Your letter states Capital One was not able to complete the loan process due to a question about some lien with my home. There...
is no lien on my home. No one said anything after I provided the Will if there still was a problem! I have been with this Bank almost 40 years when it was [redacted]. This is how Capital One treats their loyal customers! So now you are saying the application was withdrawn. So who withdrew my loan? One thing I do have is my letter from the Bank stating I accepted the offer on October 23,2017.The letter is dated November 15,2017. The Home Equity Check List was handed to me the same day I accepted the offer. I returned all documents listed back to the bank. I watched as she checked them off. I never faxed any documents. I hand delivered everything to the Bank and waited until they were faxed. It was her job to keep me informed and to make sure she had all paperwork in order. Now you are trying to blame me. I have worked as a Registered Nurse for almost 40 years and I have never seen or heard of anything like this in my career. They Collected my personal documents then refused to let me review them. Again I'm requesting my signed copies of the Disclosures. You as the lender still have not provided them to me. You all don't have to keep saying that Capital One is not going to give me the loan! I know what happened and so does Capital One!!

Several years ago I signed up for a Capital One Secured credit card. When signing up I was told to make 12 consecutive payments and then call to have my account converted to an unsecured card and receive my initial $1000 deposit back. After making 12 payments I called and was told that no refund could be issued and secured credit cards could not be converted to unsecured. Although upset I let it go and continued growing my credit.
Fast forward to 4 months ago and my credit has been repaired. It was time to cancel the old secured credit card. In September 2016 I paid the remaining balance and called to cancel my card. I was told that refunds don't get issued automatically so wait one week and then call back to have the check issued. I called back and was told a check was automatically issued the day after I cancelled my account and I should be receiving a check in the next couple days.
Unfortunately, the check never arrived. Since then I have contacted Capitol One at least 6 times asking for my refund. Each time I am told they have emailed the department that handles that and to wait another 7-10 days. Each time, nothing arrives.
Last Thursday I called and spoke to a rep. He said he was going to personally resolve this issue. He emailed the department and said he would personally call me back on Sunday (because he was off Friday and Saturday). Sunday and Monday came and went without any contact from Capital One.
With my frustration growing and having already wasted countless hours on hold with Capital One I called again today (January 10, 2017). After 30 minutes on hold I was told the rep (in the escalation department) could only email the department that handles the secured card and hope that someone would contact me in the next 24-48 hours.
On each call I have requested to be transferred to a supervisor or someone who can handle the issue and I have received no assistance. While the employees are polite they are either incapable or unwilling to assist a desperate and loyal customer. I am frustrated and tired of dealing with Capital One. I will be cancelling my unsecured card with Capital One as well as my checking and savings account. I am forced into repeatedly calling Capital One and begging for my refund. How can I find a solution to this ridiculous problem.
Sorry I was out of town......Capitol One contacted me and the situation was resolved. They agreed to stop all solicitations for credit cards, loans, etc. Thank you for your help.

No effort was made to correct the issue, and all that was provided was a copy of the customer agreement outlining the unreasonable and unfair terms. This was not resolved to my satisfaction, and seemingly will not be. Capital One is by far the worst credit card company with which I have done business; not only from this experience with their terrible communication practices, but also due to the fact that they also provided a MUCH lower credit limit than other large well known credit companies and disregarded requests to increase said credit limit.

I have had more problems with capital one than with any other credit card company. Now many of their practices are great. However many are not. My husband and I try to pay our credit cards a couple times per month. Capital one tries to negate the practice of paying down credit cards. They put unnecessary holds on available credit if you make multiple payments per month or if you are late (about a week) . Then they make you call to have the funds made available and will talk to an authorized user about everything but then will make the primary call to make it more difficult saying that their practices forbid talking to an authorized user. (WHAT) What a waste of time and completely untrue. Customer service also each share different information. They are inconsistent and it is clear that the customer service agents are from out of country making it harder to communicate. When you ask them about their practices they just say " its policy" but when you ask why they say "because its policy". There are no reasons for doing what they do, they say that it is to give time for the funds to clear the bank but it is clear that the funds have transferred because transfers only take a day at each bank. There would also be no reason to have to wait. Most credit cards give you the money right away and do not make you wait a week.
