Response:

[redacted] - This office acknowledges receipt of the complaint filed by [redacted] with your office. [redacted] contacted my company approximately three (3) months ago claiming we violated certain consumer protection laws and demanded payment of $3500. I advised [redacted] that I will research his claims and I asked for certain information in order for us to review the account history i.e. the name of the original creditor, the date we called him, the phone number we called, etc. Furthermore, I asked for an audio recording of any conversation we had with any 3rd party wherein we disclosed any information pertaining to the account in question. To date, we have not received this information.

I have carefully researched this matter and the account history we maintain in our office and have concluded that we never called [redacted]. In fact, we don't have his telephone number on file. Furthermore, the account in question was closed with our office since July, 2013. This is four (4) months prior to our alleged infraction. A further review of the telephone recordings maintained in our ordinary course of business confirm that we received an incoming call to our office from a woman who claimed to be his [redacted] and we clearly advised her that we are not authorized to disclose any information pertaining to this account. No such information was disclosed.

In an effort to compromise, I advised [redacted] that I am willing to close the account in question and delete any update we may have been placed on his credit profile. He has rejected this offer. He continues to insist on monetary relief and threatens to contact regulatory agencies if we don't meet his demand. This attempt at extortion will not be tolerated.

Once again, my thorough research has concluded that our office has complied with all State and Federal laws governing our industry. However, in an effort to compromise, I am willing to close the account in question and delete any update we may have placed on his credit profile pertaining to the account in question.

Thank you for your assistance.

Review: Receiving a collection notice for Verizon for $1374.73.

This Verizon account was closed in 2013 and the charges were for "unreturned equipment" that had been returned and I previously provided Verizon with both the tracking number and proof of delivery.

I was told in 2013 that my account was closed without any issues.

There were no bills received from Verizon after 2013Desired Settlement: This account should be closed and not reported to any credit agencies as it is not due to Verizon.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

My account is not stated to be closed. Verizon provided pre-paid shipping labels in 2013, I have a [redacted] pick up confirmation from June of 2013 for the equipment return and previously provided Verizon with tracking information and a proof of delivery to their facility. I will be contacting the state attorneys general office and my attorney if there are any further attempts to collect payment.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: This company started contacting me in July of 2014 claiming I owed Verizon $133. I provided proof of payment to Verizon to this company on 3 separate occasions. After several phone calls they changed it to "Account Information disputed by consumer, meets FCRA requirements". This is bringing my credit score down for something that should have never been sent to them in the first place. I have already paid this debt to the original debtor therefore of course I'm disputing the payment that they would like from me.Desired Settlement: I want this removed from my credit report

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I attempted three phone calls to the company, including requesting a call back from a supervisor in which there was no ability to allow me to discuss my claim. This creditor is requesting payment from me and I have been a victim of identity theft. I was requesting the fraud department and they would not allow me to speak with someone. They hung up on me twice when I was unable to speak and discuss my concerns. I stated that I can provide all of the necessary information, including documentation stating that I am not responsible for this debt and there was no ability to resolve or discuss my concern. The rudeness and inability to listen the other individuals concerns on the line was completely inappropriate and unnecessary. I will send the company a copy of the Federal Trade Commission report, police report and necessary information to advise them that this will be removed. In addition, I will contact the three credit bureaus to ensure that this has not been placed on my account. I am not responsible for this and I would appreciate that someone on the other end of the telephone could be more receptive. I would hope that if they were to encounter identity theft in their own life their concerns and requests to resolve the incorrect debt collection would be acknowledged rather than berated and made unable to resolve the concern. This company lacks professional ability to handle customers. I understand that there is a need to resolve debt issues and that is their responsibility, however, they also need to hear and acknowledge what is being stated before attacking for an unnecessary cause. I would also state that the supervisor by the name of [redacted] that I spoke to is in need of customer service training and how to resolve issues with customers that are dissatisfied with experiences with their company.Desired Settlement: I would like it to be noted that this company lacks professional ability to deal with clients. I will send them paper documentation disputing the claim including supplemental information supporting my identity theft claim. I will not be speaking with them further via telephone. They will have to communicate with me via mail.

Review: I was treated at the Emergency room @ Wilson Memorial hospital on 11/**/2015 and what my Insurance didn't cover was 33.22 which I purchased a money order and sent it to the listed address paid in full. Money order number is [redacted]. This money order was cashed on 2/**/15. But today I receive a collection notice from a Debt Recovery Solutions,LLC address: [redacted] wanting me to pay this bill over again and it was reported to the credit bureau's that this was not paid.

When I called them the people were rude and told me since we didn't send it to them we had to pay this bill again. and until they received payment or the money order receipt they would continue to collect on this matter. This bill was already paid in full and the money order cashed. They need to stop all collection notice's and it needs reported to the credit bureau this is paid in full and there mistake not mine and I want it removed from my credit report immediately.Desired Settlement: They need to stop all collections on the matter that has been paid in full and they need to remove any negative reporting on my credit report and have this Debt Recovery company write a letter stating it is paid in full and no further action is being taken.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Like many others dealing with DR Solutions (a debt collection agency), my experience has been negative. I started receiving calls in the morning, some have been before 8am (which is illegal). Some of the calls I answer and no one responds back and then whoever is on the line hangs up. They will also hang up on you mid conversation. I believe these to be intimidation tactics. My debt, for which they are offering a settlement of about $70, is for a [redacted] internet bill from 2012 from an apartment I had not lived in since 2010. I have requested on many occasions for them to send me a bill so that I can review it and I will go forward from there to resolve the debt. I have never received one and their response is that they sent me one to the address I haven't lived at for 6 years, and that this is all that is required of them. The only reason why this debt exists is because when I called [redacted] to change the account from my name to my roommates before I moved, they accidentally did not make the transfer. My roommate moved back to Europe without knowing there was one final bill left and now I am stuck with Debt Recovery Solutions LLC harassing me. Mind you I have never missed payments or have been in debt EVER. I believe some of DR Solutions actions are illegal and their business practice is manipulative.

Review: My name is [redacted], aka. [redacted]. Background information: My current [redacted] account number is [redacted]. My previous account number is [redacted]. A couple of years ago I moved to a new residence. During this time I contacted [redacted] to move my service from my old residence to my new residence (which was right across the street from my old residence). My problem is this: When I moved my service, [redacted] did not just transfer my service over, they closed the account and created a new account for me at my new address. I was completely unaware of this fact. I even continued for some time to use the email address that was associated with my original account. It was apparently still available for use even after the account had been closed. I had no indication whatsoever that I had been given a new account. Fast forward to September**, 2014. Through my credit monitoring service I was notified that an serious delinquency had been added to my credit report. I was absolutely stunned and immediately called the collection agency, Debt Recovery Solutions, to find out what this delinquency was all about. I was told that I owed a balance of $81 on the [redacted] account number [redacted]. And because of this balance my account was put into collections and subsequently reported to the credit bureaus. The agent I spoke to told me that the best course of action was to pay the delinquent amount and then to take it up with [redacted]. I paid the $81 immediately and then wrote a letter to [redacted] explaining the situation and asked them to please remove the negative entry from my credit report. They told me that they could not help me because they had sold my account. I talked to [redacted] because Debt Recovery Solutions told me to. Now I am back to Debt Recovery Solutions because [redacted] told me to!! Can't anyone sort this all out? I am a longtime [redacted] customer with an excellent on-time payment history through both [redacted] AND [redacted]. I feel I am being penalized for something that I knew nothing about and no one can seem to help me. Not [redacted] nor the agency who bought the debt. When this started, how would I have known that [redacted] had created a whole new account for me when I moved instead of just moving my existing account to a new address? I never received a single piece of correspondence from them about a delinquency. They continued to service my current account, (which can be verified with [redacted] using the current account number I have given) and I continued (and continue still) to pay my bill on-time every single month. Why would I risk such a big hit to my credit for $81? Yet maintain a separate account in good standing? I feel that at the very least, [redacted] should give me the benefit of any doubt and remove the delinquent account from my credit reports owing to the fact that I have been a customer in good standing for many years. But as it is, they claim not to have information relating to my first account anymore so I have to take this up with the collection agency. My excellent payment history with [redacted] should show that had I known about an overdue amount on a closed account that I would have paid it. Also there is the fact that the moment this hit my credit report I called Debt Recovery Solutions and paid the balance in full. Some of this was told to the collections agent I talked to on the phone when I called to inquire about the debt and should be accessible via a recording or transcript of some sort. All I am asking for is that the entry be removed from my credit reports.Desired Settlement: My bill is paid in full, and owing to the circumstances I am requesting that Debt Recovery Solutions remove the negative information on my credit report relating to [redacted] account number [redacted].

Review: This company has sent me two letters claiming that they have acquired an account of mine from U.S. Cellular, and that I owe a debt to them. The company is using a misspelled version of my name that other spam mailers have used, which is proof enough that the account never existed. However, for further proof, I have never had an account with U.S. Cellular. I have been with the same cellular service provider since I've owned a cell phone. This company is attempting to collect a debt from me that they are not owed, and that never existed.Desired Settlement: I would like this company to send an official letter stating that they have not turned any information into any credit bureau; that they will no longer be seeking any kind of money from me; and that they have deleted my information from their databases.

Review: Hello,Debt Recovery Solutions is continually sending us collection letters on a debt that was paid over three years ago. At one point I had spoken to a collections rep on the phone. I gave them the check number we use, the payment amount and the date the payment was made. We need to find a way to make these letters stop. Im also concerned that Debt Recovery Solutions is damaging my credit rating. The claim is for $88.31. The original charge is from Verizon (account [redacted]).Thank you.Desired Settlement: I would like their collection efforts to stop. Review: This collection has been placed on my credit report. Which is causing me to be unable to move further with a home purchase. I have no idea as to where this debt came from as I pay all of my bills. It states on my credit report that this account was opened in May 2014. I did not open any account then.Desired Settlement: I would like this to be removed from my credit report and the phone calls to be stopped.

Sincerely,

Review: I have received a letter from this company for a bill I thought was taken care of. The first person I initially spoke to on June **, 2014 was very nice, understanding, and tried to be as helpful as she could. You see, back in 2012 - when the debt initially occurred, I was told by the original biller to send a letter proving I could not pay the bill - in this case, it was a letter from a hospital saying my hospital bill was written off. The original biller, a company who deals with emergency room physician bills that are not linked to the hospital, told me to send the letter anyway - and they could use it to prove I could not pay the bill and then it would be taken care of (they also had me send my insurance cards). I sent these documents and was told, by the original biller, to not worry about it. So, I didn't. I never received another letter or phone call from them. Flash forward two years, and I'm receiving letters from Debt Solutions for this bill.

The woman I spoke to on June **, 2014 told me to go ahead and fax the documents I had faxed to the first biller. I never received a phone call or letter from Debt Recovery Solutions. After two weeks, I called them back, and this is where my complaint really happens. The first woman I spoke to cut me off, treated me like I was stupid, and would not let me speak. I tried to explain to her what happened. She continued to tell me the letter states that it will not cover emergency physician services not linked to the hospital. I tried to explain to her that I was aware of that, BUT the original biller wanted that letter to verify my inability to pay the hospital and therefore use it to prove I could not pay them. She continued to cut me off, and I hung up. I tried calling back two times and both times - someone picked up and hung up quickly. THIS IS NOT HOW A BUSINESS - debt collection or any other - SHOULD BE RUN. Finally, someone answered and immediately sent me to the manager. The manager spoke to me in the same sort of tone as the first woman. I can't say that I wasn't getting a bit irate and upset, but I feel as if I had a right to. I was offended - I'm a graduate student - I'm pretty sure I can read the bold letters on the letter saying that the bill wasn't written off by the hospital - that was never the issue. I will state again: The original biller, a company who deals with emergency room physician bills that are not linked to the hospital, told me to send the letter anyway - and they could use it to prove I could not pay the bill and then it would be taken care of (they also had me send my insurance cards). I sent these documents and was told, by the original biller, to not worry about it.

After arguing for about five minutes, I finally agreed to just set up a payment plan. However, this does not change how disrespected I feel.

I am very disappointed in the way I was treated by this company. It is unethical to speak down to a customer, cut them off, and treat them like they are less intelligent.Desired Settlement: If the letter is not sufficient enough for you to forgive the debt, I will just pay it. I understand what the letter says - I am just upset that I was never contacted again by the original biller - even if they were going to say it still needed paid. However, I do believe that this Debt Recovery Solutions seriously needs to discuss with their staff the importance of good customer service, speaking with a smile, and listening to your customers. I apologize for anything I may have said and my tone of voice during my time dealing with the specialists on the phone - however, if I would have just been treated with some respect to begin with, there wouldn't have been a problem. I'd like an apology.

Review: I received a letter in the mail from DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS, LLC stating that they were hired by [redacted] to collect a payment I "owed" to a health service by the name of [redacted] OF [redacted]. It was for a supposed treatment from 2010.

I looked up the health service and also contacted them to help with disputing this payment. According to the medical service, my name was not shown on their records on that date. I even visited the location to have them look at the letter. The representative at the main lobby desk said she had seen several of these letters from debt collecting agencies from other visitors. She told me that the method of payment looks very sketchy and that I should immediately report this to the Revdex.com. I have also seen numerous complaints about DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTIONS, LLC and [redacted] regarding their questionable business practices.Desired Settlement: I was told that because this went through a collections, my credit score will be affected. Sincerely,

Review: I called Debt Recovery Solutions in order to settle an old debt. I asked that a settlement offer, which had been offered without my solicitation, be extended once again, as it has expired. The two appropriate possible responses would be acceptance or rejection of my offer. I spoke with a "[redacted]," who indicated that he needed to speak with [redacted] then implied that the offer was acceptable, but that they would not send me an email or any other written communication where they agree to those terms. I indicated to [redacted] that I have no legal protection if I make a payment without a written settlement offer. He then became aggressive and insulting regarding the original debt, telling me that they don't owe me anything. I replied that I only owed them by means of their purchase of bad debt, and that his righteous indignation was inappropriate. [redacted] then had [redacted] come on the line, who did not identify herself. The person who purported to be a supervisor was very quick-tempered and said that no written offer would be provided and that I should just make a payment over the phone, which would be be accepted as payment-in-full and result in a confirmation email. She refused to send me an email in advance of the supposed agreement, due to my failure to proffer payment after a previous communication where the settlement offer differed from what I had requested.

I think it is inappropriate and unethical for the agents of a business to offer a verbal agreement and request payment without a written agreement. I can only presume that, since they refused to provide even a simple email, Debt Recovery Solutions intended to deceive me out of money today.Desired Settlement: I would like a letter of apology for the tone taken with me today and for the attempt to enter into a verbal agreement, when written agreement was clearly requested. I would still be open to settling my account in exchange for the original offer of $300, which was extended to me in writing only a few short months ago and verbally extended to me today.

Thank you.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

The response contains incorrect information. In the company's response, it is indicated that "Yesterday, an additional email will issued to him confirming that we will honor our previously offered settlement arrangement." This is not true. The email I recieved in response to this complaint looks like it is simply forwarding the September [redacted] settlement offer of $320.36, which I had previously rejected. More problematic is that the forwarded email looks like the original email, except the letter has been altered to extend the payment deadline further to November **. The attachment is still dated September [redacted], even though it was altered in November. I have evidence saved of all of this. Lastly, they send their emails with no identification of the sender. My email simply appears as being from "[redacted]," who I do not know, and has nothing in the subject or body of the email to identify this matter or the company. This leaves me with the responsibility to open an email from a stranger and then open an attached file with the name of "[redacted]". I believe that this further evidences Debt Recovery Solutions's habit of purposely confusing and misleading consumers.

My complaint requested an apology for attempting to collect payment without written agreement, as well as for the original settlement agreement that I received by mail on August [redacted] of $300 to be extended. Due to the awful experience I have had with Debt Recovery Solutions, I do not wish nor intend to speak with their representatives. I would like the above-referenced requests to be handled via emailed or mailed written correspondence. I have attached the scanned original offer, the offer dated September **, that I rejected, and the duplicate offer erroneously dated September **, which I also reject.

Thank you.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I have submitted the $300 payment as a settlement in full on [redacted] (confirmation number [redacted]) and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: I made a payment to my account at the beginning of October for $50.00 toward a $200.00 plus bill. I called back on in late November and paid the remaining balance. When I paid the remaining balance I specifically asked if I had an auto deduct set up and was informed I did not. I was never notified of the $9.75 processing fee which I was charged for along with the payment of my remaining balance. The following day DRS, LLC withdrew and additional $50.00 out of my account. I called them 3 times that day to try get a reimbursement for the over charge. I was informed by a manager that I not only would be receiving the $50.00, but also the $9.75 processing fee back as a refund. I was informed that I would be sent an email as well as a formal letter in the mail to document the refund and the closing of the account. I was informed that the refund may take 5 business days to process. I never received an email, letter or my refund. I began calling again in hopes to try and received my money back. I called twice in mid December was hung up on multiple times as they knew what I was calling in reference too. I called again the following day and still have not talked to anyone who is able to process my refund.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund with interest, if possible, for the $59.75 that DRS ,LLC withdrew out of my account without permission. They charge me interest for none payment, they should have to pay me interest for holding my money for almost 3 weeks.

ON JULY ** DEBT RECOVERY SOLUTION WITHDRAW $50.00 FROM MY BANK ACC. A DAY EARLY FROM WHAT WAS AGREED. THIS INCURRED ME A $34.00 BANK FEE BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE 50.00 IN MY ACCOUNT. THIS ACCOUNT I ONLY USE TO MAKE PAYMENT FROM I DO NOT KEEP MONEY IN THIS ACCOUNT. THIS WAS EXPLAIN TO [redacted] WHO IS HANDLING MY ACCOUNT.MY HUSBAND CALLED AND SPOKE TO [redacted] & TOLD HIM WHAT HAPPEN HE THEN TOLD MY HUSBAND WE HAD TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR BY THE NAME OF [redacted] WANTED PROOF WHICH WAS FAXED OVER TO HER. NUMEROUS CALLS WHERE MADE TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE UNTIL [redacted] GOT FUSTRATED AND TOLD MY HUSBAND SHE WAS GOING TO CANCEL ALL MY PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS AND THE REST OF THE MATTER WILL BE TAKEN UP IN COURT. THIS WAS THE LAST OF THE CONVERSATION. AUGUST [redacted] CAME ALONG AND AGAIN MY ACCOUNT WAS WITHDRAWN $50.00 & $8.75. BOTH AMOUNT ACCURING ME 2 INSUFFIENT FEE OF 34.00. I WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND NO OTHER PAYMENT WHERE GOIN TO BE TAKE OUT. PLUS STILL DON’T KNOW WHY $8.75 WAS BEING TAKEN FROM MYACCOUNT. MY HUSBAND SPOKE TO [redacted] EXPLAIN THE SITUTATION & HE SAID THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY OF THESE FEES. [redacted] THE ONLY SUPERVISOR IN THIS COMPANY DOES NOT EVEN WANT TO HEAR ANYTHING WE HAVE TO SAY AND HANGS UP THE PHONE. AFTER ALL THIS I THINK I PAID THIS DEBT OUT. I HAVE DEALT WITH OTHER COLLECTION AGENCY AND DID NOT HAVE A PROBLEM. MY PAYMENT WAS TAKEN OUT WHEN THEY WAS SUPPOSE TO PLUS THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF PAYMENTS WHERE TAKEN. IF DEBT SOLUTION DID WHAT WAS AGREED I WOULD NOT HAVE THIS PROBLEM.Desired Settlement: TO CLOSE MY ACCOUNT AS BEING FULLY PAID. I DO NOT DENY MY $50.00 PAYMENTS BUT THEY MADE MY ACCOUNT OCCUR 3 BANK FEES TOTAL OF $102.00. MY DEBT IS ONLY $197.70. 2 $50.00 PAYMENT WHERE MADE & TAKEN.

Review: I received a letter on May **,2013 regarding a balance from US Cellular from Debt Recovery Solutions, LLC. This letter stated that I owed US Cellular $495.64 for a [redacted] phone number from US Cellular. I immediately called them and explained that this was my father's phone number and assisted with getting them in contact with him and resolving the issue. My father has agreed to settle the amount owed.

I have recently reviewed my credit report and found that they have placed a line about this on my credit report. This is completely wrong and I would like it removed.Desired Settlement: Remove the line on my report
