notice of this complaint This company's response has presented the facts of this situation is such a manner as to make it appear that they are a legitimate business, operating in a professional manner, when in actuality this "business" is merely made up of aggressive phone solicitors who prey on the unsuspecting, overburdened office assistant to get him/her to agree to "free" and "complimentary" services The fact that their response states that we have used their services in the past alerts me to take immediate action to inform all of our employees to be on the lookout for any future contact by this company. I can assure you that any services they say we have purchased from them in the past were an oversight, which is likely how they hope things will work - get the person who answers the phone to say OK and get them to provide the solicitor with the personal information they need to make such "sale" appear to be legitimate, then two months later send an invoice for this "service" which they hope will make its way through the payment process.
I wish there was more the Revdex.com could do to prevent this business from continuing their fraudulent practices, but we greatly appreciate the Revdex.com's help in bringing our situation with this company to a close
Thank you and best regards, *** ***

I am currently caught up in the same scam that others are reporting on this site They claim that they talked to an employee of our organization who agreed to accept some publication from them with a confirmation of her birth date They apparently send a couple of sheets of paper as their product and then start to invoice us Now that they have turned our "account" over to a collection agency, we have learned that PBP has a "policy" that we must cancel in writingMany of you know that scam invoices are sent to businesses all of the time - usually for "information/publication" services They hope that those unknowing will just pay

Thank you for your email of 4/13/regarding the above referenced agency complaint that you received on 4/10/After review, we would like to respond to your letter with the following detailed explanationPlease note that our primary method by which we secure
orders is by telephone solicitationIn such cases, our representatives take orders with a 60-day right of cancellation to a 1-year subscription to one of our newsletters, books or on line programsWe have very stringent quality control procedures regarding our representatives making this offerThese include verifying the mailing address, asking for the month and day of the person's birth date and asking for the person's email address or fax so we can send written confirmation of the order within hoursThis serves to encourage contact with us if there are any mistakes or changes that need to be made. Regarding the specifics of this situation, please note that *** *** ***, Quality & Audit Spec, placed an order on 9/5/for our Quality Manager's Alert publication and he provided us with birth date information as ***, as well as an email addressWithin hours of the discussion, we sent a confirmation letter that clearly restated the offer discussed, including the liberal 60-day, no questions asked cancellation policyOur computers show that the confirmation went through without any problemsThe birth date information is obtained, in part, to verify the conversation took placeOnce the order was placed, the same computer system sent the newsletters and invoices over a 5-month period of timeThus the goods that were ordered by *** *** were sentThis computer system records and tracks all confirmations, invoices, on-line programs, books, periodicals sent and cancellation requestsIt does not show ever receiving a cancellation request or mail returned as "undeliverable"If we had we would have cancelled the account immediatelyWith all telephone orders placed, if the ordering person does not find the information helpful, all that is required is to write CANCEL on the invoice and return that to us or advise us any other way and the subscription will be stopped with no payment required, as is the publishing industry's general customHowever, if neither paid nor cancelled after 5-months, 2-warning notices, plus an additional 30-day wait period the account may be turned over for collectionThat is what happened in this instanceAs a courtesy we contacted the collection agency on 4/13/2015 and advised them to cease collection and cancel this accountThey have assured us that it will be doneThere will be no ramifications due to this account going for collection and there is no money due or owing on this accountWhile researching this complaint we did find that this company has done business with us in the past and is aware of our cancellation policyWe found 10-"risk free" subscriptions had been accepted before; 1-paid in full account while others were cancelled.
Please know that we do business regularly with thousands of companies who place "repeat" orders due to their continued satisfaction and our excellent customer serviceAll of our contact information is in the newsletter and it contains our toll free telephone numberWe, also, have a hour/days a week voice mail system due to the large amount of calls we receive daily from our coast-to-coast subscribersPlease feel free to contact our Customer Service Department if you have any further questions at ###-###-####Thank youCordially,
