Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 9, 2015/09/22) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
This "cut and paste" answer is what I have come to expect from big businesses, the way that they completely ignore and belittle their customers, the way that they can make up their own rules and feel that they will never be held accountable.
On their website, the dealership, and 2 of the 3 customer service people that I spoke with told me as some point that I could get warranty work done for my new and fully paid for Indian Scout at a Victory dealership, as Polaris owns them both. And now they blatantly ignore my complaint from the Revdex.com, and put up this answer. NO, I do not accept the response from Polaris/Indian/Victory.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 11, 2015/10/01) */
Warranty claims will need to be made at authorized Indian Motorcycle dealership. We will not be able to assist with customers request to have his Indian Scout get warranty service performed at Victory Motorcycles dealership. There will be no further contact involving this matter.
I am rejecting this response because: The Polaris EV is 10 months outside the warranty because they...
refused to fix it when it was still under the warranty. They were told it would fail prematurely and they didn't care as long as they could put it off till they didn't have to pay and that's exactly what they did. Anyone who really cared about customer satisfaction would have taken it apart and found the problem the first time I brought it to them under warranty. Obviously they are only concerned with not spending money honoring their warranty. They claim that the popping noise I reported is normal but I have ridden in two other Polaris EVs and neither of them popped at all. If the noise is normal I would like to know if it is normal for an 18 month old EV to have the gears in the front end worn out already and everyone else should expect theirs to wear out as quickly. Or did the gears wear out because there was a defect from the factory?
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2015/10/01) */
The negative camber on customer's unit is normal. The camber will not cause tire wear issues if it is being used for it's engineered purpose of a off-road vehicle. No assistance can be offered for customer's unit as it in normal condition. The...
camber angles on these machines are preset from the factory and non-adjustable. Information has been explained to customer internally through Polaris representative. There will be no further communications with customer involving this case.

There is no issue with customer's unit. Polaris Ranger is a designed off-road vehicle. The suspension is designed to have a negative camber to perform in an off road setting. Polaris spoke with Mr [redacted] on January 14, 2016. At that time Mr [redacted] was advised that his unit has been out of manufacturer warranty since April 26, 2013 and his extended service contract is administered by Assurant. Since Assurant is administering the ESC Polaris has no details on the alleged failure of dirt ingestion however it should be noted that ingestion is not a warrantable defect under our manufacture warranty. Mr [redacted] was also informed that part #2204636 was on backorder because our supplier experienced a failure and one of their tools needed repair. Polaris acknowledged the consumer was unhappy and offered a $200.00 goodwill coupon for Polaris parts, apparel and /or accessories. No further contact will be made with the customer in regards to this case.
Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/10/30) */
Polaris and the customer have come to a resolution. The client was informed that belts are excluded from warranty as they are wear items. However as a onetime goodwill a coupon was agreed upon in the amount of $150.00 to redeem apparel and/or...
accessories at an authorized dealer. It should also be noted that the complainant returned to a dealership on 10/27/15 after his initial complaint was filed with the Revdex.com the machine is being repaired under warranty and the dealership will contact the client when it's ready for pickup. No further contact will be made with the customer in regards to this case.
I am rejecting this response because: I don't agree with their decision as I have a off road dealers license. I bought this sled and it was very dirty from sitting on a open trailer. So I took it home to clean it up and took off the panel, hood and exhaust to give them a good cleaning for resale. I think maybe that I never got the exhaust properly put back causing problem there. But that wasn't why I took it into Western Motor Sports. It was for the drive axle and then they noticed that area and added it to the claim as well. They assumed the sled had bumper to bumper warranty and added it as well. When I bought this sled I gave it a good inspection and there were no signs of misuse anywhere. As you can see from the pictures. I would like to counter offer to: If Polaris would send me the replacement drive axle and whatever other parts I would need to repair that area. I would do the work myself. All I ever buy is Polaris sleds and never had any problems like this before and I have been doing this for over 10 years and had numerous sleds. I am hoping than Polaris will accept this offer.[redacted]

The issues with consumer's unit has been resolved. Polaris(c) agent has reached out to consumer following up after repairs, and there have been no issues.
I am rejecting this response because: there is nothing to support there claim that the drive shafts failed to prevent further damage if anything a bent drive shafts would cause more damage there was no damage to the undercarriage that the drive shafts is protected buy there are numerous cases of these drive shafts bending and it is bent not twisted or broken
am rejecting this response because: I just called the dealership I purchased my Polaris Razor from to see if indeed they were starting to receive the parts needed to complete the recall. They told me they haven't received any parts in over a week and that my name was still on the call list. If Polaris Industries can't do any better than this when it comes to solving customer complaints, this will be the last ATV I ever purchase from them and I'll make sure all my friends who are stuck in this situation with me feel the same way. I believe Polaris feels they can just ride this out over time and to hell with the customer. They're not making any points with the local folks around this area. This is just unacceptable.
Polaris has spoken to consumer under case #[redacted]. Consumer has been advised Our # 1 goail is getting dealers enough parts to address customers who need vehicles repaired. Our allocation process and recommended order process will help manage through this. We have been shipping service kits...
to delaers since April 19 and continue to ship. Warranty covers the cost of repair it does not compensate for down time.
I am rejecting this response because:
Polaris did "Not" reach out to me on this matter. That statement is false. Polaris should warranty this and all the damage it caused due to the bolt being broken obviously for a long time( which they would have been able to see had they actually reached out to me as they claimed to . Yes the dealers are independently owned but they are authorized Polaris dealer who either are not willing to or able to work on Polaris equipment what is the consumer to do? Also why is Polaris not even addressing the first problem I stated which was the noise in the front end that I had my machine into a dealer to look at and was told they all do that, which again is a false statement . It is obvious to me that Polaris did not even look at what the complaint is and are just giving a generic answer to make it go away. These are known issues that Polaris has on these machines that Polaris is aware of and they both should be covered .
Polaris is working with this consumers dealer on a resolution to this case. I would advise this consumer's best point of contact is his dealer because Polaris does repair our vehicles.
I am rejecting this response because: I have spoken to Polaris Rep. I have not declined assistance from Polaris. I simply stated that I should not have to bring my vehicle to a repair facility outside of a 25 mile radius. Polaris could have offered that my vehicle be towed to a facility capable of completing the repairs. So I would not have to be inconvenienced. The facility I purchased was 4 miles away and has since closed. Had I know that the dealership where I purchased was closing I would have taken that into consideration before purchase. The Rep. also indicated that the parts are still not readily available. So no matter the facility recommended my vehicle still is not scheduled for repairs. This vehicle is considered a motor cycle, It does not provide front impact protection, does not have safety features of a standard motor vehicle. I accept that but when there are significant safety issues, I have decided to stop use till repairs are made.
I received the recall notice October 24, 2016 and as of 5-23-17 the vehicle has not been scheduled for repair. This has been 7 mo. This is completely unacceptable. Ohio Lemon Law indicates that repairs are to be made within a reasonable time. All Ohio Motor Sports is the facility closets to my home. They indicated to me that my vehicle may be able to be scheduled for repairs possibly June 2017 and that they would contact me. As of today no call has been received from All Ohio to schedule. I will continue the Lemon Law process with my lawyer. I am open to discussion with Polaris. The final disposition I will accept from Polaris is return of vehicle with no or partial refund.
