Review: ME AND MY HUSBAND ARE CURRENTLY TRYING TO PURCHASE A HOME. AFTER PULLING MY CREDIT I NOTICE A DEBT FROM DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS FOR THE AMOUNT OF 145 ORIGINATING FROM A SUPPOSED [redacted] CALIFORNIA INC. I CALLED [redacted] TO FIND OUT WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT BECAUSE I HAVE NEVER HAD A [redacted] ACCOUNT. [redacted] HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF ANY DEBT OWED OR EVEN HAD MY NAME IN THEIR SYSTEM AS HAVING SERVICE. I WAS THEN TRANSFERRED OVER TO DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS WHERE THEY WERE RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL AFTER TELLING THEM I WANTED TO DISPUTE THE ITEM THAT WAS ON MY CREDIT REPORT. THEY TOLD ME I NEEDED TO PAY MY DEBT AND TRIED TO GIVE ME A SETTLEMENT OFFER. AFTER ASKING FOR PROOF OF DEBT SINCE [redacted] HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THE DEBT, I WAS RUDELY HUNG UP ON. AFTER CALLING BACK AND ASKING AGAIN FOR THE DEBT TO BE PUT BACK IN DISPUTE THEY GOT ANGRY AGAIN. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THE DEBT WAS FROM BACK IN 2011 AND THEY GAVE ME THE ADDRESS WHERE THE SUPPOSED DEBT WAS. THE ADDRESS THEY GAVE ME WAS MY HUSBAND ADDRESS WHERE HE RESIDED BEFORE WE WERE EVEN TOGETHER. THAT MADE NO SENSE. WE DIDN'T GET MARRIED OR MOVE INT TOGETHER UNTIL 2015 WHICH IS ANOTHER RED FLAG. INSTEAD OF HELPING US WITH THIS PROBLEM THEY WERE MEAN AND RUDE AND STILL TRIED COLLECTING THE DEBT. WE WANT THIS TAKEN OFF MY CREDIT REPORT NOW. THEY ARE A SHADY BUSINESS AND NOW KEEP CALLING MY HUSBAND TO TRY TO COLLECT. THIS IS OUT OF HAND AND WANT IT TO STOP. PLEASE HELP. I HAVE CONTACTED THE CREDIT BUREAU AND MADE A FRAUD DISPUTE THERE AS WELL.Desired Settlement: PLEASE HAVE THIS FRAUDULENT ACCOUNT TAKEN OFF MY CREDIT REPORT IMMEDIATELY.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I have no idea why this company is calling me. They keep asking me to verify my social security number over the phone. They say I owe some type of debt. All of my bills and loans are current without so much as a late payment. They refuse to send me anything in the mail concerning any type of debt they say I owe them. I believe this company to be a scam. If I truly owe them something, they need to send me proof of debt in the US mail, they refuse to do so. They are attempting to obtain my social security number, and I am already a victim of identity theft.Desired Settlement: I want this company to stop calling me immediately. If there is something I owe them, they can send it in writing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

I have no knowledge of any emergency service that I received from [redacted]. There is no date attached to the comment to say exactly when I would have received emergency service from [redacted], likewise, I am a [redacted] clinic patient, all of my physicians are at [redacted] clinic in Phoenix and Scottsdale making this unlikely. If they would like to mail me the information for a supposed debt I may owe to [redacted] I am happy to disput that I owe this debt. I am happy to do this in writing, however, this company refuses to send me anything so I have not been given the opportunity to do this. Sincerely, [redacted]

Review: Debt Recovery has reported me as in collections on my credit report. The amount they say is due $50.00 . They told me this is from a Verizon past due bill. I have no idea what this bill is or what period of time it was for. I have had Verizon for at least 10 years. I had Verizon before this time, during this time and present. If I owed Verizon money they would have disconnected my services. I am trying to refinance my mortgage and this small $50 collection account is causing a lot of problems for me. I called Debt Solutions and offered to pay but they will not remove this. I also call Verizon and filed a complaint against them with the Revdex.com but because Verizon sold my account to the debt collection company it is out of their hands!!!!!! I need this off my credit report. I need help.

thank you

[redacted]Desired Settlement: Remove this item from my credit report. I have no problem paying this bill if it is mine. I pay my Verizon bills and am totally confused with this.

Review: I paid off the remaining balance of $244.0 on my settlement offer of $944.00 on Sept. [redacted] 2014 with a phone call to the [redacted]. The money had been removed from me bank account and the [redacted] stated the account was paid and she would be sending me a letter stating the same. This morning I noticed a new charge for $100.00 and immediately called DRS to dispute it. The lady I spoke with whom was not the [redacted] stated that I did not pay off the debt and never spoke to a [redacted]. Which is clearly wrong. She refused to refund my money. I never gave them permission to take that money out, especially since the debt had been paid off.Desired Settlement: I want the $100.00 refunded and the letter stating the account has been settled with me owing nothing more.

Business

I have attached a letter to [redacted] confirming that these accounts have been settled.

Review: The collection agency claims I owe Verizon NY Inc for $108.86. I have not been with Verizon for many years. I have contacted Verizon and I do not have any outstanding balance nor have I ever got any bills from them. The collection agency claims they have been reporting this to the National Credit Reporting Agency and raising red flags on my credit report. I didn't want to give out my social security to them because of possible scam and they wont share the social they have on file. I believe they have the wrong person in the matter.Desired Settlement: Remove me from their system. Correct my credit report if they actually have the right person.

Hello [redacted],

I didn't know I had to respond to the last email. I was led to believe that I was waiting for some "documentation" to be forwarded to me from Debt Recovery Solutions. When I first received a letter from a collector I called Verizon to see if I had an outstanding bill. They told me no. I just assumed for these past few years, the collectors were scammers. I just checked my credit report and was shocked to see that I have been reported. I wrote Debt Recovery Solutions a check for $108 in fear of having this on my credit report even longer. I still don't know if I ever owed Verizon for that amount. I would still like to see documentation to make sure I did the right thing by paying them.

Sincerely,

Review: On May *, 2014 I paid a bill of $59.42 and the customer service rep said I would receive written conformation the debt was paid within 2 weeks, via a letter in the mail and the debt collection would be removed from my husbands' credit report withing 90 days. On June **, 2014 I called again because we received no letter to date. I spoke to "[redacted]" who said she was very sorry and she would send a letter out that day stating the debt was paid, and I should get the letter within 3-5 business days. On August * we still have not received this letter. So I called on this date for a 3rd time and spoke to "[redacted]". He told me the letter was mailed I said we got no letter, he said he cannot help the NJ mail system is slow. I asked to speak to a supervisor. First he said "she is going to tell you what I just said." I said that is fine I would like an explanation, please let me speak to her. Then he told me "She is away from her desk". And begins to get into a verbal debate with me about the mail system and I don't need to speak to a supervisor, the letter was mailed according to his computer and basically acted like I was annoying him for even calling. I told him not to speak to me like a child, I am a consumer who paid the debt and had a right to speak to a supervisor. Next he said "call Monday no supervisor was working today." I said really I thought she was at her desk? I told him I was contacting Revdex.com he then said he would mail another letter I would get it by Tuesday (which would be the [redacted] of August) I then said thank you I will contact Revdex.com and hung up.Desired Settlement: My husband and I want the letter from Debt Recovery Solution stating the debt was paid and it removed from my husbands credit report, as promised. It has been 3 months since the debt was paid and no letter.

Sincerely,

Review: I received a letter from Debt Recovery Solutions mid-May stating I had an outstanding debt from [redacted]. The letter stated I had 30 days to send a letter denying the charges and could also request further information on the debt. I sent them such a letter within a week and never heard back. On July [redacted] I received a letter that is borderline harrassment claiming I am irresponsible for not paying the debt and the amount increased from their last letter. The letter also informed me they reported the debt and it is now on my credit score. They refuse to give me more information on the debt and I know for certain this debt is not mine because I have never had cell phone account under my own name.Desired Settlement: I would like further information on the debt so I can prove for certain it is not mine. The debt will be removed from my credit score. The company will send me a written notice when this is done with an apology for their mistake and harrassment.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I received a letter in the mail by mistake. The "Original Creditor" is "Verizon California Inc," but that is incorrect. I have only ever had 2 Verizon accounts in my life and neither is currently active.

My first and oldest Verizon account is my Verizon wireless cell phone service. That service is temporarily suspended while I am stationed overseas, but for the record, it currently has a credit balance because I overpaid on my last bill.

My second Verizon account was Verizon FIOS. I had Verizon FIOS for about 8 months from March or April 2010 until no later than November or December 2010. I cancelled that service when I moved from my apartment on [redacted] California to [redacted] California because [redacted] did not have an FIOS Service available. After that, I did not receive anymore bills from FIOS. It is now over 3 years since I closed that account. Just to be certain, I called them up and they looked up my entire history and were able to confirm that I have zero balances across the board.

Why would I have a balance of $177.89 3 years later if I never once heard anything about it and they are showing a zero balance for me? They still had my mailing address and my email address.

I called ###-###-#### to inquire about this balance and to try to figure out how I had incurred this balance and the only response I got was, "You owe $177.89, so you have to pay it." Never once did your customer service agent tell me why I owe this balance. I refuse to pay a balance to a collection company if they are unable to tell me why I have this balance. Frankly, I believe a little more due diligence should be done to explain why people incur balances with Debt Recovery Solutions and I do not appreciate receiving this offensive letter in the mail without proper explanation.Desired Settlement: Ideally, I want this charge removed (adjusted to reflect a zero balance) and I never want to hear from Debt Recovery Solutions again. But if they can provide a testimony from a Verizon Representative AND documentation of WHY I have an outstanding balance, then I would be happy to pay the balance and move on with my life.

Revdex.com and [redacted]:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: Debt Recovery Solutions sent a dunning letter to me, dated March **, 2014 indicating that they had purchased an account from Verizon California, Inc. This letter was sent in violation of Federal bankruptcy law, as this particular debt is listed in our current bankruptcy under the original creditor who sold it to DRS --- any and all creditors are barred from attempting to collect a debt under the automatic stay. This letter indicates that we need to update them regarding "previously filed bankruptcies" --- which they should have known about from the original creditor and/or researched before sending this letter. It seems to me that this company does no do any due diligence before sending out these letters, hence the instruction to "update your account with previously filed bankruptcy, deceased or CCCS information" via their website. Why should the consumer have to do this? If they have purchased an uncollected accounts, there may be a good reason... and given that in their letter they tell people with those three items to contact them...it seems they are fully aware of this unethical practice and that many of the accounts they purchase may be under bankruptcy protection, or for debtors who are dead or in credit counseling. Reading other complaints regarding this company, it appears that this is a common problem.Desired Settlement: Apologize and immediately cease any and all collection efforts on this account in accordance with Federal bankruptcy laws. As this letter is dated after our filing, DRS must remove any and all consumer report notations that may exist regarding this account or they will be reported to the trustee. Please sent written confirmation they they will comply with the federal order and any actions they have taken. Additionally, this company needs to change their initial dunning procedures to research the debtors they are sending notices to.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved provided that they abide by their words. I expect that the account will not be re-sold to another creditor. I would hope that this company, in the future, screens their accounts for bankruptcies in the to avoid situations like this. Attempting to collect on an account protected by the stay in bankruptcy is a violation of federal law and not screening for bankruptcies and other protected issues prior to dunning is unethical and should be reviewed.

Review: Upon pulling my credit report in September of 2013, I noticed a negative collection account from Debt Recovery Solution. In attempts to verify the debt, I faxed correspondence requesting validation of the debt allegedly reported (4/2013) on December **, 2013. It has been over 30 days and I have not yet gotten a response from their agency. I am well aware of my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and if they are unable to show proof of this debt then it must be taken off my credit report. I would also like to add that I do not have knowledge of an account with Cascade Capital, which is showing as the original creditor under my credit report. The fact that it was reported without giving me the chance to dispute the debt violates my rights and would like the situation to be rectified.Desired Settlement: To delete this trade line from my credit report.

Review: I have contacted this company asking them to verify this debt and have never gotten a response with a valid contract I signed or anything with my identifying information. I have never dealt with this company and do not know of this debt. I am a victim of identity theft and have informed this company of such. Also, this debt is over 7 years old and should not be trying to be collected on. Now this company has added this as a collection to my credit which has negatively affected my ability to obtain credit.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

This company has illegally re-aged this debt. This debt was purchased from a company called Geneco in Texas. Debt Recovery Solutions has illegally re-aged this debt and parked it on to my credit report by reporting it to the three credit reporting agencies without notifying me or confirming that the debt belongs to me. This also violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act. Unless this debt is removed from my credit and a letter verifying such is sent to me within 14 business days of this correspondence I will be reporting this to the New York State Attorney General and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

Review: This company sent us a letter stating we owe them $421 for an unpaid bill through US Cellular from 2007. We have not used US Cellular since 2005. The phone number they have listed on the statement is not a phone number used in our state. We have always lived in Wisconsin and it is from Illinois. When calling them about it, they told me the debt is owed by someone with an address in Illinois. They told me if I'd like to dispute the claim, they would send me information in the mail for me to return to them and they promptly hung up on me (twice). Two months later, we have not received anything in the mail, so I called them again. They wanted my husband's social security number and when I told them I wouldn't provide it, they hung up on me. I tried calling back again and the phone picked up, but promptly hung up again. This supposed debt has not shown up on our credit when buying a house or vehicles in the last few years.Desired Settlement: I would like for this matter to go away and for it to not show up on our credit.

Review: I called DRB because of a collection notice from [redacted] in the amount of $46.99. There was a notice on the bottom of the bill that says this may hit my credit report. I checked my credit and it did! I was furious! This was confusing as I have set up automatic payments for that account. I speak to a woman and tell her my issue and that I have automatic payments. She tells me that those charges stem from when I lived at [redacted] during 2011. I didn't move to [redacted] until 2013. That was a red flag right away. I told her I didn't live there then and she hung up on me! I was furious. I figured that the amount wasn't too much and I didn't want to go through a long process so I just decided to pay it. I visit the website to pay it and in order to do so, they need the last 4 digits of my SS. No way am I giving to a company with standards like this. I called up [redacted] and spoke with their finance department regarding the bill. They checked my records and EVERYTHING has been paid for. They have not sent anything into collections. This is a terrible business!Desired Settlement: I want this taken off my credit report and that false bill to be wiped!

Review: After reviewing my credit report and doing a lot of reading about this company and how many other people are having problems with this company placing erroneous reports on their credit reports, I Have pulled this companies name and info from my credit report and have contacted the number given by the Revdex.com.com site, I spoke to someone that claimed they are [redacted] and he stated that this debt they are placing on my credit report is from 2007, to which I have NEVER had an account with US. Cellular up until a month ago. They are trying to collect on a debt that is 6 years old and that I DO NOT OWE. He stated that he will send verification information in the mail. And I am awaiting this information. He also stated that I will never receive another call, mail or any other form of contact from this company.Desired Settlement: I request that this debt be deleted off my credit report and also to have this company thoroughly investigated for illegal and unethical collection practices.

[redacted] - This office purchased an account from US Cellular in the name of [redacted]. I received a telephone call from [redacted] wherein she disputed the validity of the debt. I advised [redacted] that I will suspend all collection activity and I will place this matter in dispute. However, after further review of the account history, I have decided to close the account in question. As such this account will be considered closed and the information we may have placed on her credit profile will be deleted.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: This company is trying to re-age an old debt which violates the Fair Credit Reporting Act and violates the statute of limitations. The debt that this company is seeking is due to be removed from my credit report January 2016. This company has changed the delinquency date to August 2015 which illegally "resets the clock" and would allow this company to continue to harass me for another 4 years. I believe this company is trying to intimidate me in order to illegally collect on a debt. They have sent me at least 4 letter in the past 2 months regarding this which I view as harassment. When I call, I am left on hold.Desired Settlement: I want this removed from my credit report immediately as it violates the statute of limitations and fair credit reporting act.

Review: This company began calling a 13 year old's cell phone last month in January 2016. They leave a robo call message that does not state who they are trying to reach. The message always is cut off and is never left in full. The message always says to press a button to be removed from the list or go to a website to be removed. The problem is that the child NEVER answers calls from numbers they do not know, nor do they call them back.

I called them this morning and they advised me that they are looking for a [redacted]. The gentleman that answered the phone was nice and said they would remove the number from their records and that it would take a few days for it to update in their system. I am filing this report to ensure they follow through on their promise as research online indicates that they rarely follow through on removing numbers from their databases.

We have NO outstanding debts, as verified by my credit report. And, we are most certainly NOT [redacted]. Never even heard of her.Desired Settlement: They need to remove this number from their database and stop calling the minor child. We are not the person they are looking for. Never even heard of her. No known relation.
