Review: I purchased a Living Social deal for lawn treatment within 5 days of contacting their vendor [redacted]. I purchased this deal on the 11th and contacted the vendor on the 12th of March. [redacted] also up sold me additional treatments for the rest of the year for an additional $320. Then said they would contact me within the week to schedule service. [redacted] has not reached out to me and as a result I called the vendor [redacted] and asked for refund. [redacted] refused refund and said they have a zero return policy. I said that's fine, but my lawn is growing weeds and their service was past the fine print in the living social deal that stated service within 5 days. I disputed the additional charges of $320 with my credit card and are waiting response on that issue. However the remaining $38 dollars that was paid to Living Social has not been refunded and Living Social is non-responsive to my requests for refund since their initial denial on 3-25 stating that the vendor marked the deal as used and that they will not refund deals marked as used.
"Hi [redacted],
We are sorry you are having difficulty with scheduling with [redacted]. The merchant has marked this voucher as redeemed. That most likely means they are in the process of scheduling. Please contact the merchant at [redacted] to discuss their options.
We are unable to offer you a refund or credit as this is outside of our refund policy.
If you still have questions, please reply to this email. We're happy to help!
Thanks for LivingSocial!

Response:
On April 1, 2013, the
Revdex.com received a complaint about LivingSocial from [redacted], Revdex.com Case Number [redacted]. LivingSocial received the complaint on April
3, 2013. [redacted] sent a complaint via the Revdex.com regarding
LivingSocial because he purchased a voucher for fertilizer and weed treatment
from Dr. Green on March 10, 2013 for $38. He is requesting a refund because the
merchant did not service him within five days as specified on the voucher.
LivingSocial
apologizes for [redacted]’s experience. Because he purchased an additional
package from the merchant that involves further service, the merchant felt that
the timeframe for service was extended beyond the five days for just the
LivingSocial deal. However, since [redacted] canceled those services and the
merchant will now not be performing any service, the purchase has been
refunded. It will return to his bank statement within 3-5 business days,
depending on his banking institution.
We hope that this
resolves [redacted]'s issue.
Best regards,
Consumer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
Regards,
Review: I ordered a Living Social deal to [redacted]. The deal read "200 to spend on prescription glasses and sunglasses". I assumed that this meant that the glasses had to be a prescription, but the sunglasses did not have to. In the fine print, it says "must be a complete pair of glasses (lenses and frames)". However, in no part of the voucher does it ever use the term "prescription sunglasses", nor does it say "must be a complete pair of sunglasses". My friend and myself both bought the coupon after viewing it and thinking we would be able to buy a regular, non-prescription pair of sunglasses with the voucher. When we went to do so, we were told that we must buy prescription sunglasses in order to use the voucher. The merchant at [redacted] also informed us that we were not the first ones to make this mistake; many others had come in with the same misconception. I wrote to Living Social asking if we would be able to get a refund, since the voucher had used deceiving language. However, they replied that because it was past the 7 day refund policy, there was nothing they could do. I do not think this is fair, due to the fact that we tried to use the coupon well within the expiration date, and had no way of knowing it would not work until I tried to use it.Desired Settlement: I am hoping that my friend and I will be able to get refunded the original 50 dollars per person that we spent on the coupons.
