Had Empire install scraped hardwood floors approx years ago only to have the finish start peeling offHas 20+ year warranty but it's like pulling teeth to have someone come and inspect the floors1st was told it would be $for someone to come and inspect, 2nd made an appt and no one showed, no phone call either, 3rd finally after another week they sent someone out who doesn't speak a oz of English and he thought he was there to inspect the installation of the floors not the product itselfHe took pictures!! Pictures do not do the peeling of the hardwood finish justice!! They look Terrible!!! Peeling finish everywhere! Buyer beware!!!!!
First let me say that I had used Empire Today for several smaller jobs in the past and was very pleased with both their sales and service therefore didn't hesitate calling upon them when in need of a large floor tiling jobThis time they sent the sales manager, Michael to assist me since my previous salesman was unavailableI love their in home service and was very pleased with the sample tiles presented and quickly found a very nice porcelain tileI asked Michael for the country of origin which was stated incorrectly as I discovered laterHe wrote the order up on a computer notepad ( I would have preferred a hard copy ) and had me sign and initial in several places; collected a deposit and leftA copy of my order was emailed to me later
Subsequently tiles and workmen arrived and at that time I decided to add kitchen flooring tile into the projectA quick phone call to Michael was all that was needed to arrange thatAt that time I requested a corrected invoice to cover all sq ft
Luis did an excellent job on the install and although the job took longer than expected, I am very pleased with the outcomeUnfortunately, Michael never followed through or returned my calls ( I left messages on his cell phone) which I found extremely unprofessional especially for a sales managerEventually, I felt it necessary to contact their corporate office and promptly received a return call from Dan (regional mgrI believe) and he restored my confidence in their company by going above and beyond my expectations which I won't elaborate on hereI also received follow up calls from Empire Today regarding my service and install which I graded honestly
In conclusion, I would say that Empire Today strives to provide excellent customer service and give them a positive review but would never deal with their sales manager, Michael again!
Awful experience with this companyWe scheduled appointments for an estimate three times and the salesperson didn't show up fo any of the appointmentsWe finally gave up after the third timeNever again!
We bought our carpet from Empire in I call them in April of for them to come out and look at the carpetIt is suppose to have stain guard on itThere are a few stain that we can't get itWe have had it professionally cleaned and the stains still won't come upThey sent a representative out to check on it and he took picturesThis was in April We never heard anything from himWhen I call I get the run aroundThey always say "someone will call you back tomorrow"Finally they sent another representative to come show us and we picked out some hardwood flooring on July We have yet to this day to hear from themI keep calling and they keep saying "someone will give you a call back"I call every other day and the lady handling my case will never answer my phone callsThis is ridiculous to have to beg them to give you what you paid forI would not ever recommend this company to anyoneThey have the worst customer service I have ever dealt with
I am extremely disappointed in the experience I have received from Empire TodayOn February 9, a sales rep came to my home and spent several hours trying to get my husband and I to pay over $12,for two rooms of laminate flooringI explained that the price was ridiculous and I would never pay that amountWe then came to an agreed price and scheduled for February 13, I was told that someone would contact me at a.m the morning of installation and arrive by a.mI waited for a call in which no one had contacted myself or my husband, so we called to see what was the problemThe problem was no one had completed our order and we were not even scheduled for the date we were toldI have a small infant and had made arrangements and set the date aside to this work could be done, my husband had moved all the furniture to helpThey stated someone would come the following week and do the installationYes someone did come but yet didn't have all the materials neededThe job was left incomplete and we were told they would return in three daysI then again made arrangements to be home at the time I was told they would come, but one hour before they were to arrive Empire called to say they were not able to come, and they would be coming the following eveningThe following evening I received another call stating that they were not coming againI have paid in full for incomplete work and I currently have laminate slabs laying in my foyer along were my month old infant plays around the home, I am so unhappy with company and the whole processI would never refer this company to anyoneEmpire Today is jokeHorrible service!!!!!!
Instead of Empire Today, it should be called Empire Whenever We Feel Like It We previously used Empire twice with no issues but this time has been a nightmare They cancelled our sales appointments twice My husband finally had to take the room measurements and negotiate the bid over the phone Empire also cancelled installation on us twice This last cancellation took place on the very day they were scheduled to install the carpet Now I have furniture spread across several rooms of the house while we wait for the carpet Needless to say this made our Christmas less bright I also explained to several in corporate and customer service that the carpet would absolutely need to be installed this weekend- we are having a baby on Monday! I was told that a sales manager would call me back to discuss compensation and a reschedule We never received a call and I was told they were already booked for installation this weekend There has been no attempt to resolve this issue Thank you Empire for ruining our baby's homecoming! We are cancelling our order and will never work with you again!
We had a very positive experience with Empire today The installers for the laminate and the carpet each did an excellent job They were polite, professional and skilled
Empire Today was excellent the salesperson George *** was very professionalHe steered me in the right direction on the color of product that would look great for my kitchenThe installers came and got the job completed in a short time and left the kitchen beautiful
On Wednesday, August I had an in-home appointment with an Empire sales person to purchase carpetSince I am blind I had a sighted friend assist me in selecting the type of carpet and in reviewing the contract to signI made a 10% down payment and scheduled my installation for Friday, August 12between 8AM and 6PMThe week of the appointment for installation I got an e-mail requiring that I call and reconfirm my appointment with a special code that I give to the representativeThe e-mail told me that if I didn’t call then someone from Empire would call me to confirmSo, I did make that call to confirm that I would be available on that following Friday
At 7:30AM on the day of the installation I got a phone call from Empire saying that they had overbooked and that they would need to rescheduleI was in shock and very upsetThe night before I spent time moving all of my glass items and small furniture This was strongly advised by the sales person and the e-mails I got from EmpireAlso, again since I am blind, I scheduled a friend to come on the day of the appointment to be here with me during the installation processSo, I was ready to go on the morning of my appointment and now to hear this was not goodI explained to the Empire representative on the phone that this was not acceptableI explained all that I had to do to prepare for this appointment and that I was disabledShe said that she would get me an afternoon appointment and call me backShe did call back to confirm an afternoon appointment but couldn’t give a specific time; but would call when the installer was on the way
At about noon, I called the toll free number to check in but got no information since that number is not located in AtlantaI called my friend who was going to sit with me to give him an update and he shared some disturbing news with me about his experience with EmpireApparently he and his girlfriend had scheduled an appointment tooHe shared how the sales person was late to his home and how he was unimpressed with the sales pitchAs he was talking we both discovered that the sales people used the same exact sales pitchUsing phrases like “we are not going to be a used car salesman” and “I installed carpet before I became a salesman.” At first I thought my friend had the same sales person I had but after more conversation we discovered it was two different people; just using the same exact sales pitchNow I am even more upset and feeling like I have been taken advantage of
After that I decided to cancel the appointment altogetherI called the toll free number and was transferred to the cancellation departmentI explained the situation to the representative and to my surprise, she was not surprise by my experienceShe mentioned that the Atlanta area is low on contractors and that more needed to be hiredI was taken aback by that because if you know that then why are you overbooking appointments? She offered additional discounts on my purchase but by this time I was very angry and just wanted a full refund which she issued and I later received
At about 3Pm I got a call from the installer saying that he was on the wayApparently the news had not gotten to him that I had cancelled my appointmentOn a side note: 3PM is late to just be coming to a person’s home to install carpetI am thinking how long would it take and would you be here until late in the evening? Additionally, the first representative never called me back to say he was on the way eitherThere was definitely a breakdown in communication with Empire and its employees
This experience has just been awful with EmpireThe advertisements and TV commercials sound good all the time; but the actual service is not that greatTo call a customer at the last minute who has already confirmed, already made a good-faith payment and was already set and ready to go is awful customer service
I ordered and placed a deposit on carpeting for the entire second floor of my home Installation was promised for 6/22/ On 6/22/I received a call from the company saying that my carpeting was still in Chicago and had not even been cut as yet and they needed to cancel installation I phoned Keith ***, sales manager, and he promised the next day delivery on 6/23/ On 6/23/installation was cancelled again because the truck broke down enroute to pick up my carpeting After many phone calls, a corporate office employee promised delivery on 7/15/if I would give the company another chance, which I unfortunately did On 7/15/the company informed me an installer was not available in my area and they had to cancel again I told them to give me my deposit back immediately and cancel my order, which they did I carried furniture down a flight of stairs separate times and returned it separate times which caused me tremendous stress physically, mentally and emotionally (I am years old) What a horrendous experience and inhumane treatment of a customer
I had Empire come out and install kitchen flooringMarcus was my installerHe's a perfectionist and it shows in the end jobHe's Pleasant and very easy to work with making sure you're happy with the jobI would highly recommend himI'm so thrilled with the work that he did
My husband and I are completely satisfied with the sales, purchase and installation of our wood floor and carpetEverything was done in a timely manner and the product we chose is very satisfyingI would recommend Empire to anyoneWe are very happy
We had engineered hardwood installed throughout our home, and were very pleased with the entire process, from the professionalism of the salesperson to the guys who put in the flooringThe installers reviewed the entire job prior to startingThey were very hardworking, did an excellent job with the installation, and got it done quickly
First I would like to say don't do business with this company, they are a jokeI purchased carpet for my houseThey salesman was super nice when giving he's spill about the product and the installationWhen the installers came to put the carpet in, not only did they not call when I was told they would they just showed up without any noticeWhen they moved my furniture they flipped it upside down without regards, they knocked stuff off the walls and kicked it to the sideNot to mention it took them hours to install carpet in one room and a hallwayWhen I called to complain this morning I spoke with the salesman and he laughed at me when I told him I was unhappy with the experienceLike something was funny, I then called customer service and was told someone would call me back within hours which is unacceptableI told them someone better call me back todayWhen the lady called back she acted like my concerns were no big dealShe told me they way the carpet was installed was the correct wayLast time I checked you don't staple carpet to the floorThat is why they have tack stripsBut the end of the conversation I was told I would receive a refund check of in the mail, but it will take up to days to receiveI can't believe how this company is run, I will NEVER do business with this company againVery unhappy with how this experience went
We placed the proper down payment and were given a loan for the balance for flooring Empire Today LLC placed a lien on my property, even though payment has been made in full The lien was placed on the property before the loan was due in full Now I'm waiting to receive a waiver of release for a clean title on my home They were supposed to contact me within hours to provide the waiver of lien however I have not heard back from them
It was not explained to me by the sales person nor the customer service individual that they would cash my check even if I cancelled the installationI was informed by the customer service rep that my check would be mailed back to me It was not and I checked my account several days later to see they cashed the checkNot acceptable business practices at all They should be informing the customer that they will cash your check even if you cancel the services This caused me a huge headache and aggravation When I called back to ask why this was done I was hung up on after being talked to rudely by the representative, telling me to handle this in the local office
DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THESE PEOPLE!!! They will SCREW YOU OVERBEWARE & RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLEWe purchased carpet from them for over $7K & NOT EVEN YRS later there are ripples & matting areasWe are NOW being told that because we did NOT have the carpet cleaned professionally w/in 18-mthsthey will do NOTHING about itHOWEVER we can PAY for them to come out & stretch the carpetAlso, they NEVER bothered to tell us we had to do this "professional carpet clean" & in all the papers they left us there is NOTHINGGood luck if you end up buying from them
We used Empire last year for our flooring and we were so impressed with themWe needed more work done and we called them againThey sent a salesman out, Troy *** He was phenomenal! Honest, helpful just a good guy! I was so happy with him and the price that I had him go down the street to my moms and give her a quote and she's having flooring done too!
I cannot say enough about this company but especially Troy!!! We will even have them back next year for window treatments!
I will definitely be referring him to our friends and familyI was in the customer service business for years and it is SO important to me to take care of your customersI really feel that is what Troy didThank you!!!!:)
We had an excellent experience with Empire Today The Design Consultant Jason *** was very knowledgeable about bamboo flooring, was sincere and represented Empire Today so well that we decided to buy "on the spot," even though that is not our usual practice We had expected he would say the installation would occur X-weeks in the future, but said "tomorrow" (Friday) or Monday We decided on Monday Over the weekend, we received emails and phone calls confirming our Monday installation At 8:30am on Monday, another call saying the installer would arrive by 9:00am At 8:45am, the Installer Agustin Sanchez called saying he was just minutes away, and he arrived by 9:00am with his helper Solmon It was a pleasure to have them in our home They were quiet, courteous, worked as a team and were laser-focused on the flooring installation They moved furniture as needed and cleaned up as they progressed They were finished by 6:00pm We were amazed! They arrived at 9:00am and were finished by 6:00pm The floors were beautiful and all installation debris was taken away We had an excellent experience with Empire Today, and highly recommend them
We're a current customer of Empire, & paid cash to have our master carpet that they installed replaced with laminateThis is week & we still don't have itWe've had several installs scheduled but when they came to install it, they're were different colors & damaged stockWorkers reloaded the truck & we've been told different stories since Can't find the rest of the order, (boxes to replace damaged & wrong color boxes) to scheduling install dates, & no one shows up or calls
UNACCEPTABLE, I was finally was told today that they're waiting on boxes & they're expecting it today; installer will call in the morning
Never ever will I buy from this company
