I’ve been a State Farm Insurance customer for more than yearsUntil this year, that meant paying the semi-annual billsNo issues, no claims, clean driving recordThis year, I've faced two big insurance mattersThe first matter involved a move, and securing insurance for a new living spaceIt went wellState Farm’s Berwyn, PA branch had my back during a key life change and my gratitude was immenseThen, on September 2017, I experienced a collision, about miles from homeThe State Farm dispatcher told me it's my insurance that's paying because of the street and stop sign configurationThe gist: I thought I had clearance, but the other driver was distracted by a cell phone call and sped up, hit my back right bumper and sent me into a 180-degree spinState Farm said towing the car back to my home area isn't part of my insurance coverageSo I agreed to have it towed to an approved location a few miles from the scene of the accident and figure out how to get homeThe dispatcher was not concerned at all that I was stranded miles from home, at night, after a car crashOver the next hours a State Farm claims office in Arizona would call me more than once to ask me where my car was as they'd been unable to locate itAfter the claims office located the car, an adjuster informed me the damage amounted to a total lossThat information was reversed on Day post-collision—by which time I'd made an appointment with a car salesperson who was delivering a car for me to buyMy own car was repaired after I’d gone thirty (30) days without a car, waiting for itThe body shop did a great job with the car; but how, in the age of apps, doesn’t State Farm either offer options for repairs that take timing into consideration OR arrange to have a rental car for a customer who has an indefinite wait? I’m now aware that a simple addition of $to the 6-month premium will cover a rental car in case of an accidentWhy isn't that part of the standard coverage? We should all be aware that it isn'tI had to pay a $1,State Farm deductible at the body shop to obtain the carHad State Farm done any serious investigation into the fault of the parties before they took this payment? When I described the incident by phone to my local State Farm agent soon after it occurred, my agent expressed the view that approaching my financial responsibility fairly, taking account the actions of the other driver, would be part of the resolution to my case(This shouldn't have been difficultState Farm insures the other driver too, so this case isn't pitting companies against each other.) The other driver was highly apologetic and twice admitted to being distracted by a phone call when the crash happenedNeither of us received a ticketWere the fault clear-cut to the police officer who responded to the scene, one of us would haveIn an e-mail on October, the day I retrieved my car, my local State Farm agent told me that the claims department found me at fault; and in the same e-mail the agent agreed that the other driver could have avoided the collision if not distracted by the cell phoneAs to fault rules, I responded, these vary by state, and the crash happened in Maryland, which follows the contributory negligence ruleThat is, if the other driver contributed in any way to causing this collision, the other driver is disqualified from recovering damagesThe legalities are relevant to the level of diligence I'd expect in State Farm's handling of my case, I wroteMy local agent wrote back with a toll-free corporate number to which I could complain, claiming to be "strictly prohibited from interfering with a claim decision." Asking one's own local insurance representative to inform the decision makers what happened is interference? What do the decision makers know (if anything) about what happened in this accident? Does customer service exist for a client who has been in a car accident?
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCEN If you are having or considering STATE FARM Insurance you may want to read this: On July 5, while riding my bike on bike path along major street I was hit by a car violently, entering the main street from a gas station exit while I was crossing the entrance cautiously I was badly Hurt with a fracture in the pelvic area I spent days in the hospital and the rehab facility and nearly months at home recuperating from my surgery, etc While the driver's insurance took responsibility for my hospital care, it was suggested that I use the $5K medical expenses allowed in my State Farm auto policy for miscellaneous out-of-pocket expenses as major expenses are paid by driver's insurance and handled through legal channel Accordingly on August account number14-9B00-was established at State Farm to receive the out-of-pocket claims Aug- 1st claim including items receipts for the total of $was sent to State Farm local office Dec- 2nd claim including items receipts for $was sent to State Farm local officeThis claim included traveling out of state the for 2nd opinion on my injuries Dec- The State Farm Claim adjustor sent summary of the above claims, acknowledging $plus missing receipt for $which was recent, while rejected $for the cost of traveling out of state for 2nd opinion as well as minimal amount for dues to the local YMCA I could not used because of my injuries, from the total of $submitted Dec- Despite dozens of emails and phone calls for payment, the claim department advised that they did not have police report of the accident, of which I send a copy via email attachment Dec- I contacted S.Flocal office advising that in addition to the ongoing Physical Therapy I will be needing Massage Therapy and since the payment for this service is on cash basis I will need confirmation of coverage under out-of-pocket availability of $5K! Reply from Claim Dept needs Doctor's order Dec- I sent doctor's order recommending Massage Therapy 2-times/week for weeks to alleviate Muscle Spasm and pain I also submitted costs and options from a well-known licensed massage therapist, for their consideration On Jan- After many follow-ups, I was once again stunned that Claim Dept did not have the medical report For this I went to FWO (Fort Wayne Orthopedic) to expedite the report In my presence they called State Farm and reminded them what they need to do to get the report Who would believe that the Insurance Coestablishing an account, receiving receipt documents, etcdid not request either police or medical reports at the time of opening the account or shortly thereafter!!! It was rather unbelievable that they did not know how to get medical reports from a well-known Hospital?? And here is one of the many obstacles presented "He will need to submit chart notes from the licensed massage therapist documenting what body part they massaged and why" Apparently the Claim adjustor questioning Doctor's prescriptions and recommendations! So on, 02/08/17,on the 50th day anniversary since I sent doctor's order for Massage Therapy, State Farm never approved or denied the therapy while I lived with pain and discomfort, so I decided to cancel all my policies and end decades of business with State FarmThey played meThey fooled me And tried and tried to find obstacles to kill time! I understand how businesses try to reduce payouts where possible, but I couldn't imagine how far State Farm will go to sacrifice customer health for so little It is so shameful that a Claim person can keep a longtime loyal who need medical help in limbo for days! The whole ordeal was tragic and shameful!

I requested a HO(Rental Condominium Unitowners) insurance policy back in June from the State Farm agency of Donna Lavin and was quoted a price over the phone for the policy I was told it could be paid in installments for a fee or in full at the time of purchase for no fee I opted for the second option and paid the policy in full Later that day I received a Declarations page for the policy showing that it was in effect from June 2nd, to June 2nd, Earlier this month I received a Notice of Cancellation for March 13th, if a balance of $is not paid I called the agency to determine why I am receiving a bill for an additional amount when I paid the policy in full at time of purchase At first they could not determine why I was being billed when I paid the amount that was originally quoted to me I was told they would contact their home office and call me back with an explanation I received a call later that day and was advised that sometimes the price
called my local insurance agent to pay my bill, kept asking me is if wanted renters insurance, asked them if my bill will go up because I am disabled and can't afford it, no problem the person tells me, with the discounts it will be the sameI get a new bill with a larger amount that I was lied about, and I now 100,dollars worth of of mold damage ???? then they send me a new bill with paper work charges because I asked them to remove itsay what ???, my discounts are removed from my auto insurance and my rates go up, wife calls, person tells my wife the new bill will have a service charge for not having direct draft from my bank account, waited for new bill to show that but nope, they name it as a service charge, I spoke to the federal trade commission, they don't seem to be to happy with the way a disabled person was treated or the bank drafting and being charged if I don't allow itmy wife and I are disabled people, we should have not had to go though all
I contacted my agent via telephone at ( [redacted] ) on July 10th to cancel my policy because I decided to switch to another companyStatefarm acknowledged my request and told me that it would be cancelled as of July 13th as per my requestI also gave a fax number of Esurance for them to fax a declaration letter to my new insurance On July 14th I was billed by state farm $.When I contacted Statefarm they denied me calling them to cancel and denied them faxing anything to EsuranceI have a copy of Esurance receiving a fax from statefarm on July 10th (which statefarm denied sending to Esurance)Statefarm now states that they don't know when I will get a refund and if I do get one it might be 2-weeksIs it Statefarm policy to make a mistake and then send a refund to customer many weeks later? So essentially I correctly cancelled Statefarm policy and have a copy of the fax they s

My husband hit a chunk of ice 11/which broke oil pan causing turbo to go out and other issues with the car Took months and a lot of phone calls and miss truths on State Farms side to finally get the car fixedDrove it days and the throttle stuck called dealer who did repairs and on the way to take it back to them the throttle stuck again They then installed a new turbo and documented the throttle but couldn't identify why it stuck Gave the car back and less the miles later it stuck wile my year old son was driving with other kids in the car Told with our agent present that if it was documented that the throttle had stuck during the previous claim and repair process that it would tie back to that and not count against my sonits been more weeks and nothing resolved but looks like it will count against our son and go on collision They also said they don't have a estimator, then we have to wait for the estimator to go to the dealer, then find out again they don't have an estimator They are so unprofessional Considering taking them to court
I cancelled my auto insurance policy with State Farm a week ago, I have no current policies with State FarmYesterday I had just enough money to cover a credit card payment that I knew was coming out today (totally unrelated to State Farm)This morning I woke up to an overdrawn bank account because last night State Farm took the monthly premium $out of my bank account even though I no longer have a policy with themTaking the $that I did not even have in the account cost $for the first overdraftLater in the day the credit card payment that I was expecting did indeed go through, but the money was not there because State Farm took the payment, so of course this cost a second overdraft fee of $Several other pending small payments I know to be coming through soon are going to cause more overdraft fees all because State Farm took a monthly premium for a policy that had been cancelled a week agoI do not have the money to put in the bank at the momentState Farm is lite
This review is specific to john santoro branch in lighthouse pointI wanted to put out a review to describe my experience with this State Farm location as a warning to others who are looking to possibly switch to State Farm for insurance coverageI want to start by saying I have never left a negative review of any business I have dealt withMy experience was horrificI spoke to Alyssa (office manager at the time) to get set up with State Farm originally and she was wonderful ! She quoted me a great rate on auto insurance for the same coverage I currently had with another companyI was thrilled and had her set me up with my policy right away ! She took my payment, set me up for auto bill pay and emailed me a welcome email and a temporary ID card and all seemed greatI kept waiting for my real ID cards and some type of packet or information about my policy to come in the mail, but it never didAs the holidays approached and life got busier I didn’t think about the ID cards againThen I received a letter in late December that my husbands drivers license was at risk of being suspended due to our lack of automobile insuranceI immediately called Alyssa when I returned to work the first week in January to find out what was going onI was informed that my policy had been cancelled because when they attempted to take my auto payment on 10/(was due to be debited from my account mid-September, but no reason given as to the delayed attempt) the transaction was denied and instead of someone calling or emailing me for updated information, they cancelled my policy altogetherShe claims to have mailed a letter but had no record of calls or emails being sentI never received a letter, and still hadn’t received my ID cardsI was obviously lividAlyssa assured me that if I made a payment that day for the regular monthly fee I was quoted, my policy would be reinstated and my next payment would be my regular January monthly installment due the middle of the month and would be auto drafted as originally put in placeI asked if anything else would be due and I was assured that nothing additional was due until my regular monthly installment for JanuaryI then was notified that I owe times that amount by the end of this monthI called Alyssa backshe no longer works thereThe owner, John, informed me that Alyssa has misquoted my premium from day one and that it has been reconfigured and now my monthly payment would be $more per month than originally quotedI agreed to pay John the revised premium but refused to pay the additional funds being invoiced to meJohn explained that those are the fees that were due for November and DecemberI explained to john that I will 100% not be paying for coverage for months I wasn’t even covered with State Farm due to their company cancelling my policy without any notice to meI was baited and switched by Alyssa into a payment that was to clear our balance to come and find out that was not the caseJohn and his brother Joseph, who was now my “account rep” had zero understanding or remorse for the fact that their former employee made a mistake and they now expected the CUSTOMER to just deal with itThey stated “there is a reason she no longer works here”I have worked in customer service for a long time and never have I been instructed to let a customer suffer the consequences of a mistake I had madeIt’s shameful that a company as large as State Farm would not want to do right by their customersIn my final contact to this office, I cancelled my policy with State FarmMy husband requested they pull my initial call with Alyssa and also the one from January where I was assured everything was back in place and their response was for us to contact corporateThey made no attempts to try to see how they can prevent this in the futureWe understand mistakes are made but it’s how a company responds to their mistake and how the reconcile the error that shows their real intentionsThis is strictly a sales driven officeWe simply wanted to move forward with what we agreed upon but unfortunately we were the victims of a bait and switchI recommend if you are dead set on using State Farm please do not use this officeI hope corporate will pull these interactions so they can see both sides of this
On October 4, at approximately 1:19pm, one of State Farm's insured struck my vehicle from behindThe bumper was okay but I have been experiencing back neck pain as well as my daughter who was in the backseatI called and reported the case to State Farm that same day and was told someone would reach out to me a about business daysTwo weeks later, no call and I do not know who will be paying for my visit to the doctor
Today is Feb 13, ON NOVEMBER I was hit head on in my brand new truck by a crack head with no insurance in another state My truck was taken to one of State Farm's "preferred providers" for an estimate and repairThe truck was valued at over 40k so the estimate of 22k was nowhere near the 75% they said they needed to total it - EVEN THOUGH the frame was destroyed I was told TWO WEEKS for repairsThey rebuilt the truck on a new frame Then went to work repairing everything I asked repeatedly for the truck to be totalled Even the shop owner told me it would never be the same againThey gave a lowball estimate to get the workNow it has been months and no ETA on my truckI was even told that it was done - drove out of state to get it and the truck wouldn't run So it was taken to another shopthen they failedso it was taken to a F [redacted] dealership I can't get updates now - I have no idea where my truck is - and I AM STILL asking for it to be totalled The MONTHS of repairs and multiple shops have no doubt pushed the total far beyond the amount required to total it I was told by the shop owner that "if it were him he'd take it straight and trade it in" We all know it will have problems - but State Farm does not care about the customer At this point if I get it back and it has trouble I will have or shops (in another state) pointing fingers at each other and it will never be resolvedI still do not have my vehiclestill paying insurance and still paying a very large payment for nothingDuring this time State Farm stopped paying for my rental car - I had to put a few thousand dollars of rental expenses on my credit card A week or so ago I called my agent and suddenly state farm claims decided to pay me for a rental car and reimburse meState Farm has been rude, ran me in circles and cost me hours daily of my time trying to get information or get my claim handledI have several houses, my vehicle, motorcycles with State Farm and I always thought I was paying for quality coverage Beware of State Farm
I was instructed by State Farm to have a dimished value appraisal done by a third party for a vehicle involving one of their customersThey stated that once they received the report they would either accept it or try to reach a settlementOnce the appraisal was completed I sent the information to State Farm for reviewI folllowed up with them and spoke to the person reviewing the claimHe pulled up the entire report of over pages and within minute told me I was not eligible for DV claim through the companyHe did not complete a thorough review of the information presented and only based the decision on the fact that no frame damage was done to my vehicle during the accidentThis information was available to State Farm well before they instructed me to have the appraisal completedThe company could have simply told me based on the type of body damage I would not be eligible for the DV claim and I would not have paid to have the appraisal completedThis practice I believe wa
I have had some Financial Hardship and I was advised if I couldn't make a payment I would have a laps in coverage I said was fineThen I make a payment on May 3rd and then Sate Farm took $out of my account with out my permissionSo I have no money to buy food or feed my family my husband is disabled and I have a childSo I call and ask them to return the payment and was told oh well can't do it and try and blame me for account being past dueWhen they clearly told me it would be ok can't believe the horrible experienceIf you ever become past due make sure you don't have a card on file unbelievable
I have not received I bill from state farm this month They called me about the matter and I told them to resend the bill- I again did not receive it I then sent them a payment which they refused for some petty and frivolous reason I hope state farm are not trying to cancel my policy so they can avoid paying the $2,repair bill for an accident I was in while I was insured I recently had my vehicle repaired at a state farm site called [redacted] Chevy I received very poor customer service [redacted] Chevy returned my car missing one wheel cover, part of my wheel replacement kit and they ruined a cushion that was worth $
This place has withdrawn more money than my monthly rate is, using the auto pay option This has happened on more than one occasion Their excuse is to blame corporate, and say that a refund is not possible The most recent occurrence was on Feb 26, where they took out $instead of the $ When we spoke, they blamed a typing error (again) and informed me that I am not getting a refund this time either....they want to credit my account But not until I pay this month's bill....which is also higher than $ It is, and They agreed that the number is incorrect, $this month But I still cannot get a refund, for EITHER of the months ....my account will "be credited"...butonly AFTER I pay them more than I owe them AGAIN!???? Nope This is the last straw I cannot afford to pay this extra money right now I cannot afford to lend them money either That's what this feels like....except they didn't ask to borrow....they just took This is wrong
On April 16, I had to file a claim of vandalismThe sliding door to my home was smashed and glass was all over the place, inside my home and outsideIn addition, I had to bedroom windows smashed where the same occurred with the glassAt first the representative stated there was nothing she could do to secure my home since it was Sunday and after 5pmAfter disputing the situation she found out that she could send [redacted] to my home who would be able to secure my property while I stay in a hotelOn Monday, April 17th I received a call from [redacted] stating that they would meet me in my home to help clean up the glassI placed a call to my claims repSherry H [redacted] at [redacted] to discuss the damages and my next steps in getting my home back to living conditionMsH [redacted] stated that she could put me in a hotel for daysOn Wednesday, I had to call her MsH [redacted] back to explain that I would need more time in the hotel because [redacted] was pulling up the carpetShe extended my stay after having to convince her that my house was still unlivable, this conversation lasted over minutes of me having to explain how I would have to maneuver over and around other furniture that was conveniently put in my second bedroom while still trying to avoid glassSometime during the process of removing the carpet in my bedroom, [redacted] broke my dresser and when I reported it to Sherry H [redacted] she simply said you have to take it up with [redacted] (another situation I have to deal with) What I don't understand is that they brought [redacted] in my home to secure and pull up the carpet an in the process my personal property gets damaged and I have to resolve it with [redacted] Monday, April and I'm still in my home under the same circumstances and Sherry H [redacted] is not authorizing extended hotel stay until my home AT LEAST has the carpet down or completely removedI can't stress enough how disappointed I am with State Farm and frustrated with the representative who has decided where I live through this ordeal! If nothing else, I know for fact when my claim is complete and all have been replaced, I will be changing my insurance carrier for my home, business, and vehicleP.SI forgot to mention.....when explaining the details to create the claim under business property policy, the repTrisha Rizek 844-458-ext**SSN [redacted] stated "You must of made somebody really mad at you." I was so taken aback because I normally don't deal with unprofessional people on a daily basis

State Farm agent [redacted] gave me a car insurance quote via Email for vehicles the first being a Chevy Camaro which to to have full coverage ( including theft, hail, comprehensive collision) vehicle is a Honda Odyssey which was to be liability with uninsured/ under insured motorist coverageFor the price of $per 6mo periodThis occurred via a phone call to her office on 6/18/with coverage to begin on 6/25/I was told I needed to come to her office to sign the policy papers on 6/28/and went to her office on the following day 6/29/Upon arriving I was pushed into them wanting me to also cancel my motorcycle coverage with a different company and change to State Farm, and also encouraged to sign up for a home owners policy also with the assurance this will save me a lot of MoneyDeciding I should slow this HIGH PRESSURE SALES TACTIC down I said I would like to review the auto policy that they had wrote up for meOnly to discover that I was had b
