Lachay went above and beyond / bailed me out of a tremendous jam today. My pipes, and house, are old and he fixed them to my needs and by that I mean he offered 3 solutions to the problem and we went with the one the best suited my issue. He didn't force me to the most expensive solution as we talked through the options - as we talked through my long term objectives with my house we picked the solution that best fit the need. I appreciated not being given the hard sell you get at many places in many industries.
Failure to acknowledge, verify or honor an existing 5 year limited warranty or attempt to repair AC before installing full priced $9,750 AC system.
I called Morris Jenkins 8/17/19 because AC not working. Ethan E, Tech. came 8/17 and checked system- Said Compressor not working. Said he did not think it was still under Warranty and that he could not verify this until 8/19 and it will take a very long time to get parts and install, thereby leaving me without any AC at all. Said I needed a whole new system and quoted $10,000 ($9,750 if paid by cash) Said if it is covered under warranty my cost would only be $3,500. New system installed on 8/19. Since I am the 2nd owner of the house I was initially unable to verify warranty, but later learned that the unit was indeed covered under 5 year warranty. No attempt was made by the initial tech or anyone else at Morris Jenkins to check with *** (***.)When I contacted Mike Q to advise of the warranty issue, he admitted that they had made a mistake and that they would correct it with a price adjustment. A friend also spoke with Mr. Q and he again admitted that his tech was at fault but the decision on how to compensate for their error was up to Daniel O, Sales Dept. He specifically asked if I was willing to accept 10 additional years of free service and maintenance instead of the monetary reimbursement. I felt this to be unreasonable under the circumstances. In the meantime, I stopped payment on my issued check and Daniel O called and said that he was coming to my home on 8/23 with another proposal. I was firm in my demand for compensation of an amount not less than what it would be with the limited warranty being applied. He originally said my cost would be $7,200 and if I did not accept it he would place an immediate Lien on my property This was said in the presence of a witness. After further discussion he texted his office and came up with the amount of $6,500 (which was still $3,000 over what I should have been charged.). Due to his threatening attitude I felt I was forced to sign the new Proposal Agreement "Under Duress". This document stated that "Original price $9,750 and has been reduced to $6,500. Customer agrees no more compensation is needed. I truthfully feel that I was taken advantage of due to the fact that I am a single female senior citizen in a situation where I was coerced into agreeing to a full replacement of my AC system, rather than attempting to repair the individual parts which were not operating. The Service Manager admitted on more than one occasion that they were 100% at fault and the error would be corrected. I was not compensated according to the terms of my 5 year Limited Warranty and would like this case further investigated.
In spite of the verbiage written on the Proposal and Agreement dated August 23rd,, which I signed "under duress" with the threat that "if I did not accept it A lien would be immediately placed on my home". I feel that the Warranty should be honored and the associated total expense to me should be $3,500.00 for the labor as this Warranty covers parts only. I also feel that the culpability is with the initial Technician in his failure to thoroughly check on the existing Warranty before suggesting total replacement, AND on the Morris Jenkins Representative who came to my home, threatening me that if I refused his offer, he would place a lien on my property "Immediately" This is no was to treat any customer, independent of the situation, and I truly believe that had a more informed individual been with me at the time the first technician came, a new unit would never have been agreed to without first trying to repair the system part causing the problem. At no time were any new parts tried on my old system.

We regret any misunderstanding regarding what was said to the customer. We do have every conversation via telephone recorded and can provide those conversations if necessary.
Unfortunately, even if the compressor and evaporator coil were covered under parts warranty, it would not have been in the customer's best interest to merely replace those components of the system as the work is labor intensive.
The customer agreed to have a $10,000 system installed in their home for $6500 after much deliberation and offers of extended warranties and service agreements. We agreed to this because we did not want to take advantage of the customer and the customer signed the agreement.
Again, we regret any misunderstanding. It is a fact, and not a threat, that a lien will be placed on a person's house if the installation is not paid for. We feel that it is important to disclose that information.
Morris-Jenkins' longevity in business and the awards and accolades received would not be possible if we took advantage of our customers. Our goal is to provide the best service and quality installation in the greater Charlotte area.

Jeremy came out yesterday for my routine maintenance and did a great job!! He was very knowledgeable, professional and took the time to do a complete job. He found and corrected a couple of minor items to keep my unit running great. He also took the time to find a leak and recharge my A/C until a replacement part could be installed. He took time to explain everything to me and noted everything would be covered under my warranty. Outstanding, honest service from a great technician!!!
John, Dino and Brandon installed my mother's new heat pump system and were awesome. Very professional and patient with my mom who has significant hearing loss. A very enjoyable experience.
Jimi did an excellent job troubleshooting and repairing our AC. He took the time to go over the issues that he found, and the repair options we had to get it repaired. He was extremely professional, and completed the repairs quickly.
David did such a great job today listening to my concerns and then finding the problem with my air conditioner. He assured me he would take care of the problem and he did!

Pat showed up on time checked out the system and gave me the 411 on the system. Needed 1 part which he had in the truck and was able to get the AC up and running quickly.
As a priority advantage member, Nick came to do the maintenance check on my A/C unit. He discovered a leak in the evaporator coils of my unit. He was upfront & honest about the leak. He showed me a video of his findings. He even called his supervisor to get a lowet price for me. I appreciate his candor & help for understanding & going out of the way to get me the best price.
I love it when a company exceeds expectations, and Morris-Jenkins does just that. I had an A/C emergency, and was able to easily schedule an appointment online for the same day. I received an instant email confirmation, explaining that the service analyst would contact me before heading my way. Ron H contacted me with an estimate of his arrival time, and arrived within his estimate. Ron's diagnosis was thorough and he took the time to explain the problem, and also show me what needed to be done. The prices were reasonable, and he finished the job and took care to be sure that this homeowner was completely satisfied with the work. I subscribe to a Home Warranty program that covers my A/C, but I will go outside of their preferred contractors to receive this level of service for my HVAC needs. You have won a customer!
Our Technician was Tom B a plumbing specialist. Thomas was very informative and just a great person. He found the problem and took care of it. I would recommend Morris Jenkins to anyone who has heating or plumbing issues. Thanks again Tom
