Dear Revdex.com, Thank you for bringing this to our attentionI am sorry to hear that the customer has experienced problems with her *** refrigerator. The 2-year Geek Squad Protection (GSP) plan covering the customer’s refrigerator began on the refrigerator’s delivery date which was 3/10/
and expired on 3/10/16. The written terms and conditions of the GSP plan covering the plans begin date, which the customer agreed to at the time of purchase, specifically state the following: “Your coverage under this Plan is effective beginning on the date you purchase your product or on the date your original product was delivered to you as stated on your purchase receipt and will expire either one, two, three, four or five years from this effective date depending on the length of the Plan you purchasedThis Plan is inclusive of your product’s manufacturer's warranty; it does not replace your product’s manufacturer's warranty, but it does provide certain additional benefits as listed within this Plan during the term of the manufacturer's warranty.” The Plan’s terms and conditions can be found on our website at https://www-ssl.bestbuy.com/usw/termsconditions/anonymousUnfortunately, this product is out of GSP coverage and manufacturer warrantyThe customer would need to pay for any needed repairsSincerely, Dean *** Executive Resolution Specialist ###-###-#### *** ** *** ***

Hello Alex,You are speaking solely in hypotheticals and initially were not even aware of the promotionI was thereThere was absolutely no testing done and no physical conditions (which is what the online tool ask) that were worse than "poor," in fact the computers were in much better working condition than I described onlineAs previously mentioned, the sole requirement was the trade in of a "working" laptop as advertisedI would advise Best Buy to discontinue such advertisements if they intend on allowing stores to arbitrarily choose which laptops to accept.I would kindy request you to pass this to your senior representatives who can adequately address these concerns and have direct feedback from the store sent to meWhile you may represent the current position of Best Buy's customer service team, it most certainly is subject to changeBest Buy's senior agents can speak for themselves if I ask for an escalation.Best Buy has failed to create the customer experience it intended to in this promotion - advertising it as one for all "working computers" but leaving stores to do as they please - and as a result, will see less computer purchases from customers like meBest Buy customer service seems to want to stand firmly behind their store than with their customers, who are key to their success as a companyIts disappointing that they want to hide behind the legal wall created by their terms and conditions than provide customer-friendly helpRejecting an escalation and not honoring promotions as advertised is not fair business practice
