Extreme overcharge for garbage disposal.
I have an annual service contract with Morris Jenkins. The call to my home yesterday was initially for a clogged garbage disposal, which is to be covered under the annual contract. While here, the service man said my 3yr old disposal was rusting and I would have ongoing issues with it grinding food. So, he suggested a replacement that he had in the truck. He brought in price sheet for *** Disposals. 3 price options.... I chose the middle price ( I thought all extremely expensive) $650/ $750/ $1,000+ I choose the middle range $750... he said with tax it would be $805.45 .... I trusted them! He said the price was so high because of 9 yr warranty they offered. So, in telling friends about it, they suggested that I look around for price of that model. The highest price I found was $269.00! I called the manufacturer only to find that 9 yr. warranty was from them and would be the same at any retail price.... which is the retail price of the disposal purchased anywhere! I called Morris Jenkins and the plumbing super returned call ... with ridiculous excuses for the additonal overcharge .....and then he offered me a 10% discount! Beware ... this company is a rip off ....they are salesmen and not service men. ( I called various plumbers today and found that the going rate to replace a like disposal in Charlotte is between $90/ $130. Plus their initial visit was to be no charge because I am under annual contract to have services like a clogged disposal taken care of at no charge! ( also, they left no warranty card for me to fill out.... I now ask...were they going to fill it out in their name to honor what they told me was "their" 9 year warranty.??) When I spoke with *** they said for me to register with them on the phone in my name! Morris Jenkins is big at advertising .... bait and find a way to make you buy a contract for inclusive services that they try to make up in other charges!!! Model

Desired Outcome

I am willing to pay for the installation of the new disposal.... the Charlotte range is from $90 to $130. Since the initial visit was to be a no charge because of the annual service contract I have with them, I feel a middle of those amounts is fair. The charge for the unit itself should be what it retails for in the range of : $260 to $275. Also, I would like a refund for the annual service contract .

Thank you for forwarding the customer's feedback to us, we appreciate the opportunity to address our customer's concerns.
The customer called us out on 5/4/20 for a Plumbing Service call for a backed-up garbage disposal. Our technician found the blades to be rusted and dull, which was also causing a clog under the sink. He presented the customer with some options and she chose what she felt was best for her. The technician installed the disposal as well as new piping. As a Priority Advantage member, the drain line was cabled at no additional charge to restore water flow the same visit.
We received a call back from this customer the next day with the complaint that our prices were too high based on some price shopping she had done. Our Plumbing Supervisor returned her call and tried to explain some of the differences between Morris-Jenkins and some of the other places she received pricing from. The 9-year warranty is through Morris-Jenkins, not another company. It provides for full repair or replacement, no additional fees or 3rd party contractors. Additionally, we provided 100% property protection guarantee. This is so our customers can feel peace of mind when doing business with us. That evening, the Plumbing Supervisor did refund the customer 10% of the amount she paid and cancelled her Priority Advantage membership as she requested.
As a company, we have chosen to provide high value in our services. Our pricing is based on many things including a fully stocked warehouse, trucks stocked with the many different parts needed to service our customers to eliminate delays in taking care of our customers. Perhaps most importantly, our well-trained technicians which install the parts and provide top customer service to our customers. Our customers can also feel comfortable knowing that the technician in their home has passed a criminal background check and are randomly drug tested as well. Our pricing is set at a level required to retain quality personnel and to provide good customer service.

I am writing to inform you that this morning a gentleman from Morris-Jenkins phoned me regarding the dispute matter pending. We agreed that the amount of previous charge of $805.45 be corrected to $402.19 ( tax included) as payment for Order# 2936687. This amount settles the dispute pending and I have terminated all future services from Morris-Jenkins.

I regret the need to have engaged the Revdex.com but know that I deeply appreciate your assistance.

I'm a happy and loyal priority customer with MJ. I got my units serviced today and Daniel and Jared were phenomenal technicians. With COVID-19 they came totally prepared and was respectful to social distancing. They were professional, well uniformed and very trustful with their knowledge. They were very clean and left my house impeccable as well. They took their time to complete the service and made sure I understood everything that was done. I'm extremely happy to be a customer of a great HVAC company that stands by their motto. , You cannot trust every HVAC company, but know that Morris Jenkins can definitely be trusted.

Christine C came out to fix a clogged pipe near my washing machine. She took a stressful situation and made into an informative and professional conversation with a side of humor, which I needed and appreciated! She was so knowledgeable and gave me multiple choices and options. She was also training another technician with such a positive attitude. They made a great team! They were very polite and efficient, and worked extremely hard until the job was finished while always being respectful of our home, and always keeping us in the loop explaining the work that was being performed. Usman was very professional while at the same time friendly and courteous. He did a great job servicing our air conditioner,and showed me a potentially serious problem which, after seeking my permission, he fixed. We even talked about cricket, of which his father and I are great fans. I told him to tell his father that England would beat Pakistan this summer, but I doubt if he was foolish enough to do so! I would be very happy to have Usman serve as our technician at any time in the future.
